Follow the Curve....

It seems we are surrounded by sadness as of late. When one is hurting, I feel I am hurting as well. Its so hard cause all I want to do is give a hug and hold on tight, it is certainly my first instinct. But the computer screen is in the way, and I cannot find a way to time travel thru it. So for now my phone calls and sincere thoughts will have to be. Unless I can figure out time travel, then I would be in there in a flash.

Life is so tricky, you just never know when its going to throw you a curve, and many times, you are not ready for the curve, so you go straight trying to ignore the curve, but then all does not make sense. So you have to back up and be brave and strong and take the curve head on. Once there the strength will come, it will surprise you how strong you will become. There is reason for the path that curves, it is our destiny, its written in the cards. And perhaps like magic, when you are there, it will make sense, and allow you to continue on with bravery and strength that only the curve in your journey can give you.

And thru this journey, your heart will be full, the memories will wash over you with a stream of light that will remind you of yellow, and certainly comfort you. I say this with sincerity, as I felt such as I described with Aunt Jo. My heart is full, my memories of her over flow and I can promise, it shall for all of you as well.

Follow the curve, its yours, do as you will, it will be ok.

  3. CAROL: What a beautiful blog..and so very true. I find that the more I tried to prepare myself for things..the more unprepared I was. You really do have to just go with the flow..try to hang on..try to understand..and try to stay strong. It is so very very hard..but as you said..you will be surprised just how much strength you have inside of yourself.

My mom always thought I was the one that would fall apart when she passed away. I think I surprised my whole family by being the strongest of us all.

I sometimes don't have the words to say or even to write to those in the nest that have been hurting..I think my emotions steal them away. I know that my heart hurts everytime one of my friends is in pain..and I am always here if they need me. I just wish I could do more.

Wonderful blog today CAROL, thank you!

Scirish and Jodi have been on my mind alot. I think of Jodi and her Dad and remember my Dad. I think of Scirish and her mom and wonder how long I have left with my mum. It has been a very emotional morning. But I need to eat breakfast, shower and go up to mum's. Group (((HUGS))).

That was a wonderful heartfelt blog with good advice. It really seems like everything around me is in transition right now and it is hard not to try to control the uncontrolable.

Scrishy I am so very sorry for your loss and am thinking about you. I hope you can feel the love and hugs coming from the nest. I am sitting here visualizing giving you a big hug and holding your hand.

    I think I need a kleenex.

  11. good morning everyone, I can't stay long. We are getting ready to check out of our hotel here in Portland O. and get on the Amtrak to Vancouver.
I wanted to send {{HUGS}} to all that are hurting. :(

Carol, your writings always move me. The pictures were especially wonderful.

  12. It's raining cat's and dog's here today....actually since last night.

I've only had about an hour of sleep...power went off at 3a.m., line's were down in the backyard. About 7-8 guy's showed up a little before 7. Felt bad, they had to work in the downpour..
Finally getting to my cawfee! Now the cable guy's are out there putting that wire back up.
It's too damn quiet in this house!!!!!! And....I'm cranky!!

Gonna head to the shower in a bit, maybe that will improve my nasty ass!

Dianne, Sorry to hear your hubby took a fall.

    Bebbi, your niece fell, too!?

I hope they both feel better soon.

  14. Good morning, hooters! Carol, as always, you know just what we need and offer comfort for all!

I, like Zona, sometimes don't know what the right words are to comfort someone. I'm not religious, so it would be insulting for me to offer prayer. Indstead, I try to offer kind thoughts, warm hugs and a smile.

    ReplyDelete
  15. For everyone's information, that was NOT a typo. According to my laptop, which has 3 pretty vertical lines through the display, that is how the word needed to appear. So I'm not gonna fix it. Cuz it's fine. And I'm stickin' with that story.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Good Morning Hooters- congrats on 1st Zonabaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaby!!

Carol-perfect blog today. You always seem to just 'get it' and can express yourself so well.

bon- (I'm shortening your name from now on) I think that kind thoughts, warm hugs and a smile are the best things we can ever offer to those who need comfort.

Hope everyone has a peacefull day.

  20. Carol - What a beautiful blog. You write so well.
My thoughts are with Scirish, Jodi and Shirley this morning. These thoughts are mingled with my own memories. It was four years ago today we were happily preparing for my sister and BIL's 50th Wedding Anniversary. We were having such fun. One year later on the same day Joan was wrapped in a blanket sitting on the chesterfield. She had only a few days left for her on earth and was trying to enjoy the little party we had for her 51st. Who would have predicted it? Life can hold such joy and such sadness. Last year this time I was telling my mom if she lived to be 100 she would get a letter from the Queen. She decided that day she would wait for that letter. God had other ideas.
Today my heart goes out to Scirish, Jodi and Shirley as they face difficult days ahead. It's the circle of life but sometimes that circle is not easy. I will join in the group hug (((((((HUGS)))))).

    ReplyDelete
  21. Zona - It's amazing what strength we do have inside us. It takes a major tragedy to discover it is there.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Lynn - I need a kleenex too. Pass them around.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Bona - Kind thoughts, warm hugs and a smile are always welcome.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Mary - I will wave at you across the water when you are in Vancouver. If it wasn't a day's trip to go there and back I would meet you for tea and crumpets.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Goldie - I am shortening bonacci name too. It will be bona (with respect).

    ReplyDelete
  26. Birdee - What a horrible way to have to start your day. Let's hope each hour gets more enjoyable. I just can't picture my Birdee cranky.

    ReplyDelete
  27. We had a lovely restful time at the farm. As soon as I can get rid of the pain in my legs, hands and back I will enjoy it even more. I get my test and x-ray results on Wednesday. Off to ice my back. See you all later. Love, Tinka

    Waving at Tina

  28. Good morning Owls.

Carol, I love the heartfelt blog you wrote. You always seem to have the right words. It is true when life throws curves we have to go with it, otherwise we will go over the edge. As difficult as it is, we seem to find strength we didn't know we had. Thanks for reminding us. ♥♥♥

    ReplyDelete
  29. Zona, Congrats on #1. Another schedule change???? Did you even get used to the last one.

Tinka, I hope you can get some relief from the pain.

Shirley, sending positive thoughts for you and your Mum. (((HUGS)))

    Mary, Safe travels

Waving to Tina, MEK, Lynn, Birdee, Bonacci, Goldie, and all the other Owls.

  30. Good morning!

I agree that Carol always has the right words of comfort. I usually have a hard time finding just the right thing to say, even though my heart is breaking inside.

I would like to let Scirish, Jodi, Shirley and anyone else who is having a difficult time know that I think of you and feel for you.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Congrats on 1st today Zona!

Tinka I was going to ask if you and Mary were getting together, but you answered it for me.

Nancy the kitty goes in tomorrow for her surgery. MR. EBJ plans to ask our vet if we can bring her home rather than leave her overnight. He does not want her to be alone and afraid, so he decided she isn't staying unless the vet insists.

I like the nick name "Chi Chi" for Bonacci, although I seem to remember my grandma referring to her breasts as chichi's. haha!

    ReplyDelete
  32. SaBarb - Thanks for your concern. I know there are a lot of people worse off than I am but pain does get so tiring.

East Bay J - I think it would be good to bring Nancy home. She doesn't need any more separation anxiety. She will sleep most of that first day and night anyway so it's better for her to be in her own bed.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Maybe not or maybe I will get a surprise. I think I see Mek lurking.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I guess it wasn't Mek. I will be back later.

  35. Well, somebody will start marching...

    ReplyDelete
  36. Cuz we're getting close to that number...

    ReplyDelete
  37. Maybe someone who needs a pick-me-up...

    ReplyDelete
  38. Tinka Congrats on your marches. At first I read that you needed a break from "snoring". LOL

Zona Congrats on first this morning. You wrote some beautiful words today, also.

Carol Beautiful words of comfort today for all the Owls. Sometimes it seems we will never make it around that curve, it is uphill and difficult to navigate but my putting one foot in front of the other and being courageous, we do make it in time.

(((HUGS))) to all that need them.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I meant "by putting" not "my putting" but I'm too lazy to delete and type it over again. : )

    ReplyDelete
  40. Bona - I will get you started and then I am going down for a nap. That's my 'pick me up'

    ReplyDelete
  41. Zona - I hope you are having a good sleep. Call me tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Tina - All the way to 69!!!!!!
You were hiding in the trees I see.
Off for my Slim Fast and nap. I think I said that before but this time I mean it. See you all later.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Tina Nice move on the 69. Did you do that from work?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Good afternoon Lynn D, Birdee, Mary, Bonachichi, Goldie, Tinka, Sacbarb, EBJ, JustLin and Tina.

I just got home from mum's. My sister, niece and nephew came down and are staying overnight with mum. It is really hot and humid here (well not like in AZ but...) and I have a headache so I decided to come home and try to keep cool. Thanks for all the kind thoughts and hugs for me and mum.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Carol, your words flowed beautifully today! Thank-you!

And Zona, so did yours! When you said this...:

"I sometimes don't have the words to say or even to write to those in the nest that have been hurting..I think my emotions steal them away. I know that my heart hurts everytime one of my friends is in pain..and I am always here if they need me. I just wish I could do more."

... I was feeling exactly the same way!

    ReplyDelete
  46. lol....you got ur age~

    J/L~ yes....i got 69 at work~

    ReplyDelete
  47. CAROL, you once again have written a beautiful blog and I love the pictures as they so suit the words.

My heart also goes out to anyone hurting right now.

DEEDEE: Yea, you are back from your "boat trip." You have a lot of work ahead of you getting TINA back into shape...good luck...

I am home from getting my first root canal taken out and now in two weeks I will get it put back in. Meanwhile, next Monday I will go and get the crown on the second root canal that now seems to be healing.

MrD was able to drive to the mountains today as he had a meeting for the day and into the night. He is walking much better.

I am off to take some meds and jump into bed for the rest of the day and sleep so this tooth won't hurt.

Everyone have a good day and again, good thoughts being sent out to all.

  49. DeeDee Welcome home! Did you enjoy Madonna? Was there a riding crop involved?

Dianne I feel so sorry for you with all the dental stuff you have going on. I am proscrastinating about going to the dentist. The situation is drastic, we knew it was coming to this, and I am trying to get up the courage to deal with it. : (

That was my delete. I accidentally left out a sentence.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Just Lin!! Bonachichi! OMG Dianne!!

lol...no crop...well not til later at the hotel....
I am very glad I went. it was in a field..standing only....and the excitement was palpable. Amazing from the time we landed until we took off for home. Everything in Prague was about MADONNA!!! The good..the bad..and the ugly..lol

Dianne...I have seen that Tina has just run amok since I have been gone......I think I may have to send her to one of those "Outward Bound" programs to try and straighten her out!!

  51. CAROL - Beautfiul blog. My road has a major curve in it now. It is official, Dad has end stage emphysema. He does not want to go to the hospital, and does not want oxygen at this time. It is his wish to stay at home. So that is what we are doing....as comfortably as possible. The steroid he started taking on Saturday has helped. He actually did a few little things in the house today, and is talking of mowing (on a rider) the lawn tomorrow. I'm glad my brother and I went to his appt (and we will be going to them all). Dad and his dr. are on the same page.....and for this I am thankful. I was really scared on Saturday, but now that I've accepted my Dad's choices, I have a strange sense of calm. My Dad is not afraid of his mortality. I shared with him what Carol said about Mom and Dale holding his hands thru this....and he said EXACTLY!! And I knew that it was going to be ok.

Thanks again for all the (((hugs))), prayers, and support. I appreciate it more than you know. ♥ ♥ ♥

    ReplyDelete
  52. TINA - I'll make sure to ask Dad that question tomorrow!!!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Just a slight clarification.....Dad, the doctor, my brother, and I are ALL on the same page!!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. TURTLE - I will....and thank you!!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Jodi Big, warm, loving (((HUGS))) to you. I think it has really eased your Dad's mind to know that you understand and accept his decision. It is very loving of you and your brother.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Are there any marchers out there?

    ReplyDelete
  57. DeeDee Get that riding crop out and get these people moving!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Oh, Carol, I loved your "curve" blog today.

We were thrown another curve today. A company that is five miles from our house called and said that tomorrow they would like to present him with an offer.

So now hubby is going there tomorrow to see how it is compared to the one he was offered last Friday.

It would be so cool if the pay was right, because then he wouldn't have to worry about that commute.

Ughhhhhh my head is spinning. The call came at 6:00 p.m.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Quietly marching so as not to wake up Dianne.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Zona... Good Morning.. :O)

    Happy 1..

    ReplyDelete
  61. Bonachichi I thought you might zoom in on your chariot, swinging low, of course. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  62. Tinka I sure hope you're feeling better. Very gentle (((HUGS))) to you.

    ReplyDelete
  63. My blog today was to share the feelings we all have in time of sadness.. I know how hard it is.. I am glad we have the nest to come too.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I just read all the comments and they were are so caring and beautiful.

I can't think of anything else new to say except that Scrish, Shirley, and Jodi are so deep in my thoughts. I'm always thinking of you.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Dianne.. I did know about your hubby.. I hope he is feeling better..
    and you too..

    ReplyDelete
  66. J/L.. sorry.. I was not paying attention.. my dad handed me some paperwork.. and of course all attention had to be paid to him..

Damn him, he stopped me from marching.. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  67. Iteach..

That is good news.. He keeps his options open, yet always going for more money.. however if the offer is a little less.. you should take in consideration the commute cost's as it might work out the same..

    ReplyDelete
  68. Jodi..

As dad wishes, so be.. Kudos to you for being there for him, and allowing him to do with his life as he chooses. Glad you told him what I said, however I think he knew it all along.. ♥♥♥

    ReplyDelete
  69. Carol I paid CiCi to do that. : )

    ReplyDelete
  70. J/L...

Exactly.. "one foot in front of the other"..

  71. Soooooooo what does everyone think of DWTS line up????

I love Donny, hope he does well, and I am looking forward to see Kelly
Osbourne, she seems like such a kluntz and not lady like so I think it will be fun to see her transformation..

    ReplyDelete
  72. That is if she has a transformation..
    LOL

    ReplyDelete
  73. Carol I haven't heard who will be on besides Donny and Tom Delay.

    ReplyDelete
  74. That senator guy should be fun to watch to..he is so stiff... and I think the little bebob boy will do well.. can't remember his name..

    ReplyDelete
  75. Urggg.. I have the news on.. tomorrow here in NJ.. 95 Hot and Humid.. Yuck!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Shron Osbourne would be more fun. They would have to do alot of bleeping. LOL Of course, that may happen with Kelly too.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Who the hell is Shron? I meant Sharon.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Oh and this is gross.. several NYC apt buildings are infested with bed bugs.. Double Yuck! don't these bugs have any other place to go except to beds.. On second thought, maybe they like it.. ;O)

    ReplyDelete
  79. J/L.. all the names are on the GMA website and the DWTS website..

yes.. I agree.. Shron would be fun!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Too bad Bonnie Hunt already has a good job. She'd be good and also funny.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Diane, root canals suck! Hope you're feeling better.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Zona: Congrats on first.

J/L & Tina...all I can say is thanks so much! You guys are the best. :) You made my nite last night! :) :) :)

I had jury duty today and got off at 12:30 ...yay! Had a nappy and got some stuff on ebay after a long time of procrastinating about it!

Gorgeous clothes and I have tons more to put on. Happin3ssis is my name there if you ever go to ebay, look me up!

Carol: Loved your blog today. It is true. I find as I get older I am having more trouble with change. I used to be so flexible in my life and now I want it to stay the same, but it won't.

Jury duty tomorrow again so I am off to check out Big Brother for a bit before beddy by.

Hugs to all and again..J/L, Tina and Bonachichi. You guys make my heart warm. :)

    ReplyDelete
  83. J/L: Yes, but not until now! LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  84. oohh..a bonus 125 too. wow, cool.

    ReplyDelete
  85. You all feel free to call me anything you like! I'll know...

    ReplyDelete
  86. Oops..whabby got it..haha. Hi Whab, good to see you. I hope you are doing well.

    ReplyDelete
  87. DONNY OSMOND...awesome!! Kelly Osbourne, cool.....!! Tom Delay....WHAAAAAAAAaaaaaaa????...lmao.

    ReplyDelete
  88. oh give me a freaking break.....Di is just fine~ I talked to her earlier~ I do have to say, tho.....she told me what it felt like to get her shots...like "fucking shit!" :D

    ReplyDelete
  89. Just_Lin; Zoom on the chariot? There's no zooming on that chariot! It's a trash bin on wheels, being pulled by a quad. Very bumpy, especially when you land.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Birdee: Yes, she fell last night. I did find out that her ankle or leg are not broken. She just has a bad sprain. They were unable to get her up though, so she had to be carried out of the basement. She is resting on the couch upstairs and is in bad pain. Sprains can be more painful than breaks sometimes, I think. She has really bad bruising and swelling. I guess we should be thankful it isn't broken. She is a large girl and it would have been very bad. Still bad though, she can't even walk to the restroom!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Dianne: Glad to hear that Tina says you are just fine. Root canals...ew..they are a mess.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Okay, seriously going now. I have to get up and work out early and then go to lovely downtown Louisville.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Well now I think I've caught up to the rest of the class. I ate a chicken hot dog today and the Civil War is being re-enacted right here in my colon. North against the South.

    ReplyDelete
  94. well that's definitely a bit of information that I always wanted to know~ ijs~ :)~

    ReplyDelete
  95. Tina, I was very proud! Of eating the hot dog, anyway. I think I'll wait another 20 years before trying it again, though.

    ReplyDelete
  96. you know they're allowed to put 6 rat hairs in each hot dog, don't you?

    ReplyDelete
  97. I am heading for bed. I just wanted to send out a warm hug to Jodi, Scirrish, Shirley and anyone else who needs one tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  98. I think I will march myself to bed.

    ReplyDelete
  99. God bless all the little owls and keep them safe and warm (or cool) tonight. Love, Tinka

    ReplyDelete
  100. I thought those hairs were from my chin!

    ReplyDelete
  101. Tina LOL The way you said that, it sounded like they purposely go pluck some rat hairs just so they can place them in hot dogs! There's an allowable amount of odd stuff in chocolate, too, but I still love it.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Nite Tink, Nite Bebbi..

    Hi Tina, Hi Bonacci..

I am off to bed.. all this hot dog talk with hairs in it, for some reason has made me sleepy...

I just hope I don't dream of a large hot dog with hairs on its ends.. cause that would be such a shame..

    :O)

    ReplyDelete
  103. Good night sweet Tinka. Sweet dreams.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Carol That sounded pornish in a really ugly way! ROFLMAO!

    ReplyDelete
  105. Bebbi Sweet dreams to you, too! You probably walk in your sleep, too. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  106. J/L~ thanks for the QOTD....i just saw that~ :D

    ReplyDelete
  107. Tina Is everybody ready for school?

    ReplyDelete
  108. J/L~ Hubby started today and the kids are going to school tomorrow to put their books in their lockers...the twins start on Friday and the "senior" on Monday~ CAN'T WAIT!!! :D

    ReplyDelete
  109. Tina Oooooh, you'll have "quiet time" again. Don't ya just love it?

    ReplyDelete
  110. yes....I'll have quiet time....and yelling and fighting and homework~ I think I need to move~ :)~

    ReplyDelete
  111. Oh, yeah. I forgot about the yelling, fighting, homework part. That was brutal.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Kgrl Congrats! I guess Tina and I were asleep at the wheel on that one.

    ReplyDelete
