Bounce This Along

by Maureen

My mail carrier told me that the U.S. Postal service sent out a message to all letter carriers to put a sheet of Bounce in their uniform pockets to keep yellow-jackets away.

Use them all the time when playing baseball and soccer.  I use it when I am working outside.  It really works.  The insects just veer around you.

All this time you've just been putting Bounce in the dryer!

1.    It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them.  It also repels mice.

2.   Spread sheets around foundation areas, or in trailers, or cars that are sitting and it keeps mice from entering your vehicle.

3.     It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that don't get opened too often.

4.

It repels mosquitoes.  Tie a sheet of Bounce through a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season.

5.
Eliminate static electricity from your television (or computer) screen.

6.
Since Bounce is designed to help eliminate static cling, wipe your television screen with a used sheet of Bounce to keep dust from resettling..

7.
Dissolve soap scum from shower doors.  Clean with a sheet of Bounce.

8.
To freshen the air in your home - Place an individual sheet of Bounce in a drawer or hang in the closet.

9.
Put Bounce sheet in vacuum cleaner.

10.
Prevent thread from tangling.  Run a threaded needle through a sheet of Bounce before beginning to sew.

11.
Prevent musty suitcases.  Place an individual sheet of Bounce inside empty luggage before storing.

12.
To freshen the air in your car - Place a sheet of Bounce under the front seat.

13.
Clean baked-on foods from a cooking pan.  Put a sheet in a pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean.  The anti-static agent apparently weakens the bond between the food and the pan..

14.
Eliminate odors in wastebaskets.  Place a sheet of Bounce at the bottom of the wastebasket.

15.
Collect cat hair.  Rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will magnetically attract all the lose hairs.

16.
Eliminate static electricity from Venetian blinds.  Wipe the blinds with a sheet of Bounce to prevent dust from resettling.

17.
Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sand papering.  A used sheet of Bounce will collect sawdust like a tack cloth.

18.
Eliminate odors in dirty laundry.  Place an individual sheet of Bounce at the bottom of a laundry bag or hamper.

19.
Deodorize shoes or sneakers.  Place a sheet of Bounce in your shoes or sneakers overnight.

20.
Golfers put a Bounce sheet in their back pocket to keep the bees away.

21.
Put a Bounce sheet in your sleeping bag and tent before folding and storing them.  It will keep them smelling fresh.

22.
Wet a Bounce sheet, hose down your car, and wipe lovebugs off easily with the wet Bounce.

  2. Morning Glories and Glorious Moaners!

Mo I love this blog I am so going to try some of these! To see if they work!

Actually I am going to print this out so I have it handy and try one at a time.

Waving at all of the owls!

Hmmm I wonder if it will repel frogs? We have so many dang tree frogs this year it is crazy! I had to chase one off of the hood of my truck yesterday he kept hopping into the windshield wiper area. I just could not drive away down the highway with him clinging on for dear life, it just seemed mean. It really would have been Mr. Toads wild ride. imjs

Dianne Mr. Lynn D is in a very bad mood today. He is really pissed that they have not let Hasslebeck go. Sorry but he thinks he is a waste of time and past his prime.

  3. have just been informed that bees are attracted to yellow vehicles. Apparently a few years back, a guy I know purchased a bright yellow convertible and was unable to drive it with the top down due to constantly being surrounded by bees. Do you know if this is a science fact?

Once when I was a passenger in a yellow taxi, a bee flew in and I screamed causing the driver to swerve and hit a wheelie bin.

The internet states that Qantas once had a yellow kangaroo as their logo but when it was painted on the tail fin it attracted nests of bees so the logo was changed to red in the mid fifties. This would seem to support the argument that bees are indeed attracted to yellow. I don't like my mail carrier, so I think I will buy her a nice yellow hat to wear.

  4. I was so busy thinking about bees that I forgot to say hello to Tina & LynnD.

Just_Lin; from A51: You should have dropped by. We could have committed some minor crimes together, or at the very least, annoyed the neighborhood.

  5. Well, I'd been using a pic that was actually me, taken just a couple weeks ago as my profile. I ask DeeDee to clean it up a bit because it's bad quality. What does she give me back? THIS! And she says she did her best! Oink.

  7. Yeah, ya whore! I think this had something to do with my comment about a certain woman's dress that you posted?

  9. MO So that time I had a Bounce sheet stuck up the leg of my jeans, unbeknownst to me, and it started creeping out as I was walking along, you mean I could have claimed I put it there on purpose? LOL

Tina I hope you're having a very good moaning.

LynnD LOL @ Mr. Toad's Wild Ride!

Bonach If I would have had your phone # in my BlackBerry, I would have given you a call. My plane had been delayed, though, and it was dark and my daughter was anxious to get to Santa Inez and get checked into our hotel. I was anxious to get to the slots. LOL I like the pic of you...the real one.

DeeDee Early for a martini but a Bloody Mary would be good.

  10. There's going to be a reunion of a bunch of us "girls" that went to high school together. Against my better judgement, I have been talked into going. Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think I'll have a good time. It's going to be on Oct. 2 and I will spend the weekend with my good friend and we will go to the reunion together. There will be wine tasting and a dinner. The wine tasting is lost on me as I don't care for it. I know...very un-Californian of me. Less than 2 weeks after that, is the cruise I'm going on. I am so not ready. I need to buy a couple more sweaters.

  11. Hello Hooters!!!!!!!!!

Great helpful hints on the bounce Mo.

We have been laying dryer sheets around our camper when we close up for years to repel mice. Never have found any mice evidence! Also keeps it fresh smelling.

Hope everyone is well~~ I spent the weekend in my hometown at Cheese Days. Yes, a festival devoted to cheese-gotta love that!!

  13. MO: I really like some of these ideas! I wonder if Bounce sheets keep every kind of pest away..even the two legged ones..if so I'm going to hang them all over my porch! ;)

About #22..what's a lovebug..and why does Bounce only remove them and not other bugs that splatter on your windshield..like the dreaded grasshopper? Ick!

TINA: I'm beginning to recognize your moaning..and that worries me.. ;)

LYNN: I guess I'm going to have to google tree frogs..I've never seen one. City girl! ;D

BONACHI: I know that if I wear a bright colored top outside..bees do seem to appear. I wonder if they think I'm a great big field of flowers? ;)

J/LIN: I bet you'll have a blast at the reunion!

    GOLDIE: A cheese festival..sounds like heaven! :)

    DIANNE: Kurt Warner..I remembered! :)

I just got off the phone with the bank..grrrrr..there's going to be some ankle kicking pretty soon..I don't know why you almost have to pull teeth to get the truth anymore..sheesh..

  15. I am taking a serious look at all the uses for this device called Bounce.

I would not want to keep mice out of my vehicle as they are often better drivers than I am.

If I have a book or photo album that “smells”, no way am I opening that sucker. Not for any reason.

I prefer to remove static electricity from my television by rubbing my feet vigorously across the carpet, then touching it. I find it invigorating.

Removing soap scum from my shower also removes any evidence that I do indeed shower.

I have accidentally sucked up a dryer sheet whilst vacuuming. The good news is that the previous smell was gone. The bad news is that it was replaced by the smell of whatever caught fire when I did that.

To freshen the air in my home, I just remove whoever is farting.

I have often wondered what a bald cat would look like. Now I can find out.

There is no way I’m going to believe Bounce is any match for 3 day-old dead fish odor. That takes nothing short of a blowtorch.

We (some people I know) once locked a group of men in a limousine. Then we poured about 2000 bees in through the sunroof. After they discovered the joy of bees, we poured marbles outside the doors, then let them out. Maybe they could have used a roll of Bounce?

  16. Good eeevening Owls.

Mo, I will have to try some of these tips. I already use Bounce for the intended purpose, now I have a bunch more to try.

  17. Tina, moaning in first again!

Well, the kids and fur baby are back on their way to San Diego. :sigh: We had a nice visit and Todd was very happy about the outcome of the game.

  18. Maureen aren't you just a wealth of knowledge today!! BTW those bounce sheets don't happen to repell cats do they? I've got a couple here in the apartment building I'd like to repell!

Evening Moaning Tina, Lynn D, Bonachichi, DeeDee, Just Lin, Goldie and Zona!!

  19. Lynn, LOL @ Mr. Toad's wild ride.

    Bonachichi, nice pic

    Dee, nice job

J/L, Two years ago I reconnected with some high school friends and was worried about seeing people I hadn't seen in 40 years. I brought our yearbook and we had a great time reliving some of the events from that year. Also, we gossiped about some of the girls in our class. (It was an all girls Catholic school). Things never change. All in all, it was a fun time.

Zona, I had the same question about #22.

Goldie, The first time I had cheese curds was in Chicago. They were yummy.

  20. Hi Shirley, you might try leaving some Bounce sheets outside your door. Maybe they will repel the cats.

  21. Good evening feathered friends that have not repelled from the blog by a sheet of bounce!!

I really like being able to use something I already have for other purposes. Adds lots of value to it!

LYNN...one night I got into the car and staring at me in the face was a huge spider on the outside of the windshield. You can bet your ass I sped away and let the sucker get airborn!

JUST LIN...the reunion sounds like fun and be sure to pack some bounce sheets so you have to stick in your pants leg!!

  22. I found out today that the mask I use with my CPAP machine is obsolete. I called to order a part for it and they told me. I could still get the part, but not until next week. I'm using tape on the mask right now and it isn't working very well. It would cost $102.00 + shipping + taxes (15%) so I asked about the mask that was replacing this one. $329.00. But it makes more sence to buy new than put money into something that is obsolete. Right? I have an 11:30 appointment Wednesday morning in Dartmouth to get fitted for the mask and buy it. It's over 2 hours away, so I had to hire someone tp take me. This better be a damn good mask. At least I can claim the trip on my income tax!

Tomorrow I spend all day in the office and then I have to go grocery shopping. Nighty night Owls!! Behave!

  23. SHIRLEY...a part costs that much...yikes. Why doesn't your insurance cover it? Well, you need it, so what else can you do. If I lived there I would drive you.

    SACBARB...safe travels to the kids.

  24. CPAP? I thought that was Consecutive Primes in Arithmetic Progression. I never needed a mask for that.

Really Shirley, I did find that it's a sort of sleep apnea disorder. I didn't know. Sorry you have to deal with it.

  25. TINA...you're welcome! And thank you for posting it!

I have to confess something typically dorky of me that I did today. I was on my way to work and I totally drove right past the exit! I was a few miles past and began to wonder why the scenery looked different!! I was almost a half an hour late. Before I left today to come home, one of my co-workers emailed me a mapquest from work to home!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. MO - I printed off the list, too!! Who knew? I have seriously done the same thing. lol @ your co-worker mapquesting your way home ♥

SHIRLEY - Let me know how that works out with the cats....got a couple in the neighborhood that think my backyard is their toilet. Hope your new mask works for you!! I totally would've done the same thing.

BONACHICHI - Your pic has been "DEEDIFIED"....priceless!!

Hoping everyone has a good Tuesday. Time to take the kidlets to school.
