Mary Poppins

there are some days that i just
wish i was mary poppins!

she was so enthralled with life and
looked at everything as being magical
it was like she can make the darkest
day be the brightest day

she never openly acknowledges her
strange and magical powers, yet she
was so willing to share, and she did
this in somewhat like a secret
making everyone wonder "did mary
poppins just do that?"

instead of making her magical being
known she just used a word, a very strange
word, but it just somehow made sense

it's a great word, don't ya think?

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

whether you worked at the bank
or you were a chimney sweeper she
treated all the same, with total respect

i would love to swoop down holding
my umbrella (well it would need to
be a double umbrella in order to carry me)
and landing on someones doorstep
just to make them happy!

it would be fun to be her, perhaps
in my next life, i shall get my wish!

ps
i loved writing this blog, it was
so much fun, and i adore julie andrews!

  3. Ahhh, yes...to be like Mary Poppins! I love Julie Andrews too. She is just so up-beat and probably never had a bad thing to say to anyone... The world could use more people like her!

  4. OK...I really AM going back to bed now (just for a little bit)! Then I have to get back up and start writing that paper that I didn't work on yesterday!

All those songs in Mary Poppins were great too...

  5. CPGEM: I LOVE Mary Poppins!! The movie is always fun to watch no matter how many times you see it. Who wouldn't want to be able to jump into a chalk painting, or dance on the rooftops or laugh til you fly?? Great blog and such wonderful images to carry me off to sleep! Maybe I'll even grab a spoonful of sugar!! Thank you for this!

Hi to everyone today! JENNIFER, nice bumping into you!

  6. Good Morning Jennifer. Congrats on first. Are you up early or not in bed yet?

Good Morning Zonababy - The same question goes to you.

It's 5:45 am here and I am not staying up. That's just too early. Why my 'babies' wanted me up this early I have no idea. I am going to try and sleep another hour.

  7. No-body answered me so I think my young friends have now gone to bed. I first saw Mary Poppins when I was expecting my first child in 1965. I loved it. I have the video and the DVD and my grandchildren and I have loved watching it many times. Julie Andrews is a Queen in my opinion. I adore her. By coincidence last night I watched her in "Princess Diary
2". She still looks so young. It is such a tragedy that a throat operation took her voice. She sang a song in this movie but it has only the range of 4 notes. (I learned that in the extra features). She used to have a range of more than 2 octaves. She is still wonderful in this movie. As I said before she is very much the Queen in real life as she is in his movie.

  8. Still no-one answers. I will try later. The birthday party for my grand daughter went great by the way. I am up now. I guess I might as well stay up. I will be back in a couple of hours.

  9. OMHeavns, OMHeavens, I have always been in love with Mary Poppins.

I was so excited to see her picture, now I need to go read the blog.

  10. I watched my Mary Poppins tape so much that it died.

So my MIL got me one a new DVD this past Christmas.

I was drawn to the movie due to Julie Andrews. She did a great job in the movie, but that is not the reason I was drawn to that movie.

I was drawn to her character for how she tried to make children happy.

At times I was unhappy as child and I had so wished Mary Poppins would have visited my house.

I also have read all the other Mary Poppin books.

Mary is certainly not a warm fuzzy type of person, but she knows how to get the job done with class.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Oh, heavens, I meant to say I was NOT drawn to movie, because of Julie Andrews.

She did a great job, but there were other reasons.

  14. Good morning jennifer, zona, tink and iteach. Congrats jenniho on 1st!!!!

I love Julie Andrews. I remember watching her as a child and always being in awe of her. I loved it when she was on The Carol Burnett show and they sang together too.
But Mary Poppins is one of my all time favorite movies.

Now I know what songs I am going to be singing all day in my head!

Jodi- I am looking forward to friday too!

I got busy yesterday and never seemed to get back on. All that effort to fix my computer and then I didn't use it. :)

  15. BTW, I know there will be owls like my sister who can't stand her.

Mary was a little bit of a control freak.

TINKA...Good Morning. SO gald the party was a success! Do you have pics up??? Did you bring us some cake? LOL

HOldie...Good Morning! At least you are here today! At least your computer is ready whenever you are!

  18. Good morning!

One of my favorite movies! I have it on VHS tape. Now I will have to watch it again one of these days!

I am working extra today, so will check back later.

My sassy bird is having a conversation with himself, talking, then he'll yell SHUT UP! I am cracking up.

(We didn't teach him to say shut up, his previous owner, who had a filthy mouth, taught him that and some various 4 letter words).

    Have a nice Sunday!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Good Sunday Morning to the earlybirds..Jennifer, Zona, Tinka, iteach, Goldie, Maureen, EBJ! Have a great day to all the Ho-lettes!

EBJ...your bird is hilarious! That would be a great thing to video and put on your myspace page!

It's the big 5-0, Nowmercy! Happy, happy birthday!

Julie Andrews...I cannot think of anyone else who is more attached to childhood movie and music memories than her! Mary, Maria, Cinderella! My very first album (remember those?!) I received was on my 6th birthday and was Mary Poppins...I was beyond excited to get it! My four older brothers tolerated one song and then it was replaced with the Rolling Stones. When my Mom and I were alone in the house we would put it on and sing at the top of our lungs...it became our thing. Sound of Music...same thing! Julie Andrews and my Mom...wow...great memories on a Sunday morning...thank you, CPGEM!

  34. Good Morning Owls!

    Nowmercy: Happy Birthday!

Waving Hi to the early birds:
Jennifer, Zona, Tinka, Iteach, Goldie, Mo, EBJ, VIG, Cpgem, Joey!

Deja vu! The last thing I did before going to bed last night was read an email announcing our theatre's Broadway Series for next season. I was so excited to see Mary Poppins on the list. Then, I wake up this morning, and there she is again. :)

I'm a little bummed, because we only have one show left this season, Jersey Boys in April, but I'm thrilled about the line-up next season:

    Legally Blonde
    The Color Purple
    Spring Awakening
    Cirque Dreams
    A Chorus Line
    Mary Poppins
    Sweeney Todd
    CATS
    Hairspray
    Rent
    Phantom of the Opera

I'll be counting the days until October. :)

Hope everyone has a fun, relaxing Sunday!

    Good Morning all!

JennHOfer way to go first you are catching on quick!

    Happy Birthday to our NOWMERCY!!

Ahhhh Mary Poppins holds a special place in my heart!

It is one of the first movies I remember seeing as a kid. My parents took us to the drive in to see it. Remember Drive ins??

I remember being in my PJ's with my little brother and a couple of cousins. We got to go play on the playground equipment first and then would settle in for the movie!

I loved Mary Poppins she made me feel so comforted.

Of course I saw her after Bambi, which scared the Holy bejesus out of me!! So Mary was a wonderful movie to experience!!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Good morning to the HOwls that have flown in lately! Have a great Sunday!

  49. First of all, Lynn D, I was cracking up at all the HO names yesterday!

    wHObbear. ROFLMAO!

Second, Carol, you seem to have hit an out-of-the-park home run with Mary Poppins... we all love her, and you!

Sing it with me, won't you, owls?

Early each day to the steps of the nest
    The dearest cpgem8 comes
In her own special way to the owls she calls,
"Come, read my blogs full of Mums
    Come feed the little birds,
    Show them you care
And you'll be glad if you do

    Their sharp minds are hungry
    And tolerate a bear
All it takes is comments from you
Feed the birds, respond to my blogs
Comment, Comment, respond to my blogs
"Feed the birds," that's what she cries
While overhead, her birds fill the skies

All around the cathedral the saints and apostles
Look down as she sells her wares
    Although you can't see it,
    You know they are smiling
Each time someone shows that she cares

Though her words are simple and few
Listen, listen, she's writing to you

Feed the birds, respond to my blogs
Comment, Comment, respond to my blogs...

  50. GOOD MORNING again. I can't name you all this morning. As you mentioned Ibebold, it's a busy place right now. When I got up, two little owls, I won't mention their names, slipped in, said good morning and if the rumours are correct slipped back under the feathers and went back to sleep. I hooted and hooted and couldn't wake any one up.

Carol - Happy Palm Sunday to you. Just one more week of lent and I can feast on chocolate. I have been very good this year, tempted a little when I was stressed but hung in there.

Joey - Glad you see you happy. I will check out those links.

Amicus - I wish we lived close together. I would love to see all those shows with you. "Jospeh etc" was my favourite.

    Nowmercy - Happy Birthday.

Maureen - I would like a high cholesterol breakfast of fried eggs and bacon, home fries with onion, toast and tea. I wonder if that will affect my weigh in at Weight Watcher's this week?

Everyone's age becomes apparent when you bring up a subject such as "Mary Poppins". Some were babies when it first came out, some weren't born yet and oldsters like me saw it as an adult. I was pregnant with my son so I guess he technically saw it too. One of my favourite grade one concerts was putting on the songs from M.P. The kids loved the fast songs like "Chim Chim Cheree". I loved "Feed
the Birds" and "Stay Awake", the lullaby she first sang to Jane and Michael. Dick Van Dyke was wonderful in it too. The movie won 5 Academy Awards. I think Dick should have won as well.

Dreama - I will watch out for
    "Puppy Love".

VIG and Iteach - Spring Break - Whooopie!!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow will be a busy day - St. Patty's Day so I am declaring a 'do nothing' day for myself and 'fur babies'. Sitting on the swing in the sunshine (if it lasts) sounds good to me right now.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Whabbear - Good Morning. Love your song. It should win an Oscar too.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Thanks, Tinkatia! And I agree with you completely, too. When it comes to awards, dick should always win!

    ReplyDelete
  53. WHOBBY...love your song! And I think you deserve a quote of the day...

"When it comes to awards, dick should always win!" ROFLMFAO!!

Hi DREAMA! Hope you are having a great day!

TINKA...it won't effect your weigh in...so have seconds!

LYNN...I remember drive-ins! I liked the playgound! And {{{hugs}}}...you know why!

    VIG...HOlarious!! too funny!

I am watching COPS...they are busting HOs!! I'm laughing my ass off!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Whabbear - My dear. Do I detect a double meaning there? You really are a rascally bear aren't you? Love you. Pink/Tink

    ReplyDelete
  55. Maureen - Thanks, I will have seconds.

Lynn D - Do I remember drive-ins? You bet. As a teenager we would squeeze about 4 couples into a car that should only hold 2. That way it was cheaper. Everyone had to behave too because there wasn't much room. (I could see the eyebrows lifting).

After I was married and had a family of 3 kids and 2 dogs we owned a Ford Econoline Van, you know the ones with the big tops. We would make down the beds, fill the fridge with food and go to a triple length movie. Only my husband and son ever made it through 3 movies. The girls, dogs and I would see maybe one. Those were great times. I was sorry to see the end of the Drive In's. Are there any left in any small towns I wonder?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Tink: Double meaning? Moi? Never!

    Uh oh. 'weenie, LOL@ "Whobby"!!

    HO, HO, HO!

  57. "Tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a bag" ........

I've only skimmed this morning's posts, but I'm loving it already. Wonder-filled Palm Sunday to all!

Mo~~You ROCK!! An elegant Sunday brunch with plenty vegan choices for the guest of honor. I sure hope she's able to stop in while everything's fresh. And, snausages even ~~ you're so thoughtful.

FABULOUS FIFTIETH TO NOWMERCY!! I haven't spoken with her yet today, but I know she had a date for the symphony last night and a party at a ceramics-making spot today, so she may be too busy making us all our own 'bOWLs' for our ButterShot drizzled ice cream later. Ya think?

Joey...thank you, thank you, thank you for sending me the Rosie video! It's great....love her and love Danny! (whispering...intern alert...intern makes appearance on video!)

Tinka..drive-ins were way too much fun! Didn't there used to be a great one, not that long ago actually, in Cassidy? Hope your day is a relaxing one!

  62. Whabbear - I can just see the innocent look on your face. I bet you were a student all teachers remember. Were you full of mischief then?

Bon Oregon - I have "Mary Poppins" DVD on in the background. I just heard "Tuppence a Day" and then you sang it.

Dreama - You can pass the word around that I have ordered a case of soap for all Night Owl's using that word. It is Lifebuoy soap. If you remember in "The Christmas Story", Ralphie said Lifebuoy tastes the worst. Also tell the Night Owls that I do not wish to be a Madame. I am retired from all kinds of work including that. LOL

  63. Bono....oops didn't see your post there. Yup, the Rosie vid is short but sweet. I still can't open it...but Joey sent it to me and it's on my comments page if anyone else wants to see it and can't!

  64. VIG - Yes Cassidy had a drive in up until a few years ago. We went there once just to experience a Drive In again. I guess the sound just wasn't High Tech enough for today's teens. Besides that I think they lost money by the number of people who drove off with the speaker still attached to the car.
I used to like the drive in restaurants too - Like the White Spot.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Tink- my hometown of about 10,000 in Southern WI still has a drive-in. Many a great memory there. Dad taking us kids, as teenagers sneaking in to it in the trunk of a car, makeout sessions. Sneaking cherry brandy in to add to the 7up we bought. But best of all- "Pizza #9" over the loadspeaker during the movie!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY NONMERCY!!

Waving a wing at everyone! Good morning to all who I signed on after me earlier.

    Carol-you have mail.

Thanks to you all for the great comments on my page...I'm sorry you had to do the Captcha thingy.
I didn't know it was like that.
jigglin FINALLY mentioned it to me and I took it off. I don't remember ever checking that box. jigglin said it has been like that for about a month now. I haven't messed with that page since I made my myspace page.
    anyways!!!!! it's gone now..

Wow! What a treat on Palm Sunday, A song just for me and the owls! It is very endearing, you do have a way with words! Even when you kinda switch them around so they have another meaning. I loved tinkas reply back to, Kudos to her.

And always wHObear, Kudos to you as well....And Thank You!

  70. Birdee,
That CAPTCHA comment option is not working on some pages right now so removing the check mark might not help. I don't have that box checked on my page or Tinka's, but the CAPTCHA is still being required. Yet another MySpace glitch! Let me know if you need the rolling pin again. ;)

  71. OH NO!!! I forgot today was Palm Sunday!!! YIKES!!! I don't always go to church when Katie (my daughter) isn't with me. My "faith" has suffered greatly in these last couple of years. However, I want Katie to have the values I grew up with.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I have a confession to make...

When I am in church I take a end seat on the aisle in the back. I just like to kinda be alone. Usually I am left alone in the pew, as no one wants to sit in the last row. Today being Palm Sunday church was crowded. Half way thru the mass I am approached to move into the pew to make room. I get out of the pew to let the people in. Two Adults and Two Children!!

Now I will be totally squashed..and very annoyed (which I should not be). As they pass me, I get the worst aroma, I have ever smelt. Sorry it was a gag smell. As I sat the smell got worse, I wanted to bolt, seriously, just run out as fast as I can. I did not, I just put my scarf around my neck and covered my nose with it for the rest of the mass. After communion I was out of there. When I reached my car I sprayed a whole bottle of bath and body coconut spray all over me, yes I keep a bottle in my car, as you never know when it will be needed...remember the bean blog!
    :O)

I felt really bad, that I felt that way. But heck, do some people not shower?

    Ok, I feel better now..

    ReplyDelete
  73. I can't believe I slept in so late! I need to STOP staying up so late...but you owls are so much fun!

Joey: Thanks for the links (I can't WAIT to order that shirt for my friend...her birthday is in June and I think that will be a perfect gift)!

iteach: I know what you mean about wishing Mary Poppins could come to your house! Being the only introvert in my family, I CRAVED for someone to interact more with me!

    ReplyDelete
  74. jennifer
No need to be craving interaction anymore, as the owls, are good at
getting interaction! In more ways then one...

    ReplyDelete
  75. I think this blog is a great opposite to rudeness. Julie Andrews is so dignified and is the model citizen in my opinion! She has aged so gracefully and I too love her in the Princess Diaries (as my daughter loves them too).

OK...I REALLY have to work on my paper. I moped around all day yesterday and now have NO MORE excuses! I have 8 pages to fill before tomorrow!!!

I'll miss playing in the nest! : (

    ReplyDelete
  76. I am off to my Aunt Jo's for a Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner, my mom cooked it and we are bring it over to her house!

Sorry, HOwlettes and HOwls, I am not a big Mary Poppins fan. Too much sugar for me!

To much sugar for you! LOL....

    ReplyDelete
  81. You know...I have to comment on nightowls (Carol?...I'm still trying to get everyone straight in here!) remark about church. That would have been a great one to add for rudeness. I can't stand it when there are certain people that come to church late EVERY WEEK (I can understand a time or two...we all do that), but as the norm. is NOT acceptable! It is SUCH an interruption (esp. if you have to move while you are "trying" to be focused). It is rude and I get angry too (which is not a good way to feel in church)! It does just ruin the moment for ya!

I can get a little claustrophobic and I HATE it when they cram people in (esp. for those of us who need our "space")!

    ReplyDelete
  82. OK...I mean it this time...I HAVE to get busy on my school-work and write that darn paper! (I've written so many this year that I feel I am running out of the usual "bs" that I fill my papers with that give me those A's)!

    I'll miss playing today... : (

    ReplyDelete
  83. jennifer
    Yes nightowls is me, Carol!

I agree, I def need my space as well. And to come in 1/2 way thru the mass.

Then I had to give them the sign of
peace (which is a handshake) I was freakin out. Good thing I had Bath and Body antibacterial gel in my pocketbook!

Yes, and it did take ruin the moment!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Ok..really gotta go now...

    See ya later!

  85. I'm totally losing it!!

Got to thinking...Oscar Hammerstein's, the King and I was Deborah Kerr, BUT I loved it anyway.

It's hell when you start loosing IT. I guess one of the reasons I care so much for you owls, is that y'all were kind enough not to mention my error. ~xoxoxo~

At least wHObbear didn't start sing Shall We Dance, just to be nice. lol

    I'll do better next time.

Birdee~ Always good to see your feathered friend (avatar)

Carol~ I love Mary Poppins, though I have to admit Dick Van Dyke is the main reason I watch it, especially the roof top & animated scenes.
    Happy Birthday Now Mercy!!

  98. hi! just stopping by to see if anyone is here!

    Mary/Mi..nice to see you too.

Amicus, thanks, I'll be sure to let you know if I need that rolling pin again. Now I would just like to know why I'm showing up as a friend of myself on my home page..I don't show up on my profile page though. I think some others are finding the same thing happening.

Maybe the next topic should be.. Why New and Improved Turns Out To Be... New and Worse!?

    ReplyDelete
  99. Well, nobody's here, so I guess I'll have to do something else for now.

Bedroom is kind of on hold, decided if we should put a new roof on and the guy said all the pounding could cause crack's in the ceiling. So no need to paint if we're just going to have to fix it all again. Maybe we'll start on putting a new floor in there first.

Think I'll go for a walk. It's a nice day here.

    Jenniho: congrats on #1

    Zona_almost_#_1: congrats to you too.

    Nowmercy: Happy Birthday to you...

Amicus: What a lineup for your new Broadway Series. My last show is Phanton in June and I too, love it every time I see it. Our summer series (the one I usher for) has just been announced:

    The Sound of Music
    Gypsey
    Sweeney Todd
    Swing (new for me)
    My Fair Lady
    Evita
    Hairspray

Except for Swing, I have seen them all, but I love watching musicals again. My favs are Chicago and Phantom. I saw Jersey Boys last summer and I loved, loved, loved it.

Take care everyone. Hope to be back later.

sacbarb: Yikes...not liking the new "ho" version...too much like Jenny (a name that is like nails on a chalkboard to me...right iteach?...I think you are the same)!

You guys are all way too fun...

    Last year was better.

BIRDEE~~Having worked on a few system upgrade projects, I think the central theme is usually "If it ain't broke, let's fix it!"

Everybody have a great Sunday evening. Time for a nap here. Zzzzzzzzzzz

    ReplyDelete
  109. bon'o: Of all those, I like Menopause the Musical the best. I've seen it twice and loved it both times. I even bought the CD.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Just flying by real quick!

I am so co-dependent or just have to much of the guilts but I keep reading about all of you going church for Palm Sunday and keep thinking maybe I should go.

I don't attend church and never have on a regular basis but the guilt is washing over me! LOL Maybe it is the Irish in my genetics!

    Yak at ya later!

  111. I have spent the whole afternoon trying to change my layout, music player and slideshow. I have a whole new respect for the work Amicus does. You will get many jewels in your crown in heaven Amicus. It is so hard to fine tune it. My colours clash plus a few other things but it will have to do. Thanks Professor Amicus for all your instructions. Maybe I will get an 'A' in my next attempt.

Tina - What did you do to my name? I didn't recognize it.

Birdee - Thanks for the birthday wishes for my grand daughter. We had a great time, except for my daughter who had to endure pain.

I wanted to leave my St. Paddy's Day layout up until tomorrow but I am hoping to have lunch with VIG this week so I thought I might not have time to change it. Besides, Easter is only one week away. I think there should be a law that Easter is always in April.
Is everyone having corn beef and cabbage for dinner tomorrow night?

Jennifer - Get back to work.

    ReplyDelete
  112. No, I will not be eating corn beef and cabbage. It doesn't agree with me.

Have a fun lunch with VIG! Now that sounds like fun.

    ReplyDelete
  113. I usually "celebrate" St. Patty's day with a Shamrock shake at McDonald's (because I love them and it's the only time they have them)!

Funny thing about corn beef and cabbage....Remember a few years back when St. Patrick's day feel on a Friday (during lent?)..all you Catholic Owls out there? Well, in our diocese anyway, they made an exception that you could eat meat on that day so everyone could have their corn beef and cabbage! I thought it was pretty funny that they couldn't wait a day later or before to have it! LOL!!

Lynn-D: I take it you must be Catholic by all that guilt?!

OK...I gotta go...3 more pages to go and then I have to do laundry (I have no more undies left)! YIKES!!!

    ReplyDelete
  114. Jennifer remember tomorrow is weigh-in day at work.

We don't wear our undies that day. :)

    ReplyDelete
  115. Oh JennHOfer, you need to check your MySpace!!! (said in a sing-song voice). :):):)

    ReplyDelete
  116. just lynn:

I see you and Tina are going to be the thorns in my side! Just remember...there will be retaliation when you both least expect it! Mwahahaha!(evil laugh)!

    ...you've been warned....!

iteach: Remind me not to sit in your chair tomorrow!! (I GOTTA wear my undies...)! I still say it's your brazier that you need to worry about (as those metal hooks could add up)! Just wear your thong and you should be fine! LOL!!!

    ReplyDelete
  117. My butt hurts from sitting in this chair too long writing my stupid paper!!!

    OUCH!!!

    ReplyDelete
  118. Tink...your new page looks fabulous! Great job! Really looking forward to lunch on Wednesday! Thank goodness for spring break..first time we have had the chance to meet and to be ladies that lunch!

    ReplyDelete
  119. iteach - I thought I was the only one who wore the least amount of clothing when I weighed in. I wear the same light blouse, slacks, no underwear or jewelry. I even leave my socks off. It's ridiculous because I think all of that makes the difference of a few ounces. I guess the main thing is that you weigh in with the same kind of clothes each time. Leaving the ear rings off always seems to help however.

    ReplyDelete
  120. VIG - Thank you for the compliment. I would like it better if I could have matched the 'pinks'. I will get the knack of it at time goes by. I found making a new slideshow quite a bit of work. Amicus is a great techie. She sent me instructions.

    ReplyDelete
  121. PinkTink Great job on your page! I'm impressed.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Tinkatia
You weigh in minus your underwear?! Too funny. I'm not even going to go there. ROFL Instead I'll go peek at your new Myspace lay out. congrats!

    ReplyDelete
  123. Just Lin - Thanks for the nice words about my page. By the time I finished with it I wasn't that pleased. Like so many other projects that I have worked on, it always looks better the next day. I think we get too close and too fussy. I shouldn't say 'we', it might just be me that does that. I know I can't expect it to look like Amicus' the first time I try.

Dreama - Have you never thought of weighing in with no underwear? Every ounce counts.

    ReplyDelete
  124. I just reposed Joey's video on Myspace bulletin's of the Rosie Cruise. Danny Noreaga from American Idol is a surprise guest on her cruise. I know there are AI fans in her so I thought I'd repost the video.

I weigh in at home and strip down to my underwear and I only weigh myself in the morning. My scales is digital and it only gives me pound or half pound. Yesterday I weighed 122. today I weigh 123. Scales is lying. I want to weigh 118. At the doctors office I won't let them weigh me until I take off my shoes and put down my purse.

  126. Did I just see the spirit of Renee Eve fly by?

    ReplyDelete
  127. Hello Owls,
Its been a very long time, since I posted. I needed a little break for a while. I still want to finish cleaning 3 more rooms. Then finish the bathrooms and kitchen tomorrow.

Tink I'm gonna go check out your new page.

Welcome Jennifer, I was just reading your new here and a friends of iteach, how nice.

When I get weighed from the doctor every 6 weeks I always wear the same things also. I just LOVE it when you go from pants to shorts, but HATE it when you go from shorts to pants. Maybe I should just wear a skirt.

I will try and post more. But this is a very busy week with getting ready for Easter. I am also going to see Horton Hears a Who with my first grader on Tuesday, then go run and get Easter Basket things. I'm glad I don't have Easter this year, my mother in law is having Easter and a sorta retirement celebration for Father in law who is retiring from Chrysler 3/31/08.

We also just found out tonite that my husbands, first cousin has breast cancer. Shes 44 and has 3 children. The doctor did say it was in the very early stage. He suggested a Lumpectomy with radiation. Its just so surprising, because breast cancer does not run in family. Their great-great grandmother lived until 98, their great-grandmother lived until 97, their grandmother lived until 91, her mother is 70 and she has never had it. Also, I know they say to go by the Mothers family, but even in her fathers family no one had breast cancer, shes the first. Her name is SallyAnn, and shes very scared. They are doing the Lumpectomy this week, I don't know when.

Ok back to Laundry, and cleaning. I put my mother to work on my cathechisum project for tomorrow, stuffing 12 egg cartons, with plastic eggs, & filling them with things to tell the Easter Story, Victor is helping her because its for his class. Its a very cute idea, I did not come up with it, our section head did, I will take pictures of it and put it up on myspace. Like in the first egg is Green Plastic Plants, for Palm Sunday, #2 has soap for washing of the feet, etc. I will post it on a blog on myspace and then post pictures of it once its done.

Sorry so long, I missed you all, and I hope to be back in semi force this week, and full force after Easter.

Oh, I taught my son Anthony to run the washer, HE LOVES IT> LOL

    Love to you All

  128. Renee - How nice to hear from you on the blog. You certainly keep busy. I pray that your husband's cousin will be fine. If they catch it fast she should be all right. It's scary though. I will add it to my prayers. I have been on the computer most of today so I think I will go and watch a movie. Take care. Love, Tinka.

Dreamatexas - You don't have to worry about your weight. I have seen recent pictures. It's all that horse racing you do, or is that you???????

SacBarb: I remember when you saw Jersey Boys. That's the show I've been the most excited about seeing this season. I have the CD and love it. Of the shows you listed, I've only seen The Sound of Music and Evita. I would love to see them all though! :)

BonO: On your list, I've seen Mamma Mia and CATS. I've heard Menopause, The Musical is hilarious! That would be a fun show! :)

Renee: Welcome back! Sending prayers for Sally Ann.

Zona: I'm excited about that one too. :) I ordered the revival cast recording earlier today so I can become familiar with the lyrics.

    Goodnight Owls! Sweet dreams.

  134. VIG: A picture disc is an LP that has a picture of the movie stamped on it..instead of being just black vinyl. Maybe if I close my eyes and click my heels together and say "There's no place like Canada.." ooops..wrong movie! ;)

AMICUS: I know all the lyrics..I'll sing them for you..ahemm. You wouldn't really want me to do that though.

JOEY: What did you DO?? ;) Congrats on 150!!
