A five year old child asks the simple questions, of the man in red with the sled.....
But how can his reindeer fly without wings?
Jets on their hooves? That's plain cheaqting!
And how can he climb down the chimney pot
When we've got central heating?
You say it's all magic and I shouldn't ask
About Santa on Christmas Eve.
But I'm confused by the stories I've heard;
I don't know what to believe.
I said that I'd sit up in bed all night long
To see if he really would call.
But I fell fast asleep, woke up after dawn
As something banged in the hall.
I saw my sock stuffed with apples and sweets;
There were parcels piled high near the door.
Jingle bells tinkled far off in the dark;
One snowflake shown on the floor.
He was here, He was here.
It is true, there really is a Santa Claus!
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE EVERYONE!!!!
ReplyDeleteCarol, thanks for putting me in a warm snuggie out fit! It's very cold here lately!

ReplyDeleteCAROL: Of course there is a Santa Claus..I never doubted it for a moment! :)
ReplyDeleteBIRRDDEEEE!! Congrats on FIRST! You're looking very spiffy this morning!
I posted in Area 51..and ahem..I WAS last..until a certain someone who's name is MO snuck in.. ;)
Cheesecakes are done..house is clean..gifts are almost all wrapped..dog is fed..so I'm going to take a very short winter's nap and then get up and make the filling for the perogies we are making for dinner. Yummy!!
Have a safe, happy Christmas Eve everyone!
Delete was mine.. ;)
ReplyDeleteBIRDEE: Yes, I think I am!! :D
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas Eve Morning Glories! Ha ya like that?
ReplyDelete(((Hugs))) on first Birdee! Is that polar fleece you are wearing? I think Carol raided my closet.
I am going to be on the run today as I am the official Santa Elf in our house!
Have to get last minute things for our dinner tomorrow and Mr. Lynn D insists we go to Costco too! I could just clunk him in head with a candy cane!
This is his usual Heckle and Jeckle shopping because he waits to the last minute every year and then says it's Christmas Eve already?
PS. I am drugged up with Ibuprofen and playing mind tricks on my body! I AM NOT GETTING SICK!
Zona wish you lived closer so I could borrow some of your baked goods!
Ok have to finish on FB and get in the shower.
Deedee you are a true friend!
ReplyDeleteOk really have to run!
Good morning ho-ho-ho's....
ReplyDeletethanks birdee....I'm no stranger to suffering.....kidding...you do what cha gotta do....
I do have to admit though that yesterday and last night I couldn't help feeling a little disappointment......thinking about being out on the runway in that long thick Gulfstream jet...engines humming....building up thrust...vibrating...whining then screaming with empowerment...then being unleashed and thundering mercilessly down the runway then suddenly ripping toward the heavens until from 50,000 feet I SEE THE FACE OF GOD!!!!! Ahh! Oh! YES! YES!YES!..................oh...my....could someone pass me a Marlboro.......and I just setttle back in my reclining seat when I feel the FarmTown "big patch o snow' running down my leg and face.....and dripping down the wall........
But as I say ...I am not dwelling on what could have been....and there was certainly no resentment involved when I stepped on my friends catheter tube or when I forgot to cover him when his pastors wife came to visit getting a full shot of the family jewels......lmao.....
MERRY CHRISTMAS HOOTERS!!
ReplyDeleteJust got back from delivering Meals on Wheels, have to change and then jump in the car to go to my brothers for Xmas Eve.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday- filled with joy, peace and love. Good food and fun stuff too!!
xxoo
Dee Dee! Do I take it that you'll be re-writing the Peter, Paul, and Mary classic and titling it "Coming, on a Jet Plane"???? ROFLMAO!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, Carol, it's Christmas Eve afternoon! I'm sitting in my sister's living room, surfing the net, listening to Christmas music, and watching snow wafting down from the Ontario winter sky! Happy Christmas spirit, Owls!

Mass at 5pm....have to leave early and then off to a friends house for the evening....I think I should prolly wrap some presents~ duh~
TINA: I will be at 4PM mass and will be checking that manger for baby Jesus.
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone enjoys today, tonight and tomorrow. I am BAKING two loaf breads for my kids that they used to love when they were small. Boy will they be surprised and making my vegetable for tomorrow so all my DIL will have to do is heat it up
Why am I doing all this cooking...you ask...because I received a beautiful pink over the head apron from my good friend in Utah (as she knows I cook all the time) and it says, "I'm still a hot babe, it just comes in hot flashes" by Paula Dean.. I didn't know if I was supposed to wear it to bed (either here or Chicago) or really cook. My brother said he was surprised I even knew what it was!!
DEEDEE: I was quite interested in your details today! :) Ok, gotta go as I think an oven is beeping or something like that.

ZONA...sorry about area 51...NOT! I had to sneak in on you! Is there any monkey bread left?
I just got home from a lovely dinner at Joni's house. Remember the cat sitting I do for them? Well, the little old cat (18) had to be put to sleep this morning. It was sad, but we celebrated her tonight. I do have to sit for the other one in January...but she only needs a visit every other day...and no lawn or plants to water this time!!!
Merry Christmas to all!
ReplyDeleteJoey, I miss you 'round here!! I hope you get the chance to stop by more often. :)
Tink, have fun!
ReplyDeleteSandie: Take care and same to you.
Mo: Sorry to hear of the loss of the beloved cat. 18 is a good long life though.
ReplyDeleteMo~ I thought of you tonight! At our little gathering of Catholics....we had a Jewish family with us....so stinkin' funny~ He comes in and teaches at hubby's school.....religion of all things~ Hubby told the man to behave cuz he's the only Jewish person my kids know (as a joke!) and I thought of you and told them about you! (forget about my cousin and her family who is Jewish!) :D
ReplyDeleteI'm stuffed......the food was so yummy....church wasn't fun tho....the Deacon told me I'm fat! Pissed me off....he said that before Mass and I left him with this: "I'll try not to hate you during mass!" I'm over it now.....lol....cuz I told everyone I spoke to about it....it'll get back to him and he'll feel bad....and my work here will be done~ ....ga...evil on xmas....I think I better go to church again tomorrow~
Hello and Merry Christmas to Joey and Sandie~
Hope everyone is having a splendid evening....I'm off to start laundry...so we can pack for CA~
