LADIES!!! Remember ... a layer of dust protects the Wood beneath it.'A house becomes a home when you can write 'I love you' on the furniture .'
I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend making sure things were just perfect - 'in case someone came over'. Finally I realized one day that no-one came over; they were all out living life and having fun!
NOW, when people visit, I don't have to explain the 'condition' of my home.
They are more interested in hearing about the things I've been doing while I was away living life and having fun.
If you haven't figured this out yet, please heed this advice.
Life is short. Enjoy it!
Dust if you must ........
but wouldn't it be better to paint a picture or write a letter, bake cookies or a cake and lick the spoon or plant a seed, ponder the difference between want and need?
Dust if you must, but there's not much time . . . ...
with wine to drink, rivers to swim and mountains to climb, music to hear and books to read, friends to cherish and life to lead.
Dust if you must,
but the world's out there with the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair, a flutter of snow, a shower of rain. This day will not come around, again.
Dust if you must, but bear in mind, old age will come and it's not kind....
And when you go - and go you must - you, yourself will make more dust!
It's not what you gather , but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have lived.
Good God....I don't dust!!!!~
ReplyDeleteGreat blog, Barb. Even my cleaning lady doesn't dust great. Only where you can see it. Irritates me actually but we really like her. I guess I got side tracked there.
ReplyDeleteMorning Tina. You look pretty cool there at first.
I woke up at 4:30 am realizing I don't have a bathrobe for the hospital and I hear they are going to be making me walk. I went online and ordered one right away. I simply have my eyes pop open with things I need to do in the next two weeks.
Today I have my first of two pre ops and yesterday I went to an early pt visit to get some exercises I can do now to strengthen my leg before surgery plus my other knee that's been replaced isn't feeling great. Think I'm favoring it too much. I am getting around better the last couple of days.
Our weather is supposed to be in the 60's and maybe even some rain today and tomorrow. I hope so and the back up to 80 for the weekend but that is nice.
Ok, talking too much Thanks for the comments on yesterday blog. Glad you all got a smile out of them.
BARB: I LOVE THIS!! I hate to dust..yet I always seem to be dusting..now I have a logical, reasonable explanation not to do so!! Thank you! :D
ReplyDeleteGood Morning TINA and DI!
TINA: Lookin' good in First!
DI: Do you have slippahs? Maybe you can find some cool Bronco ones!!
Off to make lunch for work for Randy..and NOT to dust! Yay! :)
Have a good day everyone!
testing
ReplyDeletehaving troubles posting again. I lost my comment.
ReplyDeleteI guess I am in-
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Tina - Congrats on being first.
Good Morning Dianne - You are in my prayers every night. I know you will do great.
Good Morning Zona - I wonder if I will finish my comment before your call comes in. Did I tell you before your calls make my day? Love you.
I don't like dusting but my cleaning lady does a great job. She is also good at deep cleaning. She brings me my Slim Fast and anything else I desire. I wish she lived here.
I did better at water therapy today. The water was a few degrees warmer and that helped. My legs and hands didn't cramp for the first 25 minutes. It was actually fun.
Off to my farms. Have a terrific Tuesday everyone.
Zona: yes, I have some of them around here somewhere. I never wear those either. I'm always barefoot...year round.
ReplyDeleteHere's another idea I read probably of FB...put a get well card out and then if someone visits they think you haven't cleaned because you weren't feeling well!!!! Makes sense to me.
Tink: glad water exercise was better today bits never fun to be cold. Thank you so much for keeping me in your prayers. You have no idea how much that means to me.
I feel like I've been up for hours--oh wait, I have been. I'm telling you this early am stuff is for the birds not this owl
Happy Tuesday everyone!
ReplyDeleteI have to dust, my house is a dust magnet! My allergies kick in and I know it's time to dust lol!
I don't keep a lot of knick knacks around, so it doesn't take me long.
Diane a robe? WHATSTHEMATTAH? don't you want the hospitals cute rear end air conditioner ones ;0
Zona, I see your dust all the way from here lol! I was wondering if those huge dust storms managed to creep into your house this summer.
Tinka, I would love to borrow your cleaning lady :)
Tina, let's see, you don't dust, iron or cook. That must lave a lot of time for "entertaining" your hubby ;-)
Tina, that must "leave" a lot of you-know-what time for hubby!
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon Owls. I posted a comment early this a.m. right after Dianne and it disappeared. How does that happen?
ReplyDeleteTina, I don't dust much either, but now I have validation why.
Zona, I did think of you when I read this. I know you're always dusting, now you don't have to.
Dianne, Ditto what Mary said about the fashionable holiday garb. When I was in the hospital, the patients had a fashion show walking the hall like it was a runway. ;-) Chad organized it. LOL Maybe you can get one of your kids to do that for you. P.S. you are in my prayers, too and I put you on the prayer list at church.
Tinka, Glad you had some fun time at water therapy.
Hey Mary, How's things? Are you going to Palm Springs in April?
Oh Barb, thank you so much for your prayers and putting me on the prayer list. That is so nice of you.
ReplyDeleteI went to dr today and she decided instead of border line diabetic that she will call it full blown diabetic. I'm not happy about it at all. She said two points lower and I wouldn't be. I guess no cake at the hospital. I was with dr for 45 min for full check up. Not happy
Hi Mary: I don't dust, iron or cook either. I'm not telling Louis what you think I should be doing. And NO----I don't want my big bottom hanging out in the hallway.
