This made me laugh . . just had to share with you.
A group of 15 year old girlfriends discussed where they should meet for
dinner. Finally, it was agreed upon that they should meet at the Dairy
Queen next to the Ocean View restaurant because they only had $6.00
between them and Jimmy Johnson, that cute boy in Social Studies, lives
on that street and they might see him and they can ride their bikes there.
10 years later, the group of 25 year old girlfriends discussed where
they should meet for dinner. Finally, it was agreed upon that they
should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the beer was cheap,
they had free snacks, the band was good, there was no cover and there
were lots of cute guys.
10 years later, at 35 years of age, the group once again discussed
where they should meet for dinner. Finally, it was agreed upon that
they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the cosmos were
good, it was right near the gym and if they go late enough, there
wouldn't be too many whiny little kids.
10 years later, at 45 years of age, the group once again discussed
where they should meet for dinner. Finally, it was agreed upon that
they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the martinis were
big, and the waiters there had tight pants and nice buns.
10 years later, at 55 years of age, the group once again discussed
where they should meet for dinner. Finally it was agreed they should
meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the food there was
reasonable, the wine list was good, they had windows that open in case
of a hot flash, and fish is good for your cholesterol.
10 years later, at 65 years of age, the group once again discussed
where they should meet for dinner. Finally it was agreed that they
should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because lighting was good and
they have an early bird special.
10 years later, at 75 years of age, the group once again discussed
where they should meet for dinner. Finally it was agreed that they
should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because food was not too
spicy, the restaurant was handicapped accessible and they even had an
elevator!
10 years later, at 85 years of age, the group once again discussed
where they should meet for dinner. Finally it was agreed that they
should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because they had never been
there before.
damn! A restaurant open for over 70 years....you don't see that very often...
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Michael - You look handsome in first place today.
ReplyDeleteJames Bay Inn, a hotel/restaurant that my sister's family and I would visit frequently has been in business since 1911. Of course there have been many renovations. When the tallyhos drive by with their tourists, the driver always announces that James Bay Inn is the oldest restaurant in Victoria. Empress Hotel was actually built in1903. These are unusual however. There are so many restaurants that come and go within a year.
SacBarb - I loved the blog. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDelete(((((Hugs))))) today.
We are completely snowed in today. It has been years since this happened. All schools are closed. Buses aren't running. I am glad we have all the supplies that we need. It's kind of fun but I will be glad when it warms up on the weekend.
Have a great day, snowy or otherwise, all owls everywhere.
Michael You are looking especially handsome today! Congrats on being first and surprising us with your haircut.
ReplyDeleteTinka I'm glad you have all your supplies and can stay inside, warm and cozy.
ReplyDeleteSacBarb Oh, I thought that blog was very funny! Thanks for sharing. I am keeping you in my prayers. I know things will go well tomorrow but it never hurts to have an extra prayer on your behalf, right? (((HUGS)))
ReplyDeleteok...I must ask...what heart procedure is Barb having tomorrow...at what time...and what is the duration of said procedure.
ReplyDeleteIts been on my mind since I heard of her surgery. I thought someone would mention it ...but so far...no one has..
J/L...No haircut...lol...20 year old picture...
Michael - That is a very nice picture of you.
ReplyDeleteI don't know any details or I would tell you. I just hope everything goes well.
Jack is getting very bored with being housebound. He has his Ranger here and Explorer but not his large truck. They are 4 wheel drive as is my Toyota but 4 wheel drive vehicles are not doing well on the roads. His Ford F350 would get him around but it is stranded in 2 feet of snow and ice at the farm. I would hate to live in a place where this kind of weather goes on for weeks. We should be warm by the weekend.

ReplyDeleteThis story made me think of the 'girls' I went to school with and with whom I was supposed to be in Bodega Bay this weekend. In fact, we have had conversations like this many times.
Michael, Congrats on first place today. That's a mighty handsome avatar.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question, I am having bypass surgery tomorrow. At my pre-op today the time was changed to between 12:00pm and 2:00pm. I will be in the hospital for a week barring any complications.
Barb...
ReplyDeleteMy Dad had bypass surgery in the late 1990's...and of course it added years is life. Its amazing that they do it everyday all over the world. Even back when my Dad had his is was a common procedure.
Or as my Mother said...common until someone you love has the procedure...
how true that is....I wanted to know a few details so while I'm thinking about you tomorrow I will be on que...
I'm sure everyone from the nest would be there in the waiting room if it were possible tomorrow...I would be...but I will be sending good thoughts and yes...hugs...as you make ur initial recovery from surgery...
I think I need to switch out hugs for hand holding and little hand squeezes...
ReplyDeleteya don't hug someone after heart surgery...but you know what I mean...
J/L, Thanks for the prayers. Never can have too many.
ReplyDeleteTinka, I love to go into old hotels and other buildings and look at the old architecture. When Lynn and J/L were here we went to the old Governor's Mansion. I think it is beautiful.
Zona SWAK
Thank you Michael.
ReplyDeleteSAC BARB...that was very funny! The end was unexpected!
ReplyDeleteI will be there in spirit holding your hand and saying all kinds of prayers. I KNOW it will all be ok.
{{{gentle hugs}}}
MICHAEL...I like your picture.
TINKA...that is a lot of no for you. It is typical here! And I don't like it! Glad you are safe and warm and cozy in the house.

Tina, how can u have snow coming when we r going tone in the 60's thru Monday? It seems like only yesterday u didn't want the oldest driving in snow.
Zona, u will have to travel up ur one mountain to find some snow or come and visit. We will go look at the snow and go to tea. Doesn't that sound fun?
JL-u can come and visit too if u r dreaming of a white Valentines Day. We could have a party.
