This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!

YouTube Challenge - I Gave My Kids a Terrible Present
I kind of did something like that one year when I worked in the bakery, only it was with a cake for a co-worker's birthday. Whenever it was someone's birthday the bakery always made them a cake, but this time I just used an upside down cake pan and decorated it. It was very funny when they tried to cut into it!
Michael, That last kid was a riot. It's kind of mean to do that to kids, but it was funny. Unfortunately, it put the kids in a really bad light. The half eaten sandwich and the onion were genius. I think this is what is called a teachable moment! It gives new meaning to "it's the thought that counts."
SacBarb I missed seeing you in the nest recently. Have you been out shopping and otherwise getting ready for the holiday. My house is decorated but still no tree. I have two gifts purchased but not wrapped. I made fudge yesterday and have to bake cookies today. I've started addressing cards but am only in the H's now. I'm tired thinking about it. Maybe I should just go back to bed.
Shirley, "They go into town, and blow a few bucks." Bwhahahahahah.
J/L I have been busy making cards (got then in the mail today) and working at Christmas Promise but not shopping. Did all that on-line before Thanksgiving. Got some of the gifts mailed and still have some to mail tomorrow. I hope they get there on time, but if not...oh well!
I'm trying to get the house cleaned (getting all my craft crap put away) cause my youngest son and DIL are coming up from San Diego tomorrow. They are going to a Raiders game on Sunday. We are going to celebrate my oldest son's birthday (it was yesterday) on Saturday with a homemade beef strogonoff dinner. It is his fave meal.
It is a very busy time. Gotta go. Have a good rest of your day everyone.
Hello everyone. Michael, that video was so darn funny I loved the little girl that likes her moms cooking---hot pockets and was. It to thrilled with the half eaten sandwich. She was still trying to be somewhat nice to her mom. They were all very funny.
JL, glad u r getting some things done for Christmas. It was a huge relief for me to get my cards out so early this year and I have finally started some wrapping. The girls r coming over Monday to help but had to get theirs done.
Nice to see u Barb. How is ur foot doing? We have a hard football game this week. How about u? We r having fun watching Tebow this year
I like ur jokes Shirley. Some r a little naughty.
Ok. Have to run. Going to see Westside Story show tonight.
Finally got to watch the Dreidel video...OMG!! I again had tears running down my cheeks!! The cowboy with the pais (sp) long curly sideburns...too funny!
Been baking all afternoon making the cookies using this new coookie press. Trying to replicate what Mom did but I am very disappointed. This press makes the cookies smaller and I needed to bake them less time than wht the recipe called for, resulting in the first couple of batches being over-cooked. It just isn't the same. Maybe next year I'll have Mom's old cookie press here.
And after dinner, I need to bake the peanut butter ones with the kisses in the middle. I want to get a package of fudge and cookies off to my brother tomorrow. I'm tired. Wish I would have done all this sooner.
SacBarb It sounds like it is a very busy but fun time for you. You are so much more organized than I am. There was a time when I would get things done well ahead of time but I've become quite a procrastinator.
not done with my xmas cards.....haven't even made hubby his birthday card (tomorrow)....but all my presents for the CA family are bought, wrapped, and under their tree~ :D

Shirley, You are quite the trickster. Was there a real cake after the joke?
ReplyDeleteMichael Congrats on being first and the most presidentially hopeful today.
ReplyDeleteThe vid was a riot! I must say, though, my kids never, ever would have made a remark like the last kid.
Shirley It must have been funny to see the look on the birthday honoree when they tried to cut the cake. That was a good joke to play.

I loved the boy that got the Hello Kitty t-shirt...he was hilarious...
Just showed the vid to my son and laughed all over again.
