Food and family, what a great mix. Last Thursday we all went out to dinner for Italian Stallion # 3's birthday. We went to a amazing restaurant called Iberia, its located in Newark NJ, in the Portuguese section. We had a amazing time and the food was made to perfection. Enjoy the pictures, and if you find yourself drooling, I don't blame you at all.
My mother and I shared the Seafood Pailla
Lobster, clams, mussels, shrimps, scallops
over rice, Yummo!

Rodizio, all types of meats served just as you see,
the waiter keeps coming to the table,

oh!!!! And I can't believe I left this out: Janice's daughter had her first daughter on Saturday night~ Janice made it to Idaho in time for the birth....mother, daughter and grandma are doing great~ :D (Janice's daughter was told that she would have a next to impossible chance of having children.....so I gave her name to my mom! YAY!)
ReplyDeleteTINA...why are you first today...it's not one of your blogs!!!
ReplyDeleteJANICE...grats on the new baby. Miracles (and TINA's Mom) do happen!!
CAROL...yummmmmmo! Everything looks so delish! We have one of those steak houses here, but I have never been to it. You guys always have so much fun!!
I'm off today because I have to work on Saturday.
BBL
Congrats on 1st Tina! I couldn't watch your video yesterday.
ReplyDeleteJanice congrats on the grandbaby!
Carol with all that food I'm surprised you were able to move afterwards! Lol!
Morning Maureen!
Well I just got an early Xmas present. My doctor's office called and told me I am now a diabetic. I have to take pills 3x's a day and check my sugar levels. I am not happy! Merry Christmas to me...NOT! This sucks!
ReplyDeleteSHIRLEY...that does indeed suck. Diabetes can be very manageable, but it still sucks. I'm sorry.
ReplyDeleteMorning Glories!
ReplyDeleteI see Tina got first and that her mirror is telling her stories again as I am still the prettiest!
Congrats to Janice and her daughter! How fantastic!
Carol that seafood dish is making me drool all down the front of my polar fleece. Yum does not do it justice!
Shirley I am sorry for your diagnosis but like Mo said it can be manageable. Do what the Doc says!
Hi Mo it sucks you have to work Saturday but I am happy to see you in the nest today!!!
I see you guys were listing things that are breaking down at home in Area 51.
ReplyDeleteAbove stove microwave seems to have went tits up yesterday. Our bathroom fan keeps making noise like a cat might be stuck in it and my cars electrical is glitching. OY! It all has to wait until after Christmas I don't have time for this cranky appliance, vehicle crap!
Good Morning!
ReplyDeleteCAROL: The food and wine look wonderful..and shared with family..what could be better? I've never had Pailla..but it looks so good..I love scallops and shrimp...and clams..and lobster..and..and..and...I think I'd really it! :D
Happy belated Birthday to Italian Stallion #3!
TINA: Congrats on FIRST..and so perceptive this morning! ;)
Congratulations to Grandma Janice and her daughter! Welcome to the world Grandma Janice's granddaughter!
MO: Enjoy your day off!
SHIRLEY: I'm sorry about the diagnosis..I'm sure with medication you'll get it under control quickly.
LYNN: I went into the kitchen to start making icing for the cookies..and all three lights went out! It was so weird..and me on a ladder changing bulbs at 4am..even weirder.. ;)
FROM AREA 51:
J/LIN: The TV was a Polaroid..Mr Z won it in a Christmas raffle two years ago to the day it fritzed out..Gifts with a time limit..who knew? ;)
And J/L...thank you.. :D
Good Morning Owls...CAROL, I am starving now. We have a Rodizo Grill in Denver but haven't been there. I remember an old boyfriend was going to take me there and then I think we quit liking each other. I should have waited until after the dinner...darn it!
ReplyDeleteTINA; I wouldn't say you are exactly pretty but you are decent for the holiday. Is that your Halloween costume?
SHIRLEY; Sorry for you news from the doctor. I take a pill a day as I am borderline and just had my blood done last week and it seems in control. Also the meds they have me on are only $4 without even using the insurance so check on that. I am a Metformin.
Ok, time to get moving. Today is lunch with a friend (Lucky she works so it won't be an all day affair) take GDs shopping for friends, parents and grandparents and try and pick up an item I need and then take them to dinner...pretty full day and then come home and search again for my missing present. You can't even buy this DS game in the stores as sold out so I had ordered it from Amazon.
Have a good day and keep icing those cookies, ZONA!!
Tina Yes, you are pretty. I think it's the cap that really does it. Now if you could pull it down about 7 inches, it would be perfect. ;) Best wishes to Janice and her daughter and new grandchild. What a blessing!
ReplyDeleteMO Enjoy your day off. Do you have anything special planned?
Shirley I'm sorry to hear about the lab results. Please follow the doctor's instructions and advise. Changing a few things about your diet may help a lot, too.
Dianne It sounds like you have recovered from yesterday's loss. You sure do have a full day planned today. Have fun!
LynnD I hope you are resting after all that hard work at the food bank. I admire you so much for all you do for others.
Zona I didn't even know Polaroid made TV's. And....you are very welcome. :)
Carol That dinner sure did look delicious. I've never had mussels but that dish looked very inviting. I've never been to a Portugese restaurant before, but I have been to a Brazilian BBQ restaurant and they keep bringing big skewers of meat around, table to table, too.
It's raining here, today. I will be tidying up around here to get ready for the arrival of my mom and brother tomorrow.
ZONA...get off the ladder...NOW!! I don't think I knew Polaroid made TV's either. I hope Mr.Z can fix it in less then 4 hours!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteJUST LIN...I have big plans for today. I already accomplished one...a nap! Then it will be General Hospital, gross-ry store and laundry. Then tonight the finale of Sing Off. Woo Hoo, huh? LOL! Is all your decorating done? Is the angel's head still smashed into the ceiling?
SHIRLEY...ya know, having been diagnosed and now having treatment can get you healthier and with us longer. Had it not been diagnosed and treatment planned you could have gotten very very sick. It will mean changes, but it will keep you alive. {{HUGS}}
DIANNE...your day sounds busy but so much fun. Enjoy!
Carol, your table looks like it would be delish if I were the sort to go for the meat thing. Regardless, you and your family have a way with food presentation that makes one's mouth water.
ReplyDeleteShirley, I am so sorry to hear of your diabetes. I've seen so many books on managing it, whilst enjoying your favorite restaurants, to boot.
I have been discombobulated since sometime yesterday. I don't remember when, I don't remember it happening. All I know is I've got a third eye (black and purple now) in the center of my forehead. I am told I have "quite" a concussion, but I don't feel any nuttier than normal. Ahh, the joy of my work.
I am going for some night-shooting tests (with cameras, not guns), but not driving.
Tina, even with my 3rd eye, I think I could take you in a beauty pageant. Nobody would be looking at you because they'd be busy looking at me, the freak.
Shirley, hugs! Not a fun diagnosis.
ReplyDeleteCarol: That seafood stew looked wonderful! Cioppine, anyone?
Tina!
ReplyDeleteWow you got 1, Congrats!

ReplyDeleteCarol, what beautiful pictures and write up. You do so much for us.
Zona - Keep wrapping those cookies.
See you all in the morning.
It looks like we are all busy with holiday shopping, preparations or other activities. I've been cleaning house and doing laundry. I think I have done enough Pledging and Windexing around the house now. I am as ready for my guests as I am going to get.
ReplyDeleteCAROL - What a beautiful dinner!! I've never heard of that restaurant but everything looks delish!!!
ReplyDeleteSHIRLEY - My hubby is a Type 1 Diabetic. Has been for over 30 years. Please just listen to your dr. It is definitely something that you can live with!!!
TINA - Congrats to Janice and her daughter!! How exciting. :O)
MO - I hope you enjoyed your day off. I work thru Thursday this week, and for whatever reason I have a 3 day weekend (even tho this would be "my weekend" to work). I won't question why....I'll just enjoy it. I can't remember the last time I had a 3 day weekend!!
LYNN - Has your polar fleece dried out yet?!!? :P
ZONA - Are you done icing those cookies yet? I hope you haven't set anything else on fire!!!
DIANNE - Sounds like you had a full, yet fun day!!
SLIN - Enjoy the time with your Mom and brother!!
BONACHICHI - Hard to believe someone could top EUNICE for attention!!! I'm sure it's a sight to behold. :P
WHABBY - Waving a wing @ you!!
BIRDEE - Can't wait to see what CAROL has cooked up for your avatar!!!
Coffee is brewing....and I left a few boxes of Glazer Donuts on the counter for anyone who wants a late night snack. :O)

HODI...how cool you have the 3 day weekend to look forward to! Enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteJUST LIN...I bet your house is all sparkly and shiny!
WHABBY...safe travels.
Today is my mom's birthday, so I am off to the cemetery before work. Better dry my hair and then get dressed!
