Plan A

Even when the mind seems blank for words, I for some reason can find the words. Now they don't always flow, and perhaps don't make sense, but words have become my friend, so in my need at a late hour, my friend, the words are here with me. What I want the words to say is a jumble, so I have to pace them out so they can make some kind of sense. My feelings for now, are very confused, the economy has hit me hard, and my worry is daily. I did not think at my age I would be in this position of worry, I had it all figured out. But as we all know things don't work out as planned so there should always be a plan B. Well I don't have a plan B, cause I like plan A, and did not think I would need a plan B. I guess now is the time to think of plan B, but I am too tired tonight, so plan B will just have to wait, and in the meantime I will work my bones to the core on plan A.

I wonder? Do others have a plan B when plan A is so loved..

  11. Good morning Tina, Birdee and Shirley!!

Carol, I think people's Plan B was their IRA. Unfortunately, that's not going to cut it anymore. There are going to be a lot of seniors living in poverty.

  14. Morning Glories!

    Congrats on first Tina!

Hmmm a plan A and a plan B. I guess we have one but if all else fails I have to an extent learned to roll with the punches. My plan C is to be a greeter at Wal-Mart or to sell everything I have and move to a country that has Universal health care and the living is cheap. I guess that would be a 2nd world country.

For now I am just living in the moment and sending up thanks for what I have. Really can't control tomorrow as hard as I try. That changes daily by the way as there are days when I try to wrestle my way to the ground but that just causes insomnia and zits.

Have to fly again this morning! To much to do and so little time.

Carol sending you (((Hugs))) I know that everything is crazy. When it seems like this to me I dig out an old saying "Will this matter 10 years from now?" and my other favorite "I can only do what I can do."

  16. Tina: LOL! If the Universe was created by the Christian God, then anytime we learn something about how it works, we are revealing His plan.

OMG(!) Carol... if we go back to the Old Testament and the story of the Flood, then I guess in some ways we are all the product of God's.... Plan B! LOL!

  17. 'Ello 'Ello!!

CAROL: No Plan B here..we just keep praying that Plan A continues to provide. I guess that may not be too practical..but it's the reality for us.

Hang in there CAROL, you're in our prayers too..{{hugs}}...

TINA: Congrats on FIRST..I see you brought Madonna with you.. ;)

BIRRRDDDEE: Loved your entrance this morning..LOL...

    MEK: What's new pussycat? ;)

  18. Good morning, HOoters!

Carol No Plan B here, either. I was fortunate to have jobs that provided for my children and I. Plus, being a widow, I received SS benefits for them when my jobs didn't pay really well. After they were grown and out of the house, I married my second husband and he had the foresight to have had several plans going and that provided well for his retirement and provides for me now that I am retired. He put in a whole lot of work to do that, tho. He retired from 3 different professions.

LynnD If I recall correctly, Norway is the way to go. There are no super rich and there are no poor. Everyone is pretty much on a level playing field. No homeless and the housing is comfortable. Health care is provided for. They don't have the big worries and stress that we do. They're happy.

  19. Carol..... I hear ya and feel ya. Tourism as you know is hit hard. I have no plan B either. I am holdin on right now, but it's gonna get worse. BUT it will get better.

    Morning Hooters~

  20. Happy Thursday Owls.

Carol, My Hubby and I had no plan B and I had to develop one quickly when he died. I thought that would suffice, but lately I've decided I need to develop a plan C, D, and maybe even through Z. I keep hearing things will pick up, I just wish 'they' could give us a timeline.

  21. Tina~not in ut, Congrats on #1. Are

Birdee didn't get the worm today.

Turtle, So glad the storm wasn't bad and you are safe. Did you get to see Gwen last night?

    Hey to Bear and Bonacci.

I have to sort through two months worth of mail so I'll be back later.

  22. Sacbarb: Nope....apparently her security was uber lockdown tight. My friend who is the concert promoter's photographer had to sign papers! No posting of the pics on the internet, no selling of the pics, no pics that show any of the band members in a "bad" way... My friend had all access, and she said the concert was off the hook, but that there we're too many rules.

Ill just keep going and seeing local entertainment, besides they are my friends~ ;0)

  23. Barb~ Apparently, i forgot to come home~ :)~

  24. Mornin' hooters! I am being super lazy today here in Vegas. I was up late last night. I had a hot machine that wouldn't quit lol! I didn't make a lot of money, but racked up a lot of points, which goes towards nice comps.

    Tina-not-in-Utah,congrats on 1-8!

Carol, I never had any plans, as I was so busy trying to cope with work and raising 2 boys after divorce. I was fortunate to always have a decent paying job with very good benefits.I didn't lose too much in my PSP.I sold my GM stock just before the big drop, and my retirement is decent. I worked hard for many years. Quitting was never an option. My body has paid dearly for it, but I have no regrets. Mr Mary was a work horse and was big on saving for the future, so we are secure...so far lol!

    Have a great day everyone!

  29. Ok so my friend that couldn't get me into the concert last night just called and I am going to see something called "Slava's Snowshoe"? It is appartently like Cirque de Soleil....anyone ever heard of it? It is playing at the Hawaii Theatre and we also get to have dinner with the crew.

  37. TINA - Holiday......celebrate!!!

CAROL - Sorry your business isn't doing what you would like right now. Hang in there. Plan A is working for us right now. In this stinking economy the company that I work for is smelling like a rose!! They were very smart when they built their business...all vertical integration. Just means that we sell many products that we produce and make money every step of the way. Hubby works in the construction industry and we are thankful everyday that he is working. He was laid off for over 6 weeks last fall but has been working for the same company since November, and has survived numerous layoffs. I guess my plan B is to find a second part-time job, because with 3 kidlets the money doesn't go very far. There are a couple big catalog companies in my area (including American Girl) that are hiring for the upcoming holiday season.

ZONA - Your candle didn't work....I guess we'll have to try again on Saturday!!

Waving a wing @ the rest of the HOoters!!!

  38. Tink, I am sorry you're hurting and are having to be tortured to find relief.

Tina, glad to see you finally figured out you were home.

Kgrl, I think that any show where you get comp tix and backstage/crew access would be a "go". Give yourself a night out!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Bonacci...

I am lucky to have friends in the industry here. Not only are alot of them performers themselves, but many of them work behind the scenes...production companies, photographers, etc.... I did accept and will be meeting my friend after I visit a liqour trade show tonite. Have to decide on some new wines for the cruise ship.

  41. Whoaaa Kgrl; YOU get to pick out the booze for the ship? You should make your decision very carefully. Sample everything at least a few times.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think next time I want to take a walk when it's 92 degrees outside(I thought it was 90) I need to check the humidity. It was at 70%!! It was like walking through a sauna out there. Ugh..now I need to go fall in the pool..

    JAAAXXXXX!! :D

Energy depleted...heat and humidity win.. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  43. GOLDIE: How did the crafting go? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Actually my libation of choice is DiSaronno and fresh OJ over ice. Wines, especially the reds give me headaches cause of the sulfites...I still sample I just don't swallow...bwahahaha, I have to spit! It's a shame too sometimes especially when I am sampling silly lil wines like Opus or Chateau Montelena or Pahlmeyer...lol. BUT I do stop at the champagne tables. LOVE LOVE LOVE Perrrier Jouet Blanc de Blanc....

Makes all those weeks of buying nuts, bolts, and toilet paper worth it I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Kgrl; I remember you telling me about the DiSaronno drink. I've kept that in my head for the next time I try to drink alcohol.

If it tastes the way you say it does, I might just be able to move from the kiddie table to the grown-up table.

  46. Hey, Zona... I'm pushing you into the pool! Shoes and all! Ker-Splash!

  53. Having a plan B would requiring having a plan A!

CAROL...like you, I never expected to be in the position I am in at this stage of my life. I guess if I am honest with myself I would admit that when my plan A wenting crashing to the ground I got so freaked I haven't really created a new plan. I am just flying by the seat of my pants and hoping to be able to get to the next day, yet alone a long term plan. I need to get working on that.

TINKA...sorry you are in such pain. I hope the tests reveal a way to treat you and give you relief.

ZONA...DON"T GO WALKING IN THIS HEAT...ijs!

    IBB...If you're reading...HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

JAX...pleasant surprise to see you fly by!

SACBARB...glad to see you back in the nest. I hope that means that your son is doing well.

    JODI...hope things go well tomorrow. {{hugs}}

DiSARONNO?? Did I hear DiSaronno? Count me in! KGIRL...funny you mention that today. I was talking to one of our supply distributors today as I was ording some things and couldn't find a few items. Ater I told him about the items, I mentioned I couldn't find the Amaretto on the order form! He then asks what size I wanted and then dead silence when he realized what I had said!! He thought it was funny...I was being serious!!!
    Cheeeers!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Uh-oh. Poor Madonna. DeeDee will find her!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Well, I guess I'm going to have to try some DiSaronno & O.J. Someone's going to have to give me the recipe. Is that what you call it? I mean, how much OJ and how much DiSaronno?

    ReplyDelete
  56. CHICHI...it is up to you - the recipe. If you like it sweeter and (more potent!) add more amaretto! I tend to say the more the merrier!

A shot in a cup of coffee works, too ;)

    ReplyDelete
  57. Mo... You don't understand. I don't drink. I took Benadryl the other night and was posting like some shameless drunken hussy. Hit me like a brick, it did.

  58. Plan A....great blog today Carol. The words you have chose echo our lives right now.

We lost Plan A 15 months ago.

We kept searching through it high and low. It has been exhausting, draining, and sad.

We went to Plan B which at first sounded like a quick fix. Until we found that we had more hurdles to jump and it would take 12 months to complete.

However, in the meantime two opportunities have come up to make us revisit Plan A.

It has been exactly four weeks since these new opportunities surfaced.

The waiting game has been unreal....waiting for the phone to ring....or an e-mail.

It has been hard to interact with other people when your mind and heart are at a disarray.

Then today the phone finally rang today with encouraging words. It gave us more hope.

Hopefully, by tomorrow we will decide with Plan A or Plan B.
