This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
Good Morning Tina - I love me some Andy too, especially at Christmas time. It will be sad this year listening to his album and knowing he is now singing with the angels. I loved his Christmas tv specials. I have them on video and I still play them each year. I can't watch your video. It tells me it is embedded or something and to go and watch it on u-tube. I will find it later.
Tomorrow is the 6th anniversary of my sister's passing. We are going to the graveyard today to put red roses (her favourite) on the grave. I hope the deer haven't eaten them all by tomorrow. In some ways it seems like it all happened yesterday and in other ways it seems like she has been gone forever.
TINA: I love this song..and Andy Williams rendition of it is the best. Music is by Henry Mancini..lyrics by Johnny Mercer..who is one of my favorite songwriters. Great quiet..kinda sad but not song..perfect.. :)
TINKA: I know what you mean..I sometimes forget how many years mom and dad have been gone..it's weird isn't it? Memories of our loved ones are so fresh in our minds I think we sometimes lose track of the passage of time. {{Hugs}} Love you!
Tinka I know what you mean about the passage of time. My trip to SoCal last week was the first time I've been down there since 13 months ago when my mother died. In some ways, it seems just like yesterday.
Zona It is about 60* here with clear blue skies. Our local street fair, the Pacifica Fog Fest, is underway. Ha! I hope your weather is becoming milder.
Tina, I love Andy too. I was very fortunate to go twice to Branson and see his show in his Moon River Theater. Once was his Christmas show. They were wonderful.
Tink: I'm the same way with time. I like that saying I've seen that "I wish they had visiting hours in Heaven".
JL, aren't you going to the fair? I used to love going to those kind of things years ago when I could get around better. We went to every craft show during the holidays.
Zona. Now don't start singing. We will just all listen to Andy. Actually, I couldn't open it up either but I know that voice.
Getting ready to go meet my friend for a late Mexican breakfast. My knee seems to be bothering more today so guess I will take my new blue one.
And Zona remember one important saying of the day(you too Barb)-----GO BRONCOS BEAT THE RAIDERS!!!!
Tina, I love this song and I was so in love with Andy. I was glad when he dumped his wife, then she 'accidentally' shot Spider Sabich (sp) and he was there to support her. What a guy!
Di, hmmmm, I've never heard that important saying, however the horses are leading right now. :(
Tinka, I can't believe it's been almost 20 years since my hubby has been gone. Chad and I talked a lot about him after my surgery when he was here taking care of me.
J/L, ugh, I wish it was in the 60s here.
Zona, Is it sacrilegious to light a candle for the Raiders?
YES----it is sacrilegious to light a candle for the Raiders. You Raider fans will do anything to win. Btw Barb, I tried to make a little bet with Zona and to get a few extra points (since we have that new QB Peyton) and she said you taught her not to give points. I might have won millions!!!!
SacBarb Your mention of champion skier Spider reminded me of a very funny SNL skit from long ago. It was Weekend Update with Chevy Chase and Jane Curtain. They were showing film of ski jumpers and they kept getting accidentally shot while in the air.
We are home and it's been a busy day. We took flowers to the graveyard. It's a lovely sunny day and that helps. The graveyard in the rain is so sad. That was what it was like on Nov. 14th, 2006, the first birthday and only 6 weeks since my sister's passing. We stood in the rain and just cried. Then we went to dinner and no-one could eat. Today it was very peaceful there.
After we laid flowers we went from sad to happy by going to Pet's West with Tango and Tia to buy their Halloween costumes. Tia is going to be Winnie the Pooh and Tango a lobster. They are such cute costumes. We also bought a Thunder shirt for Tango. Zona suggested it because Tango gets so nervous when she is going to the Vet or the groomer's. If anyone has any personal experience with these shirts please let me know.
Zona - Thanks for the hugs. I felt them all the way to Canada. Thanks also for suggesting I see if they sold Thunder shirts locally. I was going to order it from Amazon and that would have taken a couple of weeks to get it.
Just_Lin - I know what you mean too. On one hand 13 months can seem like a life time and on the other it seems like yesterday.
Dianne - I have always wanted to go to Branson. There are so many shows there I would like to see. One of them was Andy Williams and another was The Lennon Sisters. I guess I will never get there now. When you go there how do you pick and choose which shows you can include in your trip? There are so many good ones.
Barb - I remember Andy Williams' first wife, Claudine Longet. I never liked her either and couldn't see why he married her. She seemed so cold and conceited. Maybe that is unfair to judge but that was the impression I had of her.
Dinner time. The sun is setting and it is a beautiful sunset tonight. Tomorrow October begins and I will get out the Thanksgiving decorations. Our Thanksgiving is next weekend.
Have a great evening everyone. God bless one and all.
J/L, I remember that skit on SNL. I think it was some kind of ski tournament. Weekend Update is still my fave part of SNL. It was and still is very funny.
I got a call this morning a 8am that my new refrigerator will be here Thursday. I am so happy, because I am leaving Friday for the in-laws family reunion in Santa Maria, then continuing on to San Diego. I was trying to figure out how to have someone here if it was delivered while I am gone.
Good Moaning!!!~

Dianne Looks like we won as did your Broncos. Congrats to us both.
ReplyDeleteSacBarb Yay! What perfect timing.
ReplyDeleteI heard on the news that it got up to 80* here in Pacifica. For us, that's like a heatwave.
