Call a Doctor......

by Dianne

A Baptist pastor was presenting a children's sermon. During the sermon, he asked the children if they knew what the resurrection was.

Now, asking questions during children's sermons is crucial, but at the
same time, asking children questions in front of a congregation can also be very dangerous.

Having asked the children if they knew the meaning of the
resurrection, a little boy raised his hand........

The pastor called on him and the little boy said, “I know that if you have a resurrection that lasts more than four hours you are supposed to call the doctor.”

It took over ten minutes for the congregation to settle down enough for the service to continue.

  1. Dianne Good morning! Thanks for the joke today. No construction going on today. Not sure what to do with myself. LOL Guy who's building my front porch can't come back to finish railing until next week. I need to figure out colors to paint house but now I'm thinking I should probably get a new garage door and if I'm going to do that, I should do it before painting. One thing leads to another, doesn't it?

  2. Dianne, "Out of the mouths of babes" is so true! They are so unpredictable, but always good for a laugh. Thanks for that!

  3. J/L, You are so right about one thing leading to another. I almost hate to start something, knowing that it will mean other things will need to be done. I am in total denial now about some repairs I should have done. What color are you thinking of painting your house?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Barb I was in denial for a long time. Mostly because I didn't want to part with the money. Now I seem to be on a roll. I've been looking at earth tone combinations.

  5. Hello gals!
I would kill for even a 3 minute res-erection right now lol!!!

I went to my Chiro today. My whole body has been invaded by aches and pains. Prolly all the snow shoveling, closet cleaning, lifting, yada yada yada! He said "you WILL be back here Monday" LOL! Yes sir! I came home and helped my son move fallen tree limbs from the earlier ice storms and high winds. We barley made a dent! Many large branches had to be cut by the chain saw so we could lift them!

I have been having excruciating pain on the heel of my foot. I sure hope it clears up before my trip! Jim thinks it could be a bone spur. Oye vey I am falling apart! I sound like an old lady complaining about all my ailments...wait, I am an old lady lol!!!

JL, we need a new front porch/patio too. I have been nagging about it for years! Hopefully I will get my way this year!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Mary You came home from your chiropractor and immediately started hauling branches around? What are you thinking, Lady?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Mary, I said the exact same words about sounding about an old lady when I was in San Diego. I forget how old I really am! or I WANT to forget how old I really am! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  8. That should read "sounding LIKE an old lady" I really should proof before I publish.

    ReplyDelete
  9. DIANNE - That was always my favorite part of service...the children's sermon ;)

    ReplyDelete
  10. SLIN - Don't even get me started on my list. After being in this house almost 22 years....OY!!!

    ReplyDelete
  11. BARB - Old, schmold ;) Whatever lady!! Keep moving....it keeps you young :)

    ReplyDelete
  12. MARY - lol @ 3 minute res-erection!! I literally snorted my cawfee!!

  13. Paul and Tim are leaving early this morning to help my in-laws. They have been in Arizona since January. They've done this the last several years. Pull their big ass trailer down there and enjoy some warmth during our winter. They were on their way back and when they got to New Mexico their truck started acting up. Something with the head gasket and running hot. They wanted over $7,000 down there for the repairs. But the guy said that they could probably make it home if they park the trailer and just drive the truck back. Paul and Tim are meeting them in Pacific, Missouri today to switch out trucks. I hope everything goes well. *keeping fingers crossed* ♥

  15. Hello everyone. Guess it's kind of late to be writing but I'm still awake getting ready to snooze.

Glad you all liked the blog. I thought it was a cute one.

Mary, I thought the same as JL ....you came home and lifted branches??? Crazy girl!!!' You need to rest some

Jodi, hope all works out on the truck exchange. The darn car trouble on a road trip is such a pain. Good your husband can help them. Is that place in Missouri far?

JL...sounds like you are Spring house cleaning with all your repairs and painting, etc. are you busy scrubbing and cleaning inside too?

I finally worked in my office today and started getting tax things ready for our appointment in a week. I've been putting off going in there since Christmas. Once I started I got a lot done. I'm by no means done but at least made a dent.

Snow here tomorrow again. Yuck. We are crazy up and down now from 70 one day to snow the very next day.

Barb..I'm just like you with my age. I forget how old I am then I'm at the store and someone wants to carry out for me and then I remember!!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. HOdi I hope the truck exchange went off without a hitch. No pun intended.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Dianne Ha! No spring cleaning going on here. In fact, I've been quite lazy. Besides cleaning, there are definitely things that need to be done indoors around here. But maybe I'll spend the money on another cruise instead. :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. JL, I perked up when I read "cruise" lol! I really think we should have a "ho-cruise". I really miss cruising!

Dianne, we need to get our taxes done too. We go short form, but it still gets Jim all discombobulated lol!

Barb, when I look at you I certainly don't see an old lady!!

Jodi, Safe travels to your hubby and son! Many years ago we had to get a new transmission in Montana! That was expensive!

Enjoy the rest of your week end everyone!!

  20. Why thank you Mary, even though I know you're kidding. I don't think any of look old and we certainly don't act old!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Dianne, I had my taxes done yesterday and it was NOT good news. For the first time since I have been retired, I have to pay both the state and Feds. :(

    ReplyDelete
  22. Got my taxes in order today for the tax guy on Friday. I got a Lot of paper work done today and then dinner with a girlfriend. I'm surprised at myself. Actually.

JL.come on our alaskan cruise with us. It would be fun. Bring marybeith u ..seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Should say bring Mary with you You could probably get good deal now. I need someone to talk to as Louis is gone taking pictures all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  24. DIANNE, SLIN & MARY - They met about 6 hours away from here. Paul said by the time they got home they had traveled about 900 miles. All went well. Paul drove down and Tim drove back. I was afraid they were going to murder each other, but Tim said they bonded. And that's a good thing!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. BARB - Still need to make my appt to have my taxes done. I don't know why I haven't done it yet. Sorry you had to pay in twice!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yesterday I took my Aunt Jane to my Great Aunt and Uncle's Anniversary party. On Tuesday they will be married 64 years. Jane was born on their wedding day and she is their Godchild. Uncle Wayne was my Grandpa Jacobson's youngest brother, so his kids are more my age. It was great to see extended family when it didn't involve a funeral. I guess my Uncle had sang in a barbershop quartet back in the early 60's, so they surprised them with a performance by a local barbershop group. They were quite good!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Wishing everyone a good week ♥

    ReplyDelete
  28. HOdi Good news about the bonding and that all went well with the their rescue mission.

April 15 will be here sooner than you think. I took my stuff to the accountant a couple of weeks ago. I have individual tax forms plus ones for a trust so I no longer do my own tax returns. I haven't heard what the damage is yet.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Jodi, good to hear that all went well with Tim and Paul on their mission of mercy.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Dianne, I hope you have better luck than I did on Friday.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Mary, A "HO-Cruise" sounds like fun if it could be on land! ;) We've had this conversation before - I'm not a water person!

    ReplyDelete
  32. J/L, I hope the news is good when you finally hear from the tax person.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Barb, I keep forgetting you don't like cruises. I'm not sure they have a dry dock trip lol!

Hodi, so glad your guys made it back in one piece lol! Bonding is a good thing :)

Dianne,I would jump at the chance to go with you if I wasn't already heading some place balmy lol!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Mary Waving back at ya! Maybe we could talk Barb into an old-time paddle wheeler river cruise; Mississippi or Columbia River.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Barb I got my tax forms back today. I don't owe anything and neither does the trust. The bad news is that the charge for the CPA to do these tax forms for me runs around $900 every year. Oh, well. With things like capital gains involved, I need to make sure they're done correctly.

    ReplyDelete
  36. J/L, Mine have become very simple since I sold the rental, but I do have a trust. My tax guy, whom I have known for 30+ years, used to do the taxes and bookkeeping for our business. He told me I could probably could do them myself, but then I wouldn't have the pleasure of his company. LOL He only charges me $100, so I guess that's not too bad for his company and doing my taxes.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Barb It pays to know people in high places. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  38. SLIN - I'm calling today for an appt. Hopefully she has time on Monday on my day off. I always pay someone to do mine. If it was just the house I wouldn't, but we have 2 K1 forms. One for the horses and one for my CSI participation at Kwik Trip. That one can be especially tricky since it involves returns in 3 states. I would much rather pay to make sure it is right!!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. MARY - lol @ dry dock trip! I still would love to take that ferry across Lake Michigan to see u!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. BARB - That's a deal!! I paid over $200 last year to have ours done. The gal that used to do ours has been slowly been trying to retire, so last year I hired the gal that used to do my Dad's.

  41. I'm working today, then have the next 2 days off. I did Alex a favor and worked last Saturday, so that is why I have Thursday off. The boys are on Spring Break this week. Tim has picked up some hours at the farm that he is going to be working at this season. Poor Jake has been bored. Maybe he and I can catch a movie one of those days. Any good recommendations?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Waving a wing from break!!

Have a great day HOoters :-)

    ReplyDelete
  43. It's raining....yayyyyy

We had a few sprinkles yesterday, but much more through the night and it continues. I hope we get a good soaking.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Sipping cawfee before taking Jake to PT for his knee. Praying it will be a short course of action for him. I'm then having dinner with GOLDIE and Aunt Jane. We are meeting at Granite City in Madison!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hi, HOOters! How's life treating you? Not much happening today. Went and visited a friend in the hospital. Picked up some pot stickers on the way home and ate them as a snack. I'm going to make a bunch of veggies for dinner. Before that, though, I need a cup of coffee.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Hey SLIN! I took the boys to see Saving Mr. Banks at the cheap theater today. I really enjoyed the movie. Emma Thompson and Tom Hanks were fabulous!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I got a call from The Red Cross yesterday. They need my blood again, so I'm donating a double red tomorrow at 8 am. In the afternoon I am volunteering at the state wrestling tournament in Madison. They needed help during weigh ins. Should be fun. Not sure how late I wl be staying for competition, since I have to work Saturday.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Hi Everyone. How are you all doing? I never did see that movie, Jodi. It's at our cheap movie too. I should go see it.

I had dinner at the nursing home the other night. The food wasn't very good on that night. Some nights they have lobster ....not on my visit.

We finally get our taxes done tomorrow and then I have a sleep study tomorrow night. I'm so tired during the day after many hours sleep so we shall see.

Jodi..how was dinner? How is Goldie's son doing?

Can't believe March is almost over already. Won't be long until I'm trying to pack for my cruise.

    Hope everyone is doing great

    ReplyDelete
  49. DIANNE - Dinner was good! Looks like GOLDIE'S son might be going home on Saturday! He truly is a walking miracle!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Dianne Sounds like you have to plan your visits to the nursing home better.

    ReplyDelete
  51. HOdi Great news about Goldie's son. What a long, hard journey that's been. Here's hoping for smooth sailing from here on out.

    ReplyDelete
  52. What's everyone doing today? I just have to do some banking and then get my mammo this afternoon. I'll probably visit my friend in the hospital again, too. Yesterday she could only have ice chips but today they are graduating her to broth and jello. Party! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  53. Got back from giving blood and my arm is killing me! All was well til she went to take the needle out. She jarred the crap outta the needle. Felt like it went straight thru to my elbow. I am not happy!! Check off another person I won't let take my blood. ugh!!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Jake went in my place to help at the tournament. He should do ok and he will get a t shirt and a wrist band for the whole tournament!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Off to my sleep study. Hope I can sleep.

    ReplyDelete
  56. DIANNE - Hope the sleep study goes well!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hey SLIN! I hate when I wake up a little over an hour before I have to get up. I always fear I won't hear my alarm. Gonna be a long day!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Happy Saturday my feathered friends :)

I can relate to waking up before the alarm. I seem to be doing that a lot lately. I want to go back to sleep, but lay there wondering if I will miss the alarm!

I need to get a mani/pedi before my trip. I still haven't figured out what to pack since it is an all inclusive trip. I know it is in the 80s so no need for boots, sweaters, socks and heavy coats! YAY!!

I have doing the "Dr Phil" 10 day diet and have lost 8lbs. One less spare tire to stuff in my bathing suit lol! Now to the back fat, hips and ass! Oye vey, how did I let myself go so bad?

Jodi, after my last blood donation, I decided it was my last! My arm was sore for a long time! My veins need to be preserved in case I need them for me lol!!

Dianne, my hubby should have that test too! He is so restless all night long, screams, jerks and of course all that coughing! Its a wonder I sleep at all!

Time to check my farm and get some work done.......

    ReplyDelete
  59. HOdi One of the best parts of retiring is rarely needing to set the alarm. That's especially nice on raining mornings like today. Of course, as luck would have it, I will work today but I make my own hours so I just have to go sometime in the afternoon.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Mary Congrats on the weight loss! I have pretty much regained everything I lost and I am so disappointed in myself. I need to jump-start some weight loss. Maybe I'll look into that diet.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Happy Saturday. I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

It's raining again and everyone is happy. It's supposed to continue, off and on, for a week.

    ReplyDelete
  62. J/L, I have gained some of the weight I lost and I am struggling not to gain it all back. Taking prednesone isn't helping at all.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Mary, when do you leave for your trip?

    ReplyDelete
  64. How nice of Jake to take your place at the tournament. I bet it was hard for him not to participate.

    ReplyDelete
  65. MARY - My arm is still hella sore today. It won't be my last, but u can bet Nurse Ratchet won't be taking my blood in the future!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. SLIN - I made the mistake of laying back down. I didn't miss my alarm, but then I played the snooze game ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  67. Barb We had heavy rain throughout the morning. Raining lightly now. My new roof, gutters, and downspouts are getting a workout.

    ReplyDelete
  68. HOdi I'm so sorry about your arm. As for snooze alarm game, I know it well.

    ReplyDelete
  69. BARB - Yes, it was hard for him. Paul and Jake just got home and he's still a bit pissy. His teammates that he went to watch yesterday didn't do well. I'm sure it will always bug him that he couldn't compete.

    ReplyDelete
  70. DIANNE - How did the sleep study go?

    ReplyDelete
  71. Time for more ibuprofen and ice for my arm. Have a good afternoon HOoters :-)

    ReplyDelete
  72. Barb, I leave at a weird time. We take a bus from Lansing at 2:00am Sat (Fri. night) to Chicago. We leave at 8:00 am. It is a straight flight to The Island. It will be a long trip.I'm sure we will all be sleeping! Oh well I will have a whole week to catch up :)

I am glad Cali is getting the rain they needed. We don't need ANY precipitation! Our mounds of snow are melting and creating high rivers and a whole lot of muddy roads. Our driveway isn't paved so it is a mess!It is a long "L" shaped driveway and you need to pick up steam to drive out of our garage or you will get stuck!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Hi....my sleep study went well I think. You know they don't tell you much. I was sound asleep by 11pm. I brought my little squishy pillow and hadn't taken any naps. He woke me twice during the night and then at 5:20 to go home. It was very dark out. I came home and took a shower as there was paste in my hair and then met my friend Barb for a very early breakfast. I couldn't believe all cars and people up at that time of day on a Saturday. Crazy. I came home and slept for a very long time. I once again learned that I'm not a morning person.

Jodi, sorry your arm is still hurting. She must have really dug that needle in there. I hate needle things

Mary, sounds like you will be having fun. How long will you be gone on your trip? Should be nice and hot for you. Too hot for me. Have a great time.

Barb, I so agree with you on the weight thing. Up and down every week. It gets old, doesn't it? Prednisone for sure doesn't help the situation so don't be too hard on yourself.

JL, if I didn't see an alarm who knows when I'd wake up during the day. It would be afternoon sometime...that's why I have to make daily lunch plans for myself each day...Lunch or doctors!!

Guess I'll go to sleep fairly early tonight as I'm still tired. Have a good night everyone.

  74. I just saw a show on Nightline Prime about a woman who pretended to be a terminally ill child and wrote to Brad Paisley and his wife Kimberly saying she wanted Brad to sing to her before she died. She didn't ask for money, but she wrote them letters in a child's hand, and basically sucked them in with a picture of a real sick girl who lost her hair from cancer that she stole off the internet. Then she pretended to be the sick girl's mother and she told them the child died and asked if she could put Brad's picture in her coffin. Somehow they became suspicious and involved the police. This story made me think of Flower's Mommy. They termed this woman's 'condition' as Munchausen by Internet, where someone does this to get attention. There's a lot more to this story, and it was very interesting, but people who do this are really SICK on many levels!

    ReplyDelete
  75. J/L, what's the news about your car? Is it fixed or are you still driving the loaner?

    ReplyDelete
  76. Barb I got my car back on Wednesday. It's as good as new. :)

Yes, people who are that needy for attention and sympathy are very sick, indeed.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Dianne They woke you at 5:20 to go home? That was mighty early. No wonder you're tired. It's weird to be out and about that early isn't it? Like a different world. One I don't visit very often. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  78. Barb, I saw that story awhile back. It was really terrible. People are so crazy.

JL, it is a much different world. I kept wondering where everyone was going at 7 in the morning on a Saturday?

I'm really ready for sleep now

    ReplyDelete
  79. MARY - We are going to be in the 60's for the next couple of days. Most of our snow will be gone. Glad we don't have an unpaved driveway like u. The mud...good grief!!

    ReplyDelete
  80. DIANNE - You'd be surprised how busy we are by 5am! Welcome to my world ;)

    ReplyDelete
  81. BARB - I hadn't thought about Flower's Mommy in years, but that story sounds about the same. SICK!!!

    ReplyDelete
  82. SLIN - Glad you got your car back. Amazing things they can do!!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Best get prettied up for work!!

I only work til 10 am today. Paul and I are going out for a late breakfast when I'm done. A friend of mine and her hubby worked at/owned a diner in Madison years ago. They are reviving their menu at a local bar on Sundays. Can't wait to have their Eggs Benedict with a side of Bloody Mary!!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Moanin all! Just a quick fly-by. I am getting my mani/pedi today.
I am all excited! Not just about my trip, but...it's going to be in the 60s in Michigan today!! Prolly snow tomorrow lol!!

I forget who asked, and I am too lazy to scroll back lol, anyhoo. I will be gone a week. Nothing to do but relax, no cooking, cleaning,no one snoring cept me and there will be someone to wait on me the whole time :)

So far I am sticking to my Dr Phil "rapid start plan". I was eating my egg whites, bran cereal w/fruit, while I watched my hubby and son eat what I made them...French toast, sausage and scrambled eggs. Waaaaaaa!!
I have to admit, this program kills any desire for sweets. I was loving pastries way too much lol!

    Have a great day all!!!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Mary That was quite a spread you put out for the guys. Kudos to you for sticking to your diet.

    ReplyDelete
  86. MARY - Its going to be in the mud 60's here, too!! On our local news, the last day we had temps in the 60's was Halloween. Enjoy your mani/pedi and good job on your diet :-)

    ReplyDelete
  87. Merrrrnin' SLIN!! I've had a lazy morning. But now its time to shower and get going. Jake has a PT appt. No need to take him in my jammies ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  88. J/L, I'll bet you're glad they could repair your car.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Mary, I wouldn't have fixed all that stuff for my guys if I was dieting. Wayyy too tempting.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Jodi, that's a long cold winter for you guys.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Dianne, I thought it was terrible what that woman did to Brad Paisley and his wife, too. They are such compassionate people, too.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Boy Jodi, that is a really long cold winter. Our weather is so flexible and we have so many nice days along with our snow days I guess I'd better not complain. Glad you didn't wear your Jammie's to pt. they might have been excited when you came in wearing that black Lacey teddy

Mary, good job not eating that yummy food. You are a good wife and mom. I'm with Barb...I wouldn't fix all that either...you're sweeter than me.

Barb, I was just reading that Melissa Gilbert was tricked by that lady too.

I went for a pedi today and got Louis to come with me. He's only had one during his back surgery and didn't really remember it. He loved it. He was ohh and ahhing so much I was getting embarrassed. Oh well, at least I didn't have to pay. We were on a date ha!!

JL, glad your car is all fixed. Sounds like things are getting done around there for you. Won't be long until I get to see you and the others...can't wait.

    ReplyDelete
  93. HOdi I don't think you son would have appreciated it if you took him to pt wearing your jammies. Teenagers can be so judgmental. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  94. Barb I am glad to have my car back. I'm quite fond of it. It was nice driving the newer version, too, though.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Dianne LOL @ you being embarrassed by Louis' oohing and aahing. Sounds like your date was successful.

I'm looking forward to seeing you, too. It's going to be fun to all get together.

    ReplyDelete
  96. BARB - And it's truly not over yet. No snow in our forecast, but temps will be in the 40's for at least the next week!

    ReplyDelete
  97. DIANNE - Black lacy teddy...lol!!! I could just picture Louis making a scene getting his pedi!! Reminds me of a time when I was getting my nails done and a classmate's parents were getting pedi's done. The Dad was going on and on!! And the funny part was that the lady doing his speaks NO ENGLISH. She just kept smiling and nodding. Bwahahaha!!!

    ReplyDelete
  98. SLIN - I will admit, I did take him to school in my jammies, but I didn't have to get out of the car!! I also wore my sunglasses ;)

    ReplyDelete
  99. p.s. SLIN that 100 made me smile! Were you wearing your white boots? :)

    ReplyDelete
  100. Had fun at our last night of bowling for the season! Our team had decided not to bowl next season, but someone has already talked my boss into subbing for their team. Sucka!!! The only thing we have left is the Banquet on the 14th!

    ReplyDelete
  101. Jodi....that's kind of how Louis's nail girl was too. She speaks some English but not much. Glad you had fun bowling. I saw you on FB doing some shots for your bday.

JL..Marching and twirling that baton at 100. You've still got it girl. I mean number 100 not age. You knew that, right?

    ReplyDelete
  102. HOdi Yep, had my marching boots on and twirling a baton, too, just like Dianne thought. LOL

How do you feel about your team not bowling next season? Looks like you were having a lot of fun.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Dianne Some days I feel like I'm closer to 100 than I am.

    ReplyDelete
  104. JL...I know that feeling. I never like it when someone says you are as old as you feel. Bad news some days.

My granddaughters took off for Florida with their dad and lady friend today for the week. She has to work so they're hanging out at the beach. I think they might come back engaged.

Well, I'm going to call my cousin for awhile and then make self do a few things around here.

What are you all up to today? It's April Fools Day...any good pranks? I'll have to think of one to pull on Louis. He's easy.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Dianne You can always tell him you cooked dinner. Bwahahahaha!

    ReplyDelete
  106. I think I'll whip up a treat and bring in to the Ho fest and then you will all see that I've just been kidding and that I'm am I gourmet cook!'

    ReplyDelete
  107. DIANNE - My friend Aaron's birthday was the next day, so I had bought him one, but he wouldn't do it til we both had one. I hadn't done a shot of tequila in a LONG time!! OY!!!

    ReplyDelete
  108. SLIN - I'm fine with the team not bowling next season. We don't start til 8. Usually don't get home til after 10, and I can never get to sleep til after 11. Makes for a long Tuesday!! This way I can go when I choose to go and see my friends :)

  109. DIANNE - Jake got me good. He texted me yesterday morning telling me he had got suspended for cursing at his History teacher. So not cool!!! This is the teacher that has been kinda harassing my boy most of the year, so I was really fired up. When I got off work I kept texting him asking questions and he finally let me off the hook. Little shit ;)

  110. Best get prettied up for work. I'm training the gal that will be Alex's bookkeeper at the new store in Madison. She is doing great!! Alex says she's a "mini me"! lol!!

  118. Just got back from Orego Youth Wrestling Year End Party. Good food and Jake got recognized for his leadership this year. Coach named him Team Captain! So proud of my boy <3

    ReplyDelete
  119. Its been a long day....good night HOoters <3

    ReplyDelete
  120. HOdi Congrats to Jake! You have every right to be very proud of him.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Beverly So good to see you peeking in.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Jodi, congrats to Jake. It's been a good year for him. Nice talking to you in the wee hours

Beverly, great to see you. We like old time peekers

    ReplyDelete
  123. DIANNE - Always nice to talk to u! Charter Cable guy did show up, but 20 minutes after the 3-5 pm window!! Grrr!!! So I had to reschedule for today.

    ReplyDelete
  124. 3rd time was a charm!! We now have TV service in our bedroom!

Just got back from dinner with Paul. Went to our fav diner in the next town. Going shopping in the morning. My Aunt Jane gave me a gift card to Bath and Body Works. I see online they have some new "Hawaiian" scents. I also have a gift card to Sears, so my co-worker Christina and I are hitting the mall.

What do you have planned for the weekend?

    ReplyDelete
  125. HOdi I had dinner with friends tonight but nothing exciting planned for the weekend. I should go shopping like you.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Good morning SLIN! I would love to go shopping with u :)

    ReplyDelete
  127. So the Charter Cable saga continues. I had a 2 hour nap after the Cable guy left yesterday. Paul and I went to a late-ish dinner, so I didn't go to bed til almost midnight. Woke up at about 4:30 this morning, which technically is sleeping in for me. I made a pot of coffee and was going to watch tv in the basement so I wouldn't wake anyone up. The freakin' Cable guy switched out the box that was down there, and now it says not authorized!! WTF!!! That box was working fine, so I don't know why he swapped it out. So I called Charter to activate the box and it sent me to a rep. That would've been fine, but THEIR OFFICE ISN'T OPEN YET!!! So I tried refreshing the box online, and that site isn't working now, either.

Sorry for the rant....back to your scheduled blogging ♥

    ReplyDelete
  128. HOdi I don't blame you for being frustrated. The cable guy should have tested that box out to make sure everything was working properly before he left your house.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Hi Everyone...

Jodi, I'd be frustrated too. I get very upset with tv, computer and phone issues and want them fixed NOW! Did you get it fixed today?

Glad you had a nice dinner, JL. What did you have for dinner? Lobster? I had brunch with my friend Barb. We usually go one of the days of the weekend. We found a new little place today but had to go earlier as it closed at 2:00

Finally heard on my sleep test but have to go see dr to go over it and pay another co pay to know results. I go on Tuesday.

Let's what other excitement do I have planned? Lunch tomorrow and then nail appt.

I want to do some cruise shopping and not online. It's hard for me to stand so long at the store so I'll figure something out and maybe go after hair apt Friday.

Went to visit my lady friend yesterday. It seems harder to visit her in assisted living. She's a little busier and also more tired.

Well, that's my boring life. Would like to be with Mary having a piña colada but not sweating!

    ReplyDelete
  130. I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I have les miserables cold. It started with a sore throat that is slowly going away and now I am just a pile of snot and coughing. I have to usher tomorrow and I may just stay in the lobby during the show because I am afraid I will have a coughing fit. This is in a very small theatre and if someone goes out during the show, they are not allowed back in until intermission. If it's after intermission, they might as well go home. The reason for that policy is the door opens about three feet from the stage, which is floor level, and it is too distracting for the actors and the audience. So, I will probably just go home after intermission, because I have no duties after that. The show is "Visiting Mr. Green" and is billed as "an intimate comedic drama of friendship and forgiveness." I have never seen it, but it plays until May 4, so maybe I can see it before the run is over.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Dianne, your life doesn't sound boring to me. You go out almost every day and that's something, plus you bring joy to that woman in the assisted living place and that's a very good thing.

Thursday, Sharon and I are going to see Sister Act. I am looking forward to it.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Jodi, Congrats to Jake on his successful wrestling season, even though he just missed completing it. I know you are one proud Mama!

    ReplyDelete
  133. Jodi2, Last week a Hunky DirecTV technician came out to upgrade all my receivers and my DVR. He was supposed to be here between noon and 4:00 and I got a call at 10:15 saying he was finished with his first call early and asking if he could 'do me' early! I was all for it and he arrived about five minutes later. About two hours later, all the work was done and he left. Even though he didn't 'do me' I was a happy camper. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  134. J/L, is all the work at your house finished? I have so much I should do here, but I just hate to get started.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Mary, I bet you are sitting out in the sun, drinking your adult beverage of choice. Wish I could be on a beach right now.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Thank you everyone for your kind werds~ Dad is in Heaven now with his Mom~ He's been "telling" us in little ways that he's okay now, but he's causing mischief~ The check engine light came on in my sister's car (we kept her last car accident from him). The gate to the backyard is now broken....and he's not here to fix it. I keep opening the pantry door and the handle falls off~ I yell at him every time it happens~ (I no longer use the handle!) At mass today, the readings, gospel, and homily were all about him....and the song he wanted for his funeral was sung~ ugh.....I cried, of course~ Anyway.....thank you for the thoughts and prayers~ We very much appreciate them.....can't have too many~ Once everything settles down.....I may actually get back to posting more blogs~ Off to write an obituary~ ♥

    ReplyDelete
  137. Tina, don't worry about posting more blogs. We keep on keeping on! Take care of what you need to do.

    ReplyDelete
  138. SLIN - When I called back after the office was open, the tech on the phone said that the box should've been activated by him!! All she had to do was to send a signal to the box and it was done. The change over to total digital service started on 3/25/14, so it only took almost 2 weeks ;)

    ReplyDelete
  139. DIANNE - Yes, we now have 3 working tv's in the house. Yippee!!

    ReplyDelete
  140. BARB - They tried calling me all 3 days early, but I was at work!!

    ReplyDelete
  141. TINA - Love those kind of signs! I think of u often....love u 4 ♥

    ReplyDelete
  142. Tina Love and prayers to you and your family.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Barb No, I'm not done with home improvements. Bldg inspector coming tomorrow morning and homefully we will get okay on the front deck. I plan on having the rails painted same color as trim when I get house painted soon. Everything needs to dry out good after the rain, though. I'm trying to decide on colors. Also, need some kind of landscaping in front of deck. Not sure if I'm getting a new modern garage door and front door. May just get front door for now. I get nervous about spending a lot of money like I am now. Maybe someday I'll even replace my broken down couches like my daughter keeps nagging me to do. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  144. Dianne LOL @ you wishing you were having a pina colada but not sweating! I can relate to that.

    ReplyDelete
  145. SLIN - After our harsh weather, I'm looking forward to drinking and sweating ;)

  146. Just got back from Madison. My boss invited me to go bowling with his Assistant Store Leader for the new store. We had a blast. Bowled and then hit our fav gay bar for a couple more cocktails! Makes me a little sad that he is leaving, but he had laid the ground work for us to be successful. I also found out who our new store leader will be. Not sure I agree with the choice, but she was warned not to make any major changes. She will have to learn the way we do things, because we do it well!! We have our next store meeting on Tuesday night and it will be revealed who gets Alex's job. He knows how I feel about him and how thankful I am that he has my back. Because of him I am getting my shift leader status back, and for that I am thankful ♥

    ReplyDelete
  147. Finally dropping off my tax info tomorrow after work. Keeping my fingers crossed that we don't have to pay in.

    Good night HOoters...love u all ♥

  148. Just watched the country music award show. I love it because they don't do many awards but a lot of great music. It was a really good show.

Sprinkled rain and snow here today. Blah. Had lunch at Red Lobster and then had my nails done. Trying to work on the timing for hair and nails with vacation. Not working too well.

My ex SIL got engaged to my friend I introduced him to a year ago this week. They took the kids to Florida for Spring break and he proposed there. Kind of funny that I introduced them but I'm glad and my daughter is glad and the kids like her so all is well.....weird but well

    ReplyDelete
  149. DIANNE - Funny how those things work out. I'm happy that the kids and your daughter are ok with her. It will make moving forward so much better! What color did you get on your nails?

    ReplyDelete
  150. Jodi.....kinda of a pinky mauve. Unusual for me as I usually do French but I'm liking color lately with the shellac

    ReplyDelete
  151. Love the shellac DIANNE!! And the color sounds great for spring :-)

    ReplyDelete
  152. Happy Monday Owls.

Well, we had a very long Spring in place of winter and now summer is here, it seems. Yesterday it was 84 degrees and we expect 80s all week. Mother Nature has really gone off the rails.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Dianne, I usually get red polish on my nails in December for Christmas and do French the rest of the time. What is shellac?

    ReplyDelete
  154. Barb Maybe Mother Nature is in menopause.

    ReplyDelete
  155. J/L, LOL or someone really pissed her off! Remember that old commercial where she zapped people and said "It's not nice to fool Mother Nature!" Well, someone must have forgotten!

    ReplyDelete
  156. It was a beautiful day here, around 70. Any higher and I'd probably start whining. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  157. Hi....Barb, shellac is a type of nail polish. It lasts for weeks. After they put it on you put your hands under lights. They have to take it off. I can go 3-4 weeks and the only reason I change is the normal outgrow. Lots of pretty colors. It can be done on your own nails, gels, acrylic, whatever kind. Ask your girl next time

We are going in high 70's this week. I ventured to the car wash and vacuum today even though it looked like snow and then hurried home.

Get to see the kids or at least one of them tomorrow night for dinner after two weeks. Also get my sleep study results tomorrow. Anxious about it.

    JL...you are like me I think...no sweating!!

Jodi...heard on the taxes yet? Hope it goes good for you.

Not much new around here. Didn't visit my lady today since I was just there on Friday. I don't want to annoy her.

    ReplyDelete
  158. BARB - I even remember that commercial ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  159. DIANNE - No word yet. No news equals good news, I hope. *keeping fingers crossed*

    ReplyDelete
  160. SLIN - Back in the mid 50's today, but expecting mid 60's tomorrow!!

    ReplyDelete
  161. MARY - Have u found a nice cabana boy yet?

    ReplyDelete
  162. Just waiting for Sam and Nate to show up. I'm treating them to breakfast.

Have a great day HOoters :-)

    ReplyDelete
  163. Jodi..I wanted to come to breakfast and be treated but you go too early plus you forgot to invite me :(

    ReplyDelete
  164. DIANNE - I will treat u to breakfast in June!!

    ReplyDelete
  165. Jodi, I hope it's good news for you re taxes.

Dianne, I will ask Sheenah about shellac, but since I do French manicure, I probably won't get it. I go every two weeks for a fill because my nails grow out quickly.

J/L, it's really warming up here. I will probably have to turn on the A/C.

Mary, I hope you can bring back cabana boys for all of us! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  166. BARB - I got shellac manicures. I, like u like a French, but with digging in cash drawers and all I do at work, shellac was the answer for me. It never chipped or wore off!!

    ReplyDelete
  167. I am getting my hair cut & colored today, then I'm meeting the Jennifers and two other former co-workers at the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. Haven't seen the other two for a couple of years, so I'm looking forward to catching up on their lives. One of them is a new Great-Grandmother. I know there will be pictures.

    Have a great day everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  168. BARB - Have fun at your dinner!

    ReplyDelete
  169. Barb Dinner sounds like fun. Just got back from meeting my son in Livermore so he could give dog back to me. This required going over the San Mateo Bridge. You would have loved it. NOT!

    ReplyDelete
  170. HOdi I've never heard of shellac on nails, either, but then again, I never get color manicures. I'll have to check it out.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Barb and JL...I've done French manicure for years. They can can change it up very easy. I like the color once in awhile. Get lots of compliments on it.

Barb, how was dinner? What kind of cheesecake did you get? Yum!'

Ok Jodi...I'll take u up on that breakfast. Can't wait.

Mary...I want a boy too. Tall please.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Dianne, I had an Asian salad for dinner and I was too full for cheesecake, so I took home a piece of Key Lime cheesecake. I probably shouldn't have taken any home, but really, going to the Cheesecake Factory requires buying cheesecake, whether it's eaten there or taken home! Last time I got S'mores cheesecake and it was delish. I could only eat a couple of bites and it took me three days to eat the rest of it. It was VERY rich! I think the Key Lime will be lighter.

    ReplyDelete
  173. J/L, I have been over the San Mateo Bridge and HATED IT! We were coming home from San Jose and my Hubby said he 'accidentally' went the wrong way and he had no choice but to go over that bridge. I swear, it took us three days to cross it, well maybe not exactly, but it seemed like it. He was in deep do-do for about a week!

    ReplyDelete
  174. Jodi, Thanks, we had a great time. I posted a couple of pics on FB.

    ReplyDelete
  175. BARB - Cute pics! And the key lime sounds delicious!

    ReplyDelete
  176. Well, its been a Helluva 24 hours. I had my interview with our District Leader at 3:30 yesterday. It went well. I got the promotion! She just has to figure out the money. When I picked Jake up from track practice last night, he was in pain. I took him to the Dr today and he has strained his groin area, opposite of the knee he most recently injured. Back to PT next week. And finally, I got a call from our tax lady. We owe the Fed money and r getting a refund from the state. Cost us just over $300 for her services....with no happy ending ;-) OY!!!

I think it is officially beer- thirty. Cheers HOoters!!

    ReplyDelete
  177. HOdi Thanks for the call. I hope you're enjoying a nice frosty one about now.

    ReplyDelete
  178. Barb Cute pic of you and your friends. Key lime cheesecake does sound good. Have you tried it yet? What did you think of it?

    ReplyDelete
  179. Picked the dog up from my son yesterday and she has a swollen and painful toe. Took her to the vet today and they x-rayed it to make sure it wasn't broken. She's now on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory med. Hopefully it will clear everything up. She's not her usual perky self.

    ReplyDelete
  180. SLIN - Just finished a second Hulamoo with my pizza....*hick* ;-) Glad we were able to connect. Kinda strange talking to u in the daylight! Lol! Sending good juju for your dog :-)

    ReplyDelete
  181. HOdi Yes, it was strange to talk to you when it wasn't 1:00 a.m. here. I was worried that something was wrong. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  182. Didn't mean to worry u SLIN!!

    ReplyDelete
  183. Got my sleep test results back to tell me I need a CPAP. HELLO..I already use one. My deductible isn't paid yet this year so that test cost me $1290 to tell me what I already knew!! Dr is ordering a newer version is all. Ridiculous. AND no answer on why I'm so tired during the day.

Had dinner with GD tonight. My other one fell down some stairs and is in a cast and crutches. I might have already told you that. She's in a lot of pain but had to go to cheer leader tryouts and watch.

Have I mentioned I haven't seen my grandsons since Xmas? It's a very sad situation and makes me very sad and upset with my son.

Jodi, congratulations on the promotion. That's very exciting for you. Sorry you have to pay on taxes. Is Jake better today? I hope so.

JL..How the pooch feeling? Wonder what happened to his foot?

Mary, are you eating cheesecake yet? Pretty good that you just had a salad there with that yummy menu they have to offer.

    ReplyDelete
  184. DIANNE - He will be going back to school today. It only really hurts now when it is extended when he's running. And I think u were referring to BARB with the cheesecake. Ha!! I'm sure MARY is eating something delicious, though on her trip!
