Atlantic City

it has become a tradition
after Thanksgiving we all head
to Atlantic City for an overnight stay
it's usually the Saturday after
so here it is

there will be about 15 of us
meeting up first thing in the morning
and heading down the GSP
towards our destination
it is about a 2hr drive

we have a chill day, and usually just
enjoy each others company
starting with a long walk on the
boardwalk
from there food, drink and gambling
and whatever else floats our boat
family, so fun, good times
many laughs, many hearts
many smiles

  1. CAROL: What a great tradition! My parents went to Atlantic City for their honeymoon and loved it. I can only imagine how much it's changed! Have a wonderful time!

Mr Z was supposed to work this morning..but the car battery is dead. He's outside now removing it so our neighbor can take him to the auto parts store. He's a little upset..to say the least.

Once again..it just goes to show you..it's always something.. :D

  7. Caryn here, even though I'm signing in as Paul. Too still-stuffed and lazy to go back and change it.

Carol, have a GREAT time in Atlantic City! Before we lost my mom and many of our relatives out that way, I used to spend a couple of weeks in Philly and Cape May in the summer. We always hit AC at least once. There was some mom and pop pizza joint there that we used to love.

Zona, sorry about the car battery, glad it was under warranty and the car is fine.

I haven't posted in ages but I do come in and read now and then.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Thanksgiving weekend and not too shopped out!

  12. Good Eeeevening Owls.

My son took me to see Burlesque today and I loved it. Even he said it was OK, which for him is a big complement for a movie that doesn't have car chases or guns blaring. LOL

  13. Carol, What a great tradition. I would love to have something like that to look forward to every year. Have a fabu time and win lots of $$$.

Zona, you are ravishing today in first.

Caryn, Good to see you posting in the nest. Don't be such a stranger.

I'm going to rustle up something for dinner. All I've had today is popcorn.

  14. Zona, I always knew you were a beauty, inside & out! Well, except when you brag about your temps and then you , well... never mind lol!!

I am making a quick fly-by. I am still packing & repacking. We are only taking carry-ons, which is not bad in the summer, but getting bulkier & warmer clothes in there is a trick! I try to keep up on the weather there, but I know from experience that they are not always right!

Carol,I love your tradition! That is right up Mr Mary's ally lol!!

Waving at MO, Smoke-free LynnD, Tina, Paul/Caryn,Shirley &

I just went on the library website and reserved GLEE, the first season. There are 81 people ahead of me that have reserved it! I should get it by March!!

  17. Mo, I think you'll like it. Christina really did a good job acting and singing. This is her first movie, but I think we'll see her in many more movies. Cher and Stanly Tucci were really good too.

Good night and sweet dreams to everyone.

  18. SACBARB...thanks! I love Stanley Tucci.

  19. Hi Everyone..

I am back safe and sound.. I had a great time.. However!! I drank to much.. I let loose so much that the raspberry martini's kept flowing, by #7 I was completely gone!! OMG.. I don't remember the last time I drank that much it has been yrs.. I think I just felt so good to be with the fam, not having to drive, and not having to worry about my parents.. that I just, well, drank and drank and drank.. The martinis were delish.. I woke this morning with no hangover but I am tired and did have to visit the bathroom a couple more time than norm.. but other than that I was fine..

I did not gamble but the fam did and everyone won or broke even.. My SIL was the big winner.. on the penny slots she won #1000.00 and she only spent $40.00 so when she hit she cashed in and was a very happy camper.. we all were, if anyone deserves it she certainly does..

I can't believe my 4day weekend is over, I enjoyed it so very much.. No pressure or stress.. It truly was perfect..

and tomorrow is Monday.. reality begins..

and I have to start my Christmas Shopping at some point this week, I am hoping to do most online..

Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving Weekend!

  20. SacBarb..

I am glad you like the movie.. I am thinking of going as well.

    Mo..

    I like Stanly Tucci to..

    Zona..

Oh has it changed.. its great to be there for a day or two, but def not any longer.. the casinos/boardwalk is ok, but walk a couple of blocks off there and the town is a mess.. they did build a area with shopping outlets, but you feel so bad going there as you walk pass homes falling apart.. so I just stay at hotel, I don't even do the boardwalk at nite..
