The Gym, nope, not for me, I am very much not the gym type of Jersey Girl, however If I was to go the gym (which by the way will never happen), the following would be me. So I am sharing with you, me, cpgem8 @ the gym.
To funny!
All that is missing is my glasses, and my gym clothes, Duh, I don't have any gym clothes :O)
Good Morning Everyone!!!!!
ReplyDeleteEverone must be sleeping in or up and out early!!!!!
ReplyDeletecuz, I waited for someone else to be first......couldn't wait any longer! Sorry!
Cute vid, Carol.
ReplyDeleteI used to do the gym thing. Not for me anymore. If I want exercise...I'll mow the lawn! It's alot cheaper. ;o)
Hey! I can also play soccer with crazy Bozie Boy too!
ReplyDeleteOnly bad part is, when he get's the ball, he doesn't alway's let go of it! ha!
Good morning and Congratulations Birdee on being 1st.
ReplyDeleteFunny video, Carol. Thanks for starting my day with laughter.
I used to be an excercise fanatic and worked out four days a week. I would drive my children's car pool to school and head straight for the gym. I look back now and think, how did I ever do that stuff? Believe I'll leave it up to the 40 and under group. Forget the tight little body, I've earned the right to be somewhat flabby at my age. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
What's up with MS? I can't change my status banner.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOWEEEEEENIE.
I hope everything that's special comes you way, not just today, but always. ♥♥♥
bbl
Happy Happy Birthday, Moweenieeeeee!

Mooooweeenie's Birthday!!!!!!
Birdee:
ReplyDeleteWhile mowing the lawn please watch out for your relatives, as a times birds nests do fall off of trees...
And if my accident you hit a relative, than I guess they would be "nekkid" Just like you!
:O)
Morning Owls!
ReplyDeleteCarol...LOL! I used to love the gym, maybe because I worked at the reception desk of one when I was 20 and got in the habit of working out. When my career took off, I didn't have the time anymore, so I did Billy Blanks Tae Bo at home. I remember the first time I got all the way through one of the tapes. I was a panting, sweaty mess on the floor for what seemed like a half hour! I can't do that stuff any more, so the Doctors have suggested Yoga or Tai Chi...I know many people swear by both of these, but I just cannot get into them! They just seem too SLOW!
Congrats on first Birdee!
ReplyDeleteHappy, Happy Birthday MO! Hope you are not working ANY jobs today!!!
Morning Glories!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY MOWEENIE!!!!! I hope you have a fantastic day with some wish fulfillment!
Birdee congrats on first!
Carol the gym? Really? This early in the morning? Arggggh I don't know whether I should feel guilty or just go into complete denial! LOL
I have done the gym before and I have just come to learn I do not fit in. Not in the least. I never have matching work out clothes. I hate touching things where other people have sweated and I really get the heebie jeebies when they say bring your own shower thongs or slippers. You just know some fungus is amungus there.
The last time I went the gym, they had a pool and I actually put on a bathing suit and exposed my fat bod. I was swimming away and came up from the bottom of the pool and had someone elses used bandaid on my face! Ewwwwwwwww! That was it for me.
So I am not a gym person at all.
Scirish:
ReplyDeleteI tried Billy once, I think I watched the tape once for about 7min. I did not even follow him, I stood there frozen, as I knew there was no way my body was going to be doing the things he wanted me to do..
So kudos to you for trying...
*from area 51*
ReplyDeleteShirley...I cannot believe someone told you that you were self-centered..you are always there with wonderful comments to "buck-up" anyone one that needs it...me included, and I thank you for that!
Good Morning Hooters!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 1st birdee
HAPPY BACON DAY- I mean HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOOOOOOOOOWEENIE!!!!!!!!
swak!
Ewww, the gym?? Not for me. Never been to one that wasn't a meat market and hook up joint. Although my sister in law belongs to Curves and says its great. No pressure.
Lucky me, I married Mr. Fitness, so have a home gym. Unlucky him, I only use the treadmill- hate working out- ;)
Lynndeee...OMG! a used band-aid woulda done it for me too!!
ReplyDeleteCarol...LOL at being frozen by Billy! It took me quite a while before I could do it...It's a wonder I didn't wear out the tape from rewinding.
ReplyDeleteWhat the heck...20!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Everyone:
ReplyDeleteCongrats on first Birdee, How have you been????
Carol Funny blog, LOL, I have a treadmill downstairs, and my sons do the run, walk thing, I get a little nervous when they run. I love that new commercial for Comcast with Mr. Slowsky on the Treadmill. LOL I love the Slowsky's. My sister and I have a lifetime membership to Fitness USA my mothers company bought it for us in 1990 so does my husband and mother. My sister and I are going back on Mon. Wed. and Fri. mornings. I personally can't wait, I felt so good from the workout. I haven't been there since 1994 LOL. I just used my treadmill at home, but they have the step climber and all that other good stuff.
OH GUESS WHAT, Our Wii Fit came in yesterday. I'm so EXCITED!!!!! Anthonys gonna get it all hooked up and all of us programmed on it today. We only waited 2 months for it.
Hi RonnieGirl, I'm 42 almost 43 and I'm amazed how I can't do what I did at 30 even 39 my house was spotless, now since I hit 40 and will be 43 in December, I'm lucky if I get to my house once a month. It drives my hubby NUTS because hes so use to a clean house.
Hi Carol, This is a cute video, it reminds me of the Ice Age Squirrel trying to chase that NUT through the whole movie.
Scrish, How are you feeling???? My moms got to go to a Pain Clinic I wonder what they are gonna do for her????
Lynn D, I never used to showers or pool at the gym/spa they always grossed me out. I would just come home and shower. I never did have matching gym outfits, until I lost over 80 pounds then I had NO KIDS and went out and bought the cutest gym outfits only to use them a handful of times and quit going, What a waste, I got pregnant with Anthony, and I had a BIG EXCUSE to start eating again. LOL
Moweenie, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you!!!!! Don't you just LOVE your birthday??? I DO, I don't care if I'm another year older and wiser. I JUST LOVE MY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Maybe its just the CAKE!!!!! Oh and ICE CREAM!!!!!
Good Day to all I'll stop back later.
Good morning Carol, scirish, lynn(bandaid on your face?) LOL
ReplyDeleteWhen I was 8 months pregnant with my almost 10lb. son, and weighing close to 150 lbs., my father-in-law was kidding my husband at the dinner table, which btw I couldn't pull my chair close to...and said, "Son, I always told you to marry a fat girl, because they'll keep you warm in the winter and shade you in the summer".
I left the table in tears...hormones, you know. Well, he did say he was sorry, but I had never weighed 150 lbs. before and wasn't real happy about the swollen feet either.
Hope everyone has a great day.
bbl
Hi Goldie and Renee. You all are just too cute.
ReplyDeleteGoldie,
ReplyDeleteThe Gym I belong to does not have COED, on Mon-Wed-Fri Women only, and Tue, Thur. Sat. Men only. Thats the only reason I agreed to that one. I'm SHY around men. So I did not need them watching me work out.
So, I have to tell you all what happened yesterday, after I drove to the appointment that I actually had on Monday....When I got home I checked my appointment paper and I had read the time as the date, Soooo, I called up to reschedule and they told me that they had nothing until the November..(this is for a 15 min. procedure) so I asked to be called if they had a cancellation. They told me that they couldn't do that as I had been "irresponsible" and missed my appt. and they only put "considerate" patients on the cancellation list. I totally lost my cool and told them that they must be Supreme Beings, seeing as how they must never make mistakes. I now have a consult appt today with another Doctor.
ReplyDeleteLynnD:
ReplyDeleteBandaid.. LOL...
ReneeEve:
Hi, enjoy your wi..
Ronnie:
ReplyDeleteYou should have sucker punched him..
OMG! Ronnie....You didn't kill him?
ReplyDeleteScirish:
ReplyDeleteGood for you, I have changed drs, lawyers, etc.. several times because of attitude problems. Instead of being sympathic (sp), they pull a
attitude...
I am sure there are other pain management drs, that would be happy to help you.
Good For You Scrish,
ReplyDeleteForgot that doctor, Hey I have missed appointments before on accident I never had that happen to me, they just charged me 45.00 for missed appointment, I did pay it because it was my fault. I forgot to write it on the calander.
Ronnie, that was mean of you father in law. But sometimes people just get foot and mouth disease, My Mother in law has problems with that.
I can't wait to play the Wii Carol, I'm so excited, I went on a Field Trip Yesterday with Victor to a miniture Small Village, called Troy Historical Museum. I drove with another mother, and she told me she lost over 50 pounds by just doing the Wii thats what kind of workout it gives you. I'm so excited!!!!!!
He had a great since of humor, but I could hear my husband giving him what for about it from the other room. Pissed AND hurt...that was me.
ReplyDeleteHe had a great since of humor, but I could hear my husband giving him what for about it from the other room. Pissed AND hurt...that was me.
ReplyDeleteHoly Dejecta!!
ReplyDeleteI just typed a LONG ass post and all of a sudden, my computer decided to "do an update" and thru me out of the internet!!

I'll be back later to comment!!!
Good Morning All!!
ReplyDeleteMOWEENIE.....
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Renee Eve...What does your Mom have to go to the pain clinic for?
ReplyDeleteHe had a great since of humor, but I could hear my husband giving him what for about it from the other room. Pissed AND hurt...that was me.
ReplyDeleteHe was all but begging for my forgiveness.
Ronnie:
ReplyDeleteI would have Sucker punch the texan dude...

ReplyDeletebbl....Hi MEK.
Ronnie:
ReplyDeleteI am glad you told us twice, as in case we miss the first comment we always have the second...
:O)
At least the day did turn out well...I was so fired up, I decided to take my Mom out and we actually had a good time together!
ReplyDeleteLOL Carol.
ReplyDeleteTinka:
ReplyDeleteHello!!!
Mek:
Howdy...
Sooooooo, is this a blog about fat? lol
ReplyDeleteGood morning Tinkatia.
ReplyDeleteScirish:
ReplyDeleteOne of my sayings...(and I have many)
"From Bad comes Good"
So, bad day, turned out to be a good day... Glad you enjoyed your time with your mom...
Ronnie:
ReplyDeleteWe did a blog about nothing, we can surely do a blog about fat...
Especially Bacon Fat, in honor of Mo's B'Day...
I believe the politically correct word for fat is cellulite.
ReplyDeleteWell, MY cellulite is a bit of a muffin-top. lol
50
ReplyDeleteRonnie loves bacon fat.
ReplyDeleteRonnie..LOL "muffin top"...I tend to be the "spare tire" type
ReplyDeleteRonnie:
ReplyDeleteYou toppled over me and got 50.. Now my head is crooked..
Ronniegirl, He should have and kissed your A$$, and Feet.
ReplyDeleteScrish, my mom was suppose to have surgery (she still might???) but she has Lumbar Spinal Stenosis, but the surgeon said that with Steonosis when you sit down in a chair the pain should go away, well hers DOES NOT and its a knawing, burning terrible pain, and she can hardly walk. So the surgeon told her to go for Another MRI and we'll go from there, she does have stenosis but she has a bad case of Arthritis that its bone on bone, you know how you have a spine??? DUH LOL well its got that jelly like stuff in it??? Well shes missing a few of them things, and thats whats causing bone on bone and the terrible pain shes in, so I guess shes going for shots ???? He consult is this month, but its my sisters turn to take her, we take turns taking her to the doctor. Which is nice for me. Now my sister and I have bad backs also, and I'm in pain almost everyday with my right leg caused by my back, the doctor said. When I wake up I can hardly walk, but then once I get moving it gets better. But when I do laundry, fold laundry, CLEAN, LOL I mean every day activites it hurts, but as my doctor explained it 95% of Americans have some type of back pain. Some are managable and tolerable. When its ok and I can handle it I take 800 mg Motrin, but when I cannot handle it and its down my legs and my lower back starts killing me and I'm hunched over I have Vicodin for that. That I use for Emergency ONLY. Now my sister is going to a pain Clinic on 11/5 I am taking her there for the same problem her back. My FIL went to a pain Clinic in December, 07 and its helped him ALOT he had shots in his back, and his pain is gone.
I might of missed your post, what is your for your back also???
scirish...too funny!
ReplyDeleteWe need to go get Mo.
Happy Birthday, 'weenie!
ReplyDeleteCarol: LOL at the video! Poor bear!
Not a gym rat myself; I much prefer running outside to stay fit.
Good morning, birdee!
And I am the whole Car :O)
ReplyDeleteHi Whabby!
ReplyDeleteRunning? Do you spot any bears along the way :O)
I didn't know I got 50, I was too worried about fat, being it might be TOTD.
ReplyDeleteNot bad marching for a 'fat girl that can keep you warm in the winter' LOL (I forgave him) But,
I'll say this...the next time they came to our house for dinner, I made fried chicken....he HATES chicken. I told him I'd fix him a peanut butter sandwish if he'd like one. He said "Point well made". LOL
ReneeEve:
ReplyDeleteMy aunt is going thru the same thing your mom is, however my aunt is quite elderly so its taking a toll on her. She is in pain management as well, and gets shots every three months. She is also on Morphine (pill form), so at times she is out of it...
Geez, it just seems like lots of people's backs are out of sorts..And its sounds so painful..
Hi Whabby.
ReplyDeleteI'll bbl, enjoyed visiting with all of you.
SWAK
Renee Eve...Yup...it is for my back..I have what your Mom has and a bunch of other things that I cannot pronounce, much less spell. They probably will give her cortisone shots, which are no picnic, but help a lot of people. Unfortunately, I am not one of them. I am now getting trigger shots which are supposed to get rid of the god awful muscle spasms.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Birdee - You little early bird you.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Ronnie, Carol, Scirish, Lynn, Goldie, Renee, Mek and Whabbear. I hope you are all fine.
I am either getting to the blog later or else every other owl is getting up earlier. I don't think I have ever seen almost 60 comments before I have even read the blog. I must be slipping here. It's time to start setting the alarm so I can get back into the top ten. Off the read the blog and comments.
65
ReplyDeleteCarol...LOL and what kind of car would you be?
ReplyDelete68?
ReplyDelete68?
ReplyDelete69
ReplyDeleteYay...I can count...really!
ReplyDeleteScirish:

Scirish:
ReplyDeleteHappy 69... Do you need a cig?
Glad you enjoyed...
It's my first 69!

Congrats...
Done with my ciggy...off to get a shower and get assembled!
ReplyDeleteI have to get to work...
ReplyDeleteIt was fun....

BBL

Scirish:
ReplyDeleteYes, after 69, one will need a shower... :O)
Today is the first day of the Feast...
ReplyDeleteSausage and Pepper Sandwich anyone???
ok, really going now...
How about some zeppoles?
ReplyDelete:O)
Happy Birthday Maureen - Have a great one.
ReplyDeleteCarol...I missed your comment..an Escalade is definitely the way to go! I'm feeling more like a Volkswagon Bug today...
ReplyDeleteRonnie - I can't change my status unless I go to the 'view all' page. That started for me yesterday.
ReplyDeletezeppoles??? we are pole dancing again??
ReplyDeletereally going to get my shower now...bbl
ReplyDeleteThere are so many comments this morning I just can't respond to them all so I will just say how much I enjoyed reading them. It's a great blog Carol.
ReplyDeleteI joined a gym when I was 20, went about 3 times and quit. I didn't like it at all.
Then the Richard Simmons tapes came out and for a while I did those but found it hard to keep up with him so I would lay back on the chesterfield and watch them. That wasn't much help.
When my dad died in 1987 I inherited his stationary bike. My first computer was so slow I would ride the bike and watch TV while the computer downloaded my e-mail. Now I have fast speed service for my computer and the bike just sits there.
The only exercise I get is walking my dogs a half hour each day and running up and down my stairs everytime I get to the bottom and remember I forgot something and have to run back up. As the short term memory goes my exercise on the stairs increases.
I really think most of the girls who have beautiful shapes just go to the gym to show off their lovely outfits. I should delete that sentence because it makes me sound like a jealous old lady. No, I think I will leave it there. It's dark, rainy and miserable here today so I don't even think I will be doing my usual walk.
Have a great day everyone.
Love, Tinka

ReplyDeleteI wonder how many calories I burn off by marching on the blog????
ReplyDeleteTink...What is a chesterfield??
ReplyDeleteScirish chesterfield is another name for sofa or couch.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 1st Birdee!
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon Ronnie, Carol, Scirish, Lynn D, Goldie, Renee Eve, Mek, Tinka and Whabbear.
GOOD AFTERNOON BONNIE...just in case you're hiding again.
Fat...not a topic I like to discuss. Although many years ago when I lost 121 pounds the only exercise I did was walk every night. No gyms for me. Many, many years ago I tried jogging...not sure if I made it to the end of the block or not but decided very quickly that it wasn't for me. And that's all I have to say about that:P
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Shirley - Hope you are feeling well today. Thanks for explaining to Scirish for me what a chesterfield is. I forget that some of our words are different. Some Canadians say "sofa" but it has always been a chesterfield to me. 'Soda' is 'pop'. I am sure there are more words that are different but I can't think of them at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI am a marching fool this morning and I am feeling fitter by the minute.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY MAUREEN!
ReplyDeleteYou may borrow my man owl since it's your birthday.:0) I would copy and paste him over to your MS but I have no idea how to do that with pictures.Joey still needs to teach me. I hope that you have a fun filled day. The Owls need to take up a collection and buy you an Opal piece of jewelry for your birth stone month or would you rather just have a fabulous Margarita?!~
xoxo
Hi Everyone! Wow...busy little Owls this morning!
ReplyDeleteToo funny...I just got back from the gym and it is a blog about the gym. I started going to Curves last month..I resisted that place for a long time...thought it was kind of hokey....but I love it. I don't have to do anything but hop on the machines and it does everything else..well, except the actual
workout! Love the video, Carol!
Happy, happy special day Moweenie! May this be your best birthday and best year yet!
Tink...great marching to 100. You can sit on the chesterfield and rest now!
ReplyDeleteZona...where are you? Chesterfields are on the blog!!!
Tink...the other word I can think of that is different is toque. Winter wool hats are toques!
Birdie congrats on first.
ReplyDeleteShirley I meant what I said yesterday. You're perfect just the way that you are. You make me laugh so much on days that I've been too tired to laugh. You give the Owls so much to smile about when we're having bad days and you make fantastic virtual breakfasts too! :0)
ReneeEve hey there Miss Chatty Kathy. J/K! xoxo
Tinkatia I hope that your niece is able to buy your Mom's house and keep it in the family. That would be nice. Either way I know that you will always cherish the memories as I do with my grandma's ex home.
Have a wonderful day everyone!
VIG - That's so neat that you get back from the gym to read that most of us don't. You must feel very fit today.
ReplyDeleteI just googled "Canadian words that are different from American words". The results amazed me. There are far too many to list, especially the different spelling.
Tink...nope, not feelin' the fit. I stepped on the scale first thing when I got up this morning and the next thing I knew I was on my way to Curves. The scale is going the wrong direction....must be that pumpkin pie.
ReplyDeleteI am going to Mexico at Christmas and I want to be able to wear the cute summer clothes I have on my skinnier side of the closet...so my chubby butt is getting in gear!
How are you my neighbour friend Tink? Get ready...it sounds like we might be getting a storm. Flashlights and candles ready to go?
Shirley: Start walking again. Please.
ReplyDeleteCarol: YES! I run on Steven's Creek Trail, which is in Mountain View and goes from town out to the very bottom of San Francisco Bay.
ReplyDeleteThere used to be a gorgeous bear who would walk at the same time I was out running. Alas! He never even made eye contact or anything.
Gaydar says: Straight!
Whabby:
ReplyDeleteGaydar NOW says: You are married!!!
HA, be careful what you wish for...
;O)
VIG - I am ready for the storm. My daughter bought me a lantern run by batteries. I can cook on my wood stove downstairs but she also bought me a little propane "Storm Buster" that apparently can be used inside to heat food. Our lights never went out for years and it has happened twice this month. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteWhabbear - When we were leaving the Bear Mountain resort I heard for the first time that a bear was not very many feet from my son last month when he was at their trout farm. He threw a rock. The bear ran up a tree and then decided he didn't need to do that. He climbed down the tree and walked away. Everyone thought it was such a good story but I nearly freaked. There have been more than one bear attack and death on this island. I wish my son would carry bear spray but he won't. We also have cougars there as well. I guess it comes under the category of "what makes mothers' hair go grey early".
VIG - I forgot to say you look pretty fit to me and you look 30 years old. It must be your veggie diet.
ReplyDeleteG'mornin' HooterPals!!
ReplyDeleteSorry, Shirley~~wasn't trying to hide, really! Just having an avatar identity crisis. I love going with the season but this one's always a struggle, 'cuz orange is my very least favorite color.
Carol~~Cute, cute video. Bernard is SO adorable! Long ago, in a galaxy far way, I was a bit of a gym-rat. Lately, I've been tempted to rejoin, but before retiring, I had to watch too many videos about--and see actual cases of--MRSA. No gyms for me!

bbl
ReplyDeleteHi Owls!
ReplyDeleteI've not been around much lately. Been a little down. I also have a cold and I've felt awful. I knew it was a matter of time before I got sick. Everyone at school is sick and since I work in the nurse's office, well, it figures.
Very cute video Carol.
Congrats on first birdee!
Happy Birthday Mo!!!!
Gotta get back to work now.
Donna, you should stay home if your sick and cuddle up on the couch or your favorite chair and read or sleep or TV.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon, I hate being sick. Get well Soon.
Dreama, I know I'm a bit chatty, I don't know why, someone must of put 3 or 4 quarters in me LOL
Crawling out of bed to say..
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY MO!!
HI to everyone....
Crawling back into bed and pulling the covers over my head...why in God's name did I get a flu shot last week?? Ugh...
She's Baaaaaaack!!!! :o) Hope she sticks with water balloons and hasn't yet discovered the joys of pumpkin catapulting. DUCK!!!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of 'back', Carol...a flat arse?? What happened to the beauty of "Baby got back"?? I was, hoping we were returning to a more Rubenesque time...Here's to MoPiggy!!!!!
((((leaving soft tissues, zinc lozenges and chai tea for Hart & Zona))))
Good day OWLETTES!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a very busy place.....
Moooowwwweeeennnniiiieeee!!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shirley... your humor has been greatly missed..... need any help carrying the loot in !!!!!
Shirley...Thanks for the explanation of a chesterfield. I thought it might be something romantic like a chaise lounge...
ReplyDeleteCarol the 50 cases didn't just come from Mo, I had to visit some of her relatives.
ReplyDeleteIbb you can help bring the bacon, chops and hams in if you like. I'll fire up the grills and get some of this stuff cooking.
This is very sad, my girlfriend from High School, you know how you loose contact with them, but send Holiday Cards every year???
ReplyDeleteWell my other girlfriend Julie, who I talk to almost everyday if not everyday. Called me and told me Connies daughter was shot and killed last night after work and it was on the News, I said I heard something, but I really wasn't paying attention. So i rewatched it at 12:30 as ABC runs everything over from 12:30-1:00, Yes, it was her daugher she was 21 years old and Just married, she had no kids.
Connie is just beside herself, and her oldest son as he was only 23, Connies 1st husband commited sucide when she was pregnant with baby #3. Connie remarried and had 2 more children. She was a good mom, struggled, but worked hard for her kids. Please keep her and her kids and her Son-in-law in your prayers. She was so pretty. This is just so sad. Why would someone just shoot someone and kill them???? They said they are investigating. We shall see.
Shirley:
ReplyDeleteSome of her relatives... lol...
However I think she would have liked it if you did use the cleaver. ;O)
Trust me Carol, there were cleavers, axes, saws and knives used in that operation.
ReplyDeleteIf a delivery truck comes with the fireworks could you direct them into the back where we had our picnic. They can set up there. Thanks.
Giant Maureen posters hung.
ReplyDeleteBirthday banner hung.
Streamers are all streamed.
Balloons filled...with helium (water ones stashed in an undisclosed location).
In the main dining hall the tables are set with piggy table clothes, napkins, plates, glasses and party hats.
One napkin, plate and glass has been marked with a piggy tail. Whoever gets them wins a ham.
Jello shots made and in upstairs frig.
Wine chilling in the downstairs frig.
Beer is on ice.
Appetizers are ready - pigs in a blanket. For the nonmeat eaters I've made broccoli and cauliflower in a blanket (first time ever). We also have turkey bacon, tofu bacon and tofu in the shape of porkchops.
Pin the tail on the piggy is setup and ready in the game room.
Need to go check the hams and porkchops and have to go buy the ice cream for the cake.
BBL.
Carol, thank you for the great video. Now I am thinking about the fact it has been too long since I have excersied. When this happened years ago I remember watching a Nike ad that ended in just "do it". So I stopped thinking about it and the next day I did do it. I sarted fast walking/jogging.
ReplyDeleteZona...I hope you are feeling better soon.
I wish everyone a pain free day.
To all from Maureen....
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind wishes on my birthday, sorry I can't be here. Have fun. I will see ya all when I get home tonite...
Thanks Again.... Love ya all (said with a Ronnie accent)
♥♥♥
Shirley, from Maureen...
ReplyDeleteThanks for shaving my arse, but did you have to use a cleaver...
Ouch....
To Shirley from Maureen:
ReplyDeleteBTW
My cousins arse never looked so good..
OM Goodness it's crowded in here, must be a party going on or something...where's the bartender and the stripper(s)?
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Maureen!
When I was much younger and much fitter, I was thrilled to visit the gym daily for an aerobics class (during the Olivia Newton John "Let's Get Physical days) and weight training. My fitness instructor was a woman bodybuilder who outweighed me by about 20 pounds (at the time) but was soooo tiny! I was motivated by the fact that she could have all that muscle and still look so great in a sleeveless top and a mini-skirt.
Now, divorced and remarried to a great cook and having gotten older and less active and a whole host of other reasons, I need to lose about 75 pounds. In the last year I've lost over 40 with Weight Watchers but the last 10 pounds I've lost keep managing to find me, LOL!
MoJoHo(itz)~ Happy Birthday, ya pig~ Sorry you have to work today~ love ya~
ReplyDeleteBirdee~ congrats on first~
Carol~ I'm allergic to exercise~ just sayin' :D
Zona~ if you are sick, who is makin' all those cards???? :D
Ronnie~ I would have made chicken EVERY time that man came over for dinner!! When my MIL comes over, we make Mexican food~ :)~
Back pain - I've been plagued with this problem for about 10 years and was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and spinal degeneration about 8 years ago. I often have pain in my right shoulder/scapula area that I control with ibuprofen, ice, and a miracle product called Bio-Freeze. When the pain gets unmanageable, I visit the chiropractor which helps me tremendously.
ReplyDeleteLast week I had a nagging, stabbing pain in my left side that wasn't getting better with any of my proven methods so I looked up my chiro doc only to find she is no longer on our insurance. So I consulted yelp.com and found a new guy.
OMGosh, this guy was so thorough and so good....!! I was in the office for an hour and a half, and he was with me for about 45-60 minutes of that time (the rest of the time I was getting treated with the electrical thing-a-ma-jiggy and something they call the "thumper"). The doc explained to me that the pressure on the nerves in my spine was causing the nerves to tie up in knots, or adhesions and that's what was causing my pain. He did a really deep tissue massage in both my left side and right scapula area and I went home feeling bruised, but the acute pain was gone for several days.
Now, my old doc used to see me twice a week when I was in this kind of shape but because I was bruised from the massage, I have to wait until tomorrow to return but I'm very hopeful this guy is going to help me get past the major problem and on to a less painful existence.
BTW, does anybody have problems with their clothes hanging crooked on them? I used to think it was the way the clothes were cut but have noticed in the last couple of years that when my spine is aligned correctly, this is way less of a problem. I had one blouse that I had to keep tugging to the left all day last week -- this happened before the left side started hurting and probably should have been a sign I needed an adjustment instead of tossing out the blouse!
PS....this time 14 days from now, YH & I will be onboard our cruise ship and ready to set sail!
Oh, and LynnD, don't get too upset but we have tickets to see a taping of The Daily Show with your man Jon Stewart in NYC the day before our cruise! Should I tell him about your dream? and would you like me to give him your number?!!!
ReplyDeleteWAHOO!!! Happy News to share!!
ReplyDeleteMr. Goldie had a procedure on Monday to remove a 'skin tag" from his face. Ended up being a 'tumor' which the dr. took out and the poor guy has 6 stitches from his nose to his mouth. 8 under the skin.
BUT- the Dr. just called- it is Basal Cell Cancer - the least serious and he said they took they got the whole thing out!!
SUNSCREEN everyone- wear sunscreen!!
Now back to our regularly scheduled blog.........
P.S. THANK YOU JODI, KATHY,TINA and TINA's MOM!!!!!!
SHIRLEY- LMAO!! Thanks for throwing my video back in the van.
ReplyDeleteParty time and I don't even care if you hit me with a water balloon.
GOLDIE - That is the best news!!! I knew TINA'S Mom had a direct line!!! SWAK!!!
ReplyDeleteMOHO!!! Happy Birthday 2 U!!!! Too bad you have to work twice on your birthday. I hope you have something fun planned for the weekend. :D
ReplyDeleteGoldie~I'm so happy about Mr. Goldie's good test results. I agree, everyone wear sunscreen.
ReplyDeleteGood news, indeed! ((hugs))
Oh my goodness, look at all this stuff. You've been busy, Shirley!
Hope ya don't mind, but I stopped by the upstairs refrigerator on the way in and got a Jello Shot. That thing slid down my throat so fast, it was like walkin' on Birdee's poopy front porch. Sorry, Birdee...just sayin'.
Btw, Shirley, I saw all the razors and that cleaver by the backdoor and figure Mo's arse must be a size 2 by now. What a nice birthday gift, instant sexy body, even if she is walkin' kind of funny.
Waving a wing to all those that flew in after I left this morning.
Thank you Carol for the message from Moweeeenie, the birthday girl.
Oh, and btw, I don't have an accent, it's all y'all that don't speak good. LOL LOL LOL
(I know it's supposed to be 'well')
Yup, that's us down here in Texas, walkin' around barefoot in the dirt wearing dirty clothes, and talkin' dribble.
bbl
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MO!! I hope you get some time off soon to celebrate. Looks like the owls are having a big party waiting for your arrival. I wonder if anyone will even be standing when you get here!
ReplyDeleteYum, I love all this bacon as I am starving.
I haven't been on for a couple of days as my granddaughter came over for a bday day and night with Nana and it has turned into three days...which is just fine with me. She is out with MRD looking at phones right now...not my idea!
Congratulations MEK AND IBB on your new nephew. I am so excited for both of you. Who doesn't love a new baby. I am glad your SIL is doing well too.
ZONA and HART: I hope you are both on the road to feeling better.
GOLDIE: I am so glad your husband's results came back good. It is so scary with all those things. I guess I will have an extra jello shot for him...gulp!

ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday Afternoon Everyone!
ReplyDeleteMAUREEN, MOWEENIE, MISS MO~ my dear friend and confidant, may you have the most Joyous of Days!!!! The Carpenters sang it beautifully: "ON THE DAY THAT YOU WERE BORN THE ANGELS GOT TOGETHER AND DECIDED TO CREATE A DREAM COME TRUE"
This is your Special Day!!! YAY!!
CAROL~ Very funny Blog today! I so relate to you not going to a "gym". I tried several, none kept my interest. The "Circuit" one really tried my patience. Just as I was FINALLY mastering the stupid machine, the bell rang and I was to move to the next machine! So, I am thinking absolutely NO MORE GYMS FOR ME!
SHIRLEY~ I agree with Whabbear, and you too, because you have seen the benefits of just plain WALKING! It is the easiest of all exercises. It's FREE!!!, and you get fresh air, see what new things are happening in your neighborhood. I have gotten the most interesting ideas for landscaping from just walking around the neighborhood.
But I must confess, the hardest step to take in walking is the FIRST step. That step out your front door. I am a "procrastinator" walker. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I really need to change that. Maybe that will be my new goal.! I love that some of you actually count steps! That is amazing!!!
So many comments, so little time to respond!!! Sorry, but I have alot on my plate these days, as so many of my sweet Owlettes.
I will try to settle down, fold in my wings and just concentrate on the Nest in a day or two!
Before that, though, I must ask SCIRISH, about her muscle spasms. Are you getting them in your legs or other places as well?
The reason I ask, is that I get them also. Sometimes so painful, I can barely get out of bed to stretch and then I am up half the night just walking, stretching, putting heating pads on and trying to relax so I can go lay down again.
My spasms occur mostly at night, although I do get them at times when I try to get into the car, or am just sitting wrong during the day.
You mentioned getting "trigger" shots. Never had those, but I did have cortisone epidural shots several times. I have a condition called "SPONDYLOLISTHES", which was surgically corrected in May of 2006. I now have three Titanium screws and a cage around my lower 4th & 5th lumbar. They used a new procedure for my deterioring discs, some new "jelly" that would conform and harden with time.
I must say that I don't have the EXACT pain I had before surgery, but now there are those God Awful spasms and cramps, not only in my left leg (which was most affected), but now in my right leg at times, and sometimes in the left upper part of my abdomen, just under my breast.
For those of you fortunate enough not to get these spasms, I know it must be hard to understand this pain.
Think about a wet wash cloth that you need to wring out. Double the pressure and imagine that is your leg, thigh, or abdomen. That is the best way I can explain the pain.
I have done everything I can to eliminate these spasms. More calcium, plenty of water (ok, I don't always drink enough) extra magnesium and potassium.
OMG!!! DEJECTA! I have just written more than a novel, a whole encyclopedia!!!
Oh, on another thought (forgive me), I just wondered,(anyone still around?) LOL, if any of you who watched the Presidential Debates last night, realized that McCAIN did not even know that his VP Running Mate, SARAH PALIN, does NOT have a child with AUTISM, but a child with DOWN SYNDROME??
He kept mentioning that she knows so much about AUTISM, because of her own child.
SENATOR McCAIN needs to brush up on the fact that "Special Needs" children/adults, have specific anomalys. Not all "Special Needs" citizens CAN OR SHOULD BE bunched together in a lump.
Ms. Palin's son, Trig, who happens to have Down Syndrome is only about 7 months old. How much knowledge does she actually have yet about the specific needs of these children? Or in my case, adults with "Special Needs".
I apologize if I overstepped, bringing up Politics, but after watching last night's Debate, I realize even more so, that Senator McCain is not in tune with REALITY, and what is really happening in the real world, the one you and I are living in.
Thank you, Carol, and all the Owls, Hooters, Nesters, etc, for allowing me the safety of this venue to give my opinion.
I promise not to vent any more about the election, unless anyone would enjoy a respectful dialogue.
I sincerely do care and love you all, no matter what our personal differences are. That is what makes living in this wonderful and beautiful Country of ours is all about!
Peace,
Donna Jean
PS: I just realized that I started this post over an hour ago, and there are many more comments I have yet to read!!! Hello to all!
Zona - I am beginning to wonder about flu shots too. I had mine about 2 hours ago and I just want to crawl into bed with a heating pad and a good movie. Sorry I am going to miss the party Shirley but it sounds like there will be lots of owls celebrating.
ReplyDeleteRenee - I am so sorry about your friends. I will include her in my prayers tonight.
Party on Owls. See you all tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteBirdee Congrats on being first today. I love seeing your chickenowl.
ReplyDeleteMaureen Wishing you a splendid day and sending very, very Happy Birthday wishes your way.
Shirley, Shirley, Bo Birley You must be the very best party planner ever!
Bon'O I'm having a bit of an avatar identity crisis too, as evidenced in Area 51. LOL
Goldie So glad that Mr.G took care of problem and that it is all gone now. My husband was a blue eyed blond and had to go through many of those procedures in his later years.
Jodi I mentioned it in Area 51, but in case you missed it, I made spice cake with peanut butter frosting last night. Yummy! Thank you for sharing that with us.
Renee Eve I'm so very sorry to hear about your friend's daughter. What a horrible tragedy.
Carol No way would I go to a gym. I might, and that's a big "might", go to a Curves. I really feel like I would make a spectacle of myself in front other people. Why they would even give a dejecta about me, is anyone's guess. I'm just too self-conscious, I guess. I find it very enjoyable to turn up the music and dance and it helps me lose weight. I need to get back into the habit of doing that again.
RENEE: I too am very sorry about your friends. There are so many things that are so tragic in todays world.
ReplyDeleteTINK: My GD had her flu shot over a week ago and she is still putting band-aids on it...I think she thinks it takes the pain away so...maybe try it! :)
Hi DonnaJean...I get those leg spasms too. I have been told that they are caused by a lack of potassium. I find if I just eat some raisins, a banana or apricots daily then I get them a lot less. Also stretching and excercise seems to help. I find when they happen if I stretch my foot out hard and up towards the celing and then rub the spot where the spasm is (yes, it's like a yoga move)they go away quickly!
ReplyDeleteHey Tink...nice marching! It's a good day to snuggle up with the furbabies. Feel better soon!
Whoops...I had to delete my previous comment as I was giving the wrong owl "trouble" about not like the color orange....BONO, I now see it was you. Remember...we love orange...at least on Sundays! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on first birdee!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Maureen!!
*grabbing a cauliflower in a blanket and a glass of wine* Phew, what a day!!! Anyone want to do some jello shots with me?
Love the cauliflower in a blanket shirley! what an original idea!! mmmmMMmMmMMmmMmMm
DonnaJean Lani and I noticed that last night, too, that McCain doesn't understand the difference between Down Syndrome and Autism. It was so annoying, that and the weird noises he was making off camera.
ReplyDeleteDonna Jean - I did notice McCain's error regarding Palin's son. (I hope he receives the help he will need to be as high functioning as possible.)Giving birth does not make one an expert. Obviously McCain doesn't really have an interest in special needs or he would know the difference between downs and autism.
ReplyDeleteJust saw your post Linda. We should have watched CNN or CSPAN as I think they had the split screen version. I saw bits and pieces of that version today and it was pretty funny. After it was over McCain's tongue was actually hanging out of his mouth.
ReplyDeleteBebbi I'll be happy to join you for a jello shot. I've never had one before. I hope I don't gag. LOL
ReplyDeleteYAY!!!! Goldie~ I'll let my mom know~ I'm so happy for you~
ReplyDeletescirish Congrats on your first 69! Sorry I missed that earlier.
ReplyDeleteHart Hope you feel better soon.
Zona Hope you feel better too. Maybe it's just coincidence that you got so sick shortly after having the flu shot. I felt a bit crummy for a day and my arm had some soreness and redness for several days, but that's it.
Hi Owls!
ReplyDeleteI see Miss Shirley is back and set up a party for MO! Yay Shirley what would we do without you????
Renee I am so sorry for your friend. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.
Goldie that is wonderful news for Mr. Goldie. You are so right sunscreen everyone!!!!
Outatuune I am so jealous! Yes give him my number and ask him if he knows Keith Olberman. If he does tell him to give my number to him to! LMAO
Glad to see everyone having fun!
J/L & LANI~ first off, thank you both for reading that very long post!!! I am so glad at least you noticed the gaff. Or to me it is much more, a MISTAKE, LACK OF KNOWLEDGE. Does he realy not know his running mate, and her family? Or her "credentials"? Yes, he does NOT!
ReplyDeleteAnd Lani, I so appreciated your point and laughed about McCain getting the necessary help he needs to be "high functioning"! Heaven help us if he and Palin are elected!!!
So much going on the Nest tonight. I have about 3 hours before Miss Laurie comes home from her afternoon out with "the Girls" This is my Respite day.
All I have done is catch up with laundry, some gardening, and of course surf the Internet!!!
LANI~ again, welcome to the nest. You and Lin must have some fun times together!!! I wish I lived closer!!
Peace & Love to All,
Donna Jean
Renee: I'm sorry to hear about your friends.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the get well wishes. I can't stay home because I don't get paid when I don't work. I have no benefits with my job. With the economy the way it is, I need all the money I can get!
Dianne & Linda: Thank you for your well wishes too.
Bonnie: Thanks for all the cold remedies!
Zona: Sorry to hear you're sick too.
outatuune: YES! My shirts ALWAYS hang wrong on me!
Goldie: That is great news about the hubby!!!!
Donna Jean: My husband and I also noticed that Mr. McCain mentioned Sarah Palin knowing about children with Autism, when her own child actually has Down Syndrome. I can't believe I've not heard anyone on the news channels talking about that!
Thanks for the welcome Donna Jean.

ReplyDeleteA mini march in honor of Pua'a's Birthday~
ReplyDeleteoutatuune Your upcoming trip sounds great. I know you're going to have a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteSsssslani Hi!
Kgrl Nice march! Haven't seen you get a 1-69 in while.
ReplyDeletearrrk....I know this may seem stupid, but...my kid...who is really not mine...but is...has to put his cat to sleep tomorrow. He loves this cat sooooo much. I offered to go with him, but I love the cat too..and am crying now....crap...I don't know what to do.
ReplyDeletescirish I'm so sorry. This is the really difficult part about having a pet. I have never found an easy way to say goodby. It breaks your heart every single time. I'm sure he will appreciate having someone with him that understands his sorry and shares his love for the kitty. (((HUGS)))
ReplyDeleteI don't know how we will be able to handle Razor..aka The Grey Cloud aka the Man Kitty...being put to sleep..I have to go hang with my almost kid...who almost never sheds tears and is talking about spending his last night with him...
ReplyDeleteJustLin...I saw that you are thinking about Curves. I have been going for about a month and the thing I like about it is it is generally non-competitive and everyone kind of looks the same working out. We are all spectacles together and nobody cares. And there all different sizes and ages and fitness levels and everyone just goes with the flow. Of all the gyms I have gone to, it is the one where I feel the least intimadated! Don't worry...this is not a sales pitch...I just like it there and am quite surprised that I am actually going regularily!
ReplyDeleteScirish...so sorry about the cat that you love. Hugs and prayers for you all!
VIG I'm glad you're enjoying your experience with Curves. One of these days, if I ever get motivated enough, I may give it a try.
ReplyDeleteHi Ssssssssslin. I am still trying to get an avatar. I am definately computer challenged.
ReplyDeleteScirish I am sorry about Grey Cloud. Bless you for going with him.
I walked 12,522 steps today, but I also ate at McDonald's for dinner! hehe
ReplyDeleteScirish, that is so sad. Hugs!! I had to put my cat down and I always regretted not going in the room with him, when they gave him the injection. I will always do that next time. It was so sad, and I loved that cat so much.
ReplyDeleteOh Good God! He cannot do it and asked me to...I guess I have to. I just watched the cat Try to drink...I was hoping they were wrong.
ReplyDeleteMy cat had cardiomyopethy (sp?) and I gave him heart medicine for three months, then he had a bad attack and couldn't eat or drink either. He got so thin, I just couldn't see him suffer anymore. It was heartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteAnd singing the song to 200....

ReplyDeleteVIG Outstanding singing and marching!!!! :)
Shirley Sweet dreams! Thank you for all the food and party decorations.
woo hoo good job vig!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ladies! I can't believe I screwed up Happy Birthday though! Good thing I am teaching Kindergarten next year...hopefully everything I need to know really is in kindergarten!!!!
ReplyDeleteVIG Maybe we'd all benefit from going back to kindergarten. I probably wasn't paying enough attention the first time around. LOL
