Victor's back. He reappeared a few weeks ago. Victor is gorgeous. He has beautiful blue eyes that seem to see right through you. His curly blond hair shines in the sunlight. He likes to dress all in black, often times wearing a turtleneck and black jeans. He looks like he stepped right out of a GQ. But Victor is the embodiment of evil. It seeps from his pours. Even when he smiles, you feel the horrible menacing threat that comes with it. I guess you're probably wondering how I met him? Victor is someone I used to dream about when I was a kid. I can't remember how old I was when he first appeared, I only know he has always terrified me. I'd be dreaming about a birthday party, a room filled with colorful balloons and laughter. Then suddenly, I'd see him, standing off to the side with his arms crossed over his chest..a slight smile on his face. He never said a word to me, just kind of smirked. I would wake up screaming and my mom or dad would come into my room and comfort me. I don't know how I knew his name was Victor, I just did. I haven't had any dreams about him in over 35 years..I thought he was gone for good. Until a couple weeks ago. I went to sleep with a nagging headache and woke up with a migraine. I took some tylenol and went back to bed..and began to dream. I was in an old hotel room. The wallpaper was brown with age and peeling. The pictures hanging on the wall were right out of the International Artists $5 line. A battered leather suitcase lay open on the bed. I walked over to the window to open the curtains and see what kind of view I had. I pulled back the heavy material..and Victor stood there...smiling. My heart jumped into my throat as I fell back against the bed. He bent down, slid the window up and stepped into the room. For a minute we just stared at each other..then he reached out his hand and for the first time ever, he spoke. "Would you like to dance?" I woke up..my heart pounding. Now that I write about it, it seems kinda silly to be so afraid of a dream, but it was so real. Since he's reappeared, I've only had one other dream about him, and that was the next night. Nothing since then. Hopefully he's gone again, but I don't know. I just know that when he does appear..he scares me as much as he did when I was 5 years old.
Have you ever had a dream that just scared the crap out of you? Or are most of your dreams happy..maybe you can fly in your dreams..or maybe you do other things.. ;) What are some of the things you dream about?
BAMM!!
ReplyDeleteMorning Glories!
ReplyDeleteMorning to the BAMalicious DeeDee!
Zona great blog. I have had some doozies in my lifetime. Usually when I feel stressed out.
The worst one was a dream about being choked by a strange man as I lay in my own bed. I kicked myself awake, or so I thought, heart racing. I calmed down and went back to sleep and right back to being choked it was so real! I had to make myself get up and stay awake the rest of the night. I swear that man was really in my room bent over my bed choking me.
That is probably the worst one I have had in years.
I used to have flying dreams and I loved those. I would just raise my arms and start to lift and float over everything. Those were amazing dreams, I look forward to having those again.
I have a busy day today. So I need to get my butt in gear, finish up on the computer. Going to go help get everything sorted for our new Baby Bank this morning. See you all later!
DeeDee, have you given up sleeping? You win prettiest today! Hello, LynnD and happy Taco Tuesday to everyone coming later.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever had a bad dream that kept coming back. I often wake myself up laughing, but I can't usually remember what was so funny.
I'll take waking up laughing over staying asleep terrified any day.
Oh, I remember one... my sister stepped in barf and did the splitz. That one even woke Mr. B up.
ReplyDeleteoh my hell...stepped in barf and did the splits....the visual on that has me quaking with laughter.....omg thats funny....
ReplyDeleteI calm down then picture it again and lose all composure....
ok...thats better......
I have a reoccurring dream and I am on a 747....I am in a first class seat but it is turned to face the back of the plane and I think we must be attempting a take-off in a thunderstorm at night on on major thoroughfare going thru a town and we keep trying but we can't get past the high line wires......and it is scary....
I think it stems from a horrifying episode that I actually had years ago on an airliner because I never had this dream before that experience......
I also haven't flown commercially since......
And the interesting thing about this dream is that I am the only one on the plane other than the crew.....
DeeDee. Congrats on BAMMING first today.
ReplyDeleteZona. Victor sounds very creepy. You're such a good writer, I can see him being a character in a novel. I remember one dream I had where a viscious doberman was jumping over a high fence and coming down on me, fangs bared. I changed my dream at that point and turned it into a nice dobie I used to have. I don't remember most dreams but if it is a bad dream it is more likely for me to have a sad one, not a scary one. I have noticed that being on a painkiller like codeine will make me have very disturbing dreams by about the third day I'm using it.
LynnD and Bonach. Waving at you both.

KATHY - Victor would've scared the bejezus out of me, too!!! I don't often remember my dreams. The one I usually have involves all my teeth falling out. Might have something to do with my teeth grinding habit ;)
ReplyDeleteDEE DEE - Congrats on first!!
LYNN - Never get tired of your "morning glories"!!! ♥
BONACHICHI - Doing the splits on barf?!!? EWWWWWW!!!
SLIN - Can't say that I remember dreaming when I was in my Vicoden fog. It just knocks me out!!
DEE DEE - omg omg omg!!! I think you better check your panties!!!
Well, onto the second half of my day. Jake's parent teacher conference, Tim's student led conference, and Sam's Orchestra Concert. Crap!!! Her concert doesn't start til 7:30....don't these people know that's my bedtime?!!?
Bictor Bictor Bictor~ funny that this blog was posted today....I work with a Victor.....we have been really worried about him....we heard he had to go to the emergency room over the weekend and he hadn't been back to work....he walked in about an hour ago.....and dang it...he's only about 30-ish and they told him that he was having a mini stroke and that there is also something wrong with his liver. The guy doesn't even drink.....and get this....he's Mexican and Catholic! What Mex/Cath do you know that doesn't drink??!!!! oh wait.....I don't~ anyway...we are so glad he's back....shhhhh....he doesn't look well....but the boy wouldn't stay home~
ReplyDeleteDeeDee~ congrats on prettiest~ and doll....did you say something? :)~
LynnD~ I thought you said you were stroked by a strange man...I couldn't figure out what was wrong with that~ ijs~
Bonachichi~ when you wake up laughing....is you hubby on top of you? :)~ ija~
J/L~ sad dreams are the poopiest~
Jodi~ I have the same night you do~ Freshman lacrosse practice, followed by the Varsity game....then since the daughter is the Team Manager....we have to stay for the JV game while the boys go home!!!! ugh~
When I was little, I had this dream about a killer whale ALL THE TIME....I remember a slide and fountains as well, but I have no idea what the point of the dream was. I was scared....and in a lot of my dreams I am running from something.
ReplyDeletelol.....i had this whole other thing written....but omg....you'd all laugh~ so that's it~ :D
Oh Good Lord! DeeDee I think it is time to do some laundry! I also think you are having a recurring dream about flying.
ReplyDeleteI used to have a dream all the time when I was a kid about a door under some stairs and there would be someone in there making a creepy noise and calling out.
Well all the baby clothes are sorted by size and we should have our baby bank up and running by the first part of April!!! Yay!
PS Did Victor kidnap everyone?
I don't usually remember my dreams, and if I do it's just parts of them. I sometimes dream about the grocery store I use to work in. I've dreamed about my grandmother's house and I seem to run a lot in my dreams. I don't remember to where or from where, but it's funny cause I can hardly walk much less run!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe no one has mentioned sex dreams! Although we haven't heard from Dianne or Carol yet. I'll come back in the morning and see what they had to say.
It's 9:00 here in the Atlantic time zone, and I'm tired, my knees ache so I'm going to bed. Good night Owls!! Don't bother behaving, just have a good time.
(((((HUGS))))) to everyone hurting physically and emotionally.
Tina, you were probably dreaming about Sea World. If you wrote something that would make us laugh at your expense, I want to read it.
ReplyDeleteDeeDee, if dreams tell us about the person, I'd say your farts stink so bad, the only people you don't gas out are the ones who have to stay behind cuz it's their job.
Happy Tuesday Owls.
ReplyDeleteMy phone and Internet have been out all day. I called Comcast and they told me the whole neighborhood was out because someone hit a pole or something. Luckily my cell phone carrier is not Comcast. All is well now.
Zona, Your story is riveting. You're such a good writer, you could turn this into a book. I would buy it. I have never had that kind of recurring dream, so I can't say how it would make me feel. Victor sounds interesting, though. I might want to sleep a lot just to see what he has in mind.
Off to read the comments.
DeeDee, congrats on BAMing into first again.
ReplyDeleteWaving a wing to all the Owls. I am off to a sorority meeting so I will try to get back later. Have a good evening everyone.
DeeDee: Way to go on first...great job..nice bam.
ReplyDeleteZona: I guess I have the ability at times to turn an scary or bad person into a good one. But, there is one dream I have that is a nightmare for me. I love my house and sometimes I dream that I live somewhere else and it I miss the comforts of my home. That may sound silly but I moved a lot when I was younger and this is the most settled I have ever been. AND, I found out I LOVE IT. Love love love it.
OH, I had a dream the other day that was scary. I dreamed that I was freecycling some books and taking them to a bookstore and a guy came in and he blew off my face. Well, after I was dead I talked to some other people who were killed by him and also saw that he killed a whole plane full of people by shooting the pilot right before it too off the ground and no one but us dead people knew that he did all that. Scary dream for sure. And, not sure why I dreamed it either.
ReplyDeletehe blew off my face with a gun, not with a hard blowing noise from his lips..haha..forgot to mention the gun part. And, I didn't feel a thing, I thought he hit me in the neck but the other people told me my face was gone..haha.
ReplyDeleteOh, and Zona, my dad's name is Victor.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, Bebbi... And YOU'RE the one who hired a bodyguard for Chi Town?
ReplyDeleteyep..lol..I know.
ReplyDeleteGood evening feathered friends!
ReplyDeleteZONA...scary blog. I could almost sense Victor here. I don't really remember any recurring dreams since college. I think everyone had those...go thru the whole semester and forgot to go to a class. Or forgot to go for the final. Typical...I think...and hope!
I have had some dreams that are so realistic it is frightening. There was one I had of a man I met in the park. He was gorgeous and I swear I could feel his touch and smell his scent. I didn't want to wake up from that one!!
TINA...from yesterday...that was so wrong that they came to your house. My cousin (duh!) has been in a grocery union for nearly 20 years. The store she worked for was sold to another chain, also union, and she was offered a job for 8.25 an hour and NOT even full time. She was full time and making around $17 an hour. She is now unemployed and can't afford COBRA so we pray constantly that she nor her 4 kids get sick.
LYNN...how exciting for the baby bank! You rock!
Sheesh, Bebbi... I love you to pieces, but you dream of face blower-offers and crashing airplanes. I dream about barf and gymnastics, Why am I the STRANGE one?
ReplyDeleteI have dreams of sex sometimes and I wake up super horny. Hubby always likes when that happens..hehe. TMI?
ReplyDeleteBono: Gymnastics isn't too bad..but barf is kind of gross...lol. Hopefully you cannot smell it or see it in technicolor. I hear some people have technicolor dreams. I had those when I was young but don't have them anymore.
ReplyDeleteZumba class was fun tonight but I am WORE OUT. I think I am too old sometimes for all this exercise..haha. 17,174 steps today.
Gee Zona... I don't mean to minimize your terrifying dream. It could have come straight out of a Stephen King novel.
ReplyDeleteWhy, I wonder, do we have these dreams? How can our brains invent something out of nothing? I think your Victor represents a real person... You know how to spell his name. Not Viktor (like an eastern European) but the American Victor.
DeeDee dreams of a plane. We know she flies charter or private. You find seats that face the rear in those, but not in 747 commercial aircraft. I think she's in a private plane in her dream.
In college I had to study the human brain for my artificial intelligence specialty. Sometimes a signal or memory from your brain will cross over the wrong synapse and get meshed with other information. I think dreams are the result of an electronic screw-up in our brains. Sometimes it's fun, funny or glorius. Sometimes it's scary.
That's just my opinion. I'll go back to being a smartass now, but I wanted you to know your blog did make me ponder.
Bebbi, I dream about sex, too. Then I wake up and realize I'm not dreaming. I thought maybe I was mistaken to think it was strange for people to wake up, have a go, then go back to sleep, but I never actually asked anyone.
ReplyDeletebonachichi: That is how I see it too. But, for the life of me I couldn't figure out the guy with the gun, except one thing. I sometimes fall asleep with the television on. I know why I had the part about the free-cycling, because I have been into that lately here.
ReplyDeleteLynnD: That is scary about the choking dream. I would have stayed up too.
Bonachichi: Hubby and I call that "dream fucking"..haha. it's the best..okay..WAY TOO MUCH INFORMATION..sorry.
ReplyDeletePlease someone tell me I don't need to eat at 10:40 at night. I am so weak.
ReplyDeleteI love dreams. I used to buy dream books. I think I might still have some around here somewhere. Has anyone ever looked at those besides me?
ReplyDeleteAnd once again, we make the trek from beautiful literature straight into the gutter. My fault, I know. I live there.
ReplyDeleteBebbi, tell hubby you want a banana.
O M G!!!! WHO is rooming with Bebbi?
ReplyDeleteOh, Tina... YOU'RE romming with Bebbi... And the security task force she's bringing to protect her from the evils of us.
ReplyDeleteit is so a 747 Bonachichi.....and its a weird thing...the seat facing backwards....but you know back in the late 60's when 747's went into service they had several lounge areas where seats faced backwards....ijs....
ReplyDeleteI have another dream...its about these 2 nasty German children trying to shoe me into an oven......no...wait...thats Hansel and Gretel.......
ReplyDeleteIn MY dream I lived in a shoe and had so many kids I didn't know what to do......oh wait...thats a nursery rhyme......
Hell...now I have forgotten my dream....
I've dreamed about DeeDee twice~ wait...would that be called a nightmare? :)~ (her panties looked just like that both times!) ijs~
ReplyDeleteHi Everyone..
ReplyDeleteYuck... I had a long day.. did not get home till 9p.. and now I am exhausted.. I did not read the comments, my mind would not be able to understand the words..
Zona..
I felt as if I was reading a Stephen King novel, your blog is very well written.. I have a dream book, but I can't find it, when I do I will look up recurring dreams and see what why they happen..
I have dreams, and do remember them, most of them are silly, and some are frightening.. I do not however have recurring dreams. I would have to assume there is a meaning to a recurring dream.. again I have to look it up.. I did not read the comments tho, so maybe someone has all ready mentioned it..
Thanks for the blog today..
I am heading to bed, I will catch up on comments tomorrow..
Hope all had a good day..
Hi everyone! Mr. Z came home early today and had to use the computer for a big project for work..he's been working on it all evening. He finally finished and fell into bed about ten minutes ago.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments on my blog today. Maybe by writing about Victor, he'll finally go away forever.
DEEDEE: Congrats on FIRST..sorry about the squirts..lol..
I've sat in one of those backwards seats on Southwest..I hated it.
LYNN: I love the flying dreams..I wish I had those more often. I also dream about being able to make things happen just by snapping my fingers..kinda like Bewitched. It's cool.
BONACHI: Mr Z said I was laughing the other night in my sleep..I can't imagine what I was dreaming about.
I don't know how I even know his name is Victor..I was thinking maybe my mom named him that just so he would have a name..but then she was Russian..so maybe it was Viktor. Interesting observation!
J/LIN: I wish I could learn to change a dream when it became scary. Pepperoni makes me dream the weirdest stuff..lol..but good weird..ya know? ;)
JODI: Please let us know how Sam did tonight..I bet she was awesome! :)
TINA: We won't laugh...go on, tell us.. ;)
I do a lot of running in my dreams too..and I never need an inhaler..which is so unlike real life for me.
SHIRLEY: I've had those kind..and usually it's someone famous..like Hugh Grant.
SACBARB: I don't think I really want to know..lol..
BEBBI: I've been shot in a dream..and felt it. It hurt even after I woke up! Say HI to your dad for me! :D
MO: Years after being out of school, I still dream about forgetting my locker combination and being late for a test because of it. Very strange.
CAROL: If you do find that book I would be very interested in what it said about reoccurring dreams. I have another one where I can hear the footsteps of a giant..just Boom Boom Boom. I've had that one since I was a kid too. My sister asked me the other day if I still had the "Boom Boom" dream..it took me a minute to figure out what she meant. My mind went in another direction altogether.. ;)
ReplyDeleteHave any of you FB farmers had dreams about nonstop harvesting and plowing? Damn those are annoying!
Speaking of which..I better go check on my farms now. I'll be spending my gold..grab what you can! :D
Have a great night!
Oh, DeeDee... I was a late bloomer. I didn't start flying till 1982. By 1984 I was flying first-class most of the time. I only remember those backward seats for the FAs. Take into consideration my observational skills, though.
ReplyDeleteWhen I fly commercial, I always look at all the seats, lined up for the cattle. Even first class is neat little rows. I can't for the life of me bring up a pic of a backward passenger seat. Msybe I'll dream about it.
hi...interesting blog ZONA and as everyone said...you are such a good writer...
ReplyDeleteI have dreams about sex but it isn't ever my husband and I usually don't really know who I am dreaming about..makes it more interesting__so yes SHIRLEY, there are dreams about sex....sigh.
JODI: I also have had many dreams over the years about my teeth falling out and I looked it up and it said it meant you were talking bad about someone..go figure .
It is snowing terrible here. We have over 8" since 6pm and all the schools are closed and many of the roads. I was out on the other side of town when it all started and it was terrible driving home. You couldn't hardly see as the wind is blowing it sideways and it is very wet and slushy. I stopped at the store and it was so bad that they were telling older people (like me) to go and get out car and bring it up to door and they would load it. I guess there are some things good about being old and I thought that was very nice of them. The snow hasn't let up at all.
ZONA - Sam's concert was great!! Most of her concerts are by European composers, but this time they took another route. They played pieces from non-European composers....we traveled to Africa, Japan, China, Brazil, Thailand, Korea....fun!!!
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - Keep your sweet ass home, and you can keep that snow, too ♥
The only other dream that I vividly remember is the night that my brother died. I dreamt that I saw him right before his car crashed and he told me that he loved me ♥ I'm not the only one he visited that night. His best friend had the same dream!!
ReplyDeleteDIANNE: Please be careful driving around in that messy weather! Maybe you'll have a dream of doing something else in the snow.. ;)
ReplyDeleteBONACHI: My curiosity got the best of me, so I googled the backwards airline seats..Southwest was one of the carriers that offered them. I only remember it because I felt like I was going to slide right into the lap of the person sitting across from me. It was awful.
I didn't have as much gold as I thought I did, so only one castle tonight. Next up..Easter baskets!
G'night Everyone..Sweet Dreams!!! :D
And where the crap is GOLDIE?!!?
ReplyDeleteZONA - Good night!!
ReplyDeleteZona: I DO have recurring dreams where I can fly! It's really fun to do, too, but the interesting thing is... it takes work! And, I don't succeed in flying every time I try! I have to get a but of a running start, and have to labor to gain altitude. Sometimes, though, it's almost effortless, and I can just soar almost as high as I want.
ReplyDeleteLove those dreams!
Lynn D, sounds like your flying dreams were effortless! :)
ReplyDeleteJODI: I had a dream about my dad a couple weeks after he passed away. He told me he loved me and that he was ok. I tried to get him to stay, but he said he couldn't. It was sad but comforting too.
ReplyDeleteI truly believe your brother was sending you a special message that night..one that you could hold onto forever. :)
BEAR: Me too!!
G'night for real this time..I think.. :D
