This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
How cute, Barb. I love the ending of it. He's so darn cute. Thanks for the blog.
Area 51: thanks for the pumpkin coffee and donuts. It hits the spot. I love pumpkin anything.
It was still dark when I awoke....I thought that all changed with the time change. Guess not this early. I think my knee woke me up wanting some tylenol.
Guess I claim first today but I don't look to pretty yet.
Change in my schedule for the day. My store leader muffed up the schedule, so I volunteered to go home at 6:30am and go back in from 10am-4pm. I really didn't have any plans, plus I had already voted last week!!
Although I think I'll have to load up on cawfee before Jake's wrestling match at 4:15!! Yikes!!!
BARB: So cute..thanks for the early morning smile!
DI: Good Morning pretty lady! I got up when it was still dark too..but went back to bed..it was actually a little chilly in here!
JODI: Thank you for the Glazers! I don't think I've ever had pumpkin donuts..my memory is so bad tho..I could have! I'm not a coffee person..so I'll just sip my DP! :)
Have a good day everyone..it's going to be an interesting one..that's for sure!
ZONA - Last year we pumpkin cake donuts....delicious!!! This year they put out a spicy apple cake donut. It's delicious too, but people want the pumpkin ones back!!
HOdi Well, darn! Looks like I missed those glazer donuts. This is probably for the best as I keep getting into the leftover Fun Size Snickers and having way too much fun eating them. I'm afraid to get on the scale to see what kind of damage I've done.
SacBarb Thank you for the cute blog. That kid is adorable! I mailed my ballot in on Oct. 23 and it arrived on Oct. 25. I'm glad I have that out of the way.
A friend sent me this video in an email and it cracked me up. He's gonna love it when he grows up and his parents show it at his graduation party.
I plan to watch a movie on TV tonight because I don't want a vote-by-vote description of the results. Just give me the bottom line, hopefully during the 11:00 news. I am already sick of all the possibilities they have described and if, if, if......
I am off to get my nails prettied up. Thanks for all the comments. BBL
Barb, I just came back from getting my nails done. It was five weeks and I was over due. I had them done the week before surgery. I wasn't sure if I could sit so long for nails and wax but I did. Louis drove me. Amazing what we can do to get pretty. I feel better. Now I have to figure out how I can go get my hair cut and "highlighted" as JL calls it.
JL, I didn't realize I had all those crumbs in my hair. Thanks for pointing it out before I got to the nail salon. I could have had mice....yikes!!! I get a little crazy when I eat donuts. I'd probably take a snickers too.
Zona, yes, my SOS does sound like a boat lol. Hey, it was very early this morning. Now what is chilly......70? 80?
What a day!! My boss is out of the store til Thursday. O M G.....the drama with a co-worker. Had to call him to protect myself. Sparks are gonna fly when he gets back....just sayin'!! And it's been a long time coming! Karma is a bitch ;)
The sun is out and the birds are singing. I am going out and about today. Thought I would go out and see if any of the retailers are selling weed yet. :)
LynnD Medicinal marijuana is legal here but the Feds (I guess that would be DEA agents) come and raid the places selling it because it is still against federal laws. Makes no sense.
J/L, I am well, thank you for asking. I have a cleaning lady here today (first time in 3 months) and while she is scrubbing the bathrooms, I am working at cleaning up some of my craft stuff so I can mess it up again making Christmas cards. I've already started.
Lynn, Chad said last night he is wondering when Bartell's will start selling joints since they sell cigarettes. LOL There is that little DEA thing that J/L mentioned and if they do it here, I suppose WA & CO will have the same issues. Anyway, it ought to be interesting.
Morning oh whoops, guess its afternoon already but I just woke up. My pt guy will be here at 2 so it takes me awhile to get ready. I hate being so slow.
Lynn, you look very lovely. Good luck on that shopping trip. Lol.
Barb, we are good here. Better than a month ago, that's for sure.
JL, I think our state might be the same on pot we shall see as it just passed last night. Our governor not happy about it at al.
Pt is over for the day and I've graduated to a walker with wheels and a little seat. Next will be a cane---yea, can't wait. It will be awhile plus I have to see what dr has to say on Friday. I so hope he is agreeing with pt.
What's everyone doing today? Our weather couldn't be anymore perfect. I went for a walk to the mailbox and back too. They are saying possible snow for the weekend but we sure can enjoy this weather for November
Anyway, yes, today was all happy happy joy joy! I think we averted a future filled with dark scenarios and implications and replaced it with one filled with possibilities!
ZONA - We have a new cookie at our store. Deluxe Brownie Cookies. They even have chocolate chips in them. But I think they would b even better with GOLDIE'S "special" touch ;)
Happy Birthday to sweet Dianne! Up and walking a rolling soon you will be running!
Bear I am very happy! No I did not score any weed yet.
Barb and J/L Washington has had medical marijuana for some time now but yes it is still an issue because of Federal laws. The more states that pass laws to decriminalize it will hopefully stop the Feds.
Waving at Jodi and Zona!
Tina I hope you are okay. Getting worried about you!
Zona Supposedly, we have rain on the way. I'm trying to decide if I should stay home and be lazy or go out and be productive in some way. My lazy side is currently winning that debate.
LynnD I have to admit, some of those peeps with Rxs for medical marijuana really don't look like it is legit, although it is certainly legit and helpful for many cases. I think legalizing recreational marijuana makes sense.
J/L, it is raining here now. I went to Costco hoping to get back before it rained, but it started just as I was coming out of the store. Misseditbythatmuch.
Jodi, I did get your voice message. I had my phone on me but it didn't ring. I even made sure it wasn't on vibrate. Sorry. Don't know what is wrong with it. My contract is almost up so it is probably crashing. It isn't holding a charge for very long either. It seems they only last as long as the contract.
Lynn, Maybe the Feds will decide to stop fighting it and legalize pot. Then they could concentrate DEA efforts on the really bad drugs, and also collect taxes on what is sold.
Zona, No ribbon will be harmed in the making of my xmas cards.
Dianne, A very happy birthday to you. I hope you are having a good day.
J/L, I went to the Apple store when I was in San Diego in Oct. and they checked my battery. They said it was OK. Then they told me to delete some stuff on my phone that I don't use and I did that, but it's still acting up. I think the universe is telling me to buy a new phone. I think the universe gets a kick-back from Apple. ;-)
Hi Everyone.....thanks for all the birthday wishes today. We are ordering from Outback for dinner tonight. I'm having a steak salad. I've never had that from there before but thought it would be easier to eat at home and I'm kind of hungry for something fresh.
I went for my daily walk today and drug Louis along with me. I still have to jump on my bike before the day is over.
Mo...hope you're not having bad weather. We are going to have some over the weekend.
We are the Apple house. My husband swears by Apple everything. Barb, are you going to get the new iPhone? I have the 4 and really like it.
Thanks again for the birthday messages on here and FB.
It's been raining off and on since this afternoon. We had some hail for a while, too. I just ordered a wedge salad, minestrone soup, and garlic cheese bread and am waiting for it to be delivered.
JL, that salad was good. Louis had a chicken one. It was nice to eat something fresh and not pasta. We've been eating a lot of pasta this week.
Your dinner sounds good too. No, we still have dessert here and I'm plenty full from the salad. We are so exciting that we both fell asleep in our chairs for a good hour. Now time to ride the bike before the day is over. I havent been too good with my exercises today.
Dianne, Does Outback deliver in your neck of the woods or did someone have to pick it up?
J/L, your dinner sounds good, too. I love wedge salads with blue cheese dressing. And I grew up on minestrone soup and garlic bread. Now I am hungry for all of that. Who can I call to deliver it to me? I don't think we have anyone here.
Barb, no Outback doesn't deliver. But....when Louis drove up they came right out with his dinner. We've never ordered like that before...usually drive through places for us or delivery
SacBarb Suprisingly, I found the soup to be bland. I added salt, pepper, and lots of parmesan cheese and then it was okay. I got this dinner from Goodfellas Pizza. I really like their pizzas and the wedge salad but probably won't get soup there again. There's another restaurant a few miles away that makes really good minestrone. I'll get that next time I'm havin that craving but I'll have to go pick it up myself.
I'll have to start checking around for places other than fast food. I have made a new personal rule not to eat fast food, except Subway, because they have somewhat healthy stuff and I can control the fat.
I'm sure you're Dr. appointment will go well today. It sounds like you are progressing very well.
Tonight I am going to dinner to celebrate my DIL's birthday. I'm not too excited about it because she wants to go to a Chinese buffet place and it's gonna be hard for me to figure out calories. You never know what they put in those sauces. I'm hoping they have some steamed veggies and chicken without a lot of sauce. I have not been to this one before. I'm sure they will have salad stuff, too. I really like Chinese food, so it will be very tempting to just try it all.
Dianne I hope your doctor appointment is going well. I have no doubt that it will, though. Your PT person is pleased with your progress so I'm sure the doctor will be, too. Good job!
SacBarb I think you will be fine at dinner if you avoid the fried stuff. Most of the foods will be primarily vegetables and the sauce won't be that bad, really. You can google a few options ahead of time and get an idea of what the calorie count is on some common dishes.
Last July when I was visiting SacBArb, I hurt my left shoulder and it has never stopped hurting. My pain-free movement is limited so I've finally made a doctor appointment for next Wednesday to see what's going on. At the moment, I can't imagine that I would want to have surgery if that is recommended.
DIANNE - I hope your appt went well!! I work this weekend. How's that for a plan?!!? This morning I was craving popcorn, so I went to Sundance Theater in Madison and watched The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Really cute coming of age movie. Emma Watson is in it. She's an awesome actress. I fell in love with her in the Harry Potter movies! Back to the popcorn. White popcorn with REAL BUTTER!!! O M G!!! GOLDIE can attest to the fact that it is the best!!
J/L, I'm sorry your shoulder is still hurting. It's good that you're going to the doctor to see what's wrong. I hope you don't need surgery, but if you do, you shouldn't put it off. The longer you wait, the more damage you can do. Sincerely, Dr. Barb. ;-)
..and I remembered to take the foil off the ground meat before I cooked it! WooHoo!! :D
DI: I hope your appt went well! I bet your doctor was very happy with your progress! :)
TINKA: As happy as you are with your sunny day..I'm thrilled with our cloudy one..thank you Northern Ca peeps for sending weather our way! :D
BARB: My mom loved Chinese food..but when she ordered some of the less colorful dishes she would say it looked like 'underbelly'..lol..mmmm..appetizing! ;)
Dr. BARB for sure..remember the peppermint oil? just sayin'.. :)
J/LIN: Yikes! I hope whatever is wrong with your shoulder can be fixed with PT..and not surgery..fingers crossed!
Oh JL, how did you hurt your shoulder? I'm glad you're going to the dr. It wasn't the night the three of you went pole dancing, was it? I thought up I told you that could hurt you!!! And......I don't know if your insurance will cover that or not. Maybe you need to change your story to the dr. Hope it will be okay.
Dr Barb, are you related to Dr Zona? She gives our house lots of dos and dont's. I'm not crazy about buffets but I do like Chinese ones. I like the variety at them. I usually don't like to pay to go get my own food. Guess I'm lazy.
I think we have one more nice day of weather and then that cold front will be over here. If it snows, that will take care of my daily walks.
Jodie, how yummy does that buttered popcorn sound right now? I think I could eat the whole bucket.
Tink, your weather sounds like ours. Hope you had a nice walk. I just love being outside in the fall.
Zona, you make me laugh. Your temp drops to 70 and you have the chili on and fireplace lit. Come over here Sunday when it's 28.
Ok, I went to the dr and he doesn't think my leg is straight enough. He send I can bend it really good but just not happy with the straightening of it. Apparently, if its not straight in 12 weeks it won't ever be straight. They are having me start out of the house pt three times a week on Monday. I go back in two weeks to be checked again. He just was not very glad about it. I did point out my progress with rehab and pt and he agreed that I'm doing great with the walking, etc.
My niece just left from a visit and she said she couldn't believe how good I was walking and even so much better than before the surgery so that was encouraging as I see her a lot and she would notice.
Soooooo, that's my dr report today.....sit in a chair and out my foot in front of me on another chair to stretch and straighten!!!
SacBarb I've already put it off for 4 months so I may be in trouble about that. I don't have time for this to require surgery. My daughter and I are going to Hawaii in late January. We'll be able to meet up with Hodi, Lois Lane, MaryMI, and Turtle. Yay!
Dianne, Did the Dr. say why your leg isn't straightening as much as he thinks it should? I had the opposite problem with my first knee surgery. I couldn't bend it past 80 degrees after almost 3 months. He said it was scar tissue that formed that was preventing it, so they took me back in the hospital and put me to sleep and he bent the crap (his word) out of my leg to break the scar tissue. It worked and when I woke up I could bent to 110 degrees. That's probably not your problem though. Hopefully, in two weeks it will all be good.
Barb, no he didn't say. Probably because I'm not straightening enough. I had the same problem as you in the first leg I couldn't bend it but they never did the scar tissue deal on me. It's probably why I've always had trouble with the knee.
I'm not totally discouraged as I know I'm doing so much better than I did last time. I can see how much I can walk etc., and I will just get with the new pt program and work hard on straightening it. I still have my bike and exercises to do at home until Monday arrives.
You guys are all so nice. Thank you for letting me "jump" for joy some days and whine my head off other days. You are all really great good friends.
SLIN - Still hoping you don't have to require surgery. But there are worse places in the world to recover ;) Can't wait to see you again and meet your pretty daughter ♥
As some of you read on fb I am a "Grandma" for the weekend!! My son Tim's turn with the "health baby". I was a little concerned being that it is my weekend to work. I don't know how he did it, but he's staying at his buddy Alex's house. I can't imagine the trouble that is causing for Alex's poor mother!!
It's a cool clear morning here..I'm lovin' that the temps have finally come down! Yeah..Fall!!
Randy is working for a few hours this morning so we got up at 4am. It's also Toastmaster Saturday..and that means I will definitely be sleepin' in the poppies later! ;)
The chili turned out really good..there's plenty for everyone..and we all know it's better the second day..so c'mon down and enjoy!
Waving a wing at JODI, BARB, J/LIN and DI..and of course any other Owls that check in today.
I hope you everyone has nice plans for the weekend.
Dianne it sounds like you are doing very well with your PT. Hang in there I am sure your leg will straighten out.
J/L you are worse than me, get to the doctor woman! I hope it is not serious.
I have to drive down to my Dad's today and tomorrow is Angel's daughter baby shower. Truthfully I would rather stay home and crawl back into bed for both days.
Good morning, HOoters! Well, this is seriously getting scary. I am very worried about Tina. Has anyone heard from her? I emailed her but got no response.
I am up early today as I will be meeting my daughter at our favorite Mexican restaurant for lunch. I will be giving her her birthday present. She just turned 40 on the 1st.
Hello feathered friends! Sorry I am so absent around here. My computer is acting even funkier then usual, so I am being very limited in my comp time.
I'm at the library now, so I have all the time in the world! Well, not really!
It is in the 60's today and will be again tomorrow...maybe 70's. Then next week the weather is to start getting colder again. They did mention the possibility of that nasty 4 letter word, but I choose to ignore that!! Y'all know how I love it...NOT!
JL, I have emailed Tina and not heard back either. Maybe she is just taking some time off (which I'd fine) but Tina, just check in with a moan or something please.
It's pretty cool here today. I woke up chilly. My dil just turned 40 this week too. My son is trying to have a surprise party for her but having a tough time getting her out of the house to do it....plus he's not too organized.
Zona, I had chili last night too. My friends husband made it for us. Very yummy. Yes, I think you will be napping today if you haven't already.
Lynn, sounds like you will be busy all weekend. I'm not crazy about showers but I'd rather go to a baby one than a wedding one. The gifts are more fun to look at being opened.
Barb, were you up late or what? You weren't busy making cards to the wee hours, were you? I agree with Jodi, can't wait to see your Christmas card. Your cards are beautiful.
Jodi, so you're a grandmother for a weekend. Thank goodness it's just for a weekend....besides, you're too young!!
DIANNE...sounds like you are really doing well. I'm glad to hear it. I think a lot of people think of the bending, but not the extension, so I am glad the PT will address that with you. Good work, Bronco Babe!
JUST LIN...so sorry about your shoulder. I hope PT can help you and no surgery will be needed. So excited (and jealous) for your Hawaiian Vacy and the chance to meet up with our feathered friends.
Waiting for Mr. Lynn D to get his arse in gear. I hate waiting. I think I am so crabby because I am spotting. I have not had a period in months and I feel like I want to kick the crap out of someone.
J/L I am worried a bit about Tina too.
Mo I used patches started at the medium strength and then eased down from there. I also kept sugar free gum handy everywhere I would normally light up. Car, talking on the phone etc...I also ate if I was craving something. Yes I have gained weight but the payoff is I am not smoking. Weight is the issue for this year. I am still in the same pants size but it is a bit tight. I think the biggest thing was that I was ready to quit. The first few weeks are rough and then it does get a bit easier each week after and occasionally I have a cig craving like today, I put it down to hormones and stress. I am chewing a piece of gum right now.
MO This is how I did it after 42 yrs of smoking and a habit that was close to 2 packs a day.
1. Watched the movie "The Insider" and got really pissed off about the formaldehyde and other stuff they put in cigarettes, including how they purposely make them as addicting as possible even though they know it is killing us. I kept asking myself, "Why am I giving them permission to kill me?"
2. Used Commit (or drug store brand) nicotine lozenges as directed for my level of addiction. They also come in gum if you like that better. They help take the edge off and slowly wean you off of rhe nicotine addiction.
3. Kept repeating to myself "I am a non-smoker" to reinforce my new self-image and identity. I think that was important for me because I always thought of myself as a smoker.
4. Picke a day and just do it. Each day you don't smoke brings you one day closer to being free of it.
Well, I didn't do too badly at the Chinese restaurant last night. I took a lot of broccoli off the broccoli beef and they had some yummy, spicy, long green beans. Then they had some chicken on a stick that was really good. I didn't take any of the peanut sauce that goes with it. I convinced myself that it looked like poop, so that was easy! ;-) I also had some hot and sour soup because I was cold and it did warm me up. I did eat one walnut shrimp, but I don't even feel guilty about that. All in all, I feel good about my choices. I'm really learning how to do this.
Good luck in your endeavor Mo. I know you can do it and I'm sure it will be hard. These hardship things to change are sure not fun, are they? Too bad we couldn't just wiggle our nose and it would be done....whatever we wanted done!!
Lynn, please try not to kick the cramp out of anyone today. Our bail money is low and we are saving it for Hawaii...as you know we will need plenty.
Mo, you got some good advice from the former smokers. Chad quit smoking after he had his first heart attack and he used a prescription medication that he said worked well. I can't remember what the name is, but I think it began with a "w."
Lynn and J/L, congrats to both of you for successfully quiting.
Yikes! Blogger gave me the boot big time..told me I couldn't post! It didn't even have anything to do with my phone number this time! I was persistent though and they finally let me in..whew.. :)
MO I know you can do it, too. I said it out loud to my mother who quit at the same time. Five years later she was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer so it was too late to save her but she was hoping I quit in time to avoid that. She smoked for 20 years longer than I did.
Zona I was wondering if Barb's poop tactic would work for me during the holiday, too. Somehow, though, I don't think I could ever look at a piece of chocolate fudge and think of it ina any other way than yummy.
Hi...I'm still hungry even with all of you talking about poop!!!
Not much on our dinner menu tonight. Louis is gone but we did have a late lunch but now I'm thinking I should order a pizza. I doubt Louis will think to bring me any food home from his outing. My daughter and friend came to visit and then later my ex SIL and granddaughters came by too. It was a busy full day. Now I'm bored!!! How easy I get bored.
Barb, it sounds like you did great at your buffet last night. Good will power you have there girl!! I don't think I would have been half as good as you were although I love those green beans too. Now I want green beans!!
Zona, it's 28 outside here tonight. Now that's what I call chili weather. I even have socks on. Brrr cold.
I couldn't get on today so now that I can connect I just wanted to check in and say I am still here. There is no way I can comment on everyone's post but I did read them and I send warm thoughts and hope everyone is safe, well and without pain. I must give Tia her insulin shot and then it's bedtime. I will try and do a better job tomorrow. Love, Tinka
JL, I just heard that too. I guess it's raining with a little snow and freezing.
I just Louis a text to go by jack in the box and surprise me with two tacos. We don't have those by our house but he is over by my brothers and they do. Now I hope he sees his text.
Tink, have a good sleep. What r u watching on DVD tonight?
ZONA - Jake and I were out shopping yesterday. He was in need of new shoes (he's killing me here!!!), but I found the cutest socks at Kohls. You know, the extra soft fuzzy ones....and could totally picture you zipping across the floor!!
Good Morning Owls - We are celebrating Remembrance Day today which I guess is the equivalent of your Veterans's Day. We all wear poppies and there are ceremonies in every city at 11:00 am. I have never attended but I always watch it on tv. It never fails to bring tears. All those lives cut short so that we can be free.
Wishing everyone a safe Veteran's/Remembrance Day.
I was gong to change my avatar pic but I can't figure out how to do it. It used to be that we just had to click on our avatar pic and an edit option would come up but that doesn't happen now. Does anyone know how to change it?
Dianne made me go get two tacos last night. When I drove around the corner, a deer ran out from between parked cars and ran across the street in front of me. I'm sure glad I wasn't driving fast.
Whew close call JL. I'm glad you were okay with the deer incident. I'm always ver afraid of deer and elk on the roads. Hope you enjoyed those tacos as much as I did!!
Happy Veterans/Remembrence day to everyone that has served for us.
Jodi, you must be home be now. Looks like the broncos are going to win our game today. Good deal!!
I woke up early to watch the game but promptly fell right back asleep until half time. It's still cold here
Hi Jodi - Congrats on being first today. It's hard to keep track of all the comments. I saw you were marching last night.
Just_Lin - You sure were lucky with that deer. They can cause an awful accident.
Dianne - I hope you are feeling better.
We are watching last season's NCIS. It is such a fun ritual we have. After this we have last season of Bones to watch.
It is a quiet day here. We watched the ceremonies. Jack went out to feed his fish. He is home now and I think we will both have a nap. It's a lazy day.
DIANNE - I would have watched the game, but Sam and I decided to surprise LOIS' daughter with a quick trip down to the sticks :). Her 18 th birthday was on Saturday!! Way to go Broncos!!!
Busy..well sort-of weekend for us..lots to do..but that doesn't mean we did it all..js.. ;) After all the driving we did to get the best price on a computer program..I'm ready to give in and start..yes I said start..lol..shopping on the Internet! Huge step for me!
JODI: It was actually cold..well to me..this weekend..42*..for a low and 62* for a high..I wore big fuzzy socks and did the sliiiiide.. ;D
How fun to take an impromptu trip to LOIS's for her daughter's birthday! I bet the tunes were blasting in the car.. :D
J/LIN and DI: I remember eating JIB tacos when I was a teenager..orange grease dripping down my arm..lol..I loved the way they used triangles of American cheese..classic fast food!! Yumm!
TINKA: NCIS is my favorite show..I even like it better than Smash! and Once Upon A Time..ok..maybe I like them all the same.. :D
Loads of laundry to do..so off I go..sock slidin' through the house..wheeeeeee!!!
Zona It wasn't my feet that were cold this weekend but I could not get my hands to warm up. I was actually considering putting gloves on in the house. I didn't, though. Maybe I should have put fuzzy socks on my hands. LOL
J/L, My hands were cold all weekend too. I actually did put on gloves for a while. It helped, but then I had to take them off because I had to clean the kitchen. LOL at putting fuzzy socks on your hands.
I just realized that today is a holiday for a lot of working folks. I have a hard time keeping track of work holidays since I've been retired.
J/LIN: I'm giggling at the thought of me trying to get up with fuzzy socks on my hands and feet..I'd just keep falling down..and no..it probably wouldn't occur to me to take them off.. ;D
ZONA - Yes.....bouncing and fist pumpin' all the way!! O M G....found the best fuzzy socks at Kohl's today (stopped in Janesville on the way home). Knee high argyle!!! I am so getting them :)
SLIN - I would've greeted LOIS for you, but I think I was back home by the time you posted. I TOLD you it was a quick trip!!! We did discuss our trip last night and she is really looking forward to meeting you :)
BARB - It was very impromptu. Started out by texting Sam on break yesterday asking if she wanted to go see a movie...and it turned into surprising Savanah!! We did China House buffet last night (one of Savanah's favorite places) and I must say I TOTALLY blew it!! Oh well, back on the wagon today ;)
Just home from first outside pt visit. It was more talking than exercising for today. I've been given a new set of things to do at home and then I go for ot three times a week right up to the end of the year. I should be walking like a champ by that time....I hope.
Challenge doing the walker with some ice on the ground.
How are all of you sock sliding owls doing today?
Jodi, how fun that you did a last minute bday trip. Was it a surprise or did they know you were coming? It's nice that it's close enough to go for the day. I'm glad you didn't march all the way and it always makes me smile when you are marching in the nest.
Zona...you would be on the floor forever if you have socks on your hands and feet. You'd best find one for your nose too as you might have that on the floor too.
JL, do you have to turn the heat on your house ever? It sounds like it might get cold there if you are thinking of wearing gloves.....you too, Barb. I had socks on all weekend which is very unusual for me. I was all covered up too which in turn made me sleep all day yesterday.
Tink, my husband watches all those shows. He likes every crime show and I get tired of them. I've gotten away from watching tv much. I think all those political commercials made me over it!!!
Btw, congratulations of being first and most beautiful today Jodi!!
Good Afternoon One and All - This is crazy not knowing where one day ends and the next one begins. I think whoever starts the day should make a big dark line after the final comment of the day before. That's what I had my kids do with their Language Arts assignments. I guess it would be a little harder on the computer than it is in a notebook. Anyway I think it was Jodi so ----
Congrats Jodi for being first this morning. That's ok you missed me because it was the night before. (Does this make any sense at all????)
Thanks DIANNE!! LOIS knew we were coming, but it was a surprise for her daughter!! Cracks me up, we walk in and all she says to Sam is "Hi slut!!" I guess she was pleased to see us ;)
How cute, Barb. I love the ending of it. He's so darn cute. Thanks for the blog.
ReplyDeleteArea 51: thanks for the pumpkin coffee and donuts. It hits the spot. I love pumpkin anything.
It was still dark when I awoke....I thought that all changed with the time change. Guess not this early. I think my knee woke me up wanting some tylenol.
Guess I claim first today but I don't look to pretty yet.
DIANNE - You're welcome!! And quite stunning at first!!
ReplyDeleteBARB - Thanks for the video!! What a cutie patootie!!!
ReplyDeleteChange in my schedule for the day. My store leader muffed up the schedule, so I volunteered to go home at 6:30am and go back in from 10am-4pm. I really didn't have any plans, plus I had already voted last week!!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I think I'll have to load up on cawfee before Jake's wrestling match at 4:15!! Yikes!!!
BARB: So cute..thanks for the early morning smile!
ReplyDeleteDI: Good Morning pretty lady!
Hi Jodi , it's so nice to see you back on the blog again. I really missed you.
ReplyDeleteThat was nice of you to change your schedule for you boss. You are a good employee
I think I'll be napping soon as I'm awake much too early.
ZONA - Last year we pumpkin cake donuts....delicious!!! This year they put out a spicy apple cake donut. It's delicious too, but people want the pumpkin ones back!!
ReplyDeleteAgreed...it will b a very interesting day!!
DIANNE - Why thank you lady!! Feels like home ♥
ReplyDeleteHi Zona. Yes, today is the big day.....finally
ReplyDeleteI'm about to fall, asleep SOS good morning and good night.
DIANNE - p.s. take a nap for me...it's gonna b a long day ;)
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Dianne - You look beautiful to me. You should see what I see in the mirror this morning.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Jodi - Yes it's so nice to see you here early this morning.
Good Morning Zona - I must check area 51 and find out what these glazers are all about.
Barb - What a cute video. I am not American but I feel I should go out and vote.
Must feed my "fur babies" before the cleaning lady gets here in 15 minutes. See you all later.
Waving a wing at TINKA....have a great day!!
ReplyDeleteHeading back to work....:)
ReplyDeleteMorning Glories!
ReplyDeleteLike the kid says VOTE and then peepee.
LOL Very cute Barb.
Dianne you a radiant in first.
JODI: Yikes! Long day for you for sure! Spicy apple cake sounds great too..I'd be in a world of trouble if I lived near one of your stores!!
ReplyDeleteDI: SOS Good Morning and Good Night..sounds like a good name for a boat to me.. ;)
TINKA: Glazers are the best! :)
LYNN: Good Mornin' to you too!! :)
Dianne Congrats on being first today. You look beautiful today, I especially like the sprinkling of donut crumbs in your hair. ;)
ReplyDeleteHOdi Well, darn! Looks like I missed those glazer donuts. This is probably for the best as I keep getting into the leftover Fun Size Snickers and having way too much fun eating them. I'm afraid to get on the scale to see what kind of damage I've done.
ReplyDeleteZona Chilly? You haven't used that word in a while. I guess that means you finally have fall weather.
ReplyDeleteLynnD With some of the expected lines, I'd suggest going peepee before voting. ijs
ReplyDeleteSacBarb Thank you for the cute blog. That kid is adorable! I mailed my ballot in on Oct. 23 and it arrived on Oct. 25. I'm glad I have that out of the way.
ReplyDeleteHello Owls.
ReplyDeleteA friend sent me this video in an email and it cracked me up.
BBL
Hi Everyone.
ReplyDeleteBarb, I just came back from getting my nails done.
ReplyDeleteTINKA - Glazers are Kwik Trip's version of a glazed donut ala Crispy Creme.
ReplyDeleteWaving a wing at LYNN, ZONA, SLIN, BARB & DIANNE!!
ReplyDeleteGonna hunker down and watch the results come in. Have a good night HOoters ♥
HOdi You are going to be sooooo ready for your Hawaiian vacation.
ReplyDeleteDianne Did you get a Brazilian wax? ;)
ReplyDeleteJL, ummm that would be a NO but my mustache is gone.
ReplyDeleteDianne So it was mustache wax, so to speak. LOL
ReplyDeleteSo to speak. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy happy joy joy.
ReplyDeleteGoing to bed. Sweet dreams everyone.
Sweet, joyous dreams, SacBarb.
ReplyDeleteGood night DIANNE, BARB & SLIN!!
ReplyDeleteTime to go get prettied up for work ♥
Morning Glories!
ReplyDeleteThe sun is out and the birds are singing. I am going out and about today. Thought I would go out and see if any of the retailers are selling weed yet. :)
Waving at everyone!
Good morning/afternoon, depending on where you are.
ReplyDeleteHow is everyone today?
Tina, are you OK?
LynnD Medicinal marijuana is legal here but the Feds (I guess that would be DEA agents) come and raid the places selling it because it is still against federal laws. Makes no sense.
ReplyDeleteLynnD I forgot to tell you how pretty you look this morning. Your eyes seem a little bloodshot, though. LOL
ReplyDeleteSacBarb I am fine and dandy, thank you. How are you?
ReplyDeleteJ/L, I am well, thank you for asking. I have a cleaning lady here today (first time in 3 months) and while she is scrubbing the bathrooms, I am working at cleaning up some of my craft stuff so I can mess it up again making Christmas cards. I've already started.
ReplyDeleteLynn, Chad said last night he is wondering when Bartell's will start selling joints since they sell cigarettes.
ReplyDeleteLynn, you look very lovely. Good luck on that shopping trip. Lol.
Barb, we are good here. Better than a month ago, that's for sure.
JL, I think our state might be the same on pot we shall see as it just passed last night. Our governor not happy about it at al.
Guess I'd better get my butt up and moving.
Pt is over for the day and I've graduated to a walker with wheels and a little seat. Next will be a cane---yea, can't wait. It will be awhile plus I have to see what dr has to say on Friday. I so hope he is agreeing with pt.
ReplyDeleteWhat's everyone doing today? Our weather couldn't be anymore perfect. I went for a walk to the mailbox and back too. They are saying possible snow for the weekend but we sure can enjoy this weather for November
Hi Guys!
ReplyDeleteLYNN: You're going to have to get that brownie recipe from GOLDIE..js.. ;)
BARB: Good Eveennning! Got ribbon? I don't..well..I do..but it's locked up.. ;D
J/LIN: It's going to be in the 60's this weekend!!! Friday and Saturday at least..I'm going to make chili while I have that cool weather window! :D
DI: Cool that you took a walk down to the mailbox..woohoo!! :)
I have the perfect thing for you to take to the next Bronco party..BROWNIES!! You might want to contact GOLDIE too.. ;)
I seem to have brownies on my mind tonight..lol..
I hope y'all had a good day..quiet here..just the way I like it! :)
Um, everybody stopped commenting just as the election results were coming in? Weird!
ReplyDeleteOh, just noticed the dates on the comments. Never mind!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, yes, today was all happy happy joy joy! I think we averted a future filled with dark scenarios and implications and replaced it with one filled with possibilities!
ReplyDeleteDianne I'm glad you got out for a little walk today. And Yay for getting wheels, too. One step at a time, right?
ReplyDeleteWe're supposed to have rain and maybe a thunder storm on the way. I like it.
Zona I LOVE BROWNIES!!!
ReplyDeleteBear I'm with you. :)
ReplyDelete50!!!
ReplyDeleteBARB - Did you get my voicemail? Tried calling u ♥
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - you are awesome!! so proud of your progress :)
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I hope you have a special day ♥
ZONA - We have a new cookie at our store. Deluxe Brownie Cookies. They even have chocolate chips in them. But I think they would b even better with GOLDIE'S "special" touch ;)
ReplyDeleteBEAR!!! Exactly!!! :)
ReplyDeleteSLIN - Have a great night lady!! Muah ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks Jodi. I appreciate it
ReplyDeleteLYNN - Didn't mean to miss u....*waving*!!!
ReplyDeleteTINA - Hope you are having a good week :)
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - You're welcome!!
ReplyDelete60!!!
ReplyDeleteBest get to work....will check in on break ♥
ReplyDeleteJodi, can I say again that I love seeing you back in the nest everyday. It warms my heart.
ReplyDeleteGood morning 7 am owls.
ReplyDeleteDI: Ahem...mi..mi..mi..
ReplyDelete♫Happy Birthday to you..Happy Birthday to you..Happy Birthday dear DI...Happy Birthday to you..and many morrrrrrre!!!!♫
oh..and just for fun..
♫Red Solo cup♫ :D
I hope you have a great day pretty lady!! ♥♥
MOrning Glories!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to sweet Dianne!
Dianne Happy Birthday! I hope you have a wonderful day. Are there any special plans today?
ReplyDeleteZona Supposedly, we have rain on the way. I'm trying to decide if I should stay home and be lazy or go out and be productive in some way. My lazy side is currently winning that debate.
ReplyDeleteLynnD I have to admit, some of those peeps with Rxs for medical marijuana really don't look like it is legit, although it is certainly legit and helpful for many cases. I think legalizing recreational marijuana makes sense.
ReplyDeleteJL---not very nice that you took the 69 on my birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteGreetings Owls.
ReplyDeleteJ/L, it is raining here now.
Happy Birthday Dianne. Have a good one.
ReplyDeleteDianne Ooops! So sorry. That was thoughtless of me. You were probably wearing your party hat, too.
ReplyDeleteSacBarB Maybe you just need a new battery. I've had to replace mine once.
ReplyDeleteTinka Waving my wing at you. I hope all is well with you.
ReplyDeleteTina I hope you are okay.
ReplyDeleteJ/L, I went to the Apple store when I was in San Diego in Oct. and they checked my battery. They said it was OK. Then they told me to delete some stuff on my phone that I don't use and I did that, but it's still acting up. I think the universe is telling me to buy a new phone. I think the universe gets a kick-back from Apple. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY DIANNE!!
ReplyDeletei hope you are having a super duper birthday!
SacBarb LOL @ Apple getting a kick-back from the universe. I think you're right.
ReplyDeleteMO Waving a wing at you! I hope you are warm and cozy in your neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteHi Everyone.....thanks for all the birthday wishes today. We are ordering from Outback for dinner tonight. I'm having a steak salad. I've never had that from there before but thought it would be easier to eat at home and I'm kind of hungry for something fresh.
ReplyDeleteI went for my daily walk today and drug Louis along with me.
PS... JL, I did have my party hat on. Dang it.
ReplyDeleteDianne Your steak salad sounds very good. Did you order dessert, too?
ReplyDeleteIt's been raining off and on since this afternoon. We had some hail for a while, too. I just ordered a wedge salad, minestrone soup, and garlic cheese bread and am waiting for it to be delivered.
ReplyDeleteJL, that salad was good. Louis had a chicken one. It was nice to eat something fresh and not pasta. We've been eating a lot of pasta this week.
ReplyDeleteYour dinner sounds good too.
ReplyDeleteJ/L, your dinner sounds good, too.
ReplyDeleteDianne Even the nicer restaurants will prepare something for you to pick up. You don't have to eat only fast food.
ReplyDeleteSacBarb Suprisingly, I found the soup to be bland.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to start checking around for places other than fast food. I have made a new personal rule not to eat fast food, except Subway, because they have somewhat healthy stuff and I can control the fat.
ReplyDeleteGood night and sweet dreams everyone.
ReplyDeleteSweet dreams, Barb.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Everyone....
ReplyDeleteI'm waking up reading Barb and JL's food talk and already making me hungry. Lol
Today is dr today at 11am. I'm so hoping everything is going along like the pt guy and I think. Just more pt and I'll be good.
I know most of the restaurants have special parking even for pickup. I'm going to try and do that more too. It was nice to a good dinner last night.
What's on everyone's agenda for today and the weekend? Hope some fun things.
Good Morning Dianne - How was your birthday? I went to the Outback in Cincinnati. I loved the Bloomin' Onion.
ReplyDeleteWe are up late and just having breakfast. It's a nice sunny day so I will be going to the park with my "fur babies".
Have a great day everyone.
Good morning Dianne and all who fly in later.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you're Dr. appointment will go well today.
Good job!
ReplyDeleteTinka I hope you enjoy your walk today. Right now we have some blue sky but I think we expect more rain and maybe some thunder storms.
ReplyDeleteSacBarb I think you will be fine at dinner if you avoid the fried stuff. Most of the foods will be primarily vegetables and the sauce won't be that bad, really. You can google a few options ahead of time and get an idea of what the calorie count is on some common dishes.
ReplyDeleteLast July when I was visiting SacBArb, I hurt my left shoulder and it has never stopped hurting. My pain-free movement is limited so I've finally made a doctor appointment for next Wednesday to see what's going on. At the moment, I can't imagine that I would want to have surgery if that is recommended.
ReplyDelete100!!!
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon DIANNE, TINKA, BARB & SLIN!!
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - I hope your appt went well!!
ReplyDeleteTINKA - I hope you had fun at the park :)
ReplyDeleteBARB - Enjoy the dinner. I'm sure you will find something!!
ReplyDeleteSLIN - I hope you get good news at your appt!!
ReplyDeleteJ/L, I'm sorry your shoulder is still hurting. It's good that you're going to the doctor to see what's wrong. I hope you don't need surgery, but if you do, you shouldn't put it off. The longer you wait, the more damage you can do. Sincerely, Dr. Barb. ;-)
ReplyDeleteChili's on!!!
ReplyDelete..and I remembered to take the foil off the ground meat before I cooked it! WooHoo!!
JODI: Yummmmmmm...again! :D
ZONA - Chili sounds great!!
ReplyDeleteOh JL, how did you hurt your shoulder? I'm glad you're going to the dr. It wasn't the night the three of you went pole dancing, was it? I thought up I told you that could hurt you!!! And......I don't know if your insurance will cover that or not. Maybe you need to change your story to the dr. Hope it will be okay.
ReplyDeleteDr Barb, are you related to Dr Zona?
ReplyDeleteMy niece just left from a visit and she said she couldn't believe how good I was walking and even so much better than before the surgery so that was encouraging as I see her a lot and she would notice.
Yay!
ReplyDeleteZona You're welcome for the weather. You could thank me with some of that chili....ijs.
ReplyDeleteHOdi Don't eat all of Zona's chili as I want some, too, please.
ReplyDeleteDianne You're doing great! Just follow doctor's new orders and you'll do even better.
ReplyDeleteDianne, Did the Dr. say why your leg isn't straightening as much as he thinks it should? I had the opposite problem with my first knee surgery. I couldn't bend it past 80 degrees after almost 3 months. He said it was scar tissue that formed that was preventing it, so they took me back in the hospital and put me to sleep and he bent the crap (his word) out of my leg to break the scar tissue. It worked and when I woke up I could bent to 110 degrees. That's probably not your problem though. Hopefully, in two weeks it will all be good.
ReplyDeleteBarb, no he didn't say. Probably because I'm not straightening enough. I had the same problem as you in the first leg I couldn't bend it but they never did the scar tissue deal on me. It's probably why I've always had trouble with the knee.
ReplyDeleteI'm not totally discouraged as I know I'm doing so much better than I did last time.
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - The popcorn was sooooooo good!! I restricted myself to a medium bag, because you KNOW I could've finished off a large!!
ReplyDeleteBARB - Any big plans for the weekend? And I can't wait to see what you have cooking up for your Christmas card this year. They are always stunning!!
ReplyDelete120!!!
ReplyDeleteAs some of you read on fb I am a "Grandma" for the weekend!! My son Tim's turn with the "health baby". I was a little concerned being that it is my weekend to work. I don't know how he did it, but he's staying at his buddy Alex's house. I can't imagine the trouble that is causing for Alex's poor mother!!
ReplyDeleteJodi, do you think Tim will talk Alex's Mom into taking care of the baby?
ReplyDeleteJ/L, I'm so jealous that you are going to Hawaii and get to spend time with the 'girls.'
ReplyDeleteBARB -I know his Mom, and no!! Would b hilarious to see how they have that poor baby rigged up tho ;)
ReplyDeleteJust pulled into work. have a great day!!!
125!!!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a cool clear morning here..I'm lovin' that the temps have finally come down!
Have a great Saturday!
Waving at everyone!
ReplyDeleteI hope you everyone has nice plans for the weekend.
One foot in front of the other and all that.
Waving at Jodi, Zona, Barb, and Tinka.
Good morning, HOoters! Well, this is seriously getting scary. I am very worried about Tina. Has anyone heard from her? I emailed her but got no response.
ReplyDeleteI am up early today as I will be meeting my daughter at our favorite Mexican restaurant for lunch. I will be giving her her birthday present. She just turned 40 on the 1st.
Hello feathered friends!
ReplyDeleteSorry I am so absent around here.
Good Morning Everyone.
ReplyDeleteJL, I have emailed Tina and not heard back either.
ReplyDeleteJUST LIN...so sorry about your shoulder. I hope PT can help you and no surgery will be needed. So excited (and jealous) for your Hawaiian Vacy and the chance to meet up with our feathered friends.
ReplyDeleteBARB...Don't worry too much about the Buffet. If you make some bad choices, then make better ones the following day. Enjoy the celebration.
ReplyDeleteZONA...chili...yummmm! And congratulations about remembering about the foil! You foiled a potential disaster! hahahaha
ReplyDeleteLYNN..when you quit smoking did you do it cold turkey? I think I am going to quit and I need all the advice and encouragement I can get!
ReplyDeleteWaiting for Mr. Lynn D to get his arse in gear. I hate waiting. I think I am so crabby because I am spotting. I have not had a period in months and I feel like I want to kick the crap out of someone.
ReplyDeleteJ/L I am worried a bit about Tina too.
You can do it!!!
LYNN...thanks! I hope I can. I was thinking of using those fake cigarettes, so I can still have something in my hand.
ReplyDeleteMO This is how I did it after 42 yrs of smoking and a habit that was close to 2 packs a day.
ReplyDelete1.
JUST LIN...thanks! Maybe I will try the lozenges as well.
ReplyDeleteI hope that my desire to please people will also help, as I won't want to be a failure! I think that is why I am saying it out loud!
Time to say bye bye.
ReplyDeleteHope to be back sooner then later.
But in the meantime...
BE WELL.
And extra {{{hugs}} for TINA
Happy Saturday Owls.
ReplyDeleteWell, I didn't do too badly at the Chinese restaurant last night.
Thanks for all the encouragement.
Good luck in your endeavor Mo. I know you can do it and I'm sure it will be hard. These hardship things to change are sure not fun, are they? Too bad we couldn't just wiggle our nose and it would be done....whatever we wanted done!!
ReplyDeleteLynn, please try not to kick the cramp out of anyone today. Our bail money is low and we are saving it for Hawaii...as you know we will need plenty.
My nephew used the fake cigs and succeeded.
Mo, you got some good advice from the former smokers. Chad quit smoking after he had his first heart attack and he used a prescription medication that he said worked well. I can't remember what the name is, but I think it began with a "w."
ReplyDeleteLynn and J/L, congrats to both of you for successfully quiting.
MO: LOL!! I did..didn't I? :D
ReplyDeleteI know you can quit smoking MO..I don't have one little doubt in my little ol' mind that you can do it!! :)
J/LIN: It amazes and sickens me that cigarette companies can put the things they do into their product..it really does..
DI: No nap so far!! I didn't have to listen to rehearsal though..so that may be why.. ;)
LYNN: I hope that that kick the crap outta someone feeling has passed! SWAK!!
BARB: LOL @ convincing yourself about the peanut sauce..I wonder if that would work for me during the holidays? ;)
Yikes! Blogger gave me the boot big time..told me I couldn't post! It didn't even have anything to do with my phone number this time! I was persistent though and they finally let me in..whew.. :)
ReplyDeleteMO I know you can do it, too. I said it out loud to my mother who quit at the same time. Five years later she was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer so it was too late to save her but she was hoping I quit in time to avoid that. She smoked for 20 years longer than I did.
ReplyDeleteSacBarb You did great at that Chinese buffet! Your poop tactic worked well for you. LOL
ReplyDeleteZona I was wondering if Barb's poop tactic would work for me during the holiday, too. Somehow, though, I don't think I could ever look at a piece of chocolate fudge and think of it ina any other way than yummy.
ReplyDeleteHi...I'm still hungry even with all of you talking about poop!!!
ReplyDeleteNot much on our dinner menu tonight.
Brrr cold.
150
ReplyDeleteI couldn't get on today so now that I can connect I just wanted to check in and say I am still here. There is no way I can comment on everyone's post but I did read them and I send warm thoughts and hope everyone is safe, well and without pain. I must give Tia her insulin shot and then it's bedtime. I will try and do a better job tomorrow. Love, Tinka
ReplyDeleteTinka Sweet dreams.
ReplyDeleteDianne Have Louis stop by a Chinese restaurant and get green beans for you.
ReplyDeleteI heard on the news that a flight from Oakland slid off your runway there in Denver while it was taxiing to the gate. Icy, I guess.
JL, I just heard that too. I guess it's raining with a little snow and freezing.
ReplyDeleteI just Louis a text to go by jack in the box and surprise me with two tacos. We don't have those by our house but he is over by my brothers and they do. Now I hope he sees his text.
Tink, have a good sleep. What r u watching on DVD tonight?
Dianne Now I wish I had a couple of tacos. LOL
ReplyDeleteJL, just polished them off. They were good. I always wonder what that filling/meat is in jack in the box tacos but probably better not to know.
ReplyDeleteGooooood Merrrrrrrrrrnin'!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like Tim got off easy last night...his baby "slept" from 11:30pm til 5am!!
ReplyDeleteLYNN - Have fun at the shower today. How did it go at your Dad's?
ReplyDeleteSLIN - You are too young to have a daughter that old!!!
ReplyDeleteMOHO - Good for you!! I know I should, but I can't wanta!!
ReplyDeleteBARB - Sounds like you were successful at the buffet!! Way to go lady ♥
ReplyDeleteTINA....paging WHORETINA!!!
ReplyDeleteZONA - Jake and I were out shopping yesterday. He was in need of new shoes (he's killing me here!!!), but I found the cutest socks at Kohls. You know, the extra soft fuzzy ones....and could totally picture you zipping across the floor!!
ReplyDeleteTINKA - Waving at you!! I hope you and Jack have a nice Sunday ♥
ReplyDeleteleft, left, left, right, left....
ReplyDeleteleft, left, left, right, left....
ReplyDeleteleft, left, left, right, left....
ReplyDelete169!!!!
ReplyDeleteAaaaahhhh!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday HOoters ♥
Greetings from my break at work this morning!!
ReplyDeleteAnd a big thank you to all veterans today <3
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Owls - We are celebrating Remembrance Day today which I guess is the equivalent of your Veterans's Day. We all wear poppies and there are ceremonies in every city at 11:00 am. I have never attended but I always watch it on tv. It never fails to bring tears. All those lives cut short so that we can be free.
ReplyDeleteWishing everyone a safe Veteran's/Remembrance Day.
Happy Veterans Day and Remembrance Day!
ReplyDeleteGood morning, HOdi and Tinka.
ReplyDeleteI was gong to change my avatar pic but I can't figure out how to do it. It used to be that we just had to click on our avatar pic and an edit option would come up but that doesn't happen now. Does anyone know how to change it?
NEVER MIND. I'm embarrassed to say that I now see the edit button on the opposite side of the screen from where it used to be. Duh!
ReplyDeleteMy father lied about his age and joined the US Navy when he was 17 so he could fight in World War II.
ReplyDeleteDianne made me go get two tacos last night. When I drove around the corner, a deer ran out from between parked cars and ran across the street in front of me. I'm sure glad I wasn't driving fast.
ReplyDeleteWhew close call JL. I'm glad you were okay with the deer incident. I'm always ver afraid of deer and elk on the roads. Hope you enjoyed those tacos as much as I did!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Veterans/Remembrence day to everyone that has served for us.
ReplyDeleteJust_Lin - You sure were lucky with that deer.
Good morning HOooters!!! Having cawfee with LOIS this morning!!
ReplyDeleteSLIN - What a handsome pic of your Dad! Glad u r ok. I hate this time of year when the deer r running!
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - I would have watched the game, but Sam and I decided to surprise LOIS' daughter with a quick trip down to the sticks :). Her 18 th birthday was on Saturday!! Way to go Broncos!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Guys!!
ReplyDeleteBusy..well sort-of weekend for us..lots to do..but that doesn't mean we did it all..js.. ;) After all the driving we did to get the best price on a computer program..I'm ready to give in and start..yes I said start..lol..shopping on the Internet!
Have a good day everyone!
HOdi Say "hello" to Lois for me. Looking forward to meeting her. It sounds like you had a fun weekend.
ReplyDeleteZona It wasn't my feet that were cold this weekend but I could not get my hands to warm up. I was actually considering putting gloves on in the house. I didn't, though. Maybe I should have put fuzzy socks on my hands. LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday Owls.
ReplyDeleteJodi, an impromptu trip, how fun.
J/LIN: Fuzzy socks on your hands? I LOVE IT!! Of course if I did that while sock slidin' and fell I might never get up..js.. :D
ReplyDeleteHI BARB!
J/LIN: I'm giggling at the thought of me trying to get up with fuzzy socks on my hands and feet..I'd just keep falling down..and no..it probably wouldn't occur to me to take them off.. ;D
ReplyDeleteZONA - Yes.....bouncing and fist pumpin' all the way!! O M G....found the best fuzzy socks at Kohl's today (stopped in Janesville on the way home). Knee high argyle!!! I am so getting them :)
ReplyDeleteSLIN - I would've greeted LOIS for you, but I think I was back home by the time you posted. I TOLD you it was a quick trip!!! We did discuss our trip last night and she is really looking forward to meeting you :)
ReplyDeleteBARB - It was very impromptu. Started out by texting Sam on break yesterday asking if she wanted to go see a movie...and it turned into surprising Savanah!! We did China House buffet last night (one of Savanah's favorite places) and I must say I TOTALLY blew it!! Oh well, back on the wagon today ;)
ReplyDeleteTINA - Have you fallen and can't get up?
ReplyDeleteTINKA -Thank you!! Rather proud of the fact that I can still march!! So sorry I missed posting to you this morning. I hope u r having a good Monday!!
ReplyDeleteJust home from first outside pt visit. It was more talking than exercising for today. I've been given a new set of things to do at home and then I go for ot three times a week right up to the end of the year. I should be walking like a champ by that time....I hope.
ReplyDeleteChallenge doing the walker with some ice on the ground.
Anyway I think it was Jodi so ----
ReplyDeleteCongrats Jodi for being first this morning. That's ok you missed me because it was the night before. (Does this make any sense at all????)
Zona, my BFF - I can't picture you with fuzzy socks on your hands and feet. Living in Arizona I only see you wearing a string bikini. You look lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks DIANNE!! LOIS knew we were coming, but it was a surprise for her daughter!! Cracks me up, we walk in and all she says to Sam is "Hi slut!!" I guess she was pleased to see us ;)
ReplyDelete199....
ReplyDelete200!!!
