My 2009 Adventure

by Mary/MI

I am still at home making all the necessary pre-vacation tasks. I have filled my prescriptions, packed most of my things, and double checking many lists. I have a few obligations to fulfill, such as my VFW Aux. Treas. Paperwork, and of course making sure that the men folk are left with the necessities to keep them alive until I get back!

I am excited about this new adventure. It has been a while since I have traveled without a family member or friend. I will be traveling with a few co-workers and their friends and or family. I have always had a love/hate relationship with the sea. I love the beauty of it, but am also frightened by its ability to swallow me up!

I will be gone for a week. I am taking my lap top to write my journal. I am sure I will not have internet service aboard ship. I will miss you all but will be having a yellow time!

What great adventures will you be going on, or wish you could? My fantasy dream is to kidnap all of you and whisk you off to the places you have dreamed of.

Never stop dreaming!

  6. Good Morning Hooters!

Congrats on 1st-6th Bebbi and hi Lois.

Have a great time on your trip Mary- feel free to kidnap me anytime.

Right now I am trying to find a time in April or May to go to Punta Gorda, Fl for 4 or 5 days. Need a get a way, and since its free, I want to take advantage of it!

Have fun on your play date Lois!!

  8. Morning Glories!

    Congrats on first Bebbi!

Mary I would love to be kidnapped! Wishing you a fabulous time on your cruise! I keep dreaming for my shack on the beach someday. So fun to imagine.

Goldie and Mo so sorry you are both sick! Hoping you get better soon! Goldie I did not give this to you. I think kissing on Mr. Goldie is blame. If you would just keep you lips to yourself....

Lois have a great time with your blog buddies!

    Morning Carol!

    Off to get some cawfee.

  9. Good Morning Owls/Owlettes! From A51 re tattoos. I wasn't implying that any insult had occurred. I personally have at times, regretted the tattoos I have. I don't think people understand the word, "permanent" when it comes to them. I hope I can have a good sense of humor when I'm a 70 year-old with a tramp stamp.

As far as April Fool's shenanigans and eggs blowing up in the microwave, it's not the first time. It reeks to high heaven but it's not the end of the world. My loving huz brings spontaniety to my life. Whether I want it or not.

Mary, I am very excited for you to be embarking on such an adventure. When I do such things, I promise myself that I will not do something I could normally do at home and that I'll try at least 2 new things each day. It takes some planning and blind faith, but it's well worth it. I wish you well! When do you leave?

  10. Good Morning Bebbi - Congrats on first to sixth.

  11. Good Morning Lois, Carol, Lynn and bonacci. Hope you are having a great day.

  12. Bebbi,You are #1-6 and on" what"? lol! You must have taken a happy pill today. I know a few people who could use them lol.

    NoNewz,Awh thanks! Have fun today!

    Goldie "just do it" :)

LynnD,Whenever I find myself in a stressful situation I mentally take myself to the beach and that little shack. Of course a cabana boy is usually involved lol!

Bonacci, I like you attitude! We should all look at life as if it was a new adventure everyday.

    Carol, I Wuv U!!

  13. Mary - Have a wonderful trip. I am heading out to pick up our tickets for a family cruise to Alaska. We are going in May. I get all excited when I think about it.

Zona-My-Baby - My passport arrived finally. Where should we go?

    ReplyDelete
  14. VIG - The sun will be out when you get home.

  15. From area 51, Diane OMG "nesting beauty" lol.

Tina, I don't think I congratulated you on your "Excellent Award". You da man!!

JustLynn, good for you (refund). Mr Mary has to write a $2,000 check, I have to fork over $1,000! eek! But, life is grand!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Tinka, good morning! I am excited for you too! I have always wanted to take that cruise. So many places, so little time! :)

    ReplyDelete
  17. MARY: I am sure you will have a great time. I think you have fun no matter who you are with or where you are going. I wouldn't mind going along with you. I know how to toss a beer and pull a slot machine arm aboard ship!

I will have to think later about a dream adventure. Right now I am off to get my hair back to my normal color and cut. I have had to cancel this appt three times and I am determined to get there today. If I didn't, I would have to post a new picture of me with long white hair and that is not a good shade for me!

TINK: How fun going on a family trip. My husband and a couple of friends did the Alaska cruise two years ago....we loved it and almost decided to go again this year with the good prices. You have a great advantage that you live where the ship leaves from..no airfare!

    BBL.....

  18. Mary, have a fantastic time! We'll miss you, and will be here when you return.

I would love to sail the South Pacific some day!

  19. Hello, Hooters!

Bebbi Good to see your cheerful self first in the nest today.

Mary We are never too old to dream. I know you will have a wonderful time on your trip. I would like to see Italy and France but I don't think I could handle the long flight. I have enough trouble being locked in an airplane to go to Hawaii or across country. Maybe if I were ever willing to pay for 1st class tickets, I could do it.

Tinka What a fun time you will have on your cruise, too! I've been on 2 Alaskan cruises and loved them both. So beautiful!

  20. Tinka Congrats on 25. You are the master at 25, I think. :)

I asked why....and he said he wanted to go with his friends who are on a "planned school trip"!!! that boy...he couldn't understand why i wouldn't let him go by himself standing by for a seat to Europe! omg!!!! Who raised this kid??!!! DO NOT ANSWER THAT!!!!!

  23. Good Afternoon to NN, Carol, Goldie, LynnD, Bonacci, Tinka, Di, Bear, and J/L~

    Bonacci~ I don't have any tattoo's......but I don't even care if my kids get them....i don't think.....there are worse things out there~

    ReplyDelete
  24. Tina LOL @ moving while Mary's gone. Would we be taking the naughty mat with us?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Tina I forgot to add, aren't kids amazing and/or short-sighted? It never occurs to them that something could go terribly wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anyone know how to remove white out from office desk, keyboard padding and fingers? Don't ask... lol

    ReplyDelete
  27. Tina, I can "sniff" you out no matter where you move lol!

    ReplyDelete
  28. From A51: Barb, yes, that was just one of the filthy Jackie songs we heard at BABB I !

    ReplyDelete
  29. Whabbear, Dam, I missed that BBBQ!

  33. Hi again. I'm trying this from my phone which usually doesn't work so this is a practice

    ReplyDelete
  34. Bebbi, #1 Owl again.

Goldie, Free trips are a good thing.

Tinka, How nice to be going on a family cruise. I hear the Alaska cruise is beautiful.

J/L, Thanks for submitting my QOTD.

Waving a wing to NN, Carol, Bonacci, Mary, Dianne, Bear, Tina, and all who land later.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Justlin, I am forever indebted to you! I had a mess! I even got it off my vinyl keyboard padding!
I told Mr May that one of my nester friends would come through! Thanks again!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Justlinn,lol @ bread crumbs!

BBL time to throw my meat on the grill.....

    ReplyDelete
  37. J/L~ we take everything with us if we move! ijs~ and yes....kids are just clueless~ He made me laugh.....i really just wanted to take the flight with them and then come home cuz he would be bored w/o them next week.....oh...and he wanted some of the food! We spoil them and take them to the yummiest places to eat when there~

    ReplyDelete
  38. Mary: "Throw my meat on the grill"? That sounds scary!

OK, I just thought of this one:

Q: What do you call hookers who dress in their underwear to solicit sex?

    A: Panty Hos!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Mary You are very welcome. I'm glad it was helpful to you.

Bear LOL @ Panty Hos. :D

    ReplyDelete
  40. TINA: I want you to be my mom. How fun to have a mom that you even "think" will get you a ticket to run over to Rome next week!

MARY: Do you know that white-out is made as a dry white-out called Dryline Grip and then it never spills! :)

I have a question for any of you. I think my washer smells funny and I don't know how to get the fresh smell in it. Any ideas Owls?

Whew, I look like a new person and about ten years younger for another 4 weeks.

JODI: I have been loving your singing to me. I wake up in the AM and there is a songbird on my voice mail. It makes me smile every darn day! Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  41. SPORTS ALERT>>>>>>

The Broncos just traded Jay Cutler (out QB) to the Chicago Bears for lots of draft picks, etc. It has been an on-going saga for weeks. Cutler has been a baby so it is for the best BUT wonder who will be our new QB along with a new coach this year? Guess I had better not make any wages for the Broncos for awhile even against you MARY with those little Lions!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hiya,

    Quick peek in from work.

Whab, I recall having seen you throw your meat on the grill! :)

Dianne how bout some baking soda in the washer? That might work.

    Will write more later!

    ReplyDelete
  43. MARY...have a fantabulous trip! I have so many happy memories of vacations with friends. Don't forget us when you're gone!!!

Oh, and I made a typo to Goldie yesterday. I said I have had this crud for 11.5 weeks...should have been 1.5 weeks. The good news is that I evaded the nose-blowing mega zit!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. To those of you that are awaiting the ER finale, don't forget it starts early tonight...8 pm (or maybe 7 in the central time)

DIANNE...maybe some OxyClean in the washer?

    ReplyDelete
  45. MO AND EBJ: Have either of you tried these for the washer? You would think the detergent, etc., would keep the smell good but it doesn't smell right to my nose.

MO: I am so glad you corrected how long you have been sick. I really thought it was 11.5 weeks and I was about to send the National Guard to get you to the hospital. 1.5 weeks is bad enough but not as bad...as 11.5 weeks.

I am going to meet some friends for dinner tonight but I already have my DVR set for ER. And btw SAC BARB...Nope...not a cute cable guy like you had plus MrD was home..he always ruins my "jump the cable/electric/lawn/window/etc, guy">

    ReplyDelete
  46. Wahoo!!!!!! Mark that down SHIRLEY!!

Off to watch, sniff, sniff, the finale of ER

    ReplyDelete
  47. DIANNE...if it really was 11.5 weeks, the National Guard you sent would have to find me in the looney bin!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Goldie,congrats on the 69er.

BTW I put "the" meat on the grill, not "my" meat! lol!

Diane/Denver,no danger from the Lions lol!
I have a tape white out, but couldn't find it. The problem happened when I forgot to tighten the tip down. I made another error and grabbed it and shook it......
btw, to eliminate any further funny smells in your machine I suggest you stay off it during the spin cycle bwah ha ha!!

Tina, play nice or I will have to come over there...

Thanks everybody for the comments on my blog. I'm not a good writer, so I kept it short.

    Watching ER

    ReplyDelete
  49. WTG goldie on 69!

Mary/MI: A wonderful blog. I hope you just have the best time on your trip!! Maybe someday we will all get to do something special together...that would be awesome! And, you never know!

    ReplyDelete
