There's a line in the movie where Marisa Tomei's character, Ida, tells Ryan Gosling's character, Steve, that he has been drinking the kool-aid. She is amazed that Steve really believes in Governor Morris and tells him to just wait......wait til he is disappointed. This movie is both exciting (Clooney) and sad. It's about morality, the choices people make, and it asks, "at what price do you sell your soul?" Go see it~
First?
ReplyDeleteThat movie looks really good. I probably won't see it until it's out on DVD, though.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Just_Lin - Congrats on being first.
ReplyDeleteI will probably wait for the DVD too.
Thanks for the blog Tina.
Off to water therapy.
Have a great day everyone.
Why am I not able to sign in?
ReplyDeleteNOW it lets me.
ReplyDeleteTinka Have a good session at water therapy. Remember to go at your own pace. Hurting yourself is counterproductive.
Did all the owls go with you to water therapy?
ReplyDeleteyeah...I wouldn't pay to see that....not like its Tom Cruise or something...ijs...
ReplyDeleteTom Cruise is taller than the "cloon" and a better dancer. I bet there weren't even any dance scenes in the movie now were there?
Did yall see where George has a new girlfriend? She is taller than him too..
And you know when you go to the movies and sit in those seats? you don't know who sat in the seat before you. I think they should offer disposable seat covers...and while we are on the subject....shoe covers for your footwear too...and gloves to remove all of it when its over...
A friend of mine went to the Cinemark and got the RINGWORM!
But Michael, if you were to go to a movie theater (don't know why you would with your own private screening room at home)wouldn't you take your movie seat cleaning person with you to sanitize the seat before you sat in it?
ReplyDeleteSplat!!
ReplyDeleteAfternoon pretty 1st Just Lin, Tinka and Michael!
Tina not a big fan of George-of-the- jungle-Clooney, so if I see this film it will be when it comes out on DVD.
I usually just take a "throw" that I can just leave there...a can of lysol... and wear baggies on my sapatas..
ReplyDeleteI can't get newly released films to "screen" at home...although that would be ideal...
And one doesn't want to cause too much fuss in public...once...long ago...when I went to see Gremblins...some kid threw a huge wad of that smelly grape gum and it landed in my luxury hair. Fortunately my devil sister was able to get it out but I spent the duration of the film wearing a large popcorn bucket on my head...
I was home for my 10 year reunion...I had bought clothes that matched my car...you know...everything had to be perfect...my former classmates would have been disappointed otherwise....the gum in my hair was a near tragedy...
I have actual happenings and trauma that excuses all my eccentricities...
What is that thing that regular people do to get the wrinkles out of your clothes? I have a story about the reason I will never do it I just can't remember what its called right this minute...
well this blog is getting to be about as much fun as a chancre sore...
ReplyDeleteor being bitten by a tsetse fly...
either of which...when ignored..can cause painful death....
I looked at the blog from this time last year...and it was "smokin'!!"
SLIN - You are lovely at first!!
ReplyDeleteTINKA - How was water therapy today?
MICHAEL - Seriously?!!? THE RINGWORM? ewwwwwwwww!!! I love going to the movies!! Large Diet Pepsi, large popcorn with extra butter, and plenty of napkins!! I guess I should add a throw and a bottle of Lysol to the list ;)
TINA - This movie is on my list to see. I don't work this weekend, so maybe I'll go then.
ReplyDeleteSorry I've been missing in action. My trip was amazing. It was my original intention to just go and have a kick ass girl's week. It was sooooo much more than that. It was great to spend time with ZONA in Phoenix. After talking for almost 4 years, I finally got the pleasure of laughing with her in person!!
ReplyDeleteI had more moments that I can count that those islands "spoke" to me. It was truly a spiritual experience. I will forever have a piece of Oahu and Kauai in my heart ♥
ReplyDeleteIt's been hard getting back into the "swing" of things. I worked both Saturday and Sunday. I felt like I was "coming down" with something. Scratchy throat and sneezing my fool head off. I had yesterday off, so I took full advantage of an empty house and slept most of the day!! I woke up feeling much better today!
ReplyDeleteHOdi I'm glad you're feeling better. Geez, Girl! You barely let yourself get any rest while in Hawaii, you Ho's were just "go,go,go". Your bod probably needed to lay down and catch up.
ReplyDeleteSLIN - Most nights we got MAYBE 4 hours of sleep!! The only night I got more was my night in Kauai. We got back to my friend's house and I layed down at 7pm to take a nap so we could go out, and damn if I didn't sleep til about 6am. I guess I needed it!! The only thing that woke me up was the roosters and then the neighbors cat sounded like it was tangling with something!! So our joke that day was that I was woke to cocks and one angry pussy ;)p
ReplyDeleteBetter get to bed. Getting colder here. Can't wait to hunker down with my comforter.
ReplyDeleteGood night HOoters!!
20!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteJODI: So glad you had such a great time on your trip and it was even more than you hoped for each day. It is hard to come back after a fun time though.
J/L: Contgrats on first today. What were you doing up so early? I woke early too but finally went back to sleep as I had no plans for the day.

ReplyDeleteDi~ Come over to my house and talk to my MIL and FIL!!!!!!!!!~
ReplyDeleteHi Guys!
ReplyDeleteTINA: Hmmm..political thriller..George Clooney..one I like..one not so much. I don't know whether I'll go see this in a theater..probably not..eventho the prospect of a really big George Clooney IS tempting. I'll most likely wait until it's on cable.
J/LIN: Yes you were FIRST!! And gorgeous too! :)
TINKA: Thinking 'bout you tonight♥
MICHAEL: Tom Cruise taller than George Clooney?? No way..gimme a yardstick..I'll measure 'em.. ;D
JODI: It sounds like you found Heaven on Earth in Hawaii..and I am so glad you had such a good time. Loved laughing..and crying..and wheezing in person with you too! :D

ReplyDeleteDianne I wasn't up early at all. All the other Owls must have partied too hard last night or something.
ReplyDeleteZona That was so fun to see Mr.Z. He's a talented guy. I forgot to look for the finger and didn't notice it.
ReplyDeleteHOdi Thanks for posting that news segment about Mr.Z's pumpkin carving skills. That was fun.
