Money Grabber
by Just Lin
In light of recent ecomonic turmoil, I thought this music video was appropriate. For some reason, I think of Congress every time I hear it. LOL
AUSSERVILLGRATEN, Austria (AP) -- No buts about it - this billy goat was a pain in the butt.
Austrian state broadcaster ORF reports that a German tourist couple had their hands full for three hours with a goat that wouldn't quit attacking them.
To stop the butting, Steffen Prill was forced to grab the beast by the horns - and hold on.
Prill says he literally dragged it down the mountain slope they were hiking on toward the Tyrollean village of Ausservillgraten, near the Italian border. He and Anja Buder, his wife, said Thursday that every time Prill let go, the horned assaults continued.
Police called to the scene finally soothed the animal. There were no serious injuries - but ORF, citing police, says the goat's owner will have to pay for Buder's ripped trousers.
Happy Birthday to my darling cyber daughter Kathy. I hope all your wishes come true today. I sent you a Jacquie Lawson e-mail card but I didn't get the notification that you got it. I guess I won't depend on them again. Jack just said to tell you one of the bears dropped by in the night to wish you a Happy Birthday but I think he just may have been dreaming. Have a wonderful day. I will be back after breakfast.
Kathy - I just posted and "ping" an e-mail came in from you telling me you got my card. I didn't get the notification that it was sent. I assumed it wasn't and you know "assume" really means. I am happy you liked it. Now for breakfast.
comes in with 48x48 sheet cake on cardboard holding with one hand in center like a waiter carrying a huge tray...cardboard starts to bend and cakes runs completely off cardboard except for the piece his hand is under.... runs to kitchen and gets dessert plates and spatula and scoops cake back up on plates from floor....pulls rug over mess on floor...
1 cup white sugar 1/2 cup butter 2 eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 cup milk Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x9 inch pan or line a muffin pan with paper liners. In a medium bowl, cream together the sugar and butter. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine flour and baking powder, add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Finally stir in the milk until batter is smooth. Pour or spoon batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven. For cupcakes, bake 20 to 25 minutes. Cake is done when it springs back to the touch.
ok I am going to double the recipe so the oven should be 700 degrees...or broil?
would you look at that ! NO SALT in this recipe...I'll just add a cup...2 cups of sugar...one cup of butter....bag of flour aaahhchoo!! Well shit!
vanilla extract...bottles almost empty...I'll just put the whole thing...one..three..and four cups of baking powder and a teaspoon of milk!! Viola!
Now stir it all up in a bowl...ga!! this is hard to stir!! Well I just glop it into this pan...it'll mix up while its cooking....
just pop it in the oven...oh wait...it needs icing....I seem to be out of icing...oh I have this hersheys chocolate syrup....we'll just put a think layer of this for icing....and back in the oven for one hour and 20 minutes!!
I think I'll take a quick siesta while its getting "bounce back to the touch" ready...
whats that big burning mess in the street? Get away from that kids!! Shit!!
Ok Firemen....I am going to go powder my nose...and when I come back this kitchen had better be put back the way it was and the cake that was in the oven still has an hour and twenty minutes to go!!
alrightie then....kitchens decent...now what about my cake?
you say a fire was reported and you opened the oven and my cake blew out into the street?
a likely story....
well I guess I will have to run to Walmart and get some of those rainbow cupcakes....and maybe they have some of those little cakes that look like tiny doggies....
I have done my best to make sure that Kathy has a decent cake! One fell on the floor and the other burned! I tried to bake a cake but I DON'T KNOW HOW!!
starts sobbing hysterically and turns to run up the stairs and falls on rainbow cupcakes...starts tearing at shirt and get crazy look in eye....crying and slinging snot runs upstairs....
Thank you so much everyone for the nice Birthday wishes..they made a good day even better! :)
J/LIN: I haven't heard this song before..I really liked it..and thought it was perfect for all politicians!! :D
SHIRLEY: Beautiful Splat today! :)

48x48?? No wonder you lost control of that cake..yikes! Thank you for trying to make me another one..I think you left out the eggs though..that may have been the problem..oh..and a 700 degree oven set on broil..LMAO!!! :D
TINKA: Please ask Jack if the Bear had a birthday hat and a glass of wine..if so..I know who that might have been.. ;D
ITEACH: LOL @ High Fives!
BARB: Best laid plans perhaps..but all in all..I really did have a nice day! :)
Have a good evening everyone..and thank you again!
We are home from the farm. I hate to leave there and then when we pull into out driveway we are so happy to be home.
Jack goes to Vancouver tomorrow, my son-in-law is working at his other job and my grandson is teaching science camp at the University. That means my son will be alone at the farm tomorrow. I will be a little worried as we had two cougars spotted at our lower lake yesterday and two seen on the Sooke Road. It's the first time that has happened in years. I told Kevin to keep the bear spray strapped to his belt and the shot gun handy just in case. One shot in the air usually scares any wild life. I hope he listens to me.
That's the drawback of living in their territory. It's so peaceful unless you come between a "mommy" and its babies. I do love it there however.
Michael - You must be exhausted from all that baking and recording every step you took. That was very kind of you. Zona deserves a really nice birthday and I know you helped to make it that way.
A little tip - Doubling the recipe does not include doubling the temperature of the oven. Perhaps you discovered that by yourself and don't need to be told again by a "mother hen".
Zona - I suspected that it might be "Our Bear". Since Jack doesn't know Whabbear I imagine he thought it was just the usual bear with a hat and a drink in its hand. We see that lot.
Well I am unpacked, the clothes are washed, Tango and Tia (who is much better today) are fed so I guess it's time for dinner and then some fun on MY farms.
See you all tomorrow.
Zona, stay sober. I don't want to have to send Dianne and Whabbear out looking for you. Love you. Tink
I must be tired. I quickly re-read my posts and I see at least 4 mistakes. I must take the time to proof read. My English mark on my report card will be dropping if I am not more careful.
What a mess. What the heck has been going on in here? MICHAEL--------where r u? SHIRLEY-----where r u too? U kids made a mess. I just came by for a cupcake for Kathys birthday. Cough cough. I saw some cute firemen leaving. Oh well
Happy Birthday Kathy. I hope u had a good day and will have a great year ahead.

I forgot to say "Hello" to Shirley, Tina, Michael, Iteach, Just_Lin and Sac-Barb. I hope you all had a safe and happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteJust_Lin - I played the video twice. I liked it better the second time. I think it is a song that "grows on you".
ReplyDeleteMichael - You must be exhausted from all that baking and recording every step you took. That was very kind of you. Zona deserves a really nice birthday and I know you helped to make it that way.

Iteach - Just exactly is a "rain room"? That is new to me.
ReplyDeleteTina - Michael sure keeps you rolling on the floor a lot. That is good exercise for the hips. Is it working?
ReplyDeleteShirley - Once a drama queen always a drama queen. I read that somewhere.
