~ Wait, Why Can't You Use Phones On Planes Again? ~
Well, what a delightful young lady lol! Personally I don't care to hear peeps conversations when I am sitting so close to them. Texting would be cool though :)
I've been out getting stuff that's compatible with AUS electricity. So I have a hair hair dryer and curling iron. I also found a suitcase that weighs only 3.8 lbs. So I can start packing soon.
Waving a wing to Dianne, J/L, Mary, Jodi and everyone else out there.
I'm here.....been out and about all day. Had my flu shot and it was time to renew my pneumonia shot, went to bank, car wash, gas, WW, and lunch..whew. Got home about 6 tonight and even did a load of wash..oh yea, ordered my Christmas cards.
Tina...funny video. I think we can all stay off cells for an airplane ride. I don't care to listen to people talk either.
Boy Barb, that's a light suitcase. You can pack a lot lol. Going to theater tomorrow night to see Sister Act. It should be good.
Finally caught up on DWTS Tonight. I had to miss it Monday night for the game.
DIANNE - Sounds like you had a productive day!! Enjoy the show! We have had highs in the 70's this week, but cooling down really fast after the sun sets. I love this time of year :D
Been a busy week here. I'm attending the Madison Scouts 75th Anniversary celebration this weekend. A couple of gals that I met in Indianapolis found themselves in quite a pickle early this week. Another Scout Mom had invited their sons to fly into Milwaukee because it was closer to her. She would pick them up at the airport, let them stay at her house, and get them to the big party in Madison. Long story short, she has gone back on her invitation. So, I've been helping get these boys to Madison and back to Milwaukee for their flights home on Sunday. My Uncle Kenny is in Milwaukee and I had already made plans to go visit him on Friday, so I'm heading out to the airport to pick one of the guys up. The other boy is taking Badger Bus to Madison late Friday night. I will be taking one of the boys back to Milwaukee some time in the middle of the night/early Sunday morning. His flight leaves at 6am and there wasn't any buses that would get him there in time. My friend Adam just got a job at the Madison Airport, but lives in Milwaukee, so he is taking the other boy back with him at noon on Sunday. These are good boys and I really like their Moms! I felt so bad about that other Mom pulling this crap! Thankfully I had taken Sunday off as a vacation day and also have my regular Monday off. I think I will need a nap ;)
Barb Good job on getting the light-weight suitcase. I should consider doing that at some point. During my last trip with my daughter, I borrowed a friend's set of plug adapters. It had different adapters for different parts of the world. I only needed the one for England as I didn't need any for the ship.
Dianne I really want to see "Prisoners". "Rush" is also supposed to be excellent and very suspenseful. I think the Sandra Bullock movie, "Gravity" looks interesting, too. All the good movies coming out during this season so they will be remembered at Oscar nomination time.
DIANNE - I still need to see The Butler, but WOZ is only out in IMAX for a week. It will be so cool to not only see it on a huge screen, but in 3D, too!!
Jodi, You're such a good Samaritan. Your story reminds me of when we were in Little League and the Western Regional Championships for the 16-18 year old kids were held here in Sac. Our area Little League volunteered to house the kids and each family was scheduled to take two kids for a week. On the day we were to pick up the kids, one of the families dropped out and my very generous Hubby brought four 17 year old boys home with him. We only had Dean who was 11 and Chad who was 10 months old at the time. They were really good kids too, but I couldn't believe how much teenagers ate and they all drank about a gallon of milk a day. It was good practice for us for what was to become our life after our third son was born. LOL
J/L, I bought my suitcase at Costco. It is a set of three and I plan on taking the middle one. I am only taking clothes for about 10 days and I will wash clothes at the condos. I usually over pack and end up not wearing some of the clothes I pack, so I don't want to schlep a heavy suitcase filled with stuff I'm not gonna use. This will be the first time I won't take a different outfit for each day, but since we are going to be gone for a month, I'm sure I wouldn't even be able to lift a suitcase with that many clothes in it.
Dianne, I have seen Chris Hemsley who stars in Rush promoting his movie on almost every talk show. He is a real HUNK and just to see him would be reason to see the movie even though I'm not crazy about car racing. Also, Ron Howard directed so it should be good.
I just got back from WOZ. Wow!! What a stunning movie on the big screen. It truly touched me all over again. I even shed a few tears at the end when Dorothy says goodbye to Scarecrow. DIANNE is u get a chance, it is totally worth the price of admission at IMAX!!!
Hi Everyone.......what's new? Went with three girlfriends up to the mountain town of Georgetown to listen a old friend singing at a little restaurant. It was good food and good music. It was raining as we started and was snowing up there by the time we got up,there. Brr. Cold and pretty. I didn't have to drive so it was even nicer.
Barb, I hadn't heard of the movie Rush. Sandra Bullock is on Leno tonight for her new movie Gravity. It looks pretty good. Wow, gone for a whole month. That's a long time.
Jodi...on the road again. Have a good time this weekend. Glad you enjoyed the movie. I guess I missed out on it. I will still check and see if its playing any more around here.
JL, have any more trips planned? Idlike to go to Texas and hang out with my cousins for a week or so but I'm just too scared of their three cats so probably won't go this year. They are coming to visit in October for a couple of days anyway.
Sister Act show was a great show last night. I'd forgotten the storyline so that was good and the music terrific!!
HOdi Sounds like you've had a good day. You're always on the go, it seems. I did go to work today and also took myself out to dinner, but nothing else much happened today.
J/L,I am starting to get excited and a little nervous, too. I think I have narrowed down the clothes I am taking. I have them hanging in the spare bedroom on a thingy that I hang clothes to dry. I hardly ever put my clothes in he dryer. I don't want to fold them up until right before I leave. Hopefully they won't get too wrinkled.
Waving to Dianne, Jodi, Mary and whoever else is lurking out there.
My Uncle Jerry was fishing yesterday up north in Hayward, WI and either had a stroke or a heart attack. He fell out of the boat, but didn't struggle, and now they can't find his body. I called my cousin Amy from the event I was at last night. She and her hubby were on their way up there (it's a 5 hour drive) and said they had stopped the search because it had gotten dark. They will resume searching in the morning. Jerry is my Godfather and we also share the same birthday. I still can't wrap my head around this....
I knew it was magic ;-). This still makes me LMBO!! Thanks for posting it TINA!!

ReplyDeleteDIANNE - I'm thinking of going to see The Wizard of Oz at the IMAX today. Wish we could go together!
ReplyDeleteJodi...did you ever see The Butler? Go and see it first. I want to see Prisioners with Hugh Jackman but all go to WOZ with you too.
ReplyDeleteWow, sounds like you had to do some figuring out for these boys very nice of you and helpful.

Dianne You're afraid of kitties? I once had 40. I guess that would amount to a house of horrors for you. LOL
