Oh no, clouds, again!

I totally need the sun, it has been rainy and cloudy here in NJ since Sunday. I can't believe how the weather has changed my mood. I feel like I am in a puddle of water trying to find the surface. I never realized before how the weather affects me, until now. I guess that is another thing that comes with age, noticing the weather. Age changes everything, I don't care what anyone tells me, I am definitely changed. I am not complaining of who I have become, just noticing the differences. If the sun does not peek out soon, I will definitely be a candidate for the loony bin, cause I am starting to stir, and that is never a good thing. Besides the sun not soaking in my skin, I got a letter in the mail from AARP, yep, I am almost there, they want me to join, and no, I am not ready, so I ripped it up in a thousand little pieces, and thru it to the wind. AARP go away, and don't come back another day, the sun however better show its face soon, or as I said I will be blogging from the loony bin. And can you imagine then, what my blogs will be about...

:O)

Update 9:46am~ The sun is out! I am smiling..

I actually love the rain. It doesn't matter what time of year..when it rains I love to go outside and get wet!

I can feel myself getting older too..things that used to bother me, don't anymore. Of course now there are a whole new crop of things that make me crazy... ;)

I hope you get your sunshine soon, CPGEM..although the thought of you loony blogging IS appealing. :D

  16. Morning Glories!

    Congrats on first Zona!!!

Carol I know there are people who think that gloomy weather has nothing to do with moods or depression, my answer to them is a big fat bbbbfffffft! That is a raspberry! It does!

I have live in WA state my whole life growing up we lived in the rainiest part of the state. Average rainfall days were like 300 days a year. For gosh sakes there was a rainforest! LOL

After weeks and days without sun you get a little crazy not to mention soggy! When it rains like that now I get depressed and sad. More than I ever did when I was younger. I just had my yearly physical and the Doctor has directed me to take vitamin D supplements because of our lack of sunshine here. Our bodies don't produce enough D in areas where we have long cold and rainy winters. Vitamin D helps our bones and our moods. Exposure to the sun for twenty minutes a day helps our natural D to start producing.

We all need the sun! Love the rain, but days on end is just a drowner!

  17. Good Morning Zona-my-baby - It's so good to see you. I thought you would be too busy today getting ready for the in-laws. Keep cool.

    ReplyDelete
  18. VIG - Good Morning my dear neighbour. You were really up early. You must be like my 'fur babies', when it's daylight it's time to be up and 'at 'em'.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Good Morning Hooters!

Congrats on 1st Zonababy!!! Is the air on now??? Stay cool.... You too MEK!

IBB- glad you finally found something out, and glad that your labs were good.

Carol- I feel the same way about rain, I need my sunshine. However, I don't feel the same way about AARP. I will be eligible in Sept and I want every little damn discount being a card carrying member will get me!! LOL

Thanks for sharing hte news of Renee Eve's mom. Shirley, how is your Mum doing today?

Have a good Friday peeps! Having my Mom come today and spend the weekend. Jodi coming over for coffee in the morning (and fresh baked cinnamon rolls) because she has adopted my Mother and vice versa. Then taking Mom out for brunch on Sunday. Going to be a nice weekend.

  20. Good Morning Ibebold - I am sorry you have scoliosis. That is difficult having both that and arthritis of the back. I have the arthritis and that is bad enough. I went through courses at the arthritis centre and they told me to rest every afternoon with ice on my back. That sure helps me. I now look forward to my 'after lunch nap'.

  22. Good Morning Carol- I am also affected by lack of sun. By February each year I am ready to hibernate or go crazy. The sun comes out and I have energy again. I would rather have the cold weather with blue skies than weeks of drizzle. The sun is peeking through today and that makes me happy.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Zona Good morning and congrats on being first to be up and about in the nest today.

VIG You are a very close second in the nest. Did Zona wake you. Perhaps she was sleeping under your bed. ;)

IBB I'm sorry to hear about your back. Very glad, though, that your sugar levels are better now.

Carol Just a short time ago, we were blogging about spring and renewal. I think some nice weather got your hopes up that winter was finally behind us. I'm glad the sun is coming out for you again today. I love rain. It is the fog that gets me down.

Tinka Nice march! I hope your day is going well, so far.

LynnD In the far north, when they have those days on end with only night, a number of people suffer from depression and it is my understanding that there is a high suicide rate. So, yes, I believe sunshine affects our mood.

I hope everyone has a good day, today, regardless of if you have sunshine or not.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Goldie You arrived while I was typing. It sounds like you have a great weekend planned. You will have sunshine no matter what the weather is like. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  25. My comment posted twice, hence
    the delete.

Good Morning Goldie - Have fun with your mom. You are lucky.

Good Morning Just-Lin - I am planning on having a good day. Tonight the grandchildren (the oldest two), their grandpa and I are going to the arena to watch "Walking with Dinosaurs". They are supposed to be life-like and a little scary. Should be fun.
Be back later. It's time for Tea.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Tinka It sounds like you have a nice evening planned. Want to march?

    ReplyDelete
  27. I shut down the blog again. Where is everyone. I guess I will march alone again. It's lonely in this nest by myself. Come out, come out where ever you are.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Ha!!! You did it Tinka! Good job!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Just-Lin - You are there. I think I got 50 even though I called it 49. Sorry I messed up.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Are you flying through Just-Lin? I am procrastinating. I have so much to do and don't feel like doing it.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Tinka I am still sitting here in my robe and drinking coffee.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Just-Lin - We were typing at the same time. I thought I was alone at 40 and when I posted it was suddenly 49. It was just like magic.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Lynn D- I just noticed I missed saying Good Morning to you. I am sorry Sweetie. I must be more careful when I scroll. I did the same thing the other day when I scrolled past VIG and didn't see her behind the trees. I will try not to let that happen again.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Tinka Nice marching this morning. There are things I should be doing but I am procrastinating, too.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Just-Lin - I am sitting in my robe at the kitchen table drinking my third cup of tea. I must have tea in the morning or I couldn't make it through the day. I can't remember the last time I had a cup of coffee. I love the smell of it but not the taste. I guess it's my English heritage.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Now I am off to get some work done. Good Morning to all owls who will fly in later. Love, Tinka

    ReplyDelete
  37. Zona - I am leaving 69 open for you.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Thanks for leaving that open, Tinka! Maybe now I can get busy around here.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Just-Lin - Congrats on 69.
Back to work. I should really say "start to work" because I have been on the phone with my daughter. She has invited us for brunch on Mother's Day. My son and family are bringing dinner here at 5:00. Should be a fun day.

  40. Poor Carol, but I'm glad to hear that the sun is out today. Hum a George Harrison song, and you'll feel better!

  41. I Can See Clearly Now

I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW THE RAIN IS GONE
I CAN SEE ALL OBSTACLES IN MY WAY
GONE ARE THE DARK CLOUDS THAT HAD ME DOWN
IT'S GONNA BE A BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT SUN SHINY DAY
IT'S GONNA BE A BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT SUN SHINY DAY

OH YES I CAN MAKE IT NOW THE PAIN IS GONE
ALL OF THE BAD FEELINGS HAVE DISAPPEARED
HERE IS THAT RAINBOW I'VE BEEN PRAYING FOR
IT'S GONNA BE A BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT SUN SHINY DAY

LOOK ALL AROUND THERE'S NOTHING BUT BLUE SKIES
LOOK STRAIGHT AHEAD THERE'S NOTHING BUT BLUE SKIES

I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW THE RAIN IS GONE
I CAN SEE ALL OBSTACLES IN MY WAY
HERE IS THAT RAINBOW I'VE BEEN PRAYING FOR
IT'S GONNA BE A BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT SUN SHINY DAY
IT'S GONNA BE A BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT SUN SHINY DAY
    BRI-RI-RI-RI-RIGHT
BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT SUN SHINY DAY
    OH YEAH
IT'S GONNA BE A BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT SUN SHINY DAY
IT'S GONNA BE A BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT SUN SHINY DAY
IT'S GONNA BE A BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT SUN SHINY DAY.

  42. That song was for you Carol. Great blog, as always!

Zona congrats on 1st! Have a good weekend.

Hi Vig, Ibb, Tinka, Lynn D, Goldie, Just_Lin and Whabbear.

Update on mum is that she is ok today. Her speech still sounds slurred and my sister says she is a little slower than she was at getting up out of chairs. We have found out this morning that with the condition mum is in strokes are something to watch for. We hadn't heard that before. Doing any new testing at this point really isn't worth it. So for now she is OK. Thanks for the concern. ((HUGS))

  43. Shirley Thanks for the optimisitic song and (((HUGS))) to you.

  46. Happy Friday Owls.

Carol, It doesn't usually rain here for days on end, so I don't know that feeling. It's easy to like the rain when it only happens occasionally. I'm glad for you that you have sun today.

And as long as your are going to be in AZ, why not pop over one more state to CA. I have ice cream too, and I'll even cook you tripe!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Zona, by now you are probably entertaining away. I hope you can keep the stress level down. ;)

Shirley, Glad your Mum is doing OK.

J/L, thanks for the QOTD. Love the pic of your rack.

Goldie, sounds like you will have a wonderful Mom's day.

IBB, At least you have a name to your aches and pains. Now you can suffer scientifically.

Tinka, Sounds like your Mom's day will be filled with family and fun.

Lynn, We have a lot of sun and I still have a Vitamin D deficiency. I try to get vitamin D through my food but I guess chocolate doesn't have enough.

Vig, up early and got #10.

    Bear, No PS this month?

    Waving to all the Owls.

I've got to go make potato salad for a sorority brunch tomorrow. I'm sure it won't be a good as Jodi's, but it will have to do. BBL

  48. ZONA: Are they there yet? Haven't heard from you for a few hours so maybe.....I hope they are different this time and you end up having fun. At least you will get to go out to dinner...

CAROL: I'm sorry you have been feeling bad due to the rain. We don't have much rain here and even if we have a snowy season, we have over 300 days of sun so sometimes a gloomy day is nice.

Not much new out here...got my nails done, had lunch with daughter and a friend and now home doing some wash for trip. We have a wedding tomorrow night and then leave the next day. I think I would like to take a nap but then I will never even get laundry finished. Mr D is now officially home for the summer break!

TINA: Did you get the tux yet? How are the prom plans coming by now? Can he drive your car? Details, please.....

I wanted to wish all of you mothers a very Happy Mother's Day and weekend.
