  1. Where are you little owls today? How are you doing with the healing, JL? Have you been able to drive yet? Guess you'd better not if on pain pills.

Jodi, looks like you had fun at the tug of war today. How's Sam doing? How are you doing?

Barb, guess what I'm getting ....bronchitis! Isn't that special? We are going away for a long weekend tomorrow so no time for dr BUT I had to go to my cancer GYN dr today for an annual and I talked her into some antibiotics. I have some prednisone at home if it gets really bad. I'm coughing my head off. My little visit ended up with a biopsy that I wasn't planning. It's always something. I sure hope you're much better now.

Barb in Co, are you getting ready to go on you camping trip next week? I think that's what you have planned.

Hi Mary ....what's up young lady? There is a George Strait concert (his final) tomorrow on CMT for any of you George fans. It should be good.

My granddaughter tried out for cheer and made the junior varsity squad tonight. We are really glad. I think it will keep her focused on her grades and keep her busy. She's trying very hard.

Well, anyone have any Labor Day weekend plans? Guess now fall will be arriving soon...good!!!

  2. DIANNE - Good morning! What a horrible reminder that the snow will be flying before we know it.

It was a beautiful day for tug of war. What a neat experience for our young pullers. They didn't win, but pulled against kids from all over the world!

Sam is doing ok. Still trying to get an appt for her with a counselor. Kinda tricky with who accepts insurance, and timing with work and vehicles.

Jake's team won their first game last night, and at home!! He even ran one in for a TD!!

I'm doing ok. Working thru Sunday, but then I have Monday and Tuesday off.

Hope the antibiotics kick in for you soon ♥

  3. FROM AREA 51:

BARB - I go back and forth all the time. And I would never say it out loud!

SLIN - Thankfully I broke my left arm. My hair was tricky, but I think I just ended up tucking it behind my ears for the most part and tried fluffing up the top the best I could. Hang in there lady. Love u ♥

  4. Best get prettied up for work. Have to go in early to swap out the sale tags before I do books at 4.

    Have a great day HOoters!!

  5. Dianne, cute blog. Good that you were able to get drugs early if you do have bronchitis. Be very careful and don't overdo. You don't want it to turn into something worse like it did for me.

  6. Dianne, I promise not to break your "confidential info" lol!!
Sorry about your biopsy, but glad they taking good care of you.

Nothing special going on for us this week end. It's supposed to rain anyhoo.

I am a little bummed about my sweet neighbor Jim. He was told that both of his legs will have to be amputated! The infection will just keep coming back, threatening his life. He has already put his house up for sale and he will be moving in with his daughter and family. He will be needing a lot of love and support.

Well, YAY! My Michigan State Spartan college football team won, the Detroit Tigers won and my hometown of Ithaca won (they haven't lost a game in 3 yrs!). WOOT WOOT!! Now if we can get the Lions to shape up lol!!

Jodi, I love all the pics you posted! How exciting to go against teams from other countries!

Waving at the Barbs and JL~~~~~

  7. Dianne _ Thanks for the cute little birdie. I don't think he needs to fly out of Colorado to smoke his dope.

Congrats to your granddaughter. It's good for them to be involved in school activities.

Keeping my fingers crossed for good biopsy results. Also, good thinking to get those antibiotics. Too many of us are sick or injured right now. What's with that?

Thanks for sending me to this new blog. I was lost in Area 51.

  8. Mary, Very sad about your neighbor. He is lucky that he will be able to move in with his daughter instead of going to a skilled facility where he wouldn't know anyone.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Mary - I'm sorry to hear about your neighbor. So glad he has family to take him in. You've been a very good neighbor and friend to him.

  10. Dianne, I hope the drugs are working quickly and clearing up your bronchitis. I'm praying for good results from the biopsy. When do you get the results?

  11. HOdi - I'm nearly helpless with my left hand but getting better out of necessity. Typing is tiresome. It hurts to use my right hand and hunging and pecking only using my left takes forever.

I hope Sam is feeling better.

  12. Barb - I see we are writing at the same time. Do you see me waving with my good wing?

    ReplyDelete
  13. MARY - Your neighbor has been thru so much. Thankfully his daughter can take him in. Sending blessings his way ♥ The Opening Ceremony was something to see yesterday. I got a little misty watching my boy taking it all in.

    ReplyDelete
  14. SLIN - As long as I kept my are in the sling, I was able to use my hand. I put my keyboard on my lap to use my computer. It was also one of the reasons I could go back to work so soon. When does Liz get back from her trip?

    ReplyDelete
  15. SLIN - P.s. Sam is taking it one day at a time. She still hasn't tried to drive since last Saturday night. I told her I would take her out Sunday to give it a try. I have Monday and Tuesday off, but come Wednesday she will have to drive to work (since Tim will be back in school) or stay with friends that are closer to her work.

  16. DIANNE - Sending a little prayer that your biopsy comes out ok ♥

  17. Thanks BARB - Hanging as well as I can!!

  18. BARB IN CO via WA - Waving a wing at you! Must be exciting that the house is so close to being finished! It's been fun watching the progress.

  19. SLIN - ARe? As long as I kept my ARM!!! Good grief, and that is with two good arms....lol!!!

  20. HOdi - Liz called a little while ago from Seattle while waiting for her connecting fight home.

  21. My neighbor across the street just came over to get my dog to take her to her house to play with her dog and another visiting dog. My dog has more of a social life than I do. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  22. JL, I just cracked up about your dogs "social life". Too funny!!

I made a big Mex. dinner tonight. I don't mind the cooking , it's the cleaning up I hate!
I invited a local friend of mine over. She loves to sing, so we were out in the garage doing Karaoke. Not much else to do on a rainy night. We got tons of rain and more coming!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Mary - Send some of that rain to California! I bet you all were having a ball singing your hearts out in the garage.

    ReplyDelete
  24. J/L, LOL @ your dog's social life.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Mary, nice of you and your friend to serenade the neighbors. That sounds like fun.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Barb, remember, I live out in the boonies lol! No one hears us down in the "holler". Even with our big speakers going. I have tested, by crossing the road and cranking them. My neighbor Jim said he would love to listen anytime. I hope our new neighbors are as pleasant.

JL, I would love to send the rain! We are expecting more tomorrow. I will see what I can do lol!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Mary- I'll be keeping an eye out for that rain. Our forecast is that we will be having a warm day so I guess I better start doing a rain dance.

  28. Barb - It was another boring day here. I am getting a lot of reading done but I'm getting tired of that. I did manage to carefully go down the stairs to the back yard and pick up dog poop with the pooper scooper. I did a load of laundry. One-handed folding is a challenge.

  29. Hey Guys! I'm so sorry I have not been here to check on all of you. Been crazy busy with packing for the move and having different appointments for the house. We leave tomorrow for Glacier NP in Montana until Sept 11. So I wont be stopping by during that time. I may have some limited access to FB. Please know that I have been thinking of you all, and I hope everyone is feeling better, will get better soon, and will heal up quick! You all know who you are and what phrase best fits your current situation LOL!

After the move, or actually after the month of October, things will begin to settle down for me and I will be able to come here a lot more.

Love Ya! Hope we can plan another get together. I would love to spend some more time with you ladies :-)

Dianne.....We will have to schedule a lunch :-)

  30. Barb in CO. I loved Glacier Natl Park! It was beautiful and scary at the same time! Those high ledges freak me out! We were there in July and there was still snow on the mt. Some one had written in big letters in the snow "Hi Jim!". It happened to be my Jim's birthday. Weird!!
    Enjoy your vaca!!

JL, man did we get the rain today! I guess Mother Nature didn't get my memo lol!

Waving a Hodi, Dianne(where ever you are) and Sac Barb~~~~

  31. Mary.....I didn't know that you were in Glacier in July! Did you post any pics?

    Well I'm off!

    Love Ya Guys!

  32. Happy day after Labor Day everyone. I hope you all had a good weekend.

  33. Dianne, I hope you trip was relaxing for you and you weren't sick.

  34. J/L, one more week of Bachelor in Paradise. Then what are we going to watch?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Mary, if you cooked a big Mex dinner for me, I would gladly clean up after.

  36. Jodi, you have a Freshman and a Senior. The years sure go by fast, don't they. I feel like it was only a few months since my youngest graduated college, but he celebrated his 40th birthday in March. How does THAT happen? 😜

  37. Hi Everyone....what's new? Football starts tomorrow night..yea!!!

Our trip was fun and relaxing. The weather wasn't great in the mountains but okay. It was chilly at night. Kids had a good time.

Great news...my draughts boyfriend is gone to Wyoming and she now says she's done with him....ahh, music to my ears...finally. Only took three years but hey I'm happy now and so are the kids.

My biopsy came out pre cancer so I have to get checked in three months. Dr called me Monday night. Kind of scared me on a holiday.

Mary, so sorry to hear about your neighbor. He's sure been through a lot.

JL, any better? I hope so. Maybe you're getting used to using that left hand more.

Barb in a Co, have fun on your trip. I'm following you on FB.

Thinking of you Jodi. Hope all is well.

Hi barb, what's up with you? You'll have to watch Dancing With The stars or a Survivor next. All the new shows are getting ready to start.

Sure is sad about Joan Rivers. Too much sadness going on.

  38. Hi, HOoters! Well, nothing new going on here. I can go longer without having a pain pill so that's good. My friends, Jane and John, got Chinese take out and brought it all over here to my house so we could have dinner together. That was really nice. We usually have dinner out together on Tuesdays. Jane is taking me to my hair appointment so at least that part of me will look good for a little while. I did manage to use my left hand to put a little mascara on today without poking my eye out.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Dianne, glad your trip was relaxing for you. Sorry to hear about the biopsy. Why don't they just remove it so it doesn't turn into anything serious?

    ReplyDelete
  40. J/L, I'm glad your eye is still in tact. 😏 I guess we'll watch DWTS like Dianne said. Maybe the three of us can watch it together. Although, I think it's on an hour earlier in Denver.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Barb, she did remove it but still wants to keep an eye on the area. I have too many things wrong with me. I think I pay more co pays a week than I do lunches lately.
