Crazy Lady!!

crazy day @ work yesterday
multitasking, delegating all day
it never stopped
i tried to stay in control

no way, i lost it, crazy me

the room cleared, and it
was just me, this crazy lady

owning a business
can be very stressful

does anyone
ever listen
can i be in
all places
at all times

as others might think at work
i do not have 20 fingers
and 20 toes, and eyes in
the back of my head
i am here to tell them i do not

it will never get
easier, i know this
it is what i signed up
for, i have the corporation
papers to prove it

my business
my baby

would i change it?
absolutely not

will i still complain?
absolutely
each and every day

i am me, i can't be another!

  9. Good Morning Mek - First in line., Joey, and Goldie. I would still be sitting at yesterday's post waiting for it to change if I hadn't started over again. Then I found there were 9 comments already written. I thought as soon as the quote went up the blog would change before my eyes. At my age I am still learning something. I guess that is a good thing.

    Happy Birthday Lynn

  10. I must still be asleep. I accidentally deleted my post. All it said was "I knew you were there Joey. I would have been talking to you if I had been in the right nest. Imagine not knowing our own nest. Another senior moment."

  25. Crazy Lady - I used to feel like a crazy lady some mornings trying to get three little kids dressed, fed, into their snowsuits, into the car to go to their grandparents and then rush off to school to face kids, teachers, parents, and the Principal. It has been said that a teacher interacts over a thousand times a day with different people of different ages.
You get home, rush through making dinner, getting the kids bathed, into bed, read to, do the evening chores, get ready for the morning and fall into bed. It started all over again the next day. The weekends were busy doing more chores and getting ready for the next week. Sometimes I felt like one of those hamsters that I kept in the classroom. They jumped on their wheel and never stopped until they were dizzy. When the summer would come and life slowed down I wondered how I would be able to get back on that wheel. Somehow I did. A luxury for me would be to be all alone in a bubble bath with quiet all around me. Without those few moments a day to be alone and I would have been a crazy lady.
Then the years went quickly by. Now I look back on those days with such fondness. I am now surrounded by quiet moments and look forward to the days when the kids and grandkids are here making lots of noise and mess.
Life goes on. Now I feel like a crazy lady when I constantly misplace things, when I get to my grand daughter's baseball game only to find out I have laid down my purse on the front steps while I am locking the door and have to go right back to retrieve it. I feel like a crazy lady at least 3 times a week. I guess I should be thankful. I still can remember what I had for breakfast. Is that the next step? Oh God I hope not.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I am off to check messages and have breakfast. I will check back later to see how many other crazy ladies we have in the nest.

  27. Happy Birthday Lynn D!

Hope you have a fun day!

Zona, I have not signed into Myspace for a while, but wanted to tell you that Paula is doing good. She is on her last week of antibiotics. My huz is taking her to the vet Friday morning for lab tests.

We will then decide what to do next. I have a feeling that she will stay on the sub-q fluids for some time. But that's ok.

I hope everyone has a nice day today!

  72. Carol....I can certainly empathize, especially lately. I am "supervising" the rehab of the house next door to me so that my MOTHER (picky, picky Mother) can move there. The people that bought her house want to move in 2 weeks!! TWO FREAKIN WEEKS!!! (Did I mention that my Mother is picky?) Now, I have rehabed houses many times before...but never so quickly! AND I can't really do much of the work myself any more, which means I have to depend on others. I exploded yesterday when the painter dude told me he had to go pick up his teeth! Poor guy was toothless and I'm yelling at him to schedule these things after work...Sheesh

lovey- I ADORE escargot in garlic butter.

I am thinking we should serve my brownies first so that everyone has more appetite for all that good food being served. For some reason they always seem to give me the munchies......

This whole menu has me drooling. And yes, I can eat that much potato salad thank you very much...LOL

  125. Carol..thank you for the blog today. And please don't be another...you are perfect the way you are.

And how's this for the craziness of work. I was out my door by 7am this morning...drove for four hours and managed to hit the rush hours of three cities and got to the school to find out my student is not there today! Argggh! Oh well, now I get to sit in a lovely cyber cafe, eating a lovely foccacia sandwich and drinking my favourite lovely soy chai tea and am taking a break by visiting the lovely Owl's Nest. The rest of the afternoon will be working via e-mail and then more driving to another town to see a student there tomorrow. A part of this job that I really like is I never know what the day will bring...everyday is so different.

Lynn_D...happy, happy special day! Hope you have a fabulous birthday!!!

Tink...I was tired just reading what your day was like! Glad you are having some restful days now to make up for all those years of busy days!!

Joey...the invitation is way cool! You are a very talented owl!!!!

Bono...can I add my contribution to the menu? So thinking in terms of regional fare..I will add to the desserts with Nanaimo Bars ( don't know what that is?....google!!!). And because there is a large Asian influence in my part of the world, I will contribute my specialty of Vietnamese Salad Rolls with peanut dipping sauce. And just because, I will also add in chai tea lattes!

    ReplyDelete
  126. Gosh, I'd almost forgotten how much fun it is to watch a ((Love, Goldie, Jodi)) throwdown!!

    Amicus~~1 Pasta Salad Toss added!

VIG~~Will now add your treats...make sure there are LOTS of Nanaimo Bars! And, you have no idea how close I came to adding our famous "Oregon Chai Tea Lattes"! Opted for the champagne instead and didn't want to hog the beverage menu.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Hey - looking at the menu made me think of all the fantastic food and recipes. Just a thought here, (one of my few) How about one day we do a recipe day where everyone (who wishes too) posts a favorite recipe. Can you imagine the great recipes we would all have? Our own version of an Owl cookbook.
Pretty sure Jodi is not parting with the damn potato salad recipe (some crock about old family secret....lol) but I would love some of the others I saw.
