For Tinka
It is the 40th Anniversary of Elvis’
Aloha from Hawaii concert. I vaguely
remember my Mom watching it. It truly
was a big deal back in 1973. Broadcast via
satellite to over one billion viewers worldwide. How many of you remember watching? Hard to believe that just 4 years later we
would lose such an awesome performer.
Enjoy ♥
Morning Everyone at a bright 7am. Jodi, good blog but I don't remember seeing this show. I don't know if I'm just forgetting in my old age or what. It was sad to lose him at such a young age. Thanks for the blog.
ReplyDeleteJodi..area 51....I know you feel my pain for the quick end to our football season. We sure get involved in these games every Sunday and now it's going to be boring!!!
Ok, I'm going back to sleep now for a couple of hours.
Morning Glories!
ReplyDeleteDianne you are beautiful at first!
I do remember this because anything Elvis we had to watch in our house. LOL
Well Seahawks, Broncos, and Green bay are out of the running. My husband is so disappointed about the Seahawks but it was a great Season.
Waving a wing at everyone!
Thanks Jodi. I wanted to go to that concert so badly but they wouldn't give me time off school.
ReplyDeleteI watched it and loved it. I bought the video when it came out so I have seen it many many times.
It was Elvis' 78th birthday last Tuesday.
I would love to go to Graceland again.
Good Morning to All Owls. Hope you are now well. Our family has had its share of colds and flu too. I guess it's everywhere.
Zona - Loved the song yesterday but most days my. fingers just don't like typing. I hate having arthritis but I guess it comes with turning 39 too many times.
I have two appointments this month with the eye specialists. My right eye is about the same as it was but I am nervous about what may happen soon.
Wishing you all a great week. Love, Tinka
JODI: I remember watching this special with my family. We were so excited that it was on TV because that was the only way we were ever going to get to see an Elvis concert. Great song..great video..thank you!
ReplyDeleteDI: Hellllooo Gorgeous! No laundry, dusting or shredding to do today..can't sock slide til I'm sure my back is ok..what to do what to do? ;D
LYNN: Randy loves the Cardinals..but I think he is so used to them losing..he kinda just goes with the flow. As of right now..looks like next season might not be that much different.
TINKA: It's so hard for me to believe Elvis would have been 78 years old..I guess we will always see him as eternally young.
I hope everything will be ok with your eye..I'll keep praying for you. ♥
And awaaaay I go..have a good day everyone!
Dianne You look beautiful in first today. I bet you took extra care in fixing your hair today.
ReplyDeleteThe 49ers play Atlanta this weekend. We are favored to win but you never know. I may be on the wailing branch along with you, HOdi, and Mr. LynnD.
Tina Thanks for the Elvis song today. So handsome! I was a big Elvis fan as a young teen and continue to think he had a wonderful voice and was quite a showman. 1973 was a very bad and stressful time for me so I don't remember seeing this on tv when it originally aired. I have seen it since, though.
ReplyDeleteLynnD Maybe Mr.LynnD could use a break at the beach, too. Are you still going to go?
ReplyDeleteTinka It was so nice to see you here today. I am still keeping my fingers crossed that you have significant improvement with your eyes.
ReplyDeleteTime for me to step away from the computer. I have an appointment with the PT today.
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - Well aren't you pretty at #1!!! With working every other weekend, my Sunday are never boring. Trust me!! Although I will miss hollering for our guys. I hope you were able to get some more sleep :)
ReplyDeleteLYNN - Tell your hubby I was disappointed that the Seahawks lost, too. After the Packers were out, I was hoping that your QB would go all the way!! (Russell Wilson was our shining star QB at Wisconsin!!)
ReplyDeleteTINKA - You are welcome!! When I saw online that this was the 40th Anniversary I knew that you would love this video!! Still sending healing thoughts and prayers for your eyes.
ReplyDeleteZONA - Had a feeling you had watched and REMEMBERED it!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteSLIN - Kinda fell for your team back when Joe Montana played. *changing out tassels for this weekend*
ReplyDeleteOk Jodi, I guess I'll change my tassels for the weekend too. I mean we do have to support our owl friends. It will still be hard though. I'm not recovered yet.
ReplyDeleteJust got home from pt. my numbers were not very good today. It's been almost a week since I was there but I'm doing my bike at home. Mondays are just never good for me. I think I've hit a wall as nothing seems to change much anymore.
Yes JL, I combed and curled my hair special today. Good thing I go in this week as grey is popping up.
Zona, what did you end up doing today? Maybe u are huddling under your Raider blanket.
Lynn, I'm kind of at the point uour husband is right now. I guess we all need to head to the beach.
Tink, thinking about and hoping you get better soon. Miss you on the daily blog. It's great to see you today.
Jodi, great vid! I never get tired of hearing him.
ReplyDeleteTinka, so good to see you! I will keep you in my prayers.
Zona, tell Randy we have the "biggest losers" lol Det. Lions!!
Justlin, I will be rooting for the Atlanta Falcons since my sister lives in Georgia. Personally I really don't care except for the numbers in my football pool hee hee!
Lynnd, The special was during and close to the end of my first marriage. I was busy trying to make a living and taking care of my two boys.I almost missed the whole "hippie" era lol!!
HOdi Thanks for switching out the tassels. We can use all the good mojo we can get.
ReplyDeleteDianne Thanks for wearing our color of tassels, too. If we make it to the Super Bowl, I will need you to root for them extra hard as I'm sure I will be too busy in Hawaii and not watching the game.
ReplyDeleteMary Understood. Family first. May the best team win.
ReplyDeleteI had pt today, too, and she is very happy with how much range of motion I have regained in my shoulder. Almost 100% at this point. She worked more on my hip today and that was a big ouch. I did a little clothes shopping after that and my hip was really bothering me when I had to walk any distance at all. :(
ReplyDeleteI hate shopping, by the way, but I did find two tops I like. One may go to Hawaii but they will probably both go on my cruise in June. I rewarded myself with a dinner at Red Lobster. The lobster was delicious!
ReplyDeleteWhere are you cruising in June? I'm so glad your shoulder is so much better. 100% great report. Hope they can help hip too I find I do most of my shopping online anymore. Once in awhile I cruise through Wakmart ot Target but for clothes I shop Catherine's online.
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - Just keep working it. You will get there :)
ReplyDeleteMARY - lol @ your biggest losers!! I guess I don't mind laughing considering you're a Stinky Bears fan ;P
ReplyDeleteI've been listening to his music all weekend. What a voice, those eyes, that smirk, those hips!! sigh!!! He truly was at the top of his game at that concert!
SLIN - Can't wait to see what you found on our trip!! Great job on the shoulder :)
ReplyDeleteDianne I'd say my shoulder is at 90% now. It still hurts to put my arm behind me to hook my bra but I can raise it straight up now. I can't yet move it farther than straight up like I can with my other arm but it is soooo much more than I could do before.
ReplyDeleteIn June, my daughter and I are flying to London and staying there a few days before taking a cruise that visits the scandinavian countries and spends two days in St. Petersburg Russia. It goes to Germany, Amsterdam, Lithuania, Estonia Latvia, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark. It's a two week cruise.
HOdi I really couldn't find what I was looking for for Hawaii. I might bring one of the two tops I bought today and wear it the first night. I'm not sure.
ReplyDeleteSLIN - Your trip/cruise sounds fabulous!! I haven't really bought anything specifically for our trip, except for the Birkies that I found on QVC. Crap!! That reminds me....must start breaking them in!!
ReplyDeleteGetting prettied up for work. Thank you for all the comments today ♥
ReplyDeleteHOdi Yikes! I accidentally thanked Tina for the blog today. Sorry! Thank you for the Elvis vid. He is still and always will be the King.
ReplyDeleteTina Thanks for keeping the blog going.
