Some Guys Have All The Luck

by Zona

I love Rod Stewart. I love his music..his voice..his smile..his personality. I've been listening to him since I was a teenager and I can't think of a single song of his that I don't like. I really think it's the video that makes this song one of my very favorites. I hope you like it as much as I do. btw..I also love his red sneakers..js..  :D

  3. Good Morning Tina and Michael - Happy Sunday to you.

  4. Tina - You moan even on Sunday? That's the Lord's day. Shouldn't you just be praying. He is watching you know. I know I pray all day long. I want lots of jewels in my crown when I get to Heaven. LOL

  5. Michael - I love Barb's chair. I think she will love it too.
I don't like to brag but I still think mine is the best.

  6. Zona - My sister and I always loved Rod Stewart too. We could never figure out his sex appeal (you can't really call him good looking) but he does have IT. Can we see the video you chose if we go on U-tube? I want to see his red sneakers.

  7. I just got up. Jack (who is always up by five) is still asleep. I guess he still has a lot of healing to do.
I must feed my "fur babies". They are looking not too happy because their breakfast is late.

    Have a great day everyone.

  8. Barbs chair is an antique salvage theater chair from Radio City Music Hall in NYC....

I has the original brass seat and aisle number and has been restored to its original condition...

  9. Morning glories!

Zona I have always enjoyed his antics as well. ;)

    Perfect chair for Barb Michael!

Waving at everyone! I have more chores than I can shake a stick at to do, so I must be running along.

  10. Happy Sunday Owls.

There is no video, just a blank space with 'advertisement' written on top. :( I agree with Tinka, Rod is not that good looking, but he has got something that draws me in. I really like his recent CDs of old standards.

  11. Michael, Thank you. This really is the perfect chair for me. I love theater and I am an antique. I have ushered for over 40 years at the Music Circus, which was the last summer stock tent venue in the U.S. until they decided to build a permanent structure about 7 years ago. To raise money for the project they sold seats and a few of us ushers went together and bought one, so I actually have part of a seat in that theater, kinda like a time share.

  12. Sending a big HELLO to Tina, Tinka, Lynn and all the other Owls that may fly in later. Must get back to 'THE ROOM.' I can't believe how much crap I have in there and I am getting rid of most of it. BBL

  13. That was the hardest I have worked on finding what I wanted!

Well its seems I am batting 100 so far on chairs!! lol

  14. Tina Good moaning. Only two minutes to the afternoon and I haven't done anything useful. I will have to fly through here quickly and get going. I have lots to do that I've been procrastinating about.

  16. Zona I haven't watched the vid yet but I like Rod, too. He has an interesting, gravely kind of voice. I have a couple of his CDs.

  17. Michael You really are batting 100 on the chair choices. That is really perfect for Barb.

  18. Tinka I hope Jack perks up soon. I know we all want to feel useful but I think some men are especially that way and he may be afraid that he's no longer useful or productive if he has to give up his farm. Too bad he doesn't have someone to become partners with so he could keep it without doing all the work.

  19. LynnD It looks like you had a fun day yesterday. Those kinds of outings are fun and relaxing at the same time.

  20. SacBarb It feels good to clear stuff out, doesn't it. I was on a roll for a while there, then my son moved back in and I feel like I've taken a giant step backwards.

  21. Good Afternoon Lynn, SacBarb and Just_Lin. Don't you just love Sundays?

  22. Lynn - I have more chores to do than you can shake 10 sticks at but I can't seem to get anything done today. I am rationalizing that one should not do servile work on Sundays. That's what the nuns told me. While I am on the subject of Sundays I must confess to Tina that I really do not pray all day Sunday. I thought I had better say that before someone in Heaven reads our blog and discovers that I am not the truly honest person I portray.

  23. Barb - I have had spare rooms that have become storage rooms. Isn't it unbelievable what you find when you clear them out? I cleared out two rooms 12 years ago when I had International students. I found some real treasures but 90 percent could either be recycled or thrown out. I vowed I wouldn't let that happen again but when Jack returned I put all my dolls downstairs and I still haven't set the room up the way I had it upstairs. I think Farmville and Farmtown have got in my way.

  24. Just_Lin - Jack is considering taking on a partner. The problem is finding just the right person. He started off as partner with the Superintendent of Victoria Schools. They bought 94 acres between them. It wasn't long before it became apparent that this partner liked the idea of having a trout farm but didn't much like the work. He still wanted to spend all school holidays in Bermuda or some other warm spot. Jack had to either do double work or the farm would fail. After a year they split the farm with Jack taking 54 acres with 3 man made lakes and the partner took the rest with one lake. It has worked just fine until now. Now it's time for Jack to rest in the sun. We aren't travelling anymore but we get enough sun here. He can keep the farm as more of a hobby farm. We love to camp there. It's so peaceful.

    Tinka...

I am glad you like ur chair...I think you would enjoy thumbing thru a MacKenzie-Childs catalog...they have the most fantastic things for doggies and people...of course you can visit their website too!

Tomorrow I will be presenting Zona's chair...I have had it for a while but I detected a hint of voodoo and had to cast a counter spell to get rid of the bad magic...not to worry though...I got my voodoo certification online from the Port Au Prince University of Voodoo and Cosmetology...
