JUDGING OTHERS WITHOUT ALL THE FACTS

by Jodi

One morning a couple was sitting having breakfast.  The wife was looking out the window and noticed her next door neighbor hanging out her laundry. "That laundry is not clean, she doesn't know how to properly do laundry" said the wife to her husband.  The husband didn't say anything he just sat quietly.  Every time her neighbor would hang out her laundry, the wife would make the same comment about her neighbor not knowing how to properly wash clothing.

One morning when the couple was having breakfast again, the wife looked out the window surprised to see how bright and clean her neighbors laundry was.  She turned to her husband and said "Look at that!  She finally learned how to properly wash her clothes.  I wonder how she did it?"  To this, her husband replied, "No dear, I woke up early this morning and washed our windows."

  2. Nice Bam DeeDee, You are so lovely! :)

    Good morning Shirley!

    Good morning DeeDee!

Yes, judging others without all the facts is a sad thing to do. I try my best not to judge people at all, but past influences sometimes come into play. I try very hard to look past that to the individual that is presented in front of me. And, it seems to work. I have been given so much by just going with my intuition and letting go of judgement.

And this one really shows us that it is a lot of times our perceptions that create the illusion anyway! :)

    What a great blog.

    Thanks for sharing it!! xo

    Okay...bbl.

  5. Good Morning Hooters!
    Bam to you too DeeDee!
    Hi Shirley and Bebbi.

Just wanted to drop in and say hi. I know I said I would be back more, but life keeps kicking me in the ass. HOPEFULLY, I am now done with funerals, car repairs and surgeries and can get on with life. The first 2 weeks of January have sucked the big wazoo. Did I mention I fell down a flight of stairs too?? LOL

I have gone back and read all the previous blogs and there sure have been some great ones. Even when I have been gone awhile, when I come back and read them I feel like I was never gone.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend. I get Monday off too for MLK-so looking forward to doing NOTHING much~~~except lunch with HODI tomorrow.

  6. Goldie: Wow, sorry to hear about the stairs and all the other things...your life is so busy!

I hope you were okay after the fall!

Lunch with Hodi sounds really nice too!! :)

  10. Morning Glories!

Tina I have had recurring dreams and dreams that have left me unsettled at times for days. Very weird how they can linger and make us question reality.

My neighbor across the street has a little peepee! How do I know this Jodi? Fact he drives a monster truck with huge tires, fact he constantly has to have heavy equipment running at his house, fact he seems to have an attitude of bigger, better, faster! Enough facts for me, equals teeny tiny peepee.

Heidi sending you (((Hugs))) and hoping things settle down in your world.

Barb I am so sorry to hear about Canton. Sending hugs to your son and daughter in law.

Today is Mr. Lynn D's bday so we are trying to decide if we want to see a movie and go out and eat or if he wants to stay home and veg. He is sporting a lovely black eye and scab across the bridge of his nose right now. As a certain 2 year old left a toy by grandpa's side of the bed and grandpa took a header into a book case.

    Never a dull moment here.

  11. DeeDee Good bamming, to you. You are just as pretty as ever, with or without teeth. Seriously, I am very interested in how things go for you at the dentist. Maybe someday I will do that, too, but right now, having posts drilled into my jaw bone sounds very, very unpleasant and I really want to be done with dealing with dental issues.

  12. LynnD: LOL about your neighbor..omg, too funny!!

Also, sorry to hear about the nasty spill into the bookcase. I hope he didn't break anything! Yikes! :( Tell Mr. LynnD happy birthday and I hope you guys have a great night! :) xo.

  15. LynnD I hope you go out. It will be safer for Mr. D. Sorry about his trip. Toys can be dangerous, that's for sure.

  16. Bebbi Maybe that was me, stopping by to say hello. :)

  17. Goldie Falling down stairs? I take it you are okay, thankfully. Yes, the new year seems to be kicking your butt. I hope things smooth out from now on.

  18. Jodi Thank you for the blog today. Yes, we need to be very careful about making judgements about people. I try to be conscious about that.

  19. Jodi, that was a cute blog and often true.
I live in a "red neck" area and I have a hard time not "judging" people. I try to stay neutral until they prove me right or wrong.
I am not from this area originally so I tend to have trust issues.
I miss the close knit community I came from.
I live out in the country where I trust many of my neighbors.
A new family moved in to the area and the neighbors were all abuzz. No one had even met them, but all kinds of stories were being circulated. One day I saw them out in their yard so I stopped and introduced myself. They were delightful people.

    Whabbear, area 51, egads!! lol!

DeeDee,I know you are a busy "lady", but can you 'splain to me here or on FB what you had done as I am going to have some work done too.

Jodi, have fun with Goldie at lunch. I am surprised you are able to get around with the way the weather has been! Our roads are good one minute, then BAM, they are nasty!!

  21. Goldie, be careful!!! I winced when I read about your fall!!

  22. J/L! That is exactly what I thought!! :) :) It was so good to see you again.. ;)

  23. Judgmental people are usually looking for negativity. If I saw someone hanging up "dirty laundry", I'd think maybe they had some fun and needed to dry the sheets for next time.

The perception we have of others often says more about the sort of people we ourselves are. Put on a smile and think happy thoughts. And who cares about what the busy-body neighbors think anyway? If they had a life, they wouldn't feel the need to judge mine.

  24. I had written an email to Carol and received this back and she mentioned to share with the nest hooters:

    Hi Dianne..

Sorry.. I actually forgot all about it.. My life is not my own anymore.. I am struggling with everything.. I am working 60hr weeks.. and I am totally exhausted.. I still have not figured out what I am going to do with my business and if I can work alone.. These past three snowstorms have set be back quite a bit with work, very challenging time to try and get everyone where they need to go.. airports/flights were a mess.. I have now been working from home most nights.. so I am working here all day, then bringing home work.. My business is also struggling financially which worries me.. I had a very slow fall, so had to use all my savings.. plus losing Sal, I lost his Italian clientele.. which was very profitable.. he spoke Italian, which I don't.. so I cant communicate with them when they call..

I am also sorry I have been inactive on the blog.. it is not done intentionally.. my mind won't let me relax.. its all about what is next on the list do to..

My parents are needing me more and more.. when I do get home, my father hits me with several things that went on with his day that I must tend to..

    I am spent..

Feel free to forward this email to anyone.. as I prob owe everyone a explanation of my absence..

    Again.. my apologies..

    Have a good day!

    Carol

  25. JODI: Very funny and cute blog...thanks for submitting it. I guess we all have to be careful about not judging a "book by it's cover." I really try not to but I am sure I do sometimes.

Nothing much new around here. Still itching and scratching and will go back to dentist for yet another free bridge in a week! yuck

It is so beautiful here today in the mid 50's with the sun shining and all the snow melting like crazy. I love this time of year.

Well, we have a new Bronco coach and he has the worst record this year with teams...even worse than us. He did take the Carolina Panthers to the Super Bowl twice so we shall see. The media is not to excited about him but at least it already doesn't teem arrogant like our last coach.

J/L: You hav e the exciting coach for the new year!!

  26. BARB: I am very sorry about the loss of Canton. Please know I am sending good thoughts to you and your son and DIL.

DEEDEE: Tell us all about your teeth adventure today. I like hearing about someone else going to the dentist!

GOLDIE AND JODI: Have fun at lunch. I had lunch with a friend today too and it was very nice.

    Hello to all the Hooters!!

  27. Thank for the wishes on my fall. Wasn't as bad as it sounds. Slid on the top step and went down the staircase on my left hip. When I got to the bottom all I could think about was that Gavin (3) does this for fun!! Not so fun when you are 51. The good news was that I didn't go head-first down them! The bad news is I still have a bruise the size of Rhode Island on my body~`lol

I KNOW Jodi and I will have tomorrow. We always do. Promise to toast all of you with a nice tall one.

  28. Jodi, What a cute blog but thought provoking too. I try very hard not to judge people but I know I fail miserably sometimes.

    DeeDee, You look lovely today.

Lynn, LOL @ your neighbor and his big toys. Happy Birthday to the Mr. and you might as well go out. Vegging at home with all those people there is probably not all that quiet anyway.

  29. Thanks to everyone for the wishes about Canton. Todd and Vicki are devastated. They tried so hard to get him well, but in the end he was just too weak. Tomorrow they are going to the park that Canton loved and spend some time celebrating his life with some friends. Todd will probably post something on the cantondog Facebook page tomorrow.

  30. J/L, very well, thank you! LOL!

Mary: Who knew what evil lurks in the dreams of men!

Goldie and Mr. Lynn D: Ouch! Funny what can happen in an instant!

Dianne: Should I be excited that Jim Harbaugh is the new coach of the 49ers? I don't feel excited. They niners have gone through so many coaches over the last several years that you can't help feel that the problem isn't with them...it's with the Yorks!

SacBarb: Very sorry to hear about Canton!

Carol: That just sounds horrendus! I so hope there's an end in sight to the escalation in the demands on your time. But it doesn't look like in the short term that's in the cards. Big :(

    ReplyDelete
  31. Barb....I made a post on Cantons FB page....in case they wonder who that old idiot is...

so sad....Canton was a beauty...and those eyes....its losing a family member...and it is hard. I am so sorry for the loss that all of you are suffering through..

  32. JODI: That was a great way to get a good point across! I try hard not to judge others. I'm very aware of 'judge not lest ye be judged'..I know though that there are times I fail..big time.

GOLDIE: We need to talk..I can give you some tips on not falling..uh..sure I can! ;) I'm glad you are ok and I hope RI gets better soon. :)

LYNN: Happy Birthday to Mr D! So.. how did he decide to celebrate? I'm sorry to hear about his fall as well..dang it's catching..not good! I hope he heals fast!

DIANNE: Thanks for the update on CAROL!

CAROL: I sure hope things calm down and that everything works out so you can relax a little.

SACBARB: {{Hugs}} I know tomorrow will be filled with tears..and smiles. It's a wonderful way to celebrate Canton's life.

Waving to DEEDEE, BEBBI, BEAR, J/LIN and MARY!

It was kind of an aggravating day here today..so I'm gonna go to bed early and hope tomorrow is better. So far I'm not liking 2011 very much!

    Good night everyone..Sweet dreams!
