Simplicity

for me, simplicity is best, it just makes much
more sense, i don't like fanfare, or any kind
of complications, i like when its easy,
when my mind can think

my simplicity, i like to spread around me,
i like to share it, so others will understand,
how easy it can be

if complications arise, you take it as is, and
break it down before you share it,
once you break it down, you can then
explain the complications
and make it into simplicity

it might sound easier than perhaps it really is,
but i trust myself to know that it will
work , thru out my years 9 out 10
times, it always proves me right

simplicity also allows me not to judge anyone
around me, to judge someone, is to have a
opinion or assumption without truly
knowing, if you look at them with
the simple thought of who they
might be, there is no reason to judge

it really is just that easy

Simplicity will make the world around
you so much brighter and most
likely allow you to smile more
and to smile, it really is just as simple as
simplicity

Congrats on first Shirley! IBB you were so close!

Funny this blog is up today. Yesterday I was feeling very stressed it woke me up last night with spinning thoughts.

Carol thank you for the reminder about one of my favorite mottos "Keep it Simple Stupid!" I will use this as a mantra today.

    Good Morning Scrishy and bonacci!

  11. Carol I always thought a simple life meant living in a log cabin in the wood by yourself with just the basics to survive. Eating berries and fish. Killing animals to make clothes. Using their fat for some kind of shampoo or something.

You mean I have been wrong all this time? I can stay in my apartment and have a simple life? OK I'm in! Do I still get to watch cable?

  23. Shirley..

As of now, I have plans with my two cousins to see Star Trek on 5/16, we are going to do "dinner and a movie" Whenever a new Star Trek movie comes out, we three see it together.. They say the movie is very good, and its getting good reviews.. I normally don't go to the movies, as I refuse to make celebrities any richer.. But Star Trek is def a exception..

Will you see it in the movies? or will you wait to see it on DVD?

  24. Good Morning Hooters!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUST LIN!!!

congrats on 1st Shirley- holy cow you are getting good at this.

  26. EBJ....Yay for getting the tiny kittie. I vote for your first name choice of Annie as in Little Orphan..

  27. Kirstie Alley gained all the weight back that she lost on Jenny Craig..

I don't understand why she just can't accept herself as is. Why does she have to be thin? She is so pretty, so what she is a plus size.

I was thinking about this very thing this morning, how ppl can't accept who they are, and want to change themselves.

I truly wish she would let herself be. She is who she is, geez embrace it..

    ReplyDelete
  28. Scirish..

Yes, I like Annie as well.

    Goldie..

    Simple is always good advice..

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ok, off to get some work done..

    See ya all later..

    ReplyDelete
  30. Carol...Your comment on Kirstie Alley just reminded me of something I saw the other day. I think it was an ad for US Magazine and they had a "Share your witty comment on what this celebrity is wearing" kind of thing. The "celebrity" was Susan Boyle in a kinda cute bathrobe with stars on it. I don't usually read the comments as I don't like the meanness, but for some reason I scrolled down. What a surprise!!! People were actually attacking the magazine for being nasty. If this happened more often, I think the Kirstie Alleys of the world (and everyone else) would have an easier time liking themselves the way they are.

  31. Morning Scirish, Bonacci, Lynn D,Carol and Goldie!

  39. Shirley Thanks for waking me up! I might have missed my birthday, otherwise. LOL Nice marching, BTW.

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. I am way passed the age of enjoying getting older but it's better than the alternative, as they say.

It is 11:30 here and I am still drinking cawfee and sitting around in my robe. Guess I should get a move on, birthday or not. BBL

  40. Happy Wednesday Owls.

Carol, Seems to me simplicity is easier said than done, especially when there are people in our lives that insist on keeping things complicated. And when those people are family members, it is very hard to exclude them. But I give it my best effort to K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid) and move on. Thanks for the reminder and encouragement.

As for judging, I try very hard not to judge people, but I am afraid I fail as often as I succeed.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Shirley, our #1 Owl and you are in great marching form to 69 again.

IBB, close to #1, but unfortunately that only counts in hand grenades and horse shoes. Praying your pain goes away.

Scirish, I'm surprised US Mag would print the negative comments.

LynnD, K.I.S.S. was my mantra when I worked in the Governor's Office. It was a self preservation technique.

    Goldie, congrats on 50.

MEK, got FORE-TY. Hope your plate clears real soon.

    J/L, Happy Birthday to you ♫ ♪♪♪

Bonacci, congrats on quote of the day.

Carol, I think you are so right, and so smart to handle things that way. Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I start writing things down--breaking things down--and I immediately feel better.

IBB, thank you for the birthday wishes for Aubree--you're so sweet! Feel better!

MEK, little Tug would get along great with Luc. He's always on the hunt for lizards--it's his purpose in life. LOL

Happy Birthday, Just_Lin!! I hope you're doing something really fun today!! xoxo

I went to get my hair colored today and my hair stylist just got married a couple of weeks ago. As I was looking at her pictures I asked her what her new last name is. She said, "Hooker." She said she knows she's going to have a lot of fun with that! LOL

SacBarb….Are you kidding??? They seem to live for that!!! I used to like them as they were sorta newsy and factual….They have now gone down the tabloid toilet!

Happy, happy birthday JL! I hope you are having a fantastic day!

Congrats once again to Shirley. You are going to catch up to Kgirl then pass me up for the 69s!

MR. EBJ likes the name Annie better too, but he understands that Nancy was my favorite aunt, and she would be thrilled with the new kitten.

So I think she will be Nancy but we will call her Annie.

I called the vet clinic today to officially let them know that we want her.

We'll go visit her on Monday again.

I'm at work so will write more later.

Loved the blog today Carol, I will re-read it again when I get home. This is the first time I've been able to check in today.

  48. It seems quiet on the blog today! Or maybe it's just me?

I had new windows put in my master bedroom a couple weeks ago. They were supposed to keep that room cool. It's now 88 degrees in that room and 90 degrees outside. Yes, it's 2 degrees cooler inside. But I think it was cooler with the old windows. I think I've been had.

  50. Hi...Happy Birthday one more time to JUST/LIN.

BONACCI: Ok,here is what I will admit to only here and never to my husband. I thought my AC wasn't working in the car and we are getting ready for a road trip. I was mad as this car is only a year old. I had my whole story ready for the service guy on how I needed a rental car, blah, blah. I drove in and sure enough, he put his hand in by the vent and it was warm air. He went around to the other side and opened the door and then turned my little AC/heat knob all the way to AC rather than bordering AC and heat!!! He told me he wished all the repairs were that easy. I felt like a complete idiot as I use my air all the time and I don't know why I didn't pay attention. My daughter said I was probably his dinner coversation with his family tonight about this old lady came in ........ So moral of story, check your thermometer carefully before you call your window place!! :)

I like things simple. I sometimes feel when someone asks me "what's new", I am glad to say "nothing." Good blog, CAROL...I love the way you put things into such thoughtful things to think of daily.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Well I see my super powers are still intact!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Hi DIANNE!...where are you going on your road trip? Utah? AZ?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Mo, were you happy with idol tonight?

    ReplyDelete
  54. I was reading what some of you were saying about Kristi Alley and I agree. I watched her on Oprah the other day and she was talking about the media following her everywhere. I wanted to comment on when I heard on the news that Dom DeLuise passed away, the news called him the "portly Dom DeLuise". Now why did they have to call him "portly" and it made me think that I hope when I pass the eulogy doesn't call me the "portly Dianne from Denver;"

    ReplyDelete
  55. Hi MO AND SANDIE: First of all, I was happy with AI tonight. I hated the music and didn't watch much last night and fast forwarded a lot tonight but I am okay with it. I was surprised with DWTS results last night but I am happy about it too. I didn't care much for the person that was voted off last night on DWTS>

MO: We are just doing a six day road trip. We are going to Cripple Creek gambling overnight, which is about 3 hours from here and then to Ouray, Co and then to Durango, Co and home. It is beautiful mountain area and I scheduled a couple of things for us to do. It is still off-season so a lot of the things aren't open yet. Ouray has a hot springs and I am not crazy about the pool but the place we are staying has a few hot tubs on the mtn side with the hot springs pouring into it. I remember a few years back sitting in one of those tubs and deer coming up to the tub so that will be fun and relaxing. I will be on the look-out for truck stops along the way to stop and see if I know anyone there :)

    ReplyDelete
  56. SANDIE...yes, I was happy. Whoever wins, and the runners up will all have great careers and recording contracts...win win for all of them this year. What did you think?

DWTS...I was shocked. I thought that person was better over-all then o ne of the guys left. oh well!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Dianne and Mo, yes I was okay with idol, too. You're right, Mo, and I guess at this point it's really just a matter of who gets a record deal first because they're all going to--they're all good.

I was surprised at DWTS last night, too, although it didn't bother me.

Dianne, LOL @ portly Diane from Denver! Well, then they'd say "the saggy-armed Sandie." You're right--why on earth would they say that about Dom?

Dianne, have a great time on your trip!! It sounds fun.

    ReplyDelete
  58. SANDIE: Thanks. It will be fun to get away for a few days. I am getting stuck wanting to stay home too much so it will be good for me. My husband teaches so he has two weeks off after Friday before summer teaching starts and that is on-line classes from home for the summer. At least we can travel at our own time and not rush as neither of us are early risers and it is easier to pack for a trip like this and that is good because I am the biggest procrastinator packer there ever was...

    ReplyDelete
  59. Well, I'd better go to bed--I'm heading down to college tomorrow morning to help my son move his stuff (pronounced "crap") back home for the summer.

Have a good evening and good day tomorrow, owls!

    ReplyDelete
  60. LOL, Dianne. Have a great and safe trip. Will you be able to get on line or will we be missing you??

    ReplyDelete
  61. SANDIE: I will read every day from my phone and will try and post if it will let me or if I can figure it out. Night

    ReplyDelete
  62. Hi, Hooters! Just stopping in to say thank you to all of you for your birthday wishes today. I really appreciate all of you.

Shirley LOL @ way older! It's probably pretty true, unfortunately.

Sandie and Dianne I have saggy arms and am also portly (although I am 11 or 12 lbs less portly than I was a couple of months ago).

Dianne I am a last minute type of packer, too. It's too easy to forget something if you start packing too soon. That's my rationale, anyway. :)

  64. Can I just scream?

I called home to say I was running late and still had a couple of things to do. My hubby said that my oldest had something to tell me! I was so scared....i thought he was in a car accident or got a ticket. He came on the phone and I told him not to tell me if it was bad and to wait until I got home. Then he said, "I don't know if it's bad, but I need a tux!" I screamed!!! He asked a girl 3 DAYS BEFORE THE PROM!!! Then...when I got home, I found out he's up for Junior Prom King~ I tried really hard not to laugh! He says it's a joke, but I told him to vote for himself....I would~ :D

Whoever said life is simple, doesn't have a 16 yr old going to prom ON SATURDAY and an aund/cousin/2nd cousin in town and a MIL on her way back here!!!!!

    CALGON...TAKE ME AWAY!!!!!!!!!
