Yup, this is my back to school blog. I always get very excited about the new school year starting, well, except last year. Due to the fact I had the summer from hell with you know who leaving me and then he goes to court and finalized our divorce on my first day of school. However, the kids and I had a great summer and we are off to a fresh start to a new school year.
Most primary teachers decorate their room in some type of theme. The last two years it has been the Great Outdoors in my room and this year I'm starting off with a space theme. I already have huge blow up planets hanging from my ceiling and I have great plans for the rest of them room. The first day of school is Aug. 23rd just like last year, so that also means the one year anniversary of the divorce. However, I feel very strong compared to last year and I have a feeling this school year is going to be "out of this world."
iteach~ that's a fun theme~ your students are so lucky to have you~ Thanks for sending in the blog~
ReplyDeleteGood Moaning tina~ and Good Morning to all of the Hooters!
ReplyDeleteiteach, great blog and your enthusiasm shines through. Kids are lucky to have you as a teacher! Hope you have a wonderful school year.
Flapping a wing at all of you!
Good morning...
ReplyDeleteThe great outdoors is easy to understand and explain....but how do you explain planets and outer space to small children?
I mean...kids have so many questions...and since you can't teach creationism in public schools....do you just start a mini science class for them?
Just asking....
Good Morning everyone!
ReplyDeleteIn regards to Mr. Michael, I usually stick to the facts in whatever I teach. For example, we discuss the order of the planets and learn how each one is unique. We talk how we have day, night, and seasons due to the Earth and Sun.
However, when it comes to religion, I always tell the kids that everyone has their own beliefs and we need to respect each other to make this classroom a safe place for everyone. Children have come a long way since I was little they are more acceptng of different beliefs . I also think teachers do a better job of making everyone feel comfortable and respecting their views.
Has anyone heard from Tinka?
ReplyDeletethats great iteach....I guess kids understand more than I give them credit for....
ReplyDeleteI guess that as changes occur over the years that teachers have to adjust accordingly....
Things are so much more complicated now as opposed to when I was in the first grade....
These days I think teachers that do it right deserve more credit AND money than they get...
Two years ago I had a student in my room that was biologically a boy, but he swore he was a girl. Everytime he did anything girly at home is stepdad punished him and his mom ignore it was all happening.
ReplyDeleteSo as soon as he came to school everyday he would put on his necklace, bracelets, and play with his girl toys in his desk. I never once said "no" to his jewerly, because he is who is. I can't change him and I don't want to change him. I did have a couple of boys who couldn't wrap their brain around it, but it all worked out.
We all learned to respect each other and I didn't have any parents want to talk to me about it.
Iteach.....
ReplyDeletethere need to be dozens more like you...and you have my respect...
For me...the thought of having a class of 6 year olds is very daunting to me....
and I am sure that in your years of teaching...there have been conflicts....but you're still standing....
so keep up the good work....kids need teachers like you...
Who is your boss...I'll call and ask to have your pay tripled....
Miguelito~ I LOVE ur avatar~ Mrs. Nobama never looked better~
ReplyDeleteGoldie~ so nice to see you~
Iteach~ can we have another election this year? cat vs dog? :)~
oh Tina....thats your cousin...Michelle Bachmann!!
ReplyDeleteyou know...the one married to that flaming faggot....
As you may or may not know this song is the official song of LAX...
ReplyDeleteI have always questioned some of the lyrics....so I decided to post them here with my questions in hopes that some of you may be able to help me understand...
LA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Standing in that silent hall; Waitin' for that final call
Says he doesn't love me anymore
Shakin' hands, I pack a bag; Tremblin' voice, I call a cab
Slowly I start walkin' to the door;
The cab arrives, he blows his horn
I stumble out in the early morn'
Tell him of the place I've got to go
Hit a hundred signal lights; Peterbilts in a traffic fight
Gettin' through these doors has been so slow. ...
CHORUS:
L.A. International Airport
Where the big jet engines roar
L.A. International Airport
I won't see him anymore.
Stewardess in a mini-skirt; Hippie in a leather shirt
Starlet on her way to Naples, Rome
While I'm wonderin' where it's at; I see a Paris diplomat
College kids are tryin' to get back home;
Baggage car goes quickly by; See my case and I start to cry
Stumble to the lounge to be alone
And while I'm tryin' to get some rest; I bite my lips and try my best
To fight the pain that's makin' me leave home.
CHORUS
With silver wings across the sky; Vapor trails that wave goodbye
To those below who've got to stay at home
I wish that I had flown at night; So I could take that Champagne flight
Rid myself of every tear I own;
Soaring high above the heavens; In a seven-forty-seven
Fighting back the tears that curse my eyes
Captain's voice so loud and clear; Amplifies into my ear
Assuring me I'm flying friendly skies.
_____the end_____
ok....starlit on her way to Naples, Rome.
While I'm wonderin' where its at...
(Where whats at?)
I see a Paris Diplomat...
Naples, Rome?
Paris Diplomat? How does she know this mans job? And wouldn't it be a "French Diplomat?"
Its just like in that song "Fancy"....after she is a successful whore she says..."got me a Georgia mansion and an elegant New York townhouse flat..."
Well what the devil is a New York townhouse FLAT!!??
How do you get a townhouse flat?
Dynamite?
and a 747? Not domestically in the U.S.
Afternoon glories!
ReplyDeleteTina lovely as ever at first.
Iteach it sounds like your room will be very fun this year! Yay! I am so happy you feel stronger and more confident and ready to teach. We need more teachers like you!
MeeMee can I use your Avatar for my profile pic on FB? Love it!
ReplyDeleteJust another clown who wants to be the Christian in Chief.
ReplyDeleteMeeMee here is a blog you should check out. Today's is especially interesting. http://theimmoralminority.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteMr. Michael, I was very impressed with how supportive my principal from two years ago was with the boy in my room who wanted to be a girl.
ReplyDeleteHe totally let the mom have it for letting stepdad be too rough and not getting her son into some type of therapy that will help him deal with all these emotions.
That Principal moved to another building and I so miss him.
Jennifer: Good for you for emphasizing the solar system this year! And don't forget to tell them that we now have discovered over a thousand planets around other stars, so stars with planets are thought to be the norm.
ReplyDeleteHow many of those planets are like Earth, and how many are the right distance from their star to support liquid water on their surface (which may be the prime prerequisite for life) is still unknown, but we should have an answer within two years!!!
Oh, and I'm back from Lazy Bear, which is why I was AWOL from the Nest!
ReplyDeleteThat is just neat news about all those other planets!
ReplyDeleteIt is good to have you back Bear.
Tina You are absolutely stunning today! You look just as good now as you did this morning. I don't know how you do it.
ReplyDeleteiteach That's a wonderful theme for your classroom. I, too, am so happy to hear how much stronger and happier you are this year compared to last year. You rock!
Goldie I'm flapping my wing back attcha. I'm afraid I have more flap than I should. :(
ReplyDeleteMichael It looks like someone got into Mommy's makeup again. LOL
ReplyDeleteAlso, I think you over-think song lyrics.
LynnD Christian in Chief.......LMAO!
ReplyDeleteBear So, were you good and lazy during the weekend? Or at least lazy?
ReplyDeleteJ/L...
ReplyDeletedon't know either huh?
J/L: I was both. Just had sex once... with hubby! However, we did quite a bit of "extra-marital lusting" at Highland Resort's clothing optional pool! ;)
