First Impressions

by Bonacci

We recently had a very serious day at the nest that involved impressions and judgments. I thought it would be fun to share our impressions of each other. I’ve not seen most of you, so my impressions are based either on my interpretation of your online presence, or something you’ve done that stuck in my head.

Iteach: A small energetic woman. Always zipping around. Curious about the world and eager to experience it. Maybe a brunette with shoulder-length hair and long bangs.

Whab: I’ve seen Whab in the old chat, but it’s not what I see in my mind. He looks sweet in chat and I love his deep voice. I’m not saying he isn’t sweet, but I don’t see sweetness in my mental pic. A very masculine face with chiseled features. Hair about the same, maybe a mustache. Tall and muscular. Eyes that see everything.

Carol: Again, seen a pic but it’s not the same. Mentally, she’s a handsome woman. Like Markie Post but taller. (The actual pic makes me think more “pretty” like Susan Lucci.) Regal and commanding. People pay attention to her. Holding a Dunkin’ Donuts coffee in one hand, a flip cam in the other.

Kgrl: Pixie-like. Dark hair, maybe chin length. Slim build but muscular enough to handle some serious horsepower. Attractive but men are intimidated by her independence. Doesn’t take crap from anyone. Maybe in her early 30’s. Just a flash of The Terminator because of her back.

Mary/MI; A tiny little package bouncing all over the place. Long, dark, shiny hair. High Latina cheekbones. Always a big smile and bursting with light.

Mo: I’m so sorry! I can’t push that little pink piggy avatar out of my head! Full of practical jokes and devious enough to pull them off. Very short because well, she’s a little pink piggy with a curly tail.

DeeDee: Funny as Hell. Short dark, wavy hair, like she used a big round brush to blowdry. You can tell from her face that the gears are spinning inside her head, plotting her next devious prank. A red feather boa, sitting on a round bed while holding a phone.

Tina: I see two Tinas. She’s Eunice, the Valentine’s Day Eunice. The other Tina is a cheerleader. All-American, girl next door. She’s a mom now, so she’s cheering for her family. Zips around town in a minivan. Cute, little and spunky. She carries pom-poms.

Dianne/Denver: A ski bunny. Not sure on age, but definitely not a grandmother. Maybe a mother. Long, white-blonde hair and very white teeth. Can’t see her face well because she’s wearing ski goggles. Carrying whatever those pointy sticks are called.

Joey: Mid-20’s. Brown hair with highlights that he wears with just a little gel to give it a tousled look. The body of a tennis player. Girls want him because he is handsome and so sweet. He breaks their hearts because he tells them the truth, but they still love him.

Just_Lin: Some Asian-ish descent, long shiny black hair. Very pretty with amazing bone structure. Somewhere between 5’1” and 5’6”. Age between 25-35.

Zona: A sweet brown doggie who sometimes masquerades as Hugh Grant. Another owl’s daughter.

Bebbi: A fireball. Always walking, always spunky. Long blond hair she wears in a bouncy ponytail. Sparkly eyes and a visor cap.

LynnD: A toddler who for some reason, is always playing in the pool comes to mind. I don’t think this is her, but it’s what pops into my head.

Goldie: I think her avatar is her. A strong woman who can handle anything that comes her way. Loyal.

Shirley: Please do not boil me in oil for this. A chicken marching with determination around a house. It doesn’t matter that she’s missing some feathers. She’s marching and nothing will stop her. If it helps at all, the chicken is tall and thin. And really good at math. (This impression came to me when she was doing those long funny marches.)

Jodi: A British appearance, with a Queen-like handbag and a flowered hat. For some reason, I see her sipping a mint julep at the Kentucky Derby. Tall, thin and regal, with a long neck and shiny brown hair she wears swept up atop her head.

MEK: An archaeologist who looks very much like Laura Dern in Jurassic Park. Very tolerant of both people and her environment.

So that’s who these people are to me. Inside. Their actual appearance wouldn’t change the way I think of them. Well, it probably would with Zona, Shirley and Mo because they can’t possibly be a dog, a chicken and a pig if they’re blogging regularly. If I happened to describe you, is that how you see yourself? Are you surprised?

  2. You are right I have brown hair with bangs. :)

The energy part depends on the day and I am very curious.

    Neat blog. :)

  3. Good morning Miss Tina!

Oh, man, did I get a chuckle with a sight of you waving those pom poms around. lol

    ReplyDelete
  4. I can't get over the ski bunny~ :)~

    ReplyDelete
  5. Good morning iteach & Tina! What about your impressions of other owls?

I enjoy the blogging world precisely because our idea of a person is based mostly on who they are. Not what they look like.

  6. Happy Wednesday!!

    Good Morning......

    Iteach - congrats on FIRST..

Tina - I had to laugh at the pom-poms myself!!!

and -bonacci - I HATE to get my hands dirty!! nothing worse..

My biggest nightmare came true this a.m. - our "little one" brought me a dead lizard AND - I touched it not knowing what it was - SOOOOOOOO - let me tell you how many times I have washed these hands!!!!

I'm delaying going to the dog park hoping that one dog has left already!!

I hope everyone has an excellent day!!
    :-)

  7. Tina, sorry about the pom poms. I promised myself I'd be honest when I wrote the thing. Maybe it's a good thing I didn't include that cheer uniform I see you wearing?

  8. Good Morning Hooters!
    Congrats on 1st iteach!!

Loved the blog today bonacci and am equally laughing at tinas~"pom pom's my ass!!" quote.

I was very flattered by my description- the pic is me (although I was bedazzled by dee dee)
I do think I am strong and loyal.

Loved all the descriptions- so funny how we see others so differently in our minds.

Hope everyone has a good day!

  9. Bonacci, a woman of the world. I see you as a female James bond with a little bit of the old Bullwinkle cartoon character,Natasha, and that slinky cartoon character Jessica Rabbit.

I have met a few of these people so I have already formed my opinions. Until I met them I thought they were all ax murderers lol!

Tina, I like you little pom poms :)

I see iteach as a class room hero and a super Mom.

I see LynnD as a super everything! Scurrying around to save the world.

I see Tinka as a sweet Fairy wishing she had her magic wand back.

MO, sweet MO I am trying to get past the bacon image lol! I know you are a good sport and fun to be around.

Shirley to me you are the "Let's get this party started" kinda girl.

Zona,I see you as a mysterious seductive Ann Landers. Always there with a caring listening ear.

Diane, you are bubbly and evasive, always trying to hide from me lol!!

I will have to come back later and describe more of you. This is fun :)

    ReplyDelete
  10. Goldie, I see you with this big golden halo glowing all over you lol.. I just can't help it!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Morning Glories!

    Congrats on first Iteach!

I fell back to sleep after I posted way to early this morning and now I am running late! To hot to sleep last night.

Interesting blog Bonacci. Funny what first impressions can make but never judge a book by it's avatar! LOL

This toddler needs to toddle out of here and hop in the tub. See you all later!

    ReplyDelete
  12. BONACCI: A dog that looks like Hugh Grant...oooohhhkkaaayy. I want to clear this up though..I don't have fur, a tail or blue eyes..but I do like to lick sometimes.

    Congrats on FIRST ITEACH..

Good Morning TINA, MARY(thanks), GOLDIE, MEK and LYNND.

    Have a great day everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Goldi, hmm, ok the halo is around you ass lol!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I need to see a therapist to see why I keep leaving the "r" off all my "yours" lol!!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Zona, if there were a canine equivalent of you, I think it would be that sweet little brown dog. I would have nothing to do with, say a rotweiller. I think yours is a lab, yes? If I ran into that dog, I'd love on it a little then throw the ball it brings to me. Also, I would feel safe enough to NOT pick Ernie the Chihuahua up. I'd let them get to know each other.

    ReplyDelete
  16. bbl I have shit showered and shaved, but haven't eaten or read my daily newspaper.........

    ReplyDelete
  19. Tina..

    ReplyDelete
  20. Mary..

The QOTD that Shirley picked.. cracked me up.. LOL.. ,,,,,,,

    ReplyDelete
  21. Goldie..

Bonacci's description of you was so "right on", I agree...

    ReplyDelete
  22. Bonacci..

  25. Good morning!

    Iteach, congrats on 1st today!

Tina, I can just imagine you just shaking your pom-poms! lol

Loved the descriptions this morning! Interesting impressions you have there Bonacci.

Gotta get ready for work, hope everyone has a nice day today!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Bonacci: Totally fun! I'm actually not a very visual person in my thought processes... I think that's why I could never write fiction, so I don't form visual impressions of people I meet online.

Having said that, there's something else that's weird about this topic. Every time I've met an owl in person, and I mean EVERY time, their physical appearance has in some way surprised (and in some cases, downright astonished) me, because it was not what I was expecting.

I have no idea why... maybe it's just another illustration that our minds are quite distinct from our bodies?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Bear~ Every person I talk to on the phone or online....I think they are petite and young~ :D

    ReplyDelete
  28. great blog bonacci......

    first off...Tina does carry pompoms..you can't necessarily see them.....but she is a wife...a Mother...and a friend to many...a highly trained problem solver...tie breaker...and motivator.....in a way...we all have pompoms....but Tinas are huge...they sparkle...and can be quite dazzling...

as for me..add a Smith and Wesson 380....gray hair trained to be blonde....one good blue eye and ya got me.....

as for you missy.....I see Bette Midler prancing around the windows of her Malibu digs in 3 inch slides and skin tight stretch pants....just the way we see her now....an evolution in humor and beauty.....

Oh DAMN!! I seem to be stuck!! Could someone help me get my nose outta Tina and Bonacci's ass!!??

    just kidding....those are my impressions....

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think I'm gonna pee my pants!~ :D

    ReplyDelete
  30. I am going to get my ass kicked before the day is over. DeeDee will be heading up a posse of insulted owls. They will all be armed with spoons, knives, guns and craft supplies.

    ReplyDelete
  31. INSULTED?!!!! Your blog is freaking hilarious! I guess because it's nice to see ourselves thru someones eyes that really doesn't know us....and those of us that know each other...omg! Some of your impressions are RIGHT ON! There is one that is so wrong that it makes me laugh! :D

    btw....DeeDee would NEVER be seen with a red boa....always a pastel~ :D

    ReplyDelete
  32. Tina; which one is completely wrong? Part of my impression of DeeDee comes from that phone sex number she posted. That's what changed her from "prankster" to "sex-kitten prankster".

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'm not telling which one is wrong~ :)~

And ur DeeDee one is so right on...she does have another side that few get to see...but the one she puts out there....you got it! :D

    ReplyDelete
  34. okay......shhhhhhh....I'm in a training class now....not supposed to be on here....but I told the trainer that it'll be hard to stop me~ :D

    ReplyDelete
  35. I know. I was completely wrong about Shirley. She is not a marching chicken.

    ReplyDelete
  36. lol....I loved Shirley's description! It was so cute~

    ReplyDelete
  37. Bonacci....

no need to look over your shoulder all day.......you couldn't say the wrong thing....its about YOUR impressions....

your piece today is just plain fun....I love it....

    ReplyDelete
  38. You know it just occured to me that I am happy I am using the current avatar. Sometimes I use the golden retriever one..... just saying.

I think this is one fun blog today. Thanks Carol for the impressions- and its not easy walking around with a halo on my ass..

    ReplyDelete
  39. Carol,Shirley I just noticed the quote of the day! Bebbi has a few steps on me LOL!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Pixie and slim? HA so not....

Dark hair on my upper chin maybe~

    Funny blog Bonacci....

So those we're pom poms I felt on my back when giving you a ride on the motorcycle Tina?

    ReplyDelete
  41. lmbo! Nope, kgrl~ those were buttons~ :D

    ReplyDelete
  42. ok good, cause I thought they we're the macadamia chocolate kisses....seemed a lil pointy~

    ReplyDelete
  43. umm Bonacci?

Did you mean that Tina gives Pom Poms?

    Tina: UD #'s 3, 7 & best of all #14

    ReplyDelete
  44. Kgrl, I don't know what Tina's giving out. She's home alone. Anything could be happening.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Kgrl~ what does this mean?
    Tina: UD #'s 3, 7 & best of all #14

    Bonacci~ I'm not giving anything~ 2 mile walk, a little farming and a headache, then to bed~ real boring~

    ReplyDelete
  46. BONACCI - Not sure what you've been smoking, but you described DEE DEE, not me!! Never been to England and have never had a mint julip!!

    GOLDIE - How's your ass?!!?

TURTLE - lol @ dark hair on your upper lip!!

ZONA - You're so loyal and sweet!! Muah!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Jodi, your avatar reminds me of the Queen's purse. The rest is basically a cross between Princess Di and Julia Roberts.

    ReplyDelete
  48. TURTLE - meant upper chin? sorry!!! Too bad she hasn't seen your gorgeous blue eyes!!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Waving a wing @ ITEACH (congrats on first!!), TINA, MEK, MARY, LYNN D, CAROL, EBJ, and WHABBY....:O)

Got off of work early today and sat on the couch (or cooch) to rest my eyes, and BAM....it's 4 hours later. Oh my freakin' hell.....I guess I needed the rest. Still fighting this crappy summer cold/ sinus thingy.

    ReplyDelete
  50. TURTLE - Sorry.....must be the cold medicine. I'm gonna go crawl back in bed.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Tina, I was thinking more that you'd turned your house into a brightly colored cornucopia of toys and treats. Whirly-gigs, candyfloss, licorice and lollipops. You are after all, in my mind, an all-American, girl-next-door cheerleader!

    ReplyDelete
  52. kgrl~ ur one sick puppy~

Jodi~ how could you not know kgrl has green eyes? hmmmmm?

bonacci~ dear Lord woman! You are offically buying lunch now!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  53. TINA - It was the Spotted Cows....!! Again, my bad!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. <<<<<< ------ Thinks DeeDee should fly everyone here, and Bonacci should all buy us lunch at the Heights... of course DeeDee would be eating in the Halekulani as I can't picture her eating off a paper plate with chopsticks or plastic silverware.....

    ReplyDelete
  55. iteach: Congrats on #1

Bonacci: Very funny blog!! I love it. You are: Tall, long dark hair, very commanding and dressed in a super fashionable suit. (Demi Moore comes to mind). Spunky and forthright.

I will bbl, heading to yoga doodles.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Wait. What? I'm buying lunch? What's a haleaka-looni? Is anybody speaking English?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Bebbi; Almost! Blonde hair and I only dress up when they make me.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Bonacci the Halekulani is probably the nicest hotels on the island of Oahu and with maybe the exception of the Kahala, would be where I think DeeDee would stay~ ijs.

I picture Bonacci to be about 5'7" dirtwater blond, medium tomboyish build, nice tan. Jean and t-shirt wearing, tho she probably has worn bowling shoes outside of the bowling alley. And is probably just as apt to drink a fine cabernet as a longneck beer.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Kgrl; 5'10" - they call me Lurch.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I have been to the Kahala. Not the other one. I remember the Kahala has floors they call Concierge Floors. As far as I can tell, Concierge is Hawaiian for "free booze and snacks".

    ReplyDelete
  61. You should all know what I look like. My avatar was parading around, pretty much naked for a couple days not too long ago.

    ReplyDelete
  62. swosh, swosh, swosh....Hi it's me...Susie Chapstick...whoops...I mean Dianne in Denver!! Yes, BONACCIi, you have me pegged perfectly. I will have to say I have changed some over the years. I will update you on my "newer" look since your last image: I have gotten rid of that long blond hair and now have it much shorter and brown, I have added a couple of more chins and don't ski or wear those goggles quite so much anymore---otherwise, you are dead on!! :)

I will also let you know that TINA does have pom poms at home raising her family and when she travels too. She tried to get me to purchase a Bronco cheerleader outfit for her when she visited the first time but I had to draw the line somewhere with her.

Since meeting ZONA, she is the true swimmer we all imagine in our heads. She was quite disappointed when she came to Colorado and there was no pool in our yard and we had one hell of a time keeping her out of the bathtub.....one other note....she was wearing my goggles! I also have met BEAR and he was just as sweet and refined as I thought he would be but hey, that was over a year ago and now we know each other better so it would probably be a different meeting next time. I am still trying to find that Denver Lone Star for his visit.

One more person I have met was MEK. She was fun and easy to meet and kind of what I thought she would be like EXCEPT she "talked me into" happy hours, beers and fun (see my blog photos).

I will come back later with some impressions I have of people but I wanted to clear up the one on myself and the few others I have met.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Back from Yoga. I have had a terrible tragedy today. Okay, in the big scheme of things it is not so much, but to me, it brings sadness.

I splurged on a pair of really good headphones to listen to the telli at the Y. Well, Tuesday morning, somehow I lost them! I am Super BUMMED. I still have the great box they came in and the extra ear accessories but no cute little pouch with my cute little headphones.

I have searched High and Low and put up a sign at the Y. I hope they show up. I spent too much on them, but should have realized they would be like sunglasses and disappear.

As I said before, in the big scheme its a little thing, but this kinda stuff drives me to the brink.

    Okay. Whine. Over.

    ReplyDelete
  64. 12,101 steps and off for a walk..bbl.

    ReplyDelete
  65. BONACCI...spot on description of me, except I have curly hair to complement my curly tail. Getting shorter as I type...actually have gone from 5'4 and 3/4th to just barely 5'4". Exploding discs will do that. I hope I am funny, but I don't think devious...you'll have to ask the others about that part. I have managed to learn to type with my cloven hooves.

I am still trying to digest the rest of the descriptions.

Just wondering...GOLDIE, do you have to walk on your hands to get the halo to stay around your ass?? Or is your ass just that perky???

    ReplyDelete
  66. well, only 18,727 steps. Not that great of a walk really. But oil well.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Diane; YESSSS!!!! In hindsight, I was "profiling" you. As in, anyone from Colorado skiis. Sorry about that.

I did not know Zona was a swimmer. How could I have missed that?

Can't wait to read your impressions. I'm going to go look at your blog. I feel like a Peeping Tom.

Bebbi; I'm sorry to hear about your earphones:(

    ReplyDelete
  68. Mo, if I had never seen your avatar, I'd think something different. You, LynnD, Shirley and Zona are just pictures that come to mind when I think of you.

You are not anything like the real pigs I've met. I've only met one and he has issues, the first being that his name is Brittney.

Exploding discs? Do they really do that?

    ReplyDelete
  69. Bonacci: Thank you. I am in mourning and debating whether I will pay another $25 for another set. I probably will because I have this thing about if I lose something I like, I gotta have it. I will give it a few days though and see if someone shows a kind heart and returns them. If not, I hope they get an ear infection. *EVIL GRIN*

    ReplyDelete
  70. Bebbi:

Could they be in a pocket of clothes you wore to the gym? Or possibly fallen out into your trunk or between seats in your vehicle? I lose earphones all the time cause when I ride the motorcycle I have one ear pod in so I have music to listen to while I ride..... I usually find them when I am doing laundry or cleaning out my backpack etc....

    ReplyDelete
  71. Shirley....pencil those three in now k~

    ReplyDelete
  72. k-girl: I spent the evening trying to go through the car, the clothes, the couch, the coffee table, the kitchen table, old papers, two trash cans, my purse and one dirty smelly gym bag. I still am hopeful I will find them. I don't know if I dropped them when I was getting in my car or if I made it home and lost them somewhere around here. I figured I would cover all the bases by putting up a sign too. It never hurts.

I thought of the pants pocket too, because I have done that before but the only pair that had pockets didn't have them in it. I can't remember if I wore that pair or my Soffee's yesterday morning.

    ReplyDelete
  73. BEBBI...I got notification of a message you sent me on FB. I have a problem with my computer and FB doesn't work for me. Not a personal decision not to accept your friend request...computer issue. Next time I can get to my cousin's computer I will accept it.
Same computer issue that will not allow me to change my MS banner, comment on status banners, blogs or pcitures. Or to send picture comments. Computer repair isn't a financial priority these days.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Oh thanks Mo, I appreciate you letting me know. I hope you get your computer issues figured out. Totally no problem. I was worried that I didn't put on my deodorant or something. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  75. Mo- I have to walk on all fours to get it to stay there. Very inconvenient I may add.

Eating my strawberries, reading the rag mags I bought and then going to bed. Have a good night everyone!!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Mo, I just ran into a similar problem with one of my clients. If you're running Internet Explorer 8.0 and noticed the problem after you upgraded, it's an easy fix.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Checking in quickly as I need to strip and go lay in front of the freaking fan! It hit 105 today.

It has been a long sucky day. I had food bank and then discovered the freaking walk in freezer quit again. Same routine thawed food to sort and toss, general panic etc....Did not leave there until one had to run errands came home briefly to eat something, anything and then got the call that the repair man was twenty minutes away. Ran back met him. Found out that because it is so hot we now have to run water over the coils to keep it going through this damn heat!

Tried to call Mo to keep myself occupied while waiting for repair man to get done and my phone died. I am finally home as I had to monitor the water flow for a few hours to make sure all kept working and I have to freaking go back up in the morning.

I have now decided to start bringing my bottle of vodka with me when I do food bank!!!

    Ok going to get nekkid.

See you all in the morning.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Okay Ladies, I am going to bed. Good night and sweet dreams.

    ReplyDelete
  79. LYNN...crap, I read your post and looked at my phone...yes you did call. I'm sorry I missed it. I hope you are getting some rest now.

BEBBI...maybe you didn't put on your deoderant and the aroma effed up my puter!!! ijs!!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Good evening everyone!

Gosh, I feel guilty Lynn because we must getting all the cool air. I have had the air off now for about a month. Tonigh we are all wearing long pj's because we are chilly.

I'm not complaining I love it!

The farmers are not happy. Due to so much rain in the spring they planted their crops very late and now it is not hot enough to make the corn grow fast.

Hubby has been working on a farm for extra money and he loves the cooler weather. I am really proud of him for taking all these odd jobs until the right one comes along. He is a hard worker.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Has anyone else had cooler weather then usual?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Bebbi, so sorry about your earphones.

We lost our camera while we were in Michigan. We had to buy a new this week. I was not happy about that, but I feel so naked without one.

    ReplyDelete
  83. iteach, our weather has been cooler than usual, and have had a lot of rain. I think we have had enough warm weather for the farmers because the crops are looking pretty good.

Bebbi, I feel your pain. A couple of weeks ago I lost my bluetooth ear piece at a Church Festival. I left my name at the lost & found there, but no one has called :_(

    ReplyDelete
  84. Brrr, its been raining off and on today and now the say it's going down to 49 tonight---ahh, my kind of weather. I think we are getting the Washington weather this summer

    ReplyDelete
  85. Hi Diane. It has gotten pretty cool here tonight. It's 59 and dropping. Good sleeping weather.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Good, I'm glad some other people are enjoying the cool weather like I am.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I am heading to bed. Good night and sweet dreams everyone!
Wishing the same to the sweet lurkers :):)

    ReplyDelete
  88. it's cool here, too! It only got up the 90's today! But this weekend we go back to over 100~ yay! :)~

    ReplyDelete
  89. LAST!!!

    Crappy way to be last.

Woke up at 3:30 am could not sleep and said the hell with it and got up. It is 80 degrees on our porch.

I am glad some of you are getting cooler weather and I do think you are getting our normal summer!

We set all time high records for morning lows in 71 and 72 degrees and all time high for day time temps. Crazy!!! It was 109 at my Dad's house yesterday. He lives a further south than us.

I am going to go wander the internets for awhile before I check back in and then I am on the run today again.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Sorry Lynn D but you aren't last anymore. Hope you get cooler weather soon.

Bonacci I forgot to comment on your blog yesterday. Very brave topic to do. Now as for my description...you had me until the tall and thin part. I am just the opposite, but thank you for thinking that. Lol!!
