Weekly Cleaning List Poem...

by Maureen

I asked the Lord to tell me
Why my house is such a mess
He asked if I'd been 'computering',
And I had to answer 'yes.'

He told me to get off my fanny
And tidy up the house.
And so I started cleaning up...
The smudges off my mouse.

I wiped and shined the topside.
That really did the trick...
I was just admiring my work..

I didn't mean to 'click.'

But click, I did, and oops I found
A real absorbing site.
That I got SO way into.
I was into it all night.

Nothing's changed except my mouse
It's very, very shiny.
I guess my house will stay a mess...
While I sit here on my hiney.

  14. Happy Monday Owls.

Mo, Love this poem. I always knew the reason my house looks like this, but I have no discipline. *sigh* I keep thinking I will really get in gear tomorrow, after all tomorrow IS another day. (said in my best Scarlett O'Hara voice)

Goldie, Yes it's a sad day for the airline industry. I'm praying, too.

Waving a wing to LynnD (congrats on #1), Jodi (love the 'bracelet'), Tina, IBB, Goldie, Bonacci, Carol, Mo, and all who land later.

I'm off to get that grey washed outta my hair. BBL

MO - thank for the cute poem - i KNOW this is why my house looks like it does!! In fact, I made myself promise that TODAY was the day - I truly started upstairs!! YIKES......(but - first - I have to start my day in the nest!!).

    Lynn - congrats on FIRST!!

Jodi - can't wait to see another "rack" pic..

Goldie and SacBarb and Lynn D - looks like I need to go read the news..... maybe I don't want to...

    ReplyDelete
  17. LynnD Congrats on #1. I'm sorry the news has gotten you down but I certainly understand.

Hodi Love the pic of you at the races!

MO I really enjoyed the poem! I have shaken crumbs out of my keyboard on many occasions. My house isn't clean and now my computer desk is messy, too. Ever since I've been counting calories, I have to write down everything I eat so I hve lots of sheets of paper accumulating on my desk. They're handy to refer back to but I think I need to remove ones I no longer need. Oh, and as I type this, I see I should really clean my monitor, too. I've never loved to clean house so my computer activities are a good diversion. : )

Then - you find things that you KNOW just need to go directly in the trash - but you feel the need to read them again.......

HELP - i need "Clean Sweep"!!!!

Keep, Sell, Trash!!! If only I could !!!!
    :-)

  23. Hi hooters,

Great blog today Mo! It is sooo easy to put things off and spend time on the computer. I do it quite often! haha

Today however I am having to watch a very energetic kitten, so have not had much computer time at all.

Nancy is into everything, have to keep an eye on her all the time. I think she has tried to get into every small space there is, even under the dishwasher. MR. EBJ just about had a heart attack when he saw her disappear underneath.

Right now, she is next to me on the desk, shredding up a napkin.

This afternoon, we are taking her back to the vet tech who raised her. We will officially adopt her on Friday! :)

She was tested for leukemia on Friday, luckily that was negative. She will get her 1st set of shots and then will be ours.

The vet tech will babysit for us next week, as I have to work a couple extra days, and we don't want to leave her home alone so soon, and for so long.

    Congrats on 1st today Lynn!

    The bracelet looks good Jodi!

    I will check back later.

  24. Good Afternoon to LYNN, HODI EUNICE, IBB, GOLDIE, BARB, BONACCI, MEK & SLIN & ALL who fly in later & ALL who are taking a blogging break.

  29. My plan was to get a good start today and get busy with cleaning and yard work. That didn't happen and my computer screen and TV screen are even still dusty. LOSER!!!!!!! Thank you MO for your so appropriate poem. I think I will print it and post it on my wall.

    Hi to EBJ & NANCY

  31. EBJ; So cute that you don't want to leave your new baby home alone!

It seems very quiet today. Was there some shin-dig everyone is recovering from?

I am very curious about what happened to that Air France plane. This seems reminiscent of JFK Jr. You just don't want to give up hope.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oops...not quite 40 but close!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hey MEK...thanks for your nice wishes. What are we watching now that BL and AI are over?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Love the my friends live in my computer cartoon. Now if all of you showed up at my house, would I say, get out I have to clean?....I think not. So, I guess we haven't a choice after all.....It would be rude to shut off the computer and clean.

    ReplyDelete
  35. MO: This poem so fits me as well. I have such good intentions but just don't get to them. Today I set my alarm for 10:30, finally turned it off at 11:30 and then watched the news. I "jumped" up and took a shower and dressed and into the computer room I went to clean...haven't done one thing and now I have to leave in 20 min.

I am going to pick up my granddaughters this afternoon for "second ear piercing hole day". They both are ready to venture into this and mom says ok. I made a date to take them and then to dinner. The oldest is excited and the 9 year old is apprehesive but wants to match her best friend. They both have had the first hole for a few years so we shall see what happens.....

J/L: Sorry to hear about you and Custard. I was just thinking about the two of you the other day and wondering if you were still in a relationship with him. I'm sorry that it didn't work out for you both.

Looks like things are pretty quiet the last couple of days. I know I don't have anything exciting to report...busy weekend but just normal things...(at my age that is good)!!!

MEK: Thanks for the Medium reminder. There is a new show starting on Thursday called The Listener that kind of looks like Medium that might be a good summer show for us to watch. Have you read about it at all?

Well, maybe if I move one thing in this office I can say I did some "clean-up" today.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Thanks for the MEDIUM alert MEK. Please give your little ANGEL a hug from me.

EBJ - What did POE say or do when he saw NANCY?

LYNN - I can tell you cleaned your computer. I have enjoyed my visit today.

    Hi to VIG

    ReplyDelete
  37. LANI: You could say "get out and HELP me clean".

    ReplyDelete
  38. IBB, Thanks. I was beginning to get a complex. LOL I'm better now!

MEK, Thanks for the Medium alert.

VIG, I know what I WON'T be watching and that is "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here" I must confess, also, that I am watching the Bachelorette.

    ReplyDelete
  39. DIANNE - Maybe we should start a group.....Dirty House Anonymous.

BARB - Aren't you expecting a hunk at your house today?

I better sign off and really do something.

    ReplyDelete
  40. 50 because I will be in two months!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hi SacBarb...I might watch the Batchorlette too...I don't usually but Jillian is from Canada. And on the last show when she took the Batchelor home to meet her parents, that was my hometown they went to. The land of the Ogopogo! Is tonight the first show?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hi to you, Lani...how's that beautiful grandbaby?

Jodi....like my avatar? It's abit "tiny'!

    ReplyDelete
  43. So will I VIG! But...you first..hehehe.... ;)

MO: This poem has me written all over it! My house should sparkle..it really should. I have all kinds of time to clean it..but instead I sit by the computer and check out websites, look for eggs on FB or play on MS. Even now, knowing I should get up and dust..I'm thinking instead that I need to check out something on Youtube!! Oh well..at least I thought about cleaning!

Thanks for the cute blog today MO!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Congrats on FIRST today LYNND! I checked out the news today after seeing your post. Damn..it's been one of those 'just too much' kinda days..hasn't it? I hope you are feeling a little better this afternoon!

JODI: I hope you took a pic of your son the asteroid!

MEK: Oh no! Not..the loft..?? ;)

J/LIN: I've never liked to fold clothes..I put the laundry basket waaaaaaaay over there so I can't see it from the computer. It works!! Hmmmm..shouldn't be proud of that, should I? ;)

DIANNE: Have fun with your granddaughters today!

Waving HI to TINA, SACBARB, GOLDIE, LANI, IBB, EBJ, BONACCI,
Annnd...BIRDEEEEEE..I saw you at Last! :D

Ok..I feel guilty now..I'm going to go fold those clothes. Hope everyone is having a great day!

    ReplyDelete
  45. VIG, tonight is the 3rd show. I think she is down to 15 guys...not sure.

Zona, thinking about it counts. I have dreamed that I cleaned my whole house only to wake up and be so disappointed. It seemed so real while I was dreaming.

    ReplyDelete
  46. SACBARB: Oh..I sure wish dreaming about it worked! Oooops..I really am going to go fold those clothes. Here..I..go..... ;)

    ReplyDelete
  47. MEK I still haven't cleaned my computer screen. You'd think I could at least do that today. To be fair, I did go to work for a little while and then to the gross-ry store. And now it's time for Ellen. : )

Dianne Thank you. Broken hearts suck!

    ReplyDelete
  48. MEK Congrats on 25!

    VIG Congrats on 50!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Okay, I cleaned my computer screen. Now I'm going to get the vacuum out. I may or may not use it. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  50. it's all yours, JL....and zona who I'm talking to on the phone, said with whip cream on top!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Good evening feathered friends!

    LYNN...congrats on 1st. I'm sorry the news of the day effected you so badly today. I hope tomorrow is a better day. {{hugs}}

Thanks to ALL of you for your fun comments to today's bloggy! I saw it and laughed then when I saw the cartoon, it just seemed perfect for here!! I wish I could take credit for the poem, but I can't! Not that creative!

    I'm glad you enjoyed it.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Oh, and JUST LIN...thanks for the QOTD again today ;)

    ReplyDelete
  53. zona......lucky me, I'll be first...and much older...for six whole days!

    ReplyDelete
  54. sniff...sniff....

    What is that smell?

Well, it would be me of coarse! Field Trip day on the big yellow bus. We went to the Discovery Museum in Rockford today and due to being on a bus it took 1 1/2 hours.

I'm just a little stinky right now.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Nice blog today Mo!

The start of summer for me, means deep cleaning while I'm off.

    One more day of school!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Hi Maureen....thanks for the fun blog today!!

    ReplyDelete
  57. hi iteach....how's it going

    ReplyDelete
  58. Lani, Yes I am expecting someone to be here between 5:00 & 6:00 to give me another estimate. Whether he is a hunk or not I don't know, but I have already decided, if the estimates are close, I'm going with the hunkiest.

Also, it sounds like instead of a DHA group, we should be DHU - Dirty House Unanimous.

    ReplyDelete
  59. VIG...I was thinking of you Saturday evening...I was at the laundry mat!! Gotta keep the Single Saturday Suddsers going!

    SACBARB...good decision...go with the hunkiest!

ITEACH...You don't smell that bad!! How is Mr. Iteach doing? How did he do on his test??

I am soooo NOT watching that stupid celebrity jungle show. And I am going to skip Bachelorette for House tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  60. hey y'all..flying by to check in! Internet still out!!:(

    Wished they'd fix it soon!

Maureen, I loved your blog!! I have seen that last graphic before and have always loved it!

I've been getting some late spring-cleaning done with no internet at home!haha

    Talk to y'all soon!

    Congrats on 1st Lynn!

    ReplyDelete
  61. JOEY: See..that's the thing..my computer didn't even work..and I STILL didn't clean! It's like a mental block or something!

I've folded three pairs of sox..well rolled them actually..

MO: Is House new? The last one I saw was really good...

The one reality show I don't understand is "Wipeout"...maybe because I kinda live it! :D

    ReplyDelete
  62. JOEY...hi!

ZONA...House was a repeat, but I never saw it because I wasted too many Mondays watching DWTS!! It was good tonight...then again it is always good. Odd, but good!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Okay, I never did get out the vacuum. I had to give my cat her fluids and now I'm cooking dinner.

Zona Thanks for the whipped cream! :)

    MO You are welcome!

iteach You only stink a little tiny bit. ;)

SacBarb I need to come and visit you. I don't have any hunks around here. :(

Joey Waving a wing at you!

    VIG Thanks for the march!

    ReplyDelete
  64. OK, I have an update on my A/C estimates. First of all, the guy that came out tonight was very nice, and he has been in the business for 40 years, so I couldn't call him a hunk. He is the owner and he has only a couple of guys working for him. His estimate was $4600.00 for the same size and efficiency as the hunky guy. So, goodbye hunk, hello old guy. And he will do it on Wednesday!!! Yayyyyyyyy

    ReplyDelete
  65. J/L, you are welcome to come and visit and I'll call one of the hunks to come fix something.

    Zona, ♥♥♥♥♥ U. Thanks. :)

    ReplyDelete
  66. I'm opening a bottle of wine. Anyone want a glass? I hate to drink alone.

    ReplyDelete
  67. SACBARB....WOO HOO!! 1/2 the price? That is AWESOME! Have a glass of wine for me, too! CHEERS! I am thrilled for you.

    ReplyDelete
  68. SacBarb~ I just kept thinking that you were paying double what you should be paying~ YAY for you!!!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Mo- The Mr. passed his math test with flying colors!!! It really gave him a boost with his confidence.

    However...................

Upon further review they decided he was three classes short from being in the eight week teaching degree program. So now he has to take three classes, then the eight week program, and finally find a math teaching job.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Can we all pretend that there is an Air France plane that crash landed on an island that no one can find and they are filming a new tv show there? hmmmmm?

    ReplyDelete
  71. Mo, OK, I'll have a glass for you too. I guess this is the difference between a big company and a small, owner run company. Plus, Dan, the electrician referred him and he fixed Dan's A/C. So what could be better than that? Well, if he was hunky, maybe.

    ReplyDelete
  72. SacBarb- I would like to celebrate with you, I'm raising my Dt. Coke in your honor right now!!!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Iteach~ Sacbarb has some wine for you!!! have mine, too!!~

    ReplyDelete
  74. this is really hard to do on a laptop!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  75. Tina, that sounds good to me. Wouldn't that be awesome if that was true.

    ReplyDelete
  76. SacBarb~ Who cares if he's hunky as long as his tool works!!!!~ ijs~

    ReplyDelete
  77. Way to go on the laptop!

    I'll BBL.......

    ReplyDelete
  78. ITEACH...and he will pass those 3 classes with flying colors, too. ANd before you know it, he'll be a math teacher...and a GREAT one!

    TINA...hi! How ya doin?

OK, so I am watching Medium...is she mean to her hubby or what?

    ReplyDelete
  79. Mo~ maybe he deserves it! ijs~ I'm okay....we are having one mother of a storm....it's kinda nice~ thunder, lightning, and lots of rain~

yes, Iteach, it would be grand~

    ReplyDelete
  80. TINA...maybe it is a Mother-in-law of a rainstorm!! bwahaha

    ReplyDelete
  81. Hey!

SacBarb glad you found a good deal for the a/c! That is a much better price.

MEK you are so right, I LOVE having a kitten in the house! It has been a long time.

We took her back tonight, it was very hard to let her go. We have both gotten very attached to her in the days we have had her.

VIG I have a couple more videos to post of her, I wil do that tomorrow. I have some of Poe I hav been meaning to put on, too.

Lani Poe likes kitties, he isn't bothered by Nancy at all. He meows at her and tells her to come here and get over here. Usually he does that to help us, when one of us are calling her.

I should be sweeping the kitchen floor but... haha! I have not spend much time on the computer today, so must catch up!

We or I should say I am watching the Bachelorette! I like Jillian so far, and I like the guy she had the single date with last week, the pilot.

Lots of the guys seem very immature. I think I mentioned that I was surprised she kept the guy who has the foot fetish!? She seemed kind of freaked out by it yet asked him "will you accept my rose". Oh well!

Barb yes I will have a glass of wine with you!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Ooooo I have 69 unread emails in my in-box!!

    ReplyDelete
  83. I almost put "in my box" L O L !!!!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Iteach, Here's to ya

Tina, I'll check out his tool on Wednesday.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Best of luck to your hubby Iteach, I hope he gets through the classes fast.

What does he have to take?

    ReplyDelete
  86. EBJ~ kitties are so cute.....hey...I swept the kitchen and dining room floor today....i even did the dishes....Mo....i think you made me do it!!!!!~

    Mo~ It's not a mil of a storm.....it's too nice~

SacBarb~ take pictures of his tool~ mkay?

    ReplyDelete
  87. EBJ, I'm so glad Nancy is working out for your family. Raising my glass to you too.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Tina, I'll take pics of his tool if I'm not too busy.

    ReplyDelete
  89. SACBARB...omg, I must have had some of that wine...I thought your comment read you will take a picture of his stool! Ewwwww!! I guess one glass of cyber wine is enough for me!!

    ReplyDelete
  90. I just gave myself a major panic attack. The clock on my PC is set to one time zone, my watch to another. Then the timestamp on the blog has yet another. Didn't know whether I was coming or going for a minute there.

    ReplyDelete
  91. SacBarb That is great news about the A/C estimate! I'm raising a bottled water to you. Also, it's the more mature ones that really know how to use their tool, don't you think?

EBJ You sure have a lot of activity in your box! LMAO!

iteach Do you think he can get all 3 classes out of the way in one semester?

    ReplyDelete
  92. Bonacci Sometimes that happens to me and I only have one time zone to deal with.

    ReplyDelete
  93. J/L, True, but it's fun to be the teacher sometimes too. :)

    ReplyDelete
  94. SacBarb Very true. Plus they can do it over and over until they get it right. :)

    ReplyDelete
  95. ohhh, we are gonna have a big storm soon. i'm ascared!

    ReplyDelete
  96. SACBARB...as long as his tools aren't metric!

    ReplyDelete
  97. SacBarb, it is completely your business, but I would question why the big difference in price. I'd wonder if someone was trying to rob me, or about the quality of parts/workmanship. The 40-year guy could just be giving you a really good deal, too.

I ran into the same thing with replacing my windows. It turned out the difference was due to the different window manufacturers. I also went with the cheap bid and was satisfied, but I'm glad I asked.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Tina and SacBarb, you are a sexual harassment suit waiting to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Zona, no wonder you don't get any cleaning done. You're busy bouncing on big balls.

    ReplyDelete
  100. SacBarb Bonacci has a good point. That is an awfully big discrepency. Is it all in the labor, or what? Is the older guy licensed?

    ReplyDelete
  101. SACBARB...is the warranty the same, too?

    ReplyDelete
  102. Just_Lin, thanks for making me feel better about my Twilight Zone moment. Nice to know I'm not alone.

SacBarb, I only brought the price discrepancy up because it's something I'd wonder about. Also, I'd be willing to overlook licenses if I trusted the person and knew he'd do right by me.

    ReplyDelete
  103. The three classes have to be in math even thought he passed the math test. It sounds kind of redunant to me.

Anywho, he talks to the head dude tomorrow to figure out which three classes for sure he has to take. Don't want to assume anything with the way classes cost.

    ReplyDelete
  104. OMG! The foot fetish guy is something else!

    ReplyDelete
  105. I don't like Conan any better at 11:35 then I did at 12:35 ;(

I may have to start going to bed early!

    EBJ...is Mr.EBJ swearing? LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  106. MO I'm going to check out Conan out of curiosity. I do like Davied Letterman. :)

    ReplyDelete
  107. J/L, I was thinking the same about the foot fetish guy. He is just plain creepy. And this David guy needs to leave, too. He is way too intense.

To everyone who is wondering: When the friend came over to look at the A/C, he told me what questions to ask so I could compare apples to apples. Both companies are licensed, and the warranties are equal. Most of the difference was in the labor. I feel the owner run company doesn't have as much overhead and that's why his labor cost was less. Having been a small business owner with my Hubby, I feel better about giving him my business and not just because the estimate was so much lower, but that did help.

When I talked to the friend about both estimates he said the lower estimate was more in line with how much it should cost. He is a retired A/C guy so he should know. I was very glad to hear that.

    Thank you for your concern.

    ReplyDelete
  108. WEST COAST...

DO NOT - I repeat DO NOT miss Medium!!

    OMG!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  109. SacBarb Great to know! We just worry about you. :)

MEK I never watch Medium any more 'cause I can't stand the one daughter. I think it's the middle one. Not wild about the husband either.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Good evening everyone!

Mo, thanks for the laughs. I think we are all computer addicts lol!
I have not had a lot of puter time lately. I have had so much to do that I think I went into a funky dive. A sweet friend suggested that I take a "Mary day" tomorrow and relax. I am going to do just that. I am going to visit my brother and hit the casino. I think I will call it my "guilt free" day! I need a vacation from my vacation!

You all had me laughing tonight.
My fave subject "hunks" & "porn" :)

Bonacci. I was super confused the last 2 weeks while traveling 3 time zones. My puter was on ET,watch, Vegas time, car clock was whatever state we were in time and my cell was home and Vegas time! No wonder my body is rebelling!

My sleep patterns are all f--ked up too! Hopefully everything will be back to "normal" soon!

Good night all. I am going to try to sleep Michigan time while my brain is saying "hit the casino, it's only 10pm" lol!!
    niters lurkers z-z-z-z-z- ^^
