84 years of Life!

I could not let today go by, without acknowledging my dad's 84th birthday. He has seen so much in his lifetime, and has been witness to many life altering changes. Some of these changes have been good and some bad, however they were, he always prevailed.

He has taken care of his family unconditionally, and we love him dearly. Even in times of annoyance, I can always find and feel the love.

So to my dad, I say, Happy Birthday, may you always be blessed with health, happiness, longevity and of course me. :O)

The video today that I share with you is some of my dad's favorite musician's, this is what entertained him in his younger years, this is what made him happy, he loves music, so I give him this today so he can be reminded of some wonderful memories.

Enjoy!

Carol, Happy Birthday to your dad! I grew up on this music too! My uncle played piano and every Sunday after dinner he played and these are the songs everyone sang. Thank you

  8. I think I should have stayed in bed. My computer wouldn't post my little comment. Then it posted it 4 times. I came downstairs because it wouldn't let me delete. Now the trash cans have disappeared off my page.

  9. Talk about messing up the nest so early in the morning. The trash cans finally re-appeared but it still wouldn't let me delete. Now we have 4 spots taking up space, which mess up the morning count. Sorry about that owls.

  10. Good Morning Shirley - I was trying to say 'Hi' a half hour ago. I have never had trouble posting before.

Good Morning Grandma Moses and Donna. I will be back later. I need to give the computer and my nerves from all of this computer silliness a rest. Be back in ten minutes.

  18. Carol my Dear - Thank you two-fold. First for deleting the comment that posted four times and wouldn't let me delete them and secondly and more importantly starting my day with such fun. By the time I had watched and laughed over the video, my previous frustration was forgotten. I am going to watch that video a couple more times. I can't wait for Zona to see it. She will love it.

  19. Thanks for all the Birthday wishes for my dad, the truth, I did not want the blog to be all about my Dad, however, I had no other thoughts, so I left it to be...

Since we have had some unrest here at the nest, I have not gotten any blog submissions (except for iteach, thank you) It has become very hard for me to write a daily blog everyday, when blogs were sent my way, it gave me a break, I was able to regroup and collect my thoughts, enjoy my evening, reading, watching TV, etc..

The nest was originally a group effort, some owls have left us, and I find myself trying to hold up the nest by myself. As I have said always, I cannot do it alone.
The nest was not about me, it was about the group of us.

I know some are afraid to comment, and to send me blogs, in fear of repercussions, I understand.

I need feed back, I need to know what to do, I need to know if this nest has collasped, or if we can get thru this as a group.

I am at work, I really need to start my day, I will come back later, to see what everyone thinks.

If the nest does not survive, please all of you know, you are all very special to me, I have found here what I thought never existed...

    Thank you all!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Tinka:
You are welcome my friend, and thank you for starting my day with a smile, just seeing your name..

    :O)

    ReplyDelete
  21. And BTW...

My dad's name is Frank, however my family calls him Cici or Cheech which is a Italian nickname for Frank...

    CiCi is pronounced ChiChi..
Cheech is pronounced just as in Cheech and Chong...

My lesson is over for the day!

    :O)

  22. Now I have some Good Mornings to catch up with --

Good Morning Carol, Joey and Iteach.

Iteach - I have all my doors and windows open too. I love that early morning freshness. We haven't had very many days this summer when we could do that. It has been too cool until about noon. We are having our first heat wave, 3 days of temperatures almost 90. Then it cools back to 78 again. It has been a short summer, weather wise.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Carol - We can't let the nest implode. It is too valuable. Zona and I were talking last night about how much work you have put into blogging and asking for blogs. Since we are in the dog days of summer we thought maybe an idea would be for the last couple of weeks to just put on some nice video each morning. People could send in their ideas of a song or a clip they liked. If you just posted a song or a T.V. clip it might bring up some memories that owls have or we might just talk about what we were planning on doing that day. I think you need a summer holiday but we don't want to lose our beautiful nest. You have done such a great job.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think I have the most conceited little brown owl in the nest. He is like my baby grand daughter, just loves his picture taken. Each morning he counts and sees how many times his picture shows up. I have totally lost control of him.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Joey - I know whose birthday is coming. We also have a couple of other very important owls who have birthdays in August. We should call it Birthday Month just one more good reason for a good party.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Carol - I grew up with the music of the Rat Pack too. They were always so entertaining. Dean Martin's show was one of the best I think.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh, Hello Grandma Moses! I didn't see you when I first looked.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Shirley - Strawberry crepes with whipped cream. Now that's my idea of a perfect breakfast. Of course I will take my Slim Fast for lunch, to make up for the fattening breakfast.

I am going to check out myspace and come back.

    ReplyDelete
  29. A a good morning to iteach, Joey & Carol too!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Bebbi - I was busy yesterday and didn't get to read all the comments. What is wrong with your knee?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Carol, I'm here and always will be.

I will support you no matter what happens.

I like Tink's idea about the music clips.

It would be neat if we all took turns sharing our favorite song, that would last for a whole month!

Or a favorite TV scene like I did with Rhoda, that would take another whole month!

Just thoughts, I'm open to anything.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Iteach - I love watching clips from old shows. That Rhoda one was great. We were going to send in our baby pictures too. That's always fun guessing.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I really am determined to mess things up today. I looked at the "84" from the title and typed in 85. I am not going to delete it. I will leave it there to remind myself to think before I post.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Carol: If I were to write a blog, where/how would I submit it? Do I contact you via MySpace?

    ReplyDelete
  35. 45 ---- Now we are back to the correct number of posts.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yikes - No we aren't because Donna stepped on me. (No harm done Donna).

    ReplyDelete
  37. Now you're back on track Tinka! :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Now we are right.

Donna - Just e-mail your post to Carol.

    ReplyDelete
  39. It's probably right under my nose but what is Carol's email address?

    ReplyDelete
  40. No Carol we cannot let the blog implode. I am sorry but I feel that is what some people would love to see. This is a sanctuary to so many and we need to move forward.

I am sorry some have moved along but really that is their loss.

I did not realize you were short of blogs. I think the video idea put forth by Tinka is grand.

I will also rack my brain and try to write a couple of blogs for you!

We do have to realize that is also summer and people are in and out with vacations, and work and family obligations.

I love and respect what you have done here and will try to be more diligent at sharing the load my friend! (((Hugs)))

    cpgem - (((HUGS))).....

I need to get busy with errands -

so - I hope you all have an excellent day!!

    :-)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Ya'll are busy - when I started typing - there were 40 posts...

Tinka marched to 50 - congrats!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Carol: Happy Birthday to your Dad!

I agree with Audrey; implosion is a very unattractive option. To prevent it, we who have a vested interest in the nest have to step up to the plate and support you. That means we have to provide blogs. Simple as that.

And so, I pledge to do so! You will have a blog from me by tonight!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Here's my two cent...

This blog has come to a fork in the road. Do we take the path that leads to oblivion or do we take the other path that lets us carry on?

A lot of owls have not commented in several weeks. I don't understand the reason and I probably never will. Feelings have been hurt, but is there no way to get past the hurt? It takes so much energy to be angry. Is there no way to get past this? Aren't we all adults? I don't know of any place that everyone gets along all the time, but this place sure comes close. Can't we agree to disagree? For those of you who have been hurt, can't you talk it out? Where did everthing go wrong?

Carol you have to do what you have to do. I understand that you can't write if the flow isn't there. I have to feel "it" before I can write "it". To be expected to write a blog everyday must be stressful. I will try to come up with some topics, if that will help. Tinka and Zona's idea sounded good. But Carol if it isn't fun for you anymore then you have to stop.

    ReplyDelete
  45. If this blog ends, I'm taking it personally, because I just got here! :(

    ReplyDelete
  46. Hart no don't do that! We love you already! I can tell you, you smell divine like watermelon and you are so beautiful in your Avatar with those wonderful colors and your posts are divine! (((Hugs)))

    ReplyDelete
  47. I agree with Whabby and will have a blog done by tonight!

PS we love that the blog is about your CiCi birthday! So send him some ((Hugs)) from us!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Good Morning Everyone!

Shirley...I agree with everything you said. I think that when we lose people it is OUR loss too.

I think that we, as part of the blog, need to be careful about developing cliques and as a result make others feel unwelcome.

Carol..I commend you on doing what you do, coming up with a blog everyday must be very trying at times.

I also think that Tink's suggestion is a good one. Maybe those that submit clips could do a little blurb on why they chose it? That would allow us to continue to get to know each other better.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Donna - I will message Carol's e-mail addy to you. I know she has posted it but I don't feel comfortable posting someone else's address. Check your messages. Love, Tink

    ReplyDelete
  50. HOLY CATS!!!! I am in Heaven this morning...CPGEM..thank you for the clip! I just loved it..and loved it and loved it again!! Wow...

Happy Happy Birthday to your Dad..and may he have many more years of happiness and wishes that come true!

Good morning to all!! You might have to look UP cuz this video has shot me to Cloud 9!!

    Off to read the posts...

    ReplyDelete
  51. OK..now I feel bad..I got halfway through the comments and saw CPGEM's post.

CPGEM: Tink and I were talking last night about it being hard on you to write a new blog every day..and I've sent you an email with what we thought might help. We all appreciate all you do, and know it's very difficult. I hope with all my heart that this blog is sustainable because it is so unlike any other place. I was looking forward to sharing the march towards the holidays with everyone...so I hope that as a group we can figure this out.

Back to reading...though a little more subdued now.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Good Morning Mek, Whabbear,
    Scirish, and Zona-my-Baby.

Zona - I have been waiting for your post. I knew you would be excited when you saw the video. I have already watched it twice.

    ReplyDelete
  53. 70 for Jennifer, an even number.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Carol...the blog is wonderful and it would be so great if it lives on. But it is ultimately you who does the work and hence you who gets to decide the blog's fate. I have been wracking my brain for days to think of a blog topic and I think I came up with one at about 4:30 this morning. I think summer has lent itself to a bit of a hiatus for the brain(speaking only for myself of course) Tinka and I have talked about the fall and the lovely topics we have yet to explore here...the first day of school, the autumn leaves, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. There is still much to talk about and learn from each other. But in the meantime, we all realize the amount of time and effort you put into this blog and don't want the blog to become a headache for you. Perhaps a new blog topic every day is unrealistic now that we are well over 200 blogs. How about once or so a week with submissions from us all..and the rest of the time Tink's song or video clip idea is put into place. That would move the responsibility of keeping this blog going to us all!
Happy, happy special day to your Dad!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Hi Hooters!
    congrats to lynn- again......lol

Haven't had time to read the comments, so hi to all and Happy Birthday to your dad Carol!

Since I am gone tomorrow- HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU CAROL!!!!

Back later- I am actually busy at work today, go figure..

    ReplyDelete
  56. Good Morning VIG - I hope you are now back to work on your research project. Isn't the weather great? I hope it lasts.

Good Morning Goldie - Have a good day at work. Now back to watching Regis and Kelly.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Lynn D Hey, there you are at #1 again! What are you doing, sleeping on our welcome mat? Congrats to you.

Carol I know this must be getting difficult to come up with a blog every single day. Sometimes our brains need a rest, we are just blank. I think Tink and Zona had an excellent idea about the videos. Also, I will try to write a blog more often. Maybe it won't be a masterpiece, actually I guarantee it won't be, but hopefully it will be enough to jump start the day. I really enjoy everyone here on the blog and I don't want to lose touch. It has meant a lot to me to be able to have this connection to other owls. It helped me get through a very difficult time in my life and I will always be grateful for that.

Shirley I'll have French toast and coffee, please. :)

    Good morning, Owls!!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Carol I forgot to say Happy Birthday to your dad. I hope he has a great day. (((HUGS))) to him and you, too.

  60. Carol, thanks for the great video!! And, I also promise to write more blogs!

Lynn D, congrats on first (again!). I'm sorry for the reason you've been first, though. :(

Happy Birthday Carol's Dad!!! Wow, 84, that's terrific!

Carol, tomorrow I'm moving my son into a house for college so if I don't make it in the nest, Happy Birthday to YOU!! I'll try to fly in to see if the owls are still partying!

To the owls who have flown the coop (oops, guess that's chickens that do that, huh Birdee?), I just want to say that if "I'm sorry" needs to be said, I'll say it. If forgiveness needs to be said, "I forgive you." Whatever it takes, I think we'd all be happy to see you again. :)

    ReplyDelete
  61. Good afternoon everyone,

Carol~ Indeed, today is a most special day in your home, the celebration of your Dad's 84th Birthday. I'm sure he is so loved, and in that Italian way, probably very loudly at times. I can just hear all the laughter and joyousness of when you all get together, and of course, the FOOD. Wonderful favorite recipes, which your Mom has so lovingly prepared so many times in the past, will be savored and the chatter at the dinner table, as you pass your Dad's favorites around. The vino will flow freely and glasses raised in his honor, with spoken words of the love in each ones heart for him. After the cake and candles, and a few dishes removed from the table, comes the most cherished part of all, just sitting for an hour or so and visiting, mostly taking trips down memory lane, through much laughter.

These moments are cherished and celebrated and add many threads to the fabric of your large loving family. Your Sunday dinners are probably enjoyed very much the same way. Just look at all the family time spent around the dining room table, either celebrating or solving the problems of the world. These moments, and hours, can never be taken away by time.

To you, Cheech, I wish you the warmest Buon Compleanno, and many smiles added to your loving heart that is shared with your family.

    Ronnie

  62. CAROL - Thanks for the video today.....I totally understand why Zona digs such cool cats!! :D Please wish CiCi a very Happy 84th Birthday from me!!! It must be fun for you and your Dad to have back to back birthdays. :D

I second the (or is it third, or fourth....) that Zona and Tinka came up with!!! That should keep us busy for awhile. I will have to see what I can come up with for a blog or two.

I certainly hope that we can keep the nest going!!! This has been my haven.....and I have met the best people here!!! Please let's keep my "yellow" alive!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I'll be back in a little bit.

    Btw, Carol~
I , like your Dad, adored the Rat Pack...

    ReplyDelete
  64. Ronnie that was very beautiful!

You know the more I think about posting more music videos the more I like it.

I mostly listen to Neil Diamond and I bet the owls could help me learn some new artists.

  65. LYNN D - Congrats on first!!! LOL @ sleeping in til 5:30......I wish!!! I was already at work for 1 1/2 hours!!!

GOLDIE - Have a great trip!!! Totally miss your ass....and thanks for the voicemail.....lol @ finally hearing my message about 5 days late. :P We'll have to do lunch when you get back to Madtown!!!

  66. I'm back from my daughter's play practice. She had individual practice today so we weren't gone as long. That Diet Dew certainly helped me, so thanks so much Shirley!

lynn d: Thank you for your kind words.

Tinka: Thanks for the email address.

dreama: Your voice is a dream! :)

goldie: I must've missed it when you told us where you're going. You mentioned today that you'd be gone tomorrow and people are saying "Safe Travels". So, what's up? Fun, I hope!

Ronnie: Your posts are always so nice and often absolutely beautiful. You definitely should write a blog for us! No pressure. ;)

Sandie: Is this your son's first year at college?

I'm in agreement with Zona & Tinka about the videos. That could be fun! Scirish's idea to add a little blurb is superb! (I'm a poet and don't know it.)

Hello to MEK, iteach, Whabbear, Vig, Jodi, just_lin, and all those Owls out there reading but not posting.

    Great Idea! Thanks!

I am leaving work early and heading home, I will be back later tonite...

From all your comments, I think we are going to be ok, as it seems we can do this together..

  80. Carol - Just woke from a lovely nap. I am now in a rush and cannot possibly scroll in order to say "Good Afternoon" to all owls who arrived "While I Was Sleeping". That might make a good movie. Oh yes "While You Were Sleeping" has already been made. I am still half asleep here - not quite making any sense.
I am off to have my hair done. Tonight I am going out to a late dinner with Brian and then to Butchart's to see it after dark. The lights are beautiful. I will take pictures. If they turn out I will post them.

I think our nest is safe for now. Perhaps we were too ambitious to try for a blog every day. For over 200 days there have been great blogs. That's a lot. I think one or two a week should be the norm with video clips for the other five. We have a better chance of longevity that way. I think the summer doldrums has had more to do with the 'blogs' drying up, rather than any stress in the nest. It is hard to be creative in the heat.
God Bless you for doing all that you do for us. Tomorrow will be a NEW DAY!!!!!
See all you owls tonight late or tomorrow early.
    Love, Tinka

I'm not up on All the post's, but I got to Carols' and stopped to post.

First..Happy Birthday CiCi! I hope your day is Glorious!

Carol, I'm sorry I have not been posting alot lately. I know I should do better. It's just that most day's, I don't have alot to say. I think it's because I've been house bound and very understimulated by the boredom. I often think my post are rather dumb too. That's why, awhile back I deleted one of mine. My mind went to *oh, that's sound's so stupid* and I hit the delete.

I've tried to come up with something to write for a blog, and still nothing.

I think those that have sent in blog's and your's, are so well written, that anything from me will
    be so inadequate.

I have no ill will toward's anyone. I've alway's hoped that any problem's that arise can be worked out. I continue to hope.

I do enjoy when you all tease me! You guy's can really crack me up!

I'll try to do better about coming here and posting to all of you.

I appreciate all the hard work you do Carol! Love You!!
    xoxoxo

  83. Carol I thought Ronnie's post today was wonderful! It would be great repeated as a blog.

Hart I was reading but not lurking. LOL I've been out doing errands then had to go to work for a while. Now I am waiting for Custards call, then out to dinner with a friend. I'll fly in again later.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Ok Flying through before I head out to run errands!

Carol I sent a blog your way. It ain't much but I hope it will help us all through this slump!

    Waving Hi to all

    ReplyDelete
  85. Ooops maybe this is 125! Hey occasionally I get my right foot and left foot wrong too!

    ReplyDelete
  86. PS I know I fly by slowly!

Ronnie: That was a beautiful post. I felt like I was there enjoying that beautiful laughter and food and vino! Kudos for a wonderful post!

  88. Birdee I understand how you feel. I wouldn't have much to say either if I had someone gnawing at my leg and someone else on my wing. But just so you know, I always enjoy your posts. ((HUGS))

Thanks for the info Mek. I guess I'll have to come up with another plan. (he!he!he!)

  89. Good afternoon/evening Owls.

Carol, I loved the video and whishing a very happy 84th birthday to your Dad.

Reading your post made me sad, and I will try to come up with a blog. But I am not a good writer, and I, like Birdee, feel that anything I come up with will be so inferior to what you and others have written.

I love that you made this place for us and will do whatever I can to keep it alive.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Sacbarb dear, How could your blog be infererior to my blog of eggs or what is your favorite color. lol

I write the lamest blogs, but I do have fun with them.

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  91. LynnD, You were the early bird again.

Shirley, I love French toast with cinnamon, so I'll have some for dinner, since I missed breaky. Thanks so much.

Tinka, I loved the Dean Martin show too. I miss those variety shows like Dinah Shore and Ed Sullivan, even Sonny & Cher.

MEK, who do you think is going to win SYTYCD? I really like Twitch and Katie. But they are all really talented.

Ronnie, You described, perfectly, all the Sunday and Holiday dinners of my childhood, right down to the solving of the world problems and the vino. You really are an eloquent writer. Thanks for bringing back such warm memories.

Zona, Wait...did you say you liked the video???

A big hoot, hoot to all the other Owls that have posted and any who may be lurking, or posting later.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Iteach, at least you had an idea for a topic. I am a complete blank, but I am going to try to come up with something, I swear.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Hey owls! Just got back from my daughter's open house for school--she has great teachers--should be a good year. (She's going into 7th grade.) They start on Monday.

Donna, my oldest son is starting his junior year at college. He lived in the dorm his first year, an apartment with two guys last year and now a house with four other guys. He's studying to be a nurse anesthesist. He says he's going to be rich and take care of me--yippee!! LOL

Birdee and sacbarb, we would love whatever you write because we love you!

    ReplyDelete
  94. Well, Sandie, you're paying to put that son of yours through school. Taking care of you when he's rich is the least he can do! :)

    ReplyDelete
  95. Sorry I'm late. I knew last night that I would be, Carol. Thus, the early birthday wishes for Dad for today. Hope about now, you're well into the vino and family memory-sharing. Enjoy!!

Howdy, Owl Buddies All! Have to shower and nurse a sunburn. Then I'll catch up on all I've missed today. BBL!

    ReplyDelete
  96. Oh, Bon'o, I hope that sunburn isn't too bad. OUCH!

    ReplyDelete
  97. Thanks, Donna! Just been out and about with friends all day, and we should have known to pop into the little Scandinavian Festival in the next town in the forenoon. Much too toasty for an afternoon at a street fair.

Oh, but while we were driving, the radio station had a call-in question worthy of being a blog TOTD one day when we're bored:

"Which 3 celebrities/famous people would you invite along for a cross-country road trip, and why?"

    ReplyDelete
  98. Carol Burnett, Jerry Lewis and Rosie O'donnell. Because I just love them and they are extremely talented people and I could learn a lot from them.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Hello Everyone!
    LynnD - Congrats on first!
    Hello to LynnD, Shirley, Tinkatia,
Bono, gm, hart, joey, shirley, iteach, carol, mek, sandee, sacbarb, j/l, birdee, whabby, zona, vig, goldie, dreama, ronnie, and anyone I may have missed.

I hope everyone had a good day.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I am home with my hair all done and I am about to leave for Butchart's with Brian and my 'fur babies'. See you all in the nest tomorrow. Have a great night.
    Love, Tinka

    ReplyDelete
  101. I do know one thing for sure...I wouldn't want to go cross country with Oprah! Remember her trip with Gayle? She didn't want the radio on and Gayle wanted to sing the whole way. I'm a singer when I travel. My husband is more the NPR talk radio guy. So I sleep when he's driving and I sing when it's my turn.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Bebbi~~I'm back and I see you.

    Tink~~Enjoy!

Donna~~I could travel with either of you. Love a traveling songfest, but I tend to hyperventilate if I'm out of NPR-talk range!

    ReplyDelete
  103. Okay, Bonnie, I'm up for the challenge, but I need to think about it. I will get back soon.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Bon'o: I'll let you know the next time we go someplace by car. It will probably be Va. Beach in the fall to see my son. We would love to have help with the driving, and I'd love a singing partner!

    ReplyDelete
  105. Thanks bon bon bon'o matic! :) I see you too! :)

  106. Happy Thursday Evening Everyone!!!

CAROL~ I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the video today! The "Rat Pack", nothing could beat them! They were just missing Joey Bishop! And who knew Johnny Carson could sing (well, a little, LOL), and Quincy Jones, now a Music Mogal in his own right, just leading the orchestra!

It just shows you though, how VERY Far we have come. Yes, Sammy was a part of the group, but if those same jokes were said today, oh my, well, let's just say THEY WOULDN'T be told! But, I enjoyed every minute of the video! Thank you for sharing!

And to "PAPA" Carol, I hope your day was fantastic, and memorable! May you have many many more happy days with your loved ones!!! XOXOXO to "PAPA" (I don't know if that is what you call him, but I kind of liked the sound of it, since I don't have a "Papa" anymore)

LYNN D~ Congrats on # 1!!! And unfortunately, I suffered alot last night with the spasms. This time mostly in the abdominal area, so I slept with a heating pad (YES, it was hot in the room, and I had a fan on and everything) but I needed the warmth to help ease those crappy things.

I just know it is stress. And all they will want to do is put me on anti-anxiety pills, and I really don't want to do that. Deep breathing helps relax the muscles, and warmth helps, so that is what I am doing right now.

    Good News!
Laurie will be having her Pacemaker implanted next Thursday, 8/14 at Kaiser San Francisco. We had hoped that it could be done here in Santa Rosa, but they just aren't as experienced in complicated heart issues as SF is, so, of course I want only the best and most skilled surgeons dealing with my Laurie. We are getting there, slowly but surely! After this procedure, then one of the major ones, the Catherization and stent to open up the total AV Blockage, at UCSF in September. Then, we wait another 6 months or so, and she will have her Pulmonary Valve Replacement.
THEN, A VACATION!!!! DEFINETLY A CRUISE IS IN ORDER FOR BOTH OF US!!!

Looks like all will be done in time for us to attend the BABBQ! I was getting a bit worried! Can't wait. Hi EBJ, and SSL!!!

OK, HONESTY again. I have been so busy today, that I only read the Blog, watched the video, and barely skimmed the posts!!! (head hung in shame). I will try really hard to read them all tonight.

Laurie, my oldest daughter Aimee, and I are off to spend the weekend with my middle daughter Amanda and granddaughter Emma in Sacramento tomorrow! So, I will most likely be MIA until Monday.

But that doesn't mean I won't be thinking about all of you, and hoping that you all have a fabulous weekend! Go out and "MAKE A MEMORY". Life is so short, go for it!!!

Prayers and positive healing thoughts still going out to DIANNE and her daughter TAMMY. The waiting for results is the most difficult and frustrating part of this whole issue! At least once you have a final answer, and diagnoses, then you can form a plan of action, and get moving! (((HUGS))) and lots of support to both of you!

OK, off to finish laundry for the trip, and make sure all the plants are watered, and all the last minute stuff gets done!

    Love and Peace to all!
Till Monday, Donna Jean and Laurie Elizabeth

  107. I just sat down, what a great nite I and my family had, I took pics and will upload them as soon as I can..

I am so very excited.. I got blogs..yes I did.... I have one dated fro tomorrow, so I will use that one first, and then post in order in which received....

    ReplyDelete
  108. I am back, how quick was that!

    Copy and Paste, Love it...

    ReplyDelete
  109. Okay, to begin with I have to have George Clooney in the car.

If I'm going to be stuck in a car for a long time with someone , it must be someone who I can have fun with in the backseat!

    ReplyDelete
  110. I love being read to, so then I would pick Matt Damon.

    I love his narrating voice.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Carol,
I am so glad you got blogs. I will write one, but it probably won't be as good as everyone elses. I just don't have much talent in that area. I feel bad that I haven't offered one, but I guess I have writing shyness or something!

    ReplyDelete
  112. Finally, Paul Newman, because he is good at driving cars. He also is a very giving man and I could learn so much from him.

    ReplyDelete
  113. iteach:
    I agree! :O)

    bebbi:
No need to worry about your writing skills, anything you put into words will be fine! Shirley wrote one once that I still go back and read, it was about her hometown, and what it had to offer it was beautiful, start with something you know, and the words will flow..

BTW, you can check out anyones blog by typing in (on main page of blog) the persons name, and then click search blog, all the blogs that, that owl has written will come up...

    ReplyDelete
  114. I'm off to bed, I have to wake up early for a busy day.

    Peaceful dreams everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  115. Just_Lin:
I agree, Ronnies post just touched my heart, I thought about it tonite when all was here and we were celebrating my dad! The only thing she left out was my mom giving my father the eye, when he annoys her.. Lets see they were married in 1955 (4/19) so how many yrs are they married now?

    ReplyDelete
  116. It is now officially August 8th, so I want to wish you a very Happy Birthday Carol!! I hope your day is the best ever!
    (((((((HUGS))))))))

    ReplyDelete
  117. Birdee:
You are the sweetest prettiest "bird" in this nest, I appreciate all the caring you give me...

It is not all about the blogs, participation is also helpful, as he shows us all that is ok to be here!

Your comments, your wit, the kind abuse you take from me (and others), to me is just like writing a blog...

Now, get your chicken ass back in here so I can see that chickenowl face, and please make sure there is no red pump sticking out of you ass, and if you don't have one, I sure hope you did not give it to Shirley, as she has been wearing them....

    :O)

    ReplyDelete
  118. Shirley,
I am feeling really good right now, as I see lots of yellow.. so I would think tomorrow will be good as well...

    Thank You!

    ReplyDelete
  120. Jodi:
The news here in NJ/NY is all about Brett, I still can't believe he is going to play for the Jets, I really thought he wanted to retire. After reading and hearing him speak, I think he just wants to play...

    We shall see.....

    ReplyDelete
  121. Are you feeling good cause you had too much wine?

    ReplyDelete
  122. Shirley:
Thank You... so my parents have been married for 53yrs... Heck of a long time.. Geez no wonder my mom gives him the eye...

    ReplyDelete
  123. Shirley:
I don't drink very much, it just was never something I enjoyed... I had two bottled waters, does that count, and no they were not spiked...

    ReplyDelete
  124. Since it's your birthday do you have any special requests for breakfast?

    ReplyDelete
  125. No, water doesn't count. But jello shots do. There may be some in the frig.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Actually Shirley, I do like jello shots, however I can suck them out that good, it takes practice ya know, and I am just a "virgin crackwhore"

    ReplyDelete
  127. Geez if I shave much more off Maureen's ass there won't be anything left of her!! Lol! But for the birthday girl I will try.

How about it Mo? Do you have anything left?

    ReplyDelete
  128. and those carrot muffins you make!

    ReplyDelete

    Well I'm finally back.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Shirley:
I think Mo would be grateful to have anything shaved off her ass :O)

    ReplyDelete

  140. Shirley~ I have to get up early tomorrow...can I have a slice of Mo please?~

    ReplyDelete
  141. Ronnie~ Why didn't you let him touch you?

    ReplyDelete
  142. ronnie:

    ReplyDelete
  143. I'm still in training to be a crackwhore...bwahahaha
