Remember This?

Wow, while surfing youtube for today's SMV, I came across this vid, I have not seen this in ages. I remember it so well. All of the musicians look so young, and the song brought back so many memories. Kenny Rodgers looks fab, not like he does now, which is something like a plastic awful tight rubber face. And Michael Jackson, his one glove, back then I thought that was so cool, now I think it looks stupid, he had a great voice, what the heck happen to him? Oh and one more thing, whats up with the sunglasses, mostly everyone is wearing sunglasses, was that the new fad??

I can't figure out the year this came out tho, does anyone remember?

    Congrats on first Shirley!

    Wow Kgirl is up and got 3rd!

    I have a lot of catching up to do. Friday gone all day. Yesterday we had no power all day. Some fool hit the telephone pole in front of our drivewayat 2:00 am they left their vehicle and took off! We figure the vehicle was stolen. The pole was hit so hard it had splintered and cracked all the way up!!! So they had to come and replace the whole pole.

    We were stuck in our house as they used our driveway for their work site. Then we had a grandsons birthday yesterday which we were very late getting to when we finally did get the chance to leave. Crazy!

    I do believe somewhere in all of this that there is a box downstairs that has a certain necklace. I need to open that today and get a picture of it.

    Oy I feel like I am running on a treadmill! LOL

    Ok off to listen to the video and try to catch up on area 51.

    Wow Carol so many of them do look so young! Lionel Ritchey pretty much looks the same tho! LOL What I noticed is that the singers that are so passionate and really belive in the song they are singing seem to be the ones that are still around making music today.

    I agree about Kenny Rogers he looked so much better before plastic surgery!

    Carol the Sheriff was pretty sure it was stolen. If not these people are in deep shit as the car was also full of empty Corona bottles! Maybe they were so drunk that they did not think about the police being able to trace the vehicle back to them.

    We just can't figure out how they left the scene so quickly as our youngest son heard the impact and was outside right away and called the police. We think someone had to have picked them up. Yes they do think there were two people in the vehicle because the passenger side windsheild was cracked like a spider web. I have to think someone was hurt but we do not know. It is very strange and scary!

    I have a communion today, my godchild, I brought her a white gold cross with a chain, I love the cross I picked one out that look antiqueish, yet perfect for a little girl.. I am bringing my flip and camera..

    Yes, that is scary, just the sound of it in the middle of nite would have frighten me.. And so glad that they were all able to walk away from a crash like that, even if they were perhaps Drunk.. Also glad they hit the pole and not someone else.. or your house.. imagine if you youngest was coming home.. Yikes..

    So I am grateful noone was hurt, and the power being off was worth anyone being hurt..

    Morning Mo! Yes it was a very weird Saturday!

    The Grandson was happy we showed up. We got to the laser tag place just as the kids were finishing up! LOL But we went back to their house and had a piece of cake. Did not get home until almost 9 last nite! He did like my present the best, well second best. His Mom and Dad are getting him a lizard today.

    Prize what prize? This was a contest? I am always a day late and a dollar short!

    Mo they were toys called Bokugaun (sp). I had no idea what the heck they were but they were on his list. It was a hit because I bought him two of the darn things and the cards and the fold up mat used to play the game. Evidently the two playing pieces fold up into a ball and then you throw them at each other and try to pop them open to reveal the character you are playing with. How you get points etc.... is a mystery to me. I think the kids like it because they get to throw things! LOL

    Lynn, OMG how horrible! I had that happen once in our neighborhood when I was raising my bros years ago...Sadly, the person died..It was a main light pole on the main street right near our house...We lost power for quite a while..Sad that so many choose to drink/drive!

    Carol This was a great song to listen to today. I do belive Michael Jackson was the one that got everyone organized to do this song and video. Oh, and Carol, regarding the sunglasses.     I have chicken breasts in the slow cooker(gonna add some cream of mushroom soup later)..Used my Rachael Ray stock in a box for the first time;)lol

    I am gonna make a fresh baked sweet potato to go with it and am thinking of sprinkling some Stove Top with cranberries on top and let it get crispy(1st time trying it...was on sale for 50cents a box)

    I think that's too many carbs haha

    Congrats once again to Shirley this morning!

    Kgirl heading to bed at 3:21am Hawaii time! For an early to bed person like me, that is just soooooo late haha! Or early!!

    WOW I haven't heard that song in years! It was a great pick for today Carol!

    I went to the store about 9:00 this morning and it was already in the 80s.

    Right now we are mid 90s and will be 100 by the hottest time of day here, between 3-4pm.

    We swept and vacumed the pool last night, so it is nice and clean and ready for us to jump in.

    Joey your slow cooker dish sounds good. I love making stuff with mushroom soup too. Sometimes I will take a can of it and add some sour cream, worsteshire sauce and seasonings, and the serve it over rice. It's soooo good! Like a stroganoff sauce.

    I have been trying to get the laundry done, so far the house is staying cool.

    Hi hooters,

    MEK we are primed for the 3 hour finale tonight... can't believe it's over already.

    Tomorrow is the end of DWTS, but the Bachelorette starts :)

    I hope Big Brother starts pretty soon.

    This afternoon, I called the wildlife hospital where I took that little bird on Weds. They ask you to wait 4 days to call and check on animals).

    Anyway, the woman I spoke to looked up the case # they had given me, and she told me she was sorry, but the little bird didn't make it.

    It had an infection in a joint of it's wing, probably from a cat bite.

    I was soooo sad to hear that.

    Goldie your dinner sounds yummy too!

    I wish we could have an owl pot luck, can you imagine all the goodies we'd have?

    Joey, I love Cyndi Lauper in that video too. I saw her perform as the warm up group on Cher's final tour. My daughter and I had a blast. They had a curtain up and we peaked over the top and she told us to get down because we might get hurt..lol. Really, I think she was po'd because she didn't have any privacy..lol lol. I love her though, so sweet.

    I am exhausted, the communion was great, I took a vid and will upload soon.. I have been trying to upload pics but for some reason my computer is not reading the card, not sure why tho as it read it in the past..

    And after the communion I had to go to my neighbors for a college graduation party..

    our internet just came back up - apparently, we are having a bad storm - hasn't rained here - the sky just looks REALLY nasty!!

    I hope everyone has eaten by now!! heck, most of us are either sleeping or should be going to bed...

    here's our dinner story...... I should have submitted this for a blog!! :-)

    we had cold stone creamery for lunch (yes, I'm starting to watch what i eat TOMORROW!!)..

    we decided that we'd have steaks - so we made a grocery list..

    Ribeyes were on sale - I had purchased a bag of potatoes on Thursday - so we didn't need those.. and the list goes on..

    SO- Mr. MEK comes home with ribeyes out of the glass case (we hardly ever do that) - they were wrapped so nicely in their little paper...

    mr. mek went outside to start the grill and I was in charge of the potatoes and salad and bread...

    i opened the five pound bag of potatoes that have been sitting on my kitchen counter since THURSDAY!! and the top two potatoes have those little sprouts coming out of them and felt a little "soft" - so i took those out - looked like there was dirt or coffee grinds in the bag - So - I dumped the bag out into my strainer like bowl - there were a couple of potatoes that looked okay and then I started to REALLY look at what was going on in the bowl......... OMG...... most of the bag - I can't tell you how many potatoes in all - had been eaten ALIVE with LIVE worms - there were worms EVERYWHERE in those potatoes....... I screamed - went looking for mr. mek - he was nowhere to be found..

    (turns out - Tug had run gotten out of the yard and he was down at the park where she was socializing with children) ..

    - SO - i took the worms and all - and into the garbage bin they went - thank God trash domes tomorrow.......

    anyway - i lost my appetite - felt like I had things crawling all over me - probably wont' sleep well at all........

    OH - and when i took the potatoes out to the trash - a flock of pigeons dive bombed my head - felt like i was in "The Bird" movie..

    Thank goodness that bag of potatoes was sealed up and nothing got out...... I wiped the whole kitchen down......

    SOOOOOOOOOOOO - that was our dinner!!!

    I didn't even open up the salad - I'm sure something would have been in that!!! YIKES!!!

    it will be along time before i purchase a BAG of potatoes if I can't see what I am getting...

    MEK I'm sorry your dinner was ruined. Sounds like you started watching what you eat today, after all. ;)

    MEK...that WAS disgusting! But, I am thinking you had special potatoes...our potatoes are only carbs, but yours were filled with protein, too!!!! Just kidding. I would have reacted the same way!! But I may have sealed the garbage bag and returned them to the store to get my money back and let them throw away the grossness!!!!
