Church Changes

by Dianne

A young monk arrives at the monastery. He is assigned to helping the other monks in copying the old canon laws of the church by hand.

He notices, however, that all of the monks are copying from copies, not from the original manuscript. So, the new monk goes to the head abbot to question this, pointing out that if someone made even a small error in the first copy, it would never be picked up! In fact, that error would be continued in all of the subsequent copies.

The head monk, says, "We have been copying from the copies for centuries, but you make a good point, my son."

He goes down into the dark caves underneath the monastery where the original manuscripts are held as archives in a locked vault that hasn't been opened for hundreds of years.
Hours go by and nobody sees the old abbot . . .

So, the young monk gets worried and goes down to look for him. He sees him banging his head against the wall and wailing.

"We missed the
R ! We missed the R!  We missed the R!"

His forehead is all bloody and bruised and he is crying uncontrollably. The young monk asks the old abbot, "What's wrong, father?"

With A choking voice, the old abbot replies, "The word was...

"CELEBRATE !!! "

  1. Happy Friday.

Dianne, I don't think there is a Catholic that hasn't heard this but it is funny every time.

I hope you are having a good day.

  2. SacBarb You are looking absolutely beautiful today. How's that situation next door to you?

It's cold and gray and breezy here today but I saw some robins in my willow tree. Spring is on the way.

  4. Hi Barb...I still think its funny too. Boy, late slow blog today. I think you look really pretty at first today regardless of the time.

I had a luncheon today and the food wasn't very good. It's a place I go fairly often and they changed the lunch menu. I then went to Walmart with a long list and actually found everything ...I mean everything....I was looking for...like bathroom rugs, etc. I thought I'd be going to Target after Walmart but nope...didn't have to.

Expecting big darn snowstorm tonight and all day tomorrow. I don't want to be snowed in again.

Guess what??? I'm going to actually turn on my oven and cook? We are going to a friends for dinner tomorrow night and I'm going to MAKE a dessert. Guess I'll have to dust the old oven off :)

Hope you all have a good rest of the day. JODI..where are you? MARY, JL...EVERYONE HELLO

  6. Here I am Dianne!
    Funny blog!
After I got my teeth nice and clean Jim wanted to go to the American Legion for the Lenten Fish fry. It is very popular. We had a hard time finding a place to park, then had to wait outside in a long line to get in. Good thing it wasn't too cold out!
Finally settled in for the night.

  7. Mary LMAO at the thought of Dianne in Walmart in her pajamas and butt crack showing. Priceless!

Glad you made it into the fish fry without freezing your ta-tas off.

  8. Dianne Oh, boy! You're going to bake! What are you going to make?

I haven't done much of anything today except go out to breakfast. Yesterday I carried a large bag of dog food incorrectly and today I am having random stabbing pains in my back if I move the wrong way. Therefore, I have an excuse to be lazy and not do much today.

  9. Justlin. You have to be careful with what you lift! I am guilty of that too! Every time I lift anything heavy, even a grocery bag, the weight seems to "scrunch" my knee and causes a lot of pain. It goes away in a day, but hurts like a mofo til then!
