The Great Gatsby

by Zona

The Great Gatsby is one of my favorite books..I liked the movie from the 70's as well. I think this re-make looks pretty interesting. I'm not sure about Leonardo DiCaprio as Gatsby..but that's just because I think Robert Redford was so perfect in the original. I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie..and not just because there are no super heroes in it.... ;D

  4. Good Morning Shirley and Lynn-
Zona relayed a message for me a couple of nights ago. Since it was the last comment of the night it might have been missed by some of our owls. I have decided to take a summer hiatus from the blog. I love you all but I just wasn't getting any of my projects done. I have a DVD that is one third finished of Tango. I am working on that right now. I hope to get to my albums as well. Wishing you all a wonderful summer. See you in the Fall. Stay safe. Love, Tinka

Zona - That movie looks great. I will buy it when it comes to DVD.

  5. Shirley Well, that was by far the messiest and noisiest arrival in the nest yet! Good thing you are so pretty.

Funny that you have a swamp to sell. I have a bridge I can sell you. It's really pretty. I'd call it golden, actually. ;)

  6. Zona I will probably see this movie. I don't remember if I saw the entire one with Redford. I don't think I would be too influenced by that one not to enjoy this one.

  11. Hi Guys!

Merci beaucoup for the comments today! I decided to use a little French because F. Scott Fitzgerald..who wrote The Great Gatsby..loved visiting there.

SHIRLEY: You are a vision today! The Great Gatsby was required reading in a lot of high schools..so chances are you probably read it..remembering it is another story..I understand the 'forgetting' all too well! ;D

LYNN: Redford always has my full attention no matter what role he plays..but he was perfect for Gatsby..imho..

TINKA: Love you too..I will miss your comments and wonderful wit here on the blog..but I know you'll have a great summer..and I'll look forward to you coming back in the Fall. :)

J/LIN: Get to bed earlier? But..you're a Night Owl!! ;D

TINA: I'm not a big fan of Leo either..but I think the locations, sets and costumes are going to look so cool on the big screen! I don't think we'll go as far as seeing it in 3-D though..I don't see the point of that..

What movies did you rent? Were the two you watched any good?

DI: I heard a faint "Yippee" when I was outside today..was that you perhaps? :D

You don't want to see it? It's a love story..I think you and the girls might like it! :)

  13. Zona, I will probably go see this version, but I will also probably be comparing RR to Leo. I hope they stay close to the book and don't try to update it. I loved the costumes and the house they used in the early film. I went to a Gatsby themed wedding once where they asked everyone to wear white or cream clothes. Hubby and I went to a thrift store and got him a cream colored suit which he NEVER wore again. But it was a fun wedding.

Waving a wing to everyone. I am very tired today so I am going to bed early (for me). Sweet dreams and have a good Friday all. ♥
