Happy St. Patrick's Day!

As they say "the luck of the irish" and it is so true.
Every 4 leaf clover will bring ya luck,
or if you see a pot of gold you are def lucky,
and who could forget the lucky Leprechaun.
And of course the lucky color green.
But my fav is the corned beef and cabbage, delish!
All these and more, are just symbols of St. Patty's Day.

All ya need is a little luck and a Irish beer and your day will be complete..

Enjoy!

Today is Mr Z's and my 26th anniversary. He has to work, so we won't go out to dinner until the weekend. Although it's 87 degrees here right now, the pool is still very cold..so I'm sure that is out of the question too. Nice suggestion on FB though DIANNE! ;)

LYNND: It's only fitting you be in FIRST today!! :)

CAROL: Omg..saw the footage on the news of the flooding in NJ..it's awful. Please stay safe!

  14. Well, I've been online researching flights to Chicago..still don't know if we can afford it. I'm waiting for the hospital bill to come. I don't know where that sucker is..it should have been here by now. So far we've paid out over $2000 for one third of a pinky finger. I'm getting bills from Dr.s that must have just peeked in the room (should have shut the door)because I don't know who they are! I'll keep crunching the numbers and hopefully I'll be able to add myself as Lucky 13 to the group going to the Windy City!

Ok..I promised something to CAROL, and now that my brain is working at half speed..I need to go work on that.

Happy, lucky hopefully not gassy St. Patrick's Day to everyone!! :D

  17. What has happened to my life??? I got what I've been wanting, which is "normal" IT consulting, and you'd think the whole world is blowing up their computers! This is the first time I've had a minute to myself in days and that's because I've actually got a headache. Not an Advil one... I'm blogging stoned. Something called Norco. I'm not entirely sure I like the feeling. I just want the headaches gone. I'll break my comments up... Just a sec...

  18. About yesterday's blog... My DL was suspended 4 times in 4 years for medical reasons. Somehow, during all the re-getting of my licenses, I'm not me any more. The name on my DL is not the name I use. I have 4 names on my passport, just so I can prove it's legal for me to use any of them. The government says so. The only time I use my DL for ID is when I'm stopped by the police. Even then, I have to break out my passport. No wonder I'm confused all the time. I don't even know who I am.

  19. Me again... I've been away and have a lot of catching up to do. Plus, I'm stoned. I actually fell asleep reading some of the comments from A51.

I got a call from my buddy Jerry, asking me to take over a job for a national health club/day spa. Their computers were running slow and whilst Jerry was "fixing" this, he hosed their entire system. He'd been at it for 8 days before calling me.

I was able to fix the problem in less than an hour, which I'm sure insulted Jerry. The clients aren't too happy either, because they fired him today.

Now Jerry's pissed and is holding their data hostage, which I'm supposed to get back; hence the headache that is causing me to blog whilst stoned. I was given carte blanche to spend any amount of money to get the data, which I was able to do for free.

I didn't ask for this job; Jerry asked me to take it over. Am I wrong to finish it properly and accept the offer to be the new IT consultant? It's what I thought I wanted, but jeeze, I didn't realize all the politics that go on. I just want to fix computers and write software. Did I do anything wrong or unethical?

Obviously, I want to be validated; told that I did nothing wrong. A part of me though, wants to know whether I could have handled the situation differently. Jerry's been using me, asking my "opinion" and "what would I do?" for weeks now and I suspect it's because he didn't know how to handle a situation. I've given him advice, but not been paid. On the other hand, I've not asked either. What do you all think?

  20. Tina, it seems you've been taking a lot of training classes lately. When are they going to realize it just doesn't "take", and let you do it your way?

  21. Top 'O the evening to all the owls!

I hope you all had a happy and SAFE St. Paddy's day!

After work I went to the wake for my co-worker then to my cousin's for corned beef and cabbage! Yumm! I think I enjoyed mashing up a potato and carrot as much as the c.b! And the take home container is going to let the celebrating continue tomorrow and Friday!! Gotta love Elaine!

    LYNN...beautiful!

ZONA...Happy 26th! Wow, you got married when you were 2!! I hope you can work it out and be in Chicago. No pressure, just what you are able to do. I will speak for EVERYONE...we'd LOVE to meet you!! And I will make a public promise here...if you mention snow, I will NOT kick you in the ankles!!!

    SACBARB...Happy birthday to your baby~!

GOLDIE...I was reading about the 16 hr flight on Virgin from LA to NY...was your son on that flight?

  23. Hi Everyone..

I have been lost on youtube for about 2 hrs now.. oh my did not even realize the time, till just now when my eyelids started to close..

I ran across this family of eleven children, they sing covers of artist's either acapella (sp) or with piano or guitar.. my goodness I was drawn in.. I think I just love music..

    Anywho..

Mo.. I had corned beef and cabbage to... yum what treat.. I will be gassed up for days, but heck it was worth it.. thats what gas-x is for.. :O)

Zona... did not check my e-mail tonite but will tomorrow @ work. I hope you can make it.. but it is totally understandable with all the health bills. I would totally miss ya tho.. ♥♥♥ and my offer still stands..

Sacbarb.. LMAO.. seeing your pot of gold everyday.. I see mine to, which I will be selling off shortly, I get bored with things so when they run their course I sell them off..

    Bonacci...
I would have told the company that you would have to discuss it with Jerry first as he was the one who sent you to this job. I then would have discussed it with Jerry to get his opinion. If he told you to not take the job that he wanted it and would do better. I would have called the company and told them you cannot take a colleagues job away from them, as much as you might need it. If eventually Jerry was not preforming to their liking then they should call you.. and you be happy to be their IT person

  24. Bonacci..

    good job!

  26. Present and accounted for here too lol!!
I had a beer, er busy day today. Retiree's lunch, and a little celebrating.

Bonnachi,It is hard to escape any work politics. I thought once I left High school all the silliness was over. Actually it was the same at work only I got paid for putting up with crap lol! Like school, we had lockers for our purses & tools, had cafeterias, bosses instead of teachers and we were stuck there until we were told we could leave. There was hanky panky, gossip, clicks & bullying. Some would come to work with outfits that screamed "ho", just like school lol!
I hope things settle into a soft roar for you. It may take a while, but if you enjoy the work I would try to ignore the rest. Whew I wrote a drunk novel! :)
