Only The Owl Knows?

i love my _________
they can be worn anyway i
want with just about anything i
have, i am obsessed, i buy all kinds

i love all colors, and most styles
however i only take one size
i will spend up to $200.00 and
as low as $10.00

they get me where i need to go
sometimes we are friends and
there are time we are enemy's
and when we are enemy's i will smash
and scream, until we are enemy's no more

when i see them and i like them
my excitement overwhelms me
and i gotta have them

summer is my favorite, it is a perfect
season for them, they bring me yellow
on a sunshine day, they are what
completes me

you can share if you like, as i am
giving, but you gotta give them back
or i will hunt you down!

it is amazing how we love certain things
so much we would do anything
to have them, well just about anything
i draw the line at "porn" unless its a
celebration!

i bet you love ________ to
or do you love something other
than i?

:O)

  6. Good morning lynn (congrats on 1st) and Joey!

My first thought was crocs, then purses, the jeans. I have to think about what I truely love..

  7. Good Morning Glories!

Hey Joey! I was guessing purses! LOL

I can't think of anything I would pay $200.00 for! ROFLMAO

  8. Good morning Carol and Lynn (Yay #1 for you) and and to all the Owls who fly in after me. I am up and at 'em this morning to get all my chores done early. I am also going to start a stew in the crock pot for dinner tonight. I hope I remember how to make it, as I hardly ever cook anymore. LOL :)

I have read the blog and at this early hour I can't think of anything that I love that much, (that I can buy in a store anyway). I will have to give it some more thought.

Have a great day everyone. I hope to be able to swoop in again later to read about all of your obsessions.

I agree Lynn, I can't think of anything I'd pay $200.00 for either! lol
(*Someone somewhat famous is mailing me a used pair of $200.00 jeans-ROFLMAO-Enough about that..I just thought it was fitting to mention...I'd NEVER pay that much for jeans?!?)

  11. Well, I must say I'm not like the sterotpyical gay person who LOVES shopping for designer clothes, manbags and the like! haha

Even if I could afford it, it's just not "me"!

I would much rather throw my money into garage sales, flea markets, thrift shops and just plain 'ole good bargains!!

First of all, you get WAY more for your money...and I think one person's trash is another person's(mine) treasure!

Don't get me wrong, there are certain things I LOVE buying new! I just don't have a particular passion for anything like shoes, etc. lol

  12. Good morning, to the morning Glory lady. Hope you are well today and Congratulations on 1st.

Interesting blog Carol, and in response to the fill-in-the-blank for something I have to have are sandals. Many different colors and styles. I have always enjoyed all the happy colors and styles that sandals come in and have very many pairs. Only thing is that I don't loan them to anyone, but then again, noone has asked.

Nothing I like better than a pretty pedicure and a good looking pair of sandals, maybe sporting a little bling bling.

    Congrats on 1st Lynn D!

    Great blog Carol!

    Happy Birthday Tinkatia!!

    Breakfast

Toast (white, WW, brown or raisin)
    Eggs any style
    Fresh fruit
    Classic waffles
    Blueberry waffles
    Chocolate waffles
    Cinnamon waffles
    Nova Scotia maple syrup
    Jams, jellies, marmalade and PB

Pink lilies for everone, except Tinkatia gets a dozen for her birthday.

My guess would be flip flops or shoes. I don't wear either. I have one pair of sneakers that gets me where ever I need to go. My sister has about twenty pairs of flip flops in assorted colors. She is always buying new ones. I have a friend who is always buying purses. One is enough for me.

  17. The only thing I can think of this morning is when I go to garage or estate sales and come across a piece for my collections.

Before we leave the house my stomach is a flutter and the anticipation builds. I pull up to the first sale and I just know I am going to find a treasure.

Usually I do a quick run through and.....nothing unless you want the broken clock made in china.

Then the process starts all over again as I approach the next sale and I am all a tingle again. Could this be the one, could I find that elusive something here in this house that is blah and boring??? I do a quick eye scan and at first I see nothing and then.....wait what is that behind the paint by numbers masterpiece no it couldn't be.......Yes Yes Yes it is!!! I stroll casually over to it appraising as I go, my face blank and my stomach jumping, don't want to start a rush to that corner.

OMG it is the water pitcher to my Universal Potteries dinnerware set circa 1930??? Wahoo I pick it up carefully check it for nicks or cracks or any glaze defects. OMG it is perfect!

I check the price and almost fall over it is marked $10.00. I cradle it lovingly in my arms and race to pay for it!

Whew I am elated and happy and have that glow of finding a piece I have been searching for and I did not even come close to paying market price!!!!

Crap I think I need a smoke after all of that!

  18. I love purses and jeans and Born brand shoes and sandals.
But the thing I love most is my lipshitz.
Can't live without it and usually it is Blistix medicated.

Good morning sacbarb and ronnie. Ok, back to my regularly scheduled job (dang it anyway)!

  24. OMG...I'm not paying 200.00 for sandals, maybe good dress shoes, but not sandals. I guess the most I've paid is about 125.00

I guess the nice thing about shopping and when you live alone, is you don't have to come home and justify the cost. lol

    ReplyDelete
  25. Okay, here's my theory.
The more pair of shoes, the less you wear each pair, and if you buy good shoes that are not 'fad', they last for years.

I think that sounds right...well to me anyway. lol There, I justified it to myself.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Good morning!

    Happy Birthday dear Tinkal!

    Congrats Lynn D!!

I can't think of anything besides a purse that I've spent big bucks on.

I have a few old pairs of Birkenstock shoes that I love. They last forever and mine are all very worn. They are sooo comfy!

Shirley, you always have the best meals. Yum! And thanks for the flowers too!

OK will check back, have a nice day today!

    SacBArb--
    Ronnie--
    Shirley--thanks for breakfast..and the flower..
The only thing I can think of that would fit this catagory for me is shoes... not because I am obsessed , but because I have BAD feet... I used to have to pay crazy amounts of money for tennis shoes... with padded heels..(I have heel spurs)..
now that CROCS have come out...I have sooooo many pair of them... all colors... but my feet thank me everyday I wear them...

IBB: Crocs are goood! Just don't let Whoretina see you in them! She might tackle you and rip them from your feet. She has a croc phobia! LOL

Joey: I am with you! I want a bargain!!!!

EBJ: Good Morning to you! Birkenstocks are very comfortable! I wear the knock offs tho! LOL

Ok waving at everyone who posts after me I have to run!

  31. O.K. On yesterdays topic... Packing P-Nuts.. if you have a packing and shipping store near you... please recycle these... and the stores are glad to take them.. at least we are glad to see them come through the door..
I have lots of bins in my kitchen... one for magazines... one for cardboard... The aluminum cans... And our town is wierd.. you can only recycle #2 plastic... I don't understand this... but 2 is the most popular... ..

And Joey In Virginia we have recycle centers in all towns... you have to haul it all to them... In the cities they will give you bins for some items.. and have a schedule of days they pick them up.. hope that helps you..

I unplug unused appliances like the toaster, mixer, blender...

And with a well.. I only wash full loads of laundry... and dishes , Don't have a dish washer.. and I wash a bunch at a time then turn water on to rinse them all at once... never leave the water running all the time...
hope everyone has a great day...
    off to run errands...

    ReplyDelete
  32. Good morning to everyone!

Wow...I thought this would be easy to answer..but it's not! I am not one to buy a lot of new clothes or shoes. I wear everything pretty much until it falls apart..not a pretty picture, I know. I don't have a purse..did I just hear a collective intake of breath?? LOL! I love to listen to music...but buy as I might, I rarely open anything new. I think what I love..is buying things I know others will like and giving these things to them. That makes me happier than anything. I don't know if that fits the blog topic CPGEM..but it's what I love to do. I am thrilled when I happen across something that I know a friend would love. And I am so excited to hear or see their reaction when they open it. I guess this is what makes me happiest of all.

LYNND: Congrats on FIRST!! I loved your dance!! :) You should walk through this house..I'm sure you would find a tresure trove as my mom collected everything!

JOEY: I'm with you! $200 is a repair bill to me! LOL

SACBARB: Stew?? Did I hear..stew?? Some please??? ;)

RGIRL: Can I borrow your sandals?? ;)

SHIRLEY: YAY!! I'm finally here for one of your wonderful breakfasts! Thank you!

GOLDIE: My sister is a lipshitz junkie too! Wait til I tell her your name for it!! LOL!

VIG: Just wanted to thank you again for the great blog yesterday. WTG Auntie Nort! :)

TINKA: My dear sweet friend..may you have the most wonderful birthday ever and may every single one of your wishes come true!!! Happy Birthday. love you. :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. IBB: Happy with the final three??

Oh..but you underestimate TINA's loathing of Crocs...it is legendary!! LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Of course you may use lipshitz - hey maybe I should trademark that..

Good morning to all who came on after my last posting. If I continue to name people thru the day, i will surely miss someone.

The single most expensive thing I own is a Cole Haan purse-hang on to your hats - it was $500.

Now, the reality is that it was a gift from my sister and I love it- but it scares me to carry it! Women have commented on it and it is a great purse, but holy crap, nothing I put in it is worth the cost of the actual purse!
I mean in reality who spends $500 on a purse?? (other than my sister). You should have seen my face the day we shopped and she bought a Prada leather purse.....
I am willing to go to about $85 bucks but that it it!

  40. Good Morning Friends - Thank you all for the birthday wishes. I am just waiting a while and then I am going to see my mother. Then home for a nap and off to my daughter and family. We enjoyed the dinner and movie last night. I don't know how to explain 'Smart People'. We had the most fun analyzing it afterwards. If anyone saw it and completely understands it please message me.
Shirley - Thanks for the waffles for breakfast and for the roses.

Zona - I couldn't believe it when your present arrived yesterday. You probably could hear my squeals of joy in Az.

I have no obsession for clothes. Teddy bears are another matter. I don't know when too many becomes too much. I haven't reached that point yet.

I will try and check back later. Thanks again. You owls are wonderful. Love, Pink/Tink

  45. Lynn d - congrats on Number 1

Joey - LOL - are you afraid that I will turn into the spelling police!! NEVER!! :-)

    TINKA - HAPPY BIRTHDAY

SacBarb - I'm sure the stew will turn out JUST fine - what time should I be there??!!

Ronnie, Shirley, EBJ, IBB and Zona - HOWDY!!

Cpgem - thanks for the great blog..

The first thing that came to MY mind was CROCS - LOL - but then I thought about Tina - BUT - I am obsessed with them - they are the UGLIEST shoe EVER invented, but they are SOOOOOOOOo comfortable - I have them in EVERY color and STYLE!!! It's pretty scary!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. AND - when I was working - I would never think twice about plopping down a fortune for anything that I liked that I wanted to buy!! I have the ability to walk into a store and go directly to the most expensive thing that they sell - it's just in my blood!! LOL

I like to purchase in bulk!! If I find a pair of walking shoes that fit perfectly - I'll get two pairs - CUZ, it never fails - when that pair wears out - the one that I like has been discontinued or redesigned!!! (and not in a good way!!)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Goldie - congrats on 25 and FIFTY!!

I seem to be here ALL alone now!!

    LOL

Bono - from last night - I agree with you about Idol - when this thing started - there was NO way I would have spent two hours straight voting for David Cook - (I am NOT a rocker) - BUT- he is hands down the BEST singer in the competition and I am SICK of little David - I also agree that Jason, Brooke and Little David can go home any time now!!

Just Lin - i guess juicing up the phone for Custard - is a good excuse to stop dialing!!
    :-)

Thanks for all of those who helped with the dialing..

    ReplyDelete
  48. MEK, you never cease to AMAZE me! :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. EBJ - I hope that is AMAZING in a good way!!! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  50. Good Morning Owls!

    Tinka: Happy Birthday!!!

Cpgem: This doesn't fit all of your descriptions, but musical theater is my obsession. My CD, video, and book collections are a reflection of that. :) When I fall in love with a musical, I enjoy learning as much as I can about the characters.

    Speaking of musical theater...
On last night's Idol, I loved how Andrew Lloyd Webber emphasized the importance of understanding the words and their relevance to the story. His passion for musical theater was obvious in all of his advice.

Sadly, I was disappointed. What bothered me the most was how the contestants didn't understand the lyrics they were singing. I really wish Idol would stop doing musical theater, because they're doing it more harm than good.

If you love musical theater and enjoy a sarcastic sense of humor, here's the best review I've read of last night's show. I'm still laughing at his Gerald Butler comment. :)

Thanks Amicus. I agree. I love Phantom of the Opera and it pained me sometimes last night to listen to the music... Just saying.
I did vote though and boy it took forever to get thru for David Cook!!! But I did my part. No more bitching if someone goes home and I didn't vote.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Goldie - I voted for David COok for two hours straight and only got ONE busy signal - we had Bono and Just Lin voting their little fingers off also!!!

Bottom three will be Shyesha, Brooke and Jason - hoping Brooke goes home - she gets too many 'do overs'!!!

Goldie I cracked up when I read your LIPSHITZ!!!! hahahahaha!!

Lovey yes I'm a Birky fan, I can't wear them to work, but I wear them around the house and to do errands.

I have a new pair of Crocs that I'm trying to get used to. Those are so popular with nurses, they are supposed to be very comfy.

    So far I like them!

One night recently we were at a restaurant for dinner, and I saw a little boy about 2 years old who had on purple Crocs! Too cute!

Sorry I forgot to tell you happy anniversary! I meant to but didn't sign back on last night.

Hope you had a wonderful day!

  62. EBJ-- My nephew has camo and red, white and blue crocs... He calls them water shoes!!

Today at the grocery store .. I guess because of Earth Day.. they had the cloth bags on sale 5/$4.00... so you know I got 5...
    theres #3...

    ReplyDelete
  63. See how you are ... I am sending you a message on my space and you march without me!!!
    Congrats on 100...

    ReplyDelete
  64. goldie, great march! "This is just killing me" lol

ibb, I'm planning on buying cloth bags the next time I go to the store. What do you mean by #3, and about how large are they?

    Are there different sizes?

    ReplyDelete
  65. I sound like a little kid asking so many questions.

    "Are we there yet, Mommy?"

    ReplyDelete
  66. Ronnie.. By #3 I meant it was my
3rd on my list from yesterday!!!
the bags are good size.. I just mearsured them... 12 wide 13 high 8 deep... sturdy cloth nice handles.. at this store only one size.. It is a Martin's... I'm sure they are a regional store..

    ReplyDelete
  67. ibb~We don't have that store here, but maybe Krogers or Wal-Mart has them.

Do you think they will hold at least the amount of stuff that 3 Wal-Mart bags would?

    ReplyDelete
  68. and depends on what you are putting in them...
i had my milk(gallon) and all my meat stuff in a bag and still had room for more..

    ReplyDelete
  69. Thanks, ibb.

I think I might need 3 bags. You know what? They really wouldn't be that hard to make with a good quality canvas, just need to put sturdy straps on it.

    I Appreciate the information.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Ronnie...Hey no problem.. But yes great idea about making some...

    ReplyDelete
  71. OK, I am back from the store, bought all the stuff for the stew, and MEK, we are eating at 6-ish. It's already in the crock pot.

And, in addition to the stuff I needed, I also bought scrapbook glue. Did I NEED scrapbook glue? Hell no, but it was on sale! Actually, it was a close out at the gross-ry store, so I really HAD to buy it. It was so cheap, I bought all they had.

Now, about today's blog. I wouldn't pay just anything for scrapbook stuff, but I do keep buying stuff. I may be able to rival MEK with all the 'stuff' I have and I, too, keep buying more. So far, I haven't paid $200 for anything, but I have been thinking about a Cricut for a long time and they are way over $200. I'll keep you posted on that front.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Goldie: I would imagine last night was painful for ALW too. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  73. I didn't know we were counting scrapbook stuff in this... that is a whole other story then!!!
    whispers...I have the cricut!!both of them.. I don't know why...must collect!!

    ReplyDelete
  74. AMICUS--

AI was painful for evryone last night...

    ReplyDelete
  75. IBB: TWO Cricut's! WOW! I am jealous.

Goldie: I think I am addicted to lipshitz. I keep one in my purse and every room in the house, that way I don't have to walk too far when I need it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  76. Well, hOWLdy y'all! Time to stop in over a late lunch. I'm housebound by pollen and 40 mph wind gusts today so washing windows and taking down & cleaning drapes and curtains. My least favorite Spring task.

Carol~~Could your mystery fetish be sunglasses? At first I thought jeans, but who could ever find all kinds of jeans that actually FIT in the same size? Then I thought shoes, but would you really SHARE them? And Crocs, specifically? Haven't seen any for $200 yet. Then I thought of purse/handbag, but one size only? That's my irresistible item, but one size? Although, they must have room for Organizer, book or mag, 2 pair of glasses, digital camera, so maybe. Nah, I'm stickin' with sunglasses.

Too many posts to comment on, already, but~~

Tinka: Hope your day is a wonderful milestone!

BarbWa: Glad I could help you reach a milestone of your own!

Ronnie: I can see you starting your own cottage industry, making canvas shopping bags (maybe in a nice owl-print camo?) btw, the indestructible 4-strap (short and shoulder) Costco bags are 11" x 20" and 14.5" deep.

    ReplyDelete
  77. GOLDIE - You're just a marching fool today......I LUV IT!!! As much as I love purses.....I would NEVER spend any more than MAYBE $75.00 on one. I can appreciate quality Dooney & Bourke, or a Coach......but I'm a bag whore I guess and would rather have more!!! Perfect example......the new spring purse I just bought on Monday at Shopko......regularly $19.99.....I got it 30 % off.....so I only had to pay around $13.20 plus tax for it!!! I love shoes...

    www.zappos.com!

    My favorite!

    Fun :O)

    ReplyDelete
  89. And yes I would pay $200.00 for a pair of shoes, under one condition!

I pay cash, or I use a credit card with a 0 balance and a low interest rate. Two months and its paid off!

    ReplyDelete
  90. CAROL - Shoes!!!! I love them too, but it's the same with purses......love to get a deal. I guess when you have 3 kids, all that "fancy" stuff takes a backseat to what we really "need".
