It's been a month, and we still miss it. I will see other mothers at school and it's the first thing we say to each other. The kids miss it, too. So many people have come up to me and the hubby to tell us how funny our daughter was in the musical. "She was fantastic!" "She was hilarious!" "She stole the show!" "Did you know she had it in her?" Of course I did! Everyone thinks she gets it from me, but her dad had the lead in all the musicals in high school. She's a natural. I'm very proud of her. This Thursday is her try-outs for the spring play. I don't know the name of it, but she's not too excited about it. She'll try out anyway~
Here's some pictures from Bye Bye Birdie~
On the right. |
Mae Peterson and her son Albert. |
Love this picture...I can just hear her New York accent. |
Propositioning Conrad Birdie. |
I love her eyes in this one. |
She had three scenes that REALLY cracked me up. This is one of them. |
She finds out Albert and Rose are getting married. |
Not to be outdone, check out that spotlight action. That would be my boy!~ |

Good Moaning~
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteTINA: The pics are PRICELESS!! Your girl had the best part in the show..and I just know she was awesome! I can hear her accent too..I wish I would have been able to see this! Thanks for sharing the pics..and congrats to your daughter again on what I know was an amazing performance! :)
ReplyDeletebtw..you say acting ability came from dad..natural creativity came from mom..no question.. :)
DI: HI! :D
ReplyDeleteTINA: Love the spotlight work by your boy too!! :)
ReplyDeleteTINA: Love the pictures. Thanks for posting them. It would have been fun to see the show. I'll bet she gets a part for the next one too. The lighting was good too. All that talent in one family!!!
ReplyDeleteHi ZONA: Are you feeling a little better today? Have you lost that "man voice" or was that your sexy voice?
Up early but not much going on around here at this time of morning. I just don't know why I keep going to bed later and getting up earlier. I don't like that routine....bad to wake up before alarm!!!
Hope everyone has a nice day. Are you still snowed in MICHAEL? :)
morning ladies....tina..
ReplyDeleteHI DIANNE..STILL SNOWED IN HERE. WE HAVE PLENTY OF FIRE WOOD AND FOOD BUT WE ARE RUNNING LOW ON TOILET PAPER AND PAM.
WELL THE SLC...well the SLC adaptation of Bye Bye Birdie looked like fun. Can't believe it wasn't preserved on video.
Yall should have like a faux Tony Awards presentation after this next play and include BBB...and yes...you don't even have to ask...I would be happy to host it..
Tina Good moaning and thanks for the blog today. How fun! Love the pics and I, too, wish I could have been there to see it in person. I know you are very proud of your kids. We may be witnessing the beginning of some great careers in the theater or movie business. You never know.
ReplyDeleteDianne Did you ever go out yesterday and brave the low temps? You said you were having cabin fever.
ReplyDeleteDo you think you are going to bed late and waking up so early because of anxiety over your daughter? That would certainly be understandable. Sending (((HUGS))) your way.
Zona Have you been sick or just doing a Lauren Bacall impression? I haven't been feeling at the top of my game since yesterday. It may have been something I ate at the Christmas party. Oh, well. It will pass. no pun intended.
ReplyDeleteMichael It's so considerate of you to raise your voice for poor Dianne. Will you be doing that for me,too, after I have my next birthday?
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid, on the rare occasion that we ran out of toilet paper, Mom would have us use old dress patterns. For those of you who may not know, patterns are made from the same kind of paper as toilet seat covers. Not the softest but it does the job in a pinch. Now, we didn't have Pam to use, like Michael does. That must make the job of "wiping" much easier.
J/L...
ReplyDeleteomg....you took what I said and sat it right beside what I said...and I don't have a comeback! R U trying to short circuit my brain? lol
and of course if you need me to speak more clearly and audibly I will do my best to accommodate you! Heavens to Betsy!
MICHAEL: It is so thoughtful for you to speak up for me. There are a couple of other owls that may be getting their feelings hurt that you don't SPEAK LOUDLY to them too. You know I am not the oldest owl around these branches???
ReplyDeleteJ/L: HMMMM dress patterns, huh? I have been in a bathroom before where there isn't any tp (just then discovered it) but there was toilet seat covers so I get your drift :)
I hope you will be feeling better soon and that this too "will pass" (pun intended). Interesting that you made MICHAEL speechless with no comeback...high five!
Michael I'm just doing my part to keep your brain active. You know how it is....you get to a certain age and things start slowing down. ;)
ReplyDeleteDianne Yep, I've used seat covers, too. I wonder if Michael has used corn cobs before. He should have plenty on hand. Oh, and thanks for the high five. LOL
ReplyDeletecorn cobs? corn cobs for what? Surely you don't mean for el wipo!
ReplyDeleteDianne...who else do I need to speak louder for?
I don't know how this thread went from Bye Bye Birdie to yall's personal hygiene habits but I have never tended to my "needs" with corn cobs, seat covers or dress patterns. A garden hose? Maybe. A roll of Viva? Sure. A bathroom rug? It coulda happened. But CORN COBS!!?? I don't think so.
Audrey is 39 a year older than me and a couple of others too
ReplyDeleteHate tl think about bathroom and corn. Shhh
Splat!!
ReplyDeleteTINA...sooooo loved the pics! You certainly should be proud of your babies!
ReplyDeleteEvening Tina, Dianne, Zona, Michael and Just Lin!!
ReplyDeleteSHIRLEY splatted on me. Now I need to go find some TP, seat covers, VIVA and a rug to clean myself up.
ReplyDeleteOY
Hi Maureen!
ReplyDeleteI thought this blag was going to be about our Birdeeeee!!
ReplyDeleteTina I think you may see an Oscar or a Tony on your mantle sometime in the future! Nice pic and congrats for raising good kids!
ReplyDeleteOh don't be such a drama queen Maureen! I didn't get you THAT dirty!!
ReplyDeleteI thought the blog was about Birdee too! I was kind of scared to scroll down!
BTW Maureen...you missed a spot!!!!! HA!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!
ReplyDeleteSHIRLEY...since the blag is about acting, then did you expect any less then drama queen from me? After all, I am an experienced actress...I was a penguin in Mr. Popper's Penguins in 5th grade, when I was the only 5th grader not allowed in the 5th grade choir :(
ReplyDeleteNot funny you biotch! My glasses were covered in your splat, so I'm sure I missed many spots!
ReplyDeleteWait a minute Maureen and I'll get my tiny violin out and play you a sympathy tune!!
