(This is supposedly a true account recorded in the Police Log of Sarasota, Florida)
An elderly Florida lady did her shopping and, upon returning to her car, found four males in the act of leaving with her vehicle.
She dropped her shopping bags and drew her handgun, proceeding to scream at the top of her lungs, "I have a gun, and I know how to use it! Get out of my car!"
The four men didn't wait for a second threat. They got out and ran like mad.
The lady, somewhat shaken, then proceeded to load her shopping bags into the back of the car and got into the driver's seat. She was so shaken that she could not get her key into the ignition.
She tried and tried, and then she realized why. It was for the same reason she had wondered why there was a football, a Frisbee and two 12 packs of beer in the front seat.
A few minutes later, she found her own car parked four or five spaces farther down.
She loaded her bags into the car and drove to the police station to report her mistake.
The sergeant to whom she told the story couldn't stop laughing.
He pointed to the other end of the counter, where four pale men were reporting a car jacking by a mad, elderly woman described as white, less than five feet tall, glasses, curly white hair, and carrying a large handgun.
No charges were filed.
Moral of the story? If you're going to have a senior moment....make it memorable!!

Good moring Iteach..
Oops...good morning Lynn! I didn't see your post...have a great day.
ReplyDelete:)
(from Area 51)...wow, how cool Barb!!! so neat... I hope that your eyes are feeling better today.. that is so cool..and to not have to put on eyeliner every day..wow, that would be awesome! I would be nervous to get a tattoo around my eyes too..but that is way cool.
ReplyDeleteSHIRLEY - You are the prettiest!! And yes, having a new car, I have to remember to look for a hot red car in the parking lot!! So I guess I have had a moment or two, but not this extreme ;)
ReplyDeleteGood Morning oh beautiful shirley!!
ReplyDeleteHi iteach, lynn & Bebbi!!
So funny and almost something I did! Many moons ago I was in living in a smaller town. I came out of Walmart, unlocked my car and threw my bags in the backseat.
I didn't remember that flannel shirt, but what the hell. Got in fired up the car and realized that it was an automatic. I drove a stick! I sat there so confused, then it finally hit me. This was NOT my car!!
I jumped out, but was sure that someone was going to report me for trying to steal a car. BUT THE KEYS WORKDED! crazy!!
Found my car on the other side of a large white van parked next to this car. :)
Good morning ITEACH!!
ReplyDeleteLYNN - I don't own a gun, even though we are now allowed to carry a concealed weapon in Wisconsin :/ Don't even get me started on THAT!!! grrrrrrrrr!!!
ReplyDeleteGood morning BEBBI!!
ReplyDeleteHEIDI - Kinda scary that the keys worked!! Can't wait to see you on Sunday ♥
ReplyDeleteGood morning Jodi!!! I hope that things are going smoothly for you. You've been on my mind. I know you are busy with getting things settled.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Goldie: Yes, I agree with Jodi, wild that the car STARTED..yikes! lol
I wonder if it was Tampa Granny!
ReplyDeleteI agree Jodi~ don't get me started on that...grrrrrrr
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see you Sunday too!! Inge binga is looking forward to it too.
WHABBY - lmbo!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks BEBBI! Heading to Dad's today. Time to tackle Mom's "picture drawer"!!
ReplyDeleteJODI: LOL! That was great! We've had our car for 3 years..and I still can't find it in the parking lot..thank goodness you can press the remote and make the horn honk and the lights flash..as long as you point it in the right direction that is..sometimes it takes a few clicks.. ;D
ReplyDeleteSHIRLEY: Was there ever any doubt Gorgeous?
HI ITEACH!! :)
LYNN: I've grabbed Mr Z's arm more than once and said "What are they doing by our car?!!" Only to have him tell me it wasn't ours..so it's probably a good thing I don't have a gun too..that and the fact that I'd probably shoot my own foot.. ;D
GOLDIE: How weird that the keys worked!
BEBBI: Good Mornin' Sunshine! Loved the Cyrano cameo! :)
BEAR: 113 this weekend..but hopefully cooler next..when it really counts!
From 51:
BARB: I really like Maxine..and I'm going to try the celery in the foil thing..don't like having anything limp in my drawers.. ;D
ZONA - Now why doesn't that surprise me?!!? lol @ don't like having anything limp in my drawers.. ;D...damn near spit my cawfee out!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday Owls.
ReplyDeleteShirley, Of course you are!!
Lynn, Good reason for not carrying a gun. Our bail fund is very low.
Goldie, that is too weird.
Zona, LMAO Are you still talking about the celery??
Bebbi, My eyes are a little more swollen today, but I'm told it should only last another day or so. I am so hoping I don't regret this.
I so love this story, Jodi! I have a silver van and trust me there is tons of silver vans in parking lots. I always seem to go up to the wrong one until I realized that van is clean must not be mine. :)
ReplyDelete25 for Tinka
ReplyDeleteGood morning, HOoters! I'm baaaaack!
ReplyDeleteShirley Once again, you are the prettiest! And you don't even wear makeup. I have to put on all my makeup before I feel I am presentable to the public.
SacBarb Speaking of makeup.....OMG! I can't believe you got tatoo eyeliner. That is really brave of you. What influenced you to get that done?
ReplyDeleteJodi That was a very cute story. I hate that moment or two when I first come out of the grocery store and can't remember where I parked. My husband once found one of those Jack-In-the-Box heads that go on the end of a car antenna and he put it on ours. I have been thankful for that little white ball on many occasions as it helped me locate where my car was in the lot.
ReplyDeleteHey, did I miss something? Do you have a new car?
Zona: I popped around the corner heading back to my desk yesterday and there he was. :) He's so cute. I love that bird! When I go out to break I see him singing at different windows. I am sure many people in this building go up to him when he's there and listen. He's a ham! :) he he...
ReplyDeleteBarb: I am sure it will look awesome. Really, what a cool thing to do !
Hello J/L!!
Hey Jodi!!
Hi Whabby!
iteach Congrats on being second this morning. Now, don't forget, if, for some reason, Shirley can't fulfill her duties of being prettiest today, then you need to step in and take over for her.
ReplyDeleteLynnD For some reason, I can picture you doing that....if you carried a gun.
ReplyDeleteBtw, how are you feeling about the "group"?
Bebbi Waving a wing at you. I can't sing at your window, though, as I can't carry a tune in a bucket.
ReplyDeleteZona LMAO @ not liking anything limp in your drawers. Words to live by.
ReplyDeleteGoldie That's a funny story about getting into the wrong car. That is definitely weird and unnerving that the keys worked to start it, though. I wonder if that model got stolen a lot.
ReplyDeleteBear Waving at you. It's a beautiful day in the Bay Area.
ReplyDeleteSLIN - I'm driving Dad's car. It's officially mine (yippeeeeeeee!!!). A hot red Chevy Impala ♥
ReplyDeleteSLIN - I also found pics of me in my baton costume....TOTALLY HOT!!! *for a 3rd grader* ;)
ReplyDeleteJodi: All stylin' & shit...nice! :) I bet you were totally hot in the baton outfit..he he..too funny. I did baton too. i don't have any of the pictures though, they were all lost over the years..
ReplyDeleteBut, in my mind, i was totally hot too..and no one can argue with my mind! :) ha ha...
BEBBI - Believe it or not, my Mom still had the costumes in here cedar chest!!
ReplyDeleteHoly Crap!!! In HER!!! cedar chest!
ReplyDeleteJ/L, Welcome back. Did you really mean "what possessed me?" A church friend of mine told me she wanted to get her eyes done but she wanted someone to go with her for support and the rest is history. I had thought about it over the years cause a couple other friends had it done and I liked it on them.
ReplyDeleteJodi, Hey hot Mama. I bet you look goooood driving around in that car.
ReplyDeleteHey in case Shirley can't fulfill her duties I shaved my legs today!!
ReplyDeleteJodi, I bet you look good in red!
ReplyDeleteJ/L so good to see you back.
ReplyDeleteHello and Hugs to everyone else who has flew in or flew by!
Anyone doing anything interesting this weekend?
BARB - I do....I really do!! Maybe I'll have one of the kids take a pic of me ;)
ReplyDeleteITEACH - Working both Saturday and Sunday. Hitting the beer tent for a wee little bit tomorrow night with a neighber,Sunday is our parade, going to GOLDIE'S to see INGE BINGA before she heads to Germany this week, and then going to Oregon's home marching band show Sunday night. Heading to bed. Just got back from my cousin's Lia Sophia jewelry party. Hopefully the couple of beers I had will help me fall asleep fast!!
ReplyDeleteGood night HOoters ♥
