This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
Thank you Michael. Those first songs of Elvis took me right back to my teenage years and driving around in my new 1957 Nash Metropolitan with the radio turned up as loud as it would go. Ah those were the years!!!!!
Thanks for finding them for me.
I am going back to bed but I shall return to listen to them again.
Michael - That is exactly what my car looked like. I tried to upload a picture of me with my car but it said it was unrecognizable. I will try and upload it to Facebook. It was a great little car and I had it until just a few years ago. I was going to restore it but it got very expensive to do that so I sold it. Now I wish I hadn't.
I loved this Elvis Come Back Special. I remember Jack and I watching it in 1968. (That was also the year our first daughter was born.) This TV show revitalized Elvis' career and was a prelude to his shows in Vegas.
Wow! "8" The Play....has its West Coast Premiere tonight at the Wilshire Ebell Theater in Los Angeles...
An unconstitutional proposition. An unprecedented decision. An unforgettable event. A new play by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black (Milk, J. Edgar), "8" chronicles the historic federal court trial of California's Proposition 8 using actual court testimonies and media interviews. Learn about the arguments used to justify discrimination and hear empirical and emotional evidence about why gay and lesbian American should have the fundamental freedom to marry.
Starring George Clooney...Brad Pitt...Martin Sheen...Kevin Bacon...Christine Lahti...Campbell Brown...Matt Bomer...Chris Colfer...Jansen Panettiere... James Pickens, Jr...John C. Reilly...Jayne Lynch...Matthew Morrison...Jamie Lee Curtis...Yeardley Smith...George Takei...Bridger Zadina...and Jesse Tyler Ferguson..just to name a few...live on stage tonight...
You can see the play free on You Tube or at afer.org at 7:30pm PST...
Thanks for the compliment Just_Lin. I know "old age" is just around the corner.
Yes, Elvis was one of a kind and still is. There will never be another that's for sure. I have loved him for 50 years and felt so sorry when drugs got the better of him. I am taking all my Elvis memorabilia with me when I go to Heaven. I hope that is possible.
We have heavy winds here. I have been watching CNN and seeing the tornadoes in the Mid West. I know people in Indiana and Ohio. I hope they are safe. Did this affect anyone we know on the blog or Facebook?
Michael - That play in Los Angeles sounds very interesting. Gas up your private jet and pick me in time to get a good seat. I don't think I can see it in Canada. There are a lot of good shows that we miss here. The government is trying to protect and promote Canadian entertainment but they aren't too successful at it.
Zona - Thinking of you and hoping you get well soon. This has gone on too long. I am praying you will be perfectly well in a couple of days. I miss our talks but more importantly I want you well again. (((Hugs)))
Jack's ferry has arrived back from Vancouver. With this high wind I was afraid it would be delayed or cancelled. It's fun to hear the wind whistling around the eaves but only when you know everyone you love is safe.
I just read about a 2 year old little girl found in a field near her home. The rest of her family were killed. She is in critical condition abd extended family members are with her...
They lived in a mobile home. The neighbors brick house was destroyed but they rode it out in their basement...
Michael - I heard about this little girl being found in the field too. These stories just amaze me. We had a little girl fall (or dropped by her mother) off the Capilano Suspension bridge in Vancouver. She was completely unhurt after falling 250 feet. Some people thought she was carried down by angels. Some people had no explanation. It's unbelievable she wasn't killed or badly hurt at the very least. It is on tape so there is proof of the fall. Google "Capilano Suspension bridge" and you will see how amazing this is. That's why I believe in miracles.
Michael - It sure looked like the mother just held the baby over the bridge and dropped her. She had a 6 year old with her. She didn't panic. She just said to her son "I guess we had better leave". The baby floated down like a feather. It was really rare. I have only walked across that swinging bridge once and I will never go again. It is at its worse when you are in the middle. By that time it doesn't make any difference whether you turn around or keep going. Almost everyone hangs on tight to the railing. Everyone except that woman who stopped in the middle and let go of her baby. We couldn't believe that she got away with it. The RCMP came out the "bad guys".
Goodnight Tinka~ I've been working on a blanket I'm trying to finish by Monday~ It's almost there~ Glad you liked the video of ur Elvis, but I don't think you'll need to take ur memorabilia with you....won't he be there?~ I heard Heaven is "all access"~ :D
MICHAEL: That was so cool! What a great vid you chose for TINKA! Is there anything better than Elvis' 68 Comeback Special? I don't think so! I loved it!
TINKA: There is just something about Elvis that no other performer has ever been able to duplicate. It's the little boy charm..the sparkle in his eye..the rascal in his smile..the not taking himself too seriously..there will never be another entertainer like him...ever...
Thank you for the get well wishes and prayers my BFF..I'm getting better..just a little tired.. :)
Waving a big ol' Hello to J/LIN, LYNN and TINA!
Long day today..I'm just about ready to outen the lights..I hope everyone sleeps well..and has only the sweetest dreams..G'night!

Rock-a-hula baby, Rock-a-hula baby
ReplyDeleteRock-a-hula baby Rock Rock Rock a-hula baby
The way she moves her hips to her fingertips
I feel I'm heaven bound
And when she starts to sway, I've gotta say
She really moves the grass around...
I love that lyric..."she really moves the grass around...lol
Your welcome Tinka! Now I gotta find a picture of a 1957 Nash Metropolitan!
