  1. it is unusual...

He was quite the dog's bollocks in his day....I was sad when he died...

It wasn't related...I just happened to already be sad about something else the day he died...

I found the recent headline for my avatar today..

  2. How would you pronounce this child's name?

    "Le-a"

    Leah?? NO
    Lee - A?? NOPE
    Lay - a?? NO
    Lei?? Guess Again.

This child attends a school in Kansas City, Mo.
Her mother is irate because everyone is getting her name wrong.

    It's pronounced "Ledasha".

When the Mother was asked about the pronunciation of the name, she said, "the dash don't be silent."

SO, if you see something come across your desk like this please remember to pronounce the dash.
If dey axe you why, tell dem de dash don't be silent.

  6. Good Morning Tina, Michael and Shirley.

Tina - Thanks for the song. I love Tom Jones. My sister and I saw him perform when he was in Victoria. It was an excellent performance.

Michael - You scared me when I read "I was so sad when he died". I quickly googled it before I read the rest of your post and saw you were joking.
Where ever did you find that avatar? I read your doll house story again and enjoyed it very much. You have such an imagination. It amazes me.

Shirley dear, please don't say Tom Jones must be 150. He is two years younger than I am. Does that make me 152?

Just_Lin - From area 51, Yes Tomorrow is officially Thanksgiving Day here in Canada. We are going out for Thanksgiving dinner today and staying quietly at home tomorrow.

Have a great day everyone. See you tomorrow.

  7. I think he was 71...you know...when he passed...

I do love the performances from his heyday....

and I must admit I am jealous of his hair. When I go bald (ain't gonna happen) I am going to do what he had done. Grow the sides out long...dye them jet black...perm the shit out of them and flap them over for a dual combover "FRO" like thing.

And complete the look by putting a sweet potato in my pants...

  12. Tinka...

I also built a couple of whore houses...and my friends could choose their ladies from a Fredericks of Hollywood catalog that I had snagged from a neighbor woman who used to mow her yard in a negligee...she had 3 teeth and I think one of them may have been a part of a pork chop bone that got stuck in her gums...

Anyway...the boys all had to pay a nickel to choose a "lady" and go in...and once they were all in I would damn them all to hell and burn the place down....

One little boy went home and told his Mother that he had paid me a nickel to choose a lady and go in my whorehouse and then I damned him to hell and set the joint on fire...

His Mother told my parents and after explaining the business to them I had to refund his nickel...

My parents had this look on their faces like "OH MY GOD"....they made an unnecessarily big deal out of the whole thing... I thought they were going to make me build a church or something...but they knew I would just burn it down...

All I wanted was my nickel back...but you know that little boy...his name was John Ridgeway and as he grew his jaw grew faster and he eventually had this unbelievable under-bite.....

So it just goes to show ya...what goes around comes around...

  15. Happy Sunday Owls. I went to Santa Maria early on Friday for my FIL's birthday and family reunion and just got back this evening. Sorry I missed my own blog on Saturday, but thank for the comments. Maxine really makes me laugh.

I had a really nice weekend despite the fact that my leg is in one of those stabilizing boots AGAIN! But my baby boy drove up from San Diego and I rode down with my oldest boy and my grandson, so I got a lot of time in with most of my boys.

I hope you all had a good weekend too.

  17. Michael You made me burst out laughing today, TWICE! First with the sweet potato remark. LMAO! Then with the remark that that neighbor ladie's third tooth might have been a pork chop bone stuck in her gum!!!!! LMFAO!!!!! How do you come up with this stuff?

By the way, glad we weren't kids together. You probably would have burned up my makeshift switchboard. LOL
