New Texas Priest

by Mary

A new priest, born and raised in Texas, comes to
serve in a city parish and is nervous about hearing
confessions, so he asks the older priest to sit in
on his sessions.
The new priest hears a couple of confessions,
then the old priest asks him to step out of the
confessional for a few suggestions.
The old priest suggests, “Cross your arms over your
chest, and rub your chin with one hand and try saying
things like 'yes, I see,' and 'yes, go on,' and 'I understand.'”
The new priest crosses his arms, rubs his chin with one
hand and repeats all the suggested remarks to the old priest.
The old priest says, "Now, don't you think that's a little
better than slapping your knee and saying,
‘No shit, what happened next?????’"

  6. Crazy week!! I was able to spend the day with Belinda on Monday. She was the foreign exchange student the year after I graduated. I got to know here quite well because she was in Swing Choir with Dale. We went out to the cemetery. She hadn't seen the new stone that we had done for Mom and Dad. I also took her into Oregon so she could see the houses that she stayed at 30 years ago.

Yesterday I had lunch with Sam, Nate and his Mom.

Today I'm going to catch up on laundry. I also have to get ingredients for potato salad! Heading over to Christina's house after she gets done with work tomorrow to make it.

Still have to make a Spotted Cow and curds run.

  8. 12 pack is fine. I still haven't started packing. I ended up going to the dr and hospital for some X-rays this morning that I wasn't planning on doing so it kind of messed up my day.

Mary, pretty darn funny joke. Thanks for sending it in.

JL..are you on the road today? Don't you two start getting in trouble already.

  22. Everyone must be resting today. I know I did this morning. Must get going soon. Have to get a nail fixed, get a new pair of shoes for my assistant job (that starts tomorrow), and then picking Sam up from work. Getting Mexican take out so she can eat and do laundry before we go out to meet my friend Belinda one last time before she heads home to Australia.

  23. I got home last night and the men were starving lol! I made a home made pizza between unpacking. They are so spoiled....maybe "lazy" is a better word lol!
Today I slept in then rushed around doing the laundry and getting groceries. I bought a new air conditioner for my son since his old one died while I was gone. His room is upstairs and gets pretty hot! He got it all hauled up them stairs and hooked up and..yup, didn't work! Gr-r-r-r! Guess where I am going tomorrow? Wally World!

I had a wonderful time last week end. I always look forward to the hugs, smiles, shenanigans, food, drinks and meeting new friends. Our little owls nest keeps growing!

  28. Well, I survived my first day as Auditor Asst. I think I'm going to like it!! I do it again tomorrow. Most weeks it will be only one day out of the store. I can only imagine what I will walk into on Thursday when I'm finally back at my store. I have a feeling they've missed me ;-)
