Tell Him
by Shirley
Two female music icons singing together...it doesn't get any better than that!
good morning ladies....and you too Tina.....those panties work ok for ya last night??
My God...my nipples are on fire this morning....for goodness sakes if you are going to light you ciggie on the stove use the front burner...ijs...
You know I used to have my doubts about Celine with all the warbling and arm choreography and was thankful that she and Rene had their mustard money to fall back on....but she has become so amazing with that voice that all that mustard money is just gravy.....
Some major talent has come out of Canada....matter of fact that Anne Murray is actually from Nova Scotia! She was born in 1945 so she and Shirley prolly graduated together....I bet shes great at class reunions huh Shirley!!??
oops! I am going to have to interrupt this posting with late breaking news just handed to me....
Looks like it is Dijon Mustard...not Dion Mustard....so I guess it is a good thing that Celine blossomed because all that mustard money simply wasn't there....
thanks for the video Shirley...I love watching Barbra generously giving of herself so that all these other artists will be able to say they met... worked with and sang with the one and only Streisand..
Although I must say in Ms. Dions case...she is also...in a class by herself....an amazing talent....and like Barbra...by all accounts...a lovely person....
So....how long since the last time you talked to Anne??
Well DeeDee as a matter of fact Anne's mom and my mum were hanging out clothes. Her mom bunched my mum right in the nose.(what color was the?...red of course). The two families haven't spoken since!
SHIRLEY: I'm not a big Celine Dion fan..but I love Streisand. I thought they might really go over the top with this song..but they actually kept it kind of simple..I liked it a lot!
TINA: Helllloooo Gorgeous! Don't worry mom..she'll be ok.. :)
HI MO!! I hope you enjoy your day off! Kick back and relax! :)
LYNND: Celine Dion kinda creeps me out too..she is very talented though..
DEEDEE: My what a pretty dress you have on today! Special plans?
Dion Mustard? LOL! :D
I actually slept like a normal person last night..off and running today! Have a good day all!
Morning Zona! Well it's actually afternoon here in the Atlantic time zone.
Celine doesn't creep me out, because her voice is soooo great but I have to say she isn't the best person to watch singing. Barbra is good though, and I did like Celine in this video.
Zona Rosa.....I am just trying on some winter things that I bought during Fashion Week....isn't that just the most fabulous combo of 50's Dior and fabulousness for the coming winter season!!??
You have a good eye!! [she says knowing she has left herself wide open for a Tina comment]
see...this is exactly why i have implored you to write a blog on Nova Scotia!
How does one engage in face-bunching...we are not familiar with that in the United States as I am sure it is exclusive to your native land!
All I know for sure about Nova Scotia is that David Geffen flew his Lear jet up there to see a total eclipse of the sun after he and Carly Simon broke up!!
Good morning Hooters! Shirley, I think Celine & Barb are the best in their genre. Not really a big Diva fan, but I recognize they're the best. Thanks for the vid. Didn't Celine and her dad, no. Uncle? No. HUSBAND get divorced?
I have arranged for one of those "jazzy" electric wheelchairs to be sent to your house! You know the ones that people with gimp legs and feet use to scurry about....uh-huh...those.
If it has not arrived by late this afternoon you should call 303-233-4611 and tell them "you are ready..."
Shirley, I like this song but I am amongst the non-Celine fans. I like some of her songs, esp. the Titanic theme, but just something about her that I don't care for.
I am more creeped out by her husband, I think.
A friend of mine went to see her preform in Las Vegas and it kinda changed his mind about her (didn't like her at all, and came out of the show thinking she was almost as bad as he had thought lol).
MO I agree with the grandpa comment hee hee :) You said what I was thinking.
Tina, your beauty is, well, getting tedious lol! btw that was NOT my quote! It was Bonachi! I want all the details from your daughter's trip! My Niece & I will be going sometime in Sept.
Mary...nothing is more than 65 miles from the sea and the spanakopita is worth the trip itself....
I love all the history....its like a Jerry Springer episode but on a larger stage with thousands of casualties!!
Troy...yes I said TROY!! is just across the Aegean Sea....
This little piece should get most fired up about that part of the word....
The story of the Trojan War is told in Homer’s “Iliad,” which is not only the first book in western civilization but arguably still the greatest. When I lived in England, I did my best to read it in ancient Greek. My best wasn’t very good, but I took more pleasure in that quixotic struggle than in any other intellectual endeavor of my life. Menelaos got his wife back. By the time we catch up with them in Homer’s “Odyssey,” they are back home in Sparta (in Greece), and they have somehow worked out a kind of edgy marital reconciliation. Whenever “the incident” threatens to flare up (as, one would expect, it occasionally did in the Atreus household!), Helen puts a magic drug into the wine jar, and she and her still-a-little-miffed husband zone out into a kind of pharmaceutical bliss. It’s a heavily medicated marriage.
As one of Shakespeare’s characters says, “anything mended is but patched.” No greater wisdom has ever been spoken.
The learned world assumed that the whole Troy story was just a kind of fairy tale, or a whopping literary exaggeration of some dimly remembered minor skirmish between Greek mainlanders and Turkish Asiatics, until the German amateur archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann (1822-1890) came along. He believed in the literal truth of the “Iliad” and “Odyssey,” and had memorized the great epics as a child. In 1873, using archaeological methods that today would be regarded as barbaric, Schliemann found Troy, just where Homer had said it would be 2,500 years previously. This almost unbelievable discovery shocked the world and proved that the Homeric epics were based on fact, not fiction. The more you give yourself to the cosmos of ancient Greece, the more fascinating it becomes....
Mary...you should include Turkey in your trip as well....one word...baklava!!!
I thank everyone for their comments today. I knew Celine wouldn't be a very popular choice with some of you, but put with Barbra I think it's a dynamic duo! Thanks for posting it Tina! Wait till you see the next video I'm sending you!
My back has been sore the last couple days. I think I might have carried too many groceries up the 3 flights of stairs the other day. Guess I'll go take some drugs and go to bed. Have a good evening everyone! Nighty night!!
I left stuff in the kitchen for hot fudge sundaes if anyone is interested. Just Lin it's your turn to clean up cause Dianne can't.
Dianne I hope you are resting comfortable. Do you have a bell or whistle so Mr.D knows when you need something? ((HUGS))
Carol I hope you didn't spend the WHOLE weekend working. Remember you need time for your porn. You are a crackwhore after all!! (((HUGS)))
Shirley, I messed up my back too. I think from lugging the luggage around. We decided to save a little money and take carry-ons since we would only be gone a few days, that and groceries too! Not up flights of stairs like you, just putting them in my jeep. Hope you get some painless sleep!
DeeDee, wow, that's a lot of info lol! Thanks. I had to google "spanakopita", I knew what "Baklava was. The "span" thing sounds wonderful!! I am considering Turkey. Have you been there?
My days are running into nights, and my nights are running into days, it seems I am all mixed up.. Beside, being overwhelmed at work, my family has been keeping me busy, with family obligations. I had one yesterday and today, however I was able to get of the one today so I could go to work, I have a extensive Italy trip to work on (which is one of Sal's clients) Sal started this booking, back in March, and now I have finish it.. It truly took up most of my day.. but I am glad I got it done.. well almost, the client has to approve it... Lets hope she does so I don't have to make any changes..
My cousin Ar took my parents today, so at least they got to go, they went to family's friends house in Denville to eat.. They had a great time..
We got a retractable awing for our deck, and its wonderful, Friday nite we sat out there for hours, When the Sun went down, we still kept the awning up.. My dad loves it the most.. he just stares at it.. so funny!!! He is in charge of closing it each nite, but ever since we go it, I find myself checking to make sure he closed it.. Ya just never know if he is going to forget, and if he does and we get a rain storm.. The awning could be a awning no more..
Vincent got all his test results back and he is free and clear.. No seizures appeared on the scan, so the meds are working.. and the best news he got his drivers license back.. so he is on the road again and loving it..
Each day for me gets easier, Its over two months that Sal has not been in the office.. I had MaryBeth clean out his desk the other day, so now when I see his desk, its just a desk, which makes it sooooo much easier for me.. His apt is all cleaned out.. The landlord is going to remodel it for his new tenants. I should be ready by July 15.. I called and had his handicapped parking space removed from in front of his apt.. It is so strange not to see his car parked there.. cables shut, phone shut..etc etc
It is so strange how just a few calls can erase one's being..
Wednesday morning at the awful hr of 7a I have to bring my father for a colonoscopy and a scope procedure..He has been complaining about things that he eats, and they bother him.. He has lost some weight which has the dr concerned. I am not concerned as of yet, I will wait till Wednesday to see what happens, and if concern is what I need to be, I will be just that on Wednesday..
I just had chocolate ice cream with chocolate syrup and cool whip.. it was delish.. and then I see your post.. so I had it here in the nest and for real.. FUN!
Sooo very exciting about Little T going off to Europe, what a great opportunity for her.. Good choice in allowing her to go.. she is going to have a amazing time.. and just think of all the memories she will be making.. Ya know the ones where she reminisces about the the "Handsome Greek Gods" :O)
I read your comment about JoAnn.. I guess if a patient is not going to do what they are suppose to do, out they go... Yikes.. they did not waste any time.. Hopefully at home she can get some outside help.. maybe that will be easier for her..
Would have loved to jump in a pool today.. it was darn hot and muggy here in NJ.. however my AC @ worked kept me cool..Next time you jump in, splash me.. :O)
Hope your back feels better soon.. and oh my goodness, I don't remember the last time I sat down with a good porn book, or movie.. Hey maybe that is the problem.. I need to get back to my crackwhore ways!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteOh, and with green bean casserole.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if the turkey AND the greebean casserole will fit it a carry-on...
ReplyDeleteAnd Mary...while ur over there you may as well hit the northern part of Africa and the Holy Land....
Lots more of that whopping literary exaggeration (Jesus) in those areas......
My my DeeDee, you are just a wealth of knowledge today aren't you? Were you a teacher in a past life? Ever met Shirley Maclaine in your past?
ReplyDeleteI thank everyone for their comments today. I knew Celine wouldn't be a very popular choice with some of you, but put with Barbra I think it's a dynamic duo! Thanks for posting it Tina! Wait till you see the next video I'm sending you!
