Winter Wonderland

by Maureen

I feel that I just have to write a rant. I hafta!

What in heck is wrong with people? I know that is the $64,000 question these days. I'm talking about the morons on the road.

C'mon people...it's a fricking blizzard around us. Use some good old fashioned common sense. And if ya wanna kill yourself, then do it in the privacy of your own home...not on the roadway.

Today we have had major snowfall, gusting winds, blowing snow and almost 0 visibility. Maybe a car length.

And lo and behold the morons are out in all their glory.

TURN ON YOUR LIGHTS. How many living brain cells does it take to do this?  You don't even know they are there until you are on their ass. The law states that if you need your windshield wipers on, you need your lights on. TURN THEM ON!

CLEAN THE SNOW OFF YOUR CAR. I hate it when there is some dipwad driving with a foot of snow on the car and their lights are covered. Then the snow blows off their car onto your car, which you just spent 10 minutes freezing your ass off to clean...lights included. Now my visibility is even less. Talk about the lights being on and nobody home!

JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE BIG TIRES AND A SMALL DICK DOESN'T MEAN YOU OWN THE ROAD. I can't stand the imbeciles that drive private snow plows. You know, the guys that plow your drive and leave mounds of snow in the road. And think that they can go barreling down the icy snow covered roads like it is a sunny day in May. I don't want you behind me...and I bet you don't wanna be behind me as I creep along at 15mph! Serves ya right ya little Napoleon!

IF YOU WANT TO TURN RIGHT ON RED, DON'T WAIT UNTIL I AM IN THE INTERSECTION TO DO IT. Is that half of second so important that you will risk having the traffic come to a slip-sliding halt? So you can only get stuck at the first red light anyhow. And in your haste cause me to lose a year or two off my life.

If they say there is a great chance of black ice, there probably is.
If the law says you need your lights on, you probably do.
And if I call you a son-of-a bitch and flip you the bird, you probably deserved it.

Ahhh, winter. F/U!!

BAH HUMBUG

  1. I know its frustrating!!

I just have this visual in my head of the big wheel trucks flying by and eventually covering up your car...then you are rescued by this Kathy Bates character and at her home she does that fence post on the legs thing...

my point is...it could be worse...

  2. Ahhh..a Good Moaning following a nice early Bam!! Could anything be more perfect? ;)

MO: People don't know how to drive in a storm out here either..a couple of raindrops hit the wind shield and you can bet you'll hear sirens within a few minutes. I don't understand why they aren't more careful..it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize wet roads are slick roads..so slow the heck down! Sheesh...

DEEDEE: I had white Go-Go boots in sixth grade!! ;D

    HI TINA!

MO: Didja get your snow day? I hope so! :)

    BIRDEE: 15 minutes!!! :D

I'm like the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland this morning.."I'm Late I'm Late for a very important date"..so I better get moving!

Have a nice day everyone! :)

  4. Maureen...

I used to share that thing about the guys who drive those big trucks...but then I met this guy who had the biggest truck!

And let me tell you! He reached across the Brazos/Robertson County line!! HUGE figa sonda!!

I see him around town occasionally...can't seem to chase him down....and my car is much faster than his truck...the last time I tried to catch up with him...the more I waved my panties out the window it seemed the faster he went...

  8. DeeDee Congrats on being prettier than the moaner today.

Tina Congrats on being the runner-up. That means you will be expected to fulfill the duties of the Prettiest in the event that she is unable to do so.

  9. MO Thanks for the blog today. I've never lived anywhere where it snows and it just seems like so much trouble. And what is with drivers who think they should just barrel along during bad weather conditions? Do they think that going fast equals being a good driver? Are they just morons? We have those kind of drivers here, too, during rain storms and heavy fog. Actually, it is a phenomenom I've never quite figured out. Why is it that as soon as a few rain drops come down, half the people forget how to drive properly? It's a mystery.

  11. Mo Mo Mo!! I have all the same rants...and more!!
I have an SUV and drive like the little ole woman that I am...slow! I don't feel the need to speed! If I think I am holding up traffic (side roads) I pull into a clear drive and let the fools go!
I hate when people wait until the last minute to make a turn and turn on their blinkers AS THEY ARE TURNING, and not before!!
There, noe I feel better lol!!

LOL DeeDee! @ Waving the panties and him going faster!

What is a figa sonda? I am clueless, as usual.

I won't have internet again until the 20th, they are backed up at my internet provider and they missed their appointment last night, just didn't show up!

  18. It's raining steadily now. In about 1 1/2 hrs I'll be going into San Francsico to a little place that makes excellent Philly cheese steak sandwiches. I only know this because my friends are from New Jersey and they tell me so. I do know that they are delicious. I will see what kind of crazy ass drivers we come across. Not too many I hope. We are taking the Coast Highway so hope to avoid a lot of the traffic.

  22. Good evening feathered friend!

    Thanks for the comments today!

    No day off today :(

This morning I decided to avoid the freeway, as there were many accidents where I was heading. And they said the overpasses and ramps were very icy. So, I head thru city streets. No problem. Until I get to the abandoned dairy farm. Wide open snow covered space...and huge wind makes for 0 visibility. I get past it and am tooling along. Until not one, but 2 SUV's with a foot of snow on them are in front of me. Grrrr. The snow is blowing off their cars right onto my window. ASS WIPES!

I get about 2 miles from work and the freaking road is closed! A water main break. I had to go in a huge square to get to work. I ended up only being 7 minutes late!

Tonight I breezed home! No snow all day...until I got to my street!

    Tomorrow is another day!

  27. Hi Everyone.....My test yesterday turned out with nothing wrong showing. I thought I might mention what is going on with me to all my nesters.

I have been feeling nauseous since around Halloween. It feels like morning sickness, motion sickness, etc. and I get dry heaves along with this sickness. I have been to my primary many times, taken off meds, put on new meds, blah, blah. I had a CAT SCAN of my tummy last week and went to the ER afterwards as I am just so sick and pleaded with them to admit me to find out what is wrong. Well, that didn't work. My primary got me in to get that throat appt yesterday otherwise they couldn't get me in until sometime in January. Needless to say, this has also been extremely depressing...which is another whole separate issue.

I do read the blog each day on my phone and appreciate so many good wishes from everyone, the emails, etc. I hope I will soon be better.

  28. DIANNE...so glad to see you stop in. And so sad you are feeling soo poorly. I pray everyday for you to be better SOON.
