~ Lacrosse ~

I thought the season was over for us. I thought the doctor wasn't going to release my son to play lacrosse after he broke his finger. I thought wrong. He was released to play on April 22nd. I was so excited to watch him play. The entire time he had been out, he went to every practice but one. He suited up for every game and even went to the Varsity games. He stood in the snow freezing his buns off and cheering his teammates on for two of those games. Nothing was going to keep me from going to the game, not even the confirmation practice my twins had the same night. I made my hubby go to that! Yes....I will win "Wife of the Year" for that one!

I have never EVER prayed for any team to win, not even my NASCAR driver. I've prayed for a safe race or game, or that the competitors did their best. This is the first time I prayed for a team to win. I prayed so hard. I knew how happy my son was to be able to play, especially when he thought he was out for the rest of the season. I just wanted it to be perfect for him.

My son usually doesn't start the game. This time he did. About 3 or 4 minutes into it, the first goal was made.....by my son!!!! I was ecstatic! I immediately texted DeeDee, and then was going to call my hubby, but I thought that would be rubbing it in. He called me soon after to see how the game was going, and when I told him, he was excited, too. The other team scored and was ahead at the half. I started to worry that we would lose. Our team kicked it into gear and we pulled ahead and won 6 - 4, and my "little boy" played the entire game.

Afterward, I waited by his car to congratulate him. He asked me if I had seen him make his goal. I told him I had, and his reply, "It was sweet, wasn't it?" Oh.......you have no idea!~
