Eva Wonder Girl

by LynnD

It is a wonder how far Eva has come! She is now 3 months old and making so much progress that we are having a hard time keeping up. She is the light around here and everyone who meets her cannot resist her smile. I am sharing with those of you who have sent your prayers, positive thoughts and support. I sometimes think of her as our nest baby. Thank you and bless you all.

  6. Morning Everyone!

Thank you everyone for the Birthday wishes here and on FB and in the mail. They have brightened my day considerably.

I gave you all the first peek at Eva's progress because you were and have always been so supportive. Deedee she is a doll!

Sorry it took over 3 minutes to get her to smile. Usually she smiles like crazy, but that day she decided she wanted to talk. :)

Richard just saw this video and we had to watch it twice. He kept saying my baby girl. That is what he calls her. Also Baby wake which means baby awake. He sat here grinning and trying to kiss the screen.

I hope this makes every one smile as much as I do when I watch it. She truly has kept me going.

    Love you all.

PS it is hard to tell in the video but that girl has cheeks like you would not believe. My daughter had her at the mall yesterday and she said the ladies working there went crazy when they spotted Eva. The all wanted to pat her chubby little cheeks. lol

  10. I have it on the best authority that Lynn D is a Republican. Just a very confused Republican! LOL!

  11. I want to share something that some of you may be unaware of....

Last night I got up about 3am to go tinkle and on my way back to the bed something attacked my foot....I threw on the lights and saw the culprit...it was a rather pissed-off looking scorpion....I'd say it was about 3 inches long. I have seen scorpions occasionally and have always been told that their sting is horribly painful...

I'd like to clear up any misconceptions about that right now....people do tend to exaggerate about this type of thing...

It felt like liquid fire had been injected into my foot and right now ...at 12:09pm CST...it still hurts...

I guess I'm just glad Belle didn't step on it....

I have the thing in a DC cup with a lid on it.....haven't decided what I am going to do with the scorpion....but its going to be painful for the thing...

So if one ever gets you...you can expect to writhe in almost unbearable pain for at least an hour...I also experienced shortness of breath....but that may have been anxiety...

    ReplyDelete
  12. LYNN - Thank you so much for sharing that video!! TINA's right....cutest blog video EVER!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ♥ I hope you enjoy your special day!!

ZONA - You're lucky...MR. JODI usually drives me crazy after just a couple hours.....SERIOUSLY!!

MARY - I think she was saying...."Grandma I love you"!!

GOLDIE - Feeling any better today?

ITEACH - I was cooing, too!!

WHABBY - lol @ confused republican!!

DEE DEE - Glad Belle is ok!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Off to Lacrosse.......it's a beautiful sunny day~ Hope the game is as good as last night~

    ReplyDelete
  14. JODI!!

What about me!!?? I GOT STUNG!!

well fine as long as the little dog didn't get bit....

    I never!!

Hath not I eyes? Hath not I hands, organs,
dimensions, senses, affections, passions; fed with
the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject
to the same diseases, heal'd by the same means,
warm'd and cool'd by the same winter and summer
as you all are? If you prick me, do I not bleed?
If you tickle me, do I not laugh? If you poison me,
do I not die? And if you wrong me, shall I not revenge?
If I am like you in the rest, I will resemble you in that.
If a Jew wrong a Christian, what is his humility?
Revenge. If a Christian wrong a Jew, what should his
sufferance be by Christian example? Why, revenge.
The villainy you teach me, I will execute,
and it shall go hard but I will better the instruction.

tosses hair and leaves room...winks at Jodi..

  15. DEE DEE - I thought you only had one eye!!

  16. Tina Looking pretty again today. Hope your boy has another great game. Gee, aren't they kind of tired out from yesterday?

  17. LynnD HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope you have a super day with plenty of yellow in it. That darling little granddaughter of yours certainly is a ray of sunshine. Thank you so much for sharing her with us this morning. She really is adorable. I'm so happy that she is doing well. She just wanted to worry the pants off of you. Maybe she is a Republican.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Zona Glad to hear that you and Mr.Z had a good week and that you are still speaking to each other. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  19. DeeDee Sorry about your little misstep in during the night. The worst thing I ever stepped on in the middle of the night was some dog diarrhea. Not what you like to feel oozing up between your toes at 3 a.m.. Then you have to hop all the way into the bathroom and over to the tub...

    ReplyDelete
  20. Mary Waving a wing at you. Glad you are finally feeling better. Now you can start planning your next cruise. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  21. Goldie And how are you doing today? Is that sinus infection getting any better? I sure hope so.

    ReplyDelete
  22. iteach Waving a wing at you. I hope you have a nice day off. Are you getting "crafty"?

    ReplyDelete
  23. HOdi LMAO @ only one eye! Well, I assume she has two, the second being a glass one, unless it fell out during the writhing episode, rolled across the floor and Belle ate it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oh my heck....Sarah Palin is in Madison today at a Teabagger's Rally. Best FB status of the day....Palin where's your daughter, I hear she puts out!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I personally wish they'd keep Bristol out of it. I know she's over 18 but going after someone's kids is a low blow, no matter whose kids they are.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Jodi!

Hey...I winked didn't I? ...and it doesn't "fall" out! And Belle wouldn't eat it! Shes scared of the things...especially my "bulging" eye insert...

I don't think yall read my post correctly....I said a SCORPION stung me?!? Thats a major stinging! Name something worse....and no J/L..stepping in poo is not as bad as being attacked by a huge poisonous Arachnid with neurotoxic venom!!

    I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED!

well at least if it happens to any of you I will be more sympathetic because I KNOW how it feels....

    my "little misstep!!" Indeed!

But thank you J/L for at least referencing the stinging pre-dawn attack....

    glares at Jodi...

    ReplyDelete
  27. LYNN: HAPPY BIRTHDAY and thanks for the beautiful video of Eva. She is so cute and I think she was talking to all of us....maybe telling us she wanted to grow up to be a night owl too!!! I wanted to reach out and pick her up.

DEEDEE: Glad you and the dog are both okay. I wouldn't want to live in a place that Scorpions were crawling around....it would creep me out!

J/L: Yuck...poop in your toes...not that is just nasty! Bad enough when it happens in y our pants..:)
    \
Going to see a friend that is in a band this late afternoon and early evening. I am going with my daughter and some of our friends.....the guys passed on this one.

TINA: Congrats on pretty (yawn) once again.

JODI: I told you it might snow there. It is nice here. I think the wind might have even stopped for awhile.

ZONA: Glad you and husband did so well together plus he was able to get some of his "to do" list done. I think that always makes us get along better when we see them busy at work :) I know it does around this house.

    ReplyDelete
  28. MARY: I see you are having a steak dinner at the Lyons tonight. Yum, I wish I could come by and dine with you and I love not only you but steak!

ITEACH: What are you doing this weekend? Any plans or getting some much needed rest? Hope whatever it is you are enjoying the weekend.

BEAR: Are you in Palm Springs or is that next week you are going....I can't remember.

GOLDIE: HI, sinus infection all gone? How is one of my favorite Bronco fans doing? (you know who I mean).

    ReplyDelete
  29. Diannhe OMG! ROFLMAO @ when it happens in your pants!

    Still laughing....

    ReplyDelete
  30. I seem to have put an extra letter in your name. Sorry. I was laughing too hard, I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  31. What's everybody doing? I'm cleaning house, taking advantage of the fact that I have it all to myself.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Lynn, I hope you are having a very good birthday. You deserve to have all your birthday wishes come true. Eva is such a cutie patootie. I think she was telling us a little story, but translation was definitely needed. Thanks for making the vid for us. ♥

    ReplyDelete
  33. Well thanks for asking! My sinus infuc*tion is still hanging on. I have 8 more days of antibiotics to go. I feel so-so, but hell, gotta just keep on keeping.

Went to see the "Conspirator" today at the Sundance theater (BEST popcorn in town). It was really good.

DeeDee, perhaps an exterminator is in order? I mean who wants to live with stinging creatures?? EWWWWW...

    ReplyDelete
  34. Tina, There you are at your pretty station again. Hope the boy's team wins again.

    J/L, ewwwww, poopy toes. :-(

Bear, LOL @ confused republican. I think I can safely say that term will never apply to Lynn even in a confused state.

Dianne, Are you finally at that age where you are pooping in your pants again? hmmmmm?????

Zona, So glad you and the Mr. are still on speaking terms. There are still more "to do's" left.

Waving a wing to all the other Owls. I hope you are all having a great day. BBL

    ReplyDelete
  35. SLIN - No kidlets this weekend? I'm working this weekend!! Yippeeflippin'do!!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. HOdi My son and his girlfriend took the kids to the snow. That's a treat around these parts. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  39. HOdi- the movie was good. Really enjoyed it. Robert Redford directed it. Have been watching the Civil War series stuff on History Channel, so it was great timing too.

  40. What a day! We won...15-8...the boy scored twice and had three assists...played well again....there was an ambulance....and stretcher and backboard....HOT firemen....hope the boy is okay~ Since we had two cars there, I got to follow the daughter while we drove home! I don't know which one of us had the bigger heart attack....the parent in the car, or the one following behind! Both of us had a drink, tho~ And so did my mom, just hearing about it! :)~

    ReplyDelete
  41. TINA - That's exciting!! Although I hope it wasn't your boy in the ambulance!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hi, Dianne! I just arrived in Palm Springs. It's 96 degrees and we're having a few friends over for a BBQ tonight. I love these hot days, because that means we can eat out on the patio tonight! :)

Dee Dee: OMG. I think I'd just about have a heart attack retro-style when I realized it was a scorpion. Horrible creatures!

    Zona: Enjoying the heat today?

Tina: LOL@ the hunky firemen! There's nothing like a man in uniform...

    ReplyDelete

  50. Hi Everyone...

I have been totally in hibernation.. I think I peeked out for a couple of hrs last Saturday when I went to meet up with some grammar school classmates.. it was sooo good to see them.. and I enjoyed being someplace other than work.. I was actually out among the living..

    ReplyDelete
  51. So update on my life..

This week last yr Sal entered the hospital for his surgery, so I have been working alone a whole yr.. it surely (spelled that way for Tina) went fast.. I remember him leaving the office and me telling him that he would be fine, as he always comes thru, well we all know how that ended..

Last Sunday they had a mass for him at his church as his godson dedicated a chalis (sp) and a plaque to him, his name is engraved on both, and both are in the church. It was beautiful service, and it certainly brought back many sad feelings.. I am glad I went, to witness such a special mass for him..

June will be a yr of his passing..

Work as been good, as I have been busy, which is always a good thing. I have decided to do it alone with assistants. I make sure I have someone with me everyday, and the help works out great. I am working many hrs, but have now gotten used to it, and I think all it now falling into place a bit

    ReplyDelete
  52. My parents are well, the traveled to the Caribbean in March and loved it, they looked so great upon their return, their tan was sparkling!

I am so glad they went..

My father is still the daunting person he can be, but certainly does not mean it, its just his age, and I a know I am blessed to have them both with me..

Tomorrow is Palm Sunday, so my mom is making a great Italian meal (Sunday Gravy) for some of my family.. I think we will be about 10.. looking forward to cousins I have not seen in a bit, cause of my work sked. I have been working every Sunday, but not tomorrow.. I will def feel weird not going to work, but I will def enjoy the day off..

    ReplyDelete
  53. ITS#2 has moved into his own apt today with his fiance.. They are very excited.. they are getting married in October.. My parents went yesterday when they got the key, and my mom said the apt is great. She went to help clean and such, but she said it was spotless.. Their brand new furniture was delivered today.. I hopefully can go next week to it.. Oh wait next weekend is Easter weekend, so maybe the weekend after..

    I am happy for them..

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  58. Now for some unsettling news..

My SSO's daughter was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, Stage 2, in the middle of March.. It has certainly been a trying time, as the SSO needs to be with her.. I don't really want to go into to much detail as this is a public blog, and truly not my place to be doing so..

Trying times ahead for all, and very sad..

    ReplyDelete
  59. Carol I'm very sorry to hear that. Hopefully, it is treatable. Trying times, indeed.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Carol Waving back. We sure have missed you.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Ahhhhh....

    Carol You're out of practice.

    ReplyDelete

  65. J/L..

You will fight till the end for your 69! as we know how much you enjoy it.. not that I don't.. but I just coming out of hibernation so I am a little slow..

    ReplyDelete
  66. Kudos on the new computer! I am dealing with the damn hourglass. Hate it! I need a new computer, too.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Actually, coming out of hibernation you think I would be sprinting to 69!

    LOL

    ReplyDelete
  68. J/L..

Yes, treatable, but with a long road ahead..

    ReplyDelete
  69. That's true. You should be really hungry for it, so to speak. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  70. Yes, a long and difficult road. Everyone needs to keep their eyes on the finish line.

    ReplyDelete
  71. J/L..

So very true.. loved your words..

"keep your eyes on the finish line"

I am def sharing that with the SSO

    ReplyDelete
  72. (((HUGS))) to the SSO and his daughter, of course.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  74. Thank you Carol for sharing with us and it was so great to watch you march!

I was going to be crafty this weekend, but when the kids are gone I get into bit of a funk. I can't seem to do much because the house is so darn quiet. Hopefully, I will adjust better as time goes on.

Carol, I'm so sorry about your SSO's family illness.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Ahhh! There has been a disturbance in the force for several months. No Carol, very few marches... today, all has been restored.

Welcome back, my friend, you have been missed!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Evening Glories!

Thank you again for all of the bday wishes. It is wonderful to see Carol here posting!

J/L you always have a kind word for everyone and I have noticed you pick up the slack the rest of us have been leaving lately.

I am hoping to be able to sit down and share my journey of late with all of you but there are some very raw emotions right now that I have been trying to wrap my head around. It seems a 49th birthday is probably a good time to get things into perspective before moving on the second part of my life.

I can also see that all of you see the light coming of this child Eva. I really wish I could see all of you and pass her around so you could share the joy she seems to bring with her every where.

Had a great day today with Angel even had our own Ethel and Lucy moment, Lucy and Ethel in menopause moment. As Angel said it's a real bitch that both of us are going through menopause at the same time. :)

    ReplyDelete
  77. Oh and Jodi thank you for the beautiful Serenade! :)
