This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
I can't believe how cold it is! We had snow flurries this afternoon! It has been raining/snowing with high winds all day.Poor Halloween-ers!! We haven't had trick or treaters here in years. We keep a small candy stash just in case :)
Happy Halloween! I just now realized there was a new blog. LOL I posted a comment in Area 51 in the wee hours. To summarize briefly, I've been sick but doing better now. Tests were run and came out fine.
MARY - We had those same flurries in the wee hours yesterday. I turned out the light at about 7 last night. Only had a couple of pieces of candy left. Thankfully Sam was home to help with the trick or treaters. I somehow was not in the mood!
J/L, Thanks so much for the nice card. My mail is getting here later and later every day. First it was 4/4:30, then 5:00, then 5:30. Tonight checked at 6:00 right before I was leaving for dinner and no mail, but it was there when I got home at 8:30, so I don't know what time it actually got here. Could it be because of all the political crap that the carriers have to deal with now? I mailed my ballot over a week ago, so I have just been throwing all that junk mail away before it even gets to the door.
Barb You're welcome for the card. I'm surprised it took so long to get to you. I had intended to mail it last Saturday while I was ought and about but then realized I had failed to put a stamp on it. I got sick Sunday so gave it to my postman on Monday. I have also noticed that my mail is getting here very late these days. Maybe it is because of all the political mail.
HOdi You weren't in the mood for the kiddos tonight? Did you have very many? I had about 60 but I was prepared for twice as many. I'll keep a few of the candies that I like and probably take the rest over to the animal clinic for the peeps there.
42 years ago, I was going into labor with my daughter.
Mary Unbelievable that you are having snow flurries on Halloween. We had a really good rain last night and this morning which I was very happy and excited about. Boy, do we need it! It was clear skies for the trick-or-treaters. The morning rain didn't dampen the spirits of those attending the celebratory parade and festivities for our World Series Champions San Francisco Giants.
Hi....no Bronco party today as it was my grandsons championship game and my son is the coach. We had a heartbreaking loss of one point in the last four seconds. It's the third year in a row against this team. I really thought we had it this time. The kids were so sad. I think my son was too. I didn't miss much with the terrible Bronco game. Peyton said "he stinks".
We had nice weather all weekend. They are saying possable snow tomorrow. We get no kids on Halloween. My son had a party we went to but we didn't wear costumes. It sure was fun seeing all the adults with their costumes though. My son and DIL were dressed as Pebbles and BamBam. They looked so cute.
Happy Birthday Tina. Hope you enjoyed your trip to Seattle for lunch.
Thanks for the Birthday card, Barb. Boy, it is so nice. It looks like a Hallmark. You do a great job.
Jodi,we took Tammy to a new place called Brothers. It was so-so. It was a sports bar and too noisy but she picked it. Tammy had a date this weekend with a normal person. Exciting!! (That he's normal)
JL, glad you are over the sickness. You probably lost weight on that one. Hurry and jump on that scale!! You are a good girl getting rid of your candy. I've been buying white tootsie rolls like crazy. They only come out at Halloween and I love them. Soooo, I've been on tootsie tolls and prednisone. WW has been lots of fun!!
MARY, almost time for you to leave on your trip. Have a good time.
Dianne, You should have waited until your birthday to open the card! LOL I know I sent it early, but I didn't want to take a chance that I might forget it.
SLIN - I was halfway thru with my shift when you were having your coffee yesterday. 3 more days and then I have a week off. Wish it was for something fun.
Good morning, HOoters! Here I am. Up too early again.
Tonight I'm taking my friends, John and Jane, out to dinner at a nice Italian restaurant. This is gratitude for taking my daughter and I back and forth to the airport as well going to the grocery store a couple times for me when I was sick recently. Oh, and Jane also took my stool sample to the doctor when I was too sick to leave my bathroom. What a friend! I'm glad that episode is behind me.
Today is the day I get my hair done, too. What are you all up to today?
Hey SLIN! How nice of you to take them out for dinner! Worked this morning, have a shift leader meeting at 2, but going to the grocery store and voting before then. That's enough for today I think!
J/L, You know you have a true friend when she will take your poop to the doctor for you. Doing the grocery shopping and trips to the airport were the easy tasks. ;)
I had a late lunch with a friend and an early dinner with my granddaughter. I just had soup and half a sandwich for dinner. My granddaughter came and drove by herself and we had a nice visit. She's so grown up yet so young...if you know what I mean. Then I came home and packed for an overnight trip
My cousin in Texas lost her father in law this week and the family are down by Alamosa. It's about a five hour drive from her so Louis, my brother and his wife, Tammy and I are going down for the funeral. They don't know we are coming. Tammy and I will go in her car and follow the others. Gives me some alone time with Tammy too.
I did my voting a week or so ago in a mail in ballot too. It makes it much easier.
Jodi, good luck to Jake. I hope he does well with his surgery
JL, hope you dinner was fun. Very. I've of you to tske them out. Sounds like good friends. How is that shoulder doing?
Barb, I like to celebrate but I'm not crazy about the age part. I'd like to be about ten years younger. oh well...
Dianne, I'd like to be about 10 years younger, too. I was in better health then. A five hour drive with your daughter will give you a lot of time to have some good conversation. When I rode back from Solvang with my SIL we had some great conversations. We had a good time in Solvang, but there were five other people there also, so we didn't have time to really talk. It was really good to have that one-on-one time in the car with her.
Don't forget tonight is the country music award show...great entertainment. I have my recorder set. Afterwards, jimmy Kimmel is having a special with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Big night tonight!!
Barb, I'm glad we need two cars so Louis, my brother and. SIL can all ride together and talk politics. Tammy and will girl talk about everything. Plus Tammy drives better.
Our elections and amendments turned out okay except we wanted (I) a different Governor. It's still neck and neck but the old one is giving his acceptance speech. Oh well, at least the darn ads are over for awhile.
DIANNE - Sorry for your loss. It will be nice to have that alone time with Tammy, though. And thanks, we have to be at the hospital at 7:15 am. Jake is nervous. Tim didn't help yesterday when he told Jake he would be needing a catheter for surgery. You should've seen the look on his face! lol!! He had no idea. Should be an interesting day.
Hi, Hooters! It's been foggy and drippy today. I had a late lunch with a friend and then went and got my flu shot. I also went to the gross-ry store because I didn't want to have to go on Saturday. I ended up there on Saturday not long ago and, OMG, it was soooo crowded. I forgot how it gets on the weekend.
It's a dreary day here. Hoping for some rain, but none yet.
I went to see Jersey Boys yesterday and, as usual, it was awesome. All that music of the 60's takes me back to such good memories. It's is amazing to me how they could find four guys who sound so much like the original Four Seasons, especially the one who played Frankie Valli.
J/L, I don't shop for anything on the weekend anymore because of the crowds. I made the mistake of going to Costco on the first of the month one time, and that's another thing I won't do again! All the state workers and the welfare folks get paid on the first, and it was a ZOO!
Thanks SLIN and BARB! Jake's nerve block wore off sometime in the wee hours this morning. He's been a trooper, though. They sent him home with morphine to be taken twice a day, and hydrocodone, to be taken every 4 hours. He's getting around well on his crutches and starts PT on Monday.
Happy Halloweenie!!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the belated Birthday wish Tina.
I'm getting a late start today and have lots to do. Have a great day everyone. ♥

ReplyDeleteDIANNE - Glad your girl is doing better without the "creeper"! Where did you go for her birthday dinner?

ReplyDeleteSLIN - That's some friend! Glad you are feeling a bit better pretty lady ♥
ReplyDeleteTINA - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! You've jumped ahead of me again ;)
ReplyDeleteI work now til Wednesday and then Jake's surgery is on Thursday. Boy, that came up quick!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day HOoters ♥
Good grief....BARB I hope I didn't step on you! Ha!!!

ReplyDeleteTina Happy birthday! I hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeleteSLIN - We had about 40. About average for us.
ReplyDeleteJodi, I had a nice birthday dinner with the family. I cracked up at the card they gave me and I just had to post it on FB.
ReplyDeleteTina, I hope you had a nice birthday.
ReplyDeleteBARB - That was a funny card!!!
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - Are you going to a Broncos party today? The Packers don't play this weekend. GO BRONCOS!!
ReplyDeleteIt's 8:21 a.m. and I'm up and have my coffee. What's wrong with this picture?
ReplyDeleteYesterday I took all my leftover Halloween candy to the folks at the veterinary hospital. One of the technicians said her ass thanked me. LOL

Dianne I haven't ever seen a white Tootsie Roll. What do they taste like?
ReplyDeleteDianne, You should have waited until your birthday to open the card! LOL I know I sent it early, but I didn't want to take a chance that I might forget it.
ReplyDeleteBarb After reading Dianne's post, I had to go check my calendar. LOL
ReplyDeleteJL, the tootsie rolls are vanilla. You can only find them at Target here so I buy quite a few bags to last me (not long).
ReplyDeleteBarb, I like getting cards early so I can look at them and display them before my birthday. My dad taught me that many years ago.
DIANNE - So happy for Tammy and her normal date!! Sorry about your grandson's game. And the Broncos...ugh!!
ReplyDeleteSLIN - I was halfway thru with my shift when you were having your coffee yesterday. 3 more days and then I have a week off. Wish it was for something fun.
ReplyDeleteGood morning BARB!!
ReplyDeleteJodi, I am praying that all goes well with Jake's surgery and recovery. :)
ReplyDeleteDianne, I guess it's good to keep the birthday celebration going for as long as you can!
ReplyDeleteBARB - Thank you ♥

Jodi, I mailed my ballot two weeks ago so I wouldn't have to stand in line. Besides, I had a nail and hair appointment today.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry you have to put up with Scottie for another term!
Mary, I hope you are having fun on your trip.

ReplyDeleteBARB - Thanks for the sympathy. My area of the state voted for Mary Burke, but it's all those rednecks "up nort" that voted for Walker. OY!!!
ReplyDeleteI best get showered. I have to wake Jake up in about a half an hour. Please send a prayer up for my boy ♥
ReplyDeleteHOdi Sending prayers and positive thoughts to Jake. Hope all goes perfectly. My brother is having a surgery today, too, for a hernia.
ReplyDeleteThanks SLIN! Surgery went well. Just waiting for him to wake up. Hope your brother's surgery goes ok today.
ReplyDeleteHOdi Glad Jake's surgery went well.
ReplyDelete50!!!

ReplyDeleteMary, It looks like you are enjoying your time in Spain. Loving the pics.
ReplyDeleteThanks SLIN and BARB! Jake's nerve block wore off sometime in the wee hours this morning. He's been a trooper, though. They sent him home with morphine to be taken twice a day, and hydrocodone, to be taken every 4 hours. He's getting around well on his crutches and starts PT on Monday.
ReplyDeleteThankful that I have off til next Thursday! Surprisingly I haven't gotten a call from work!
ReplyDeleteSLIN - Smart move getting your groceries today. Thankfully Paul does most of ours!
ReplyDeleteBARB - I've never seen Jersey Boys, but love the music!
ReplyDeleteHOdi If Jake is on morphine and hydrocodone, you may want to put him on a daily dose of stool softener. Just sayin'...
ReplyDeleteSLIN - Got that before we left the hospital....lol!!!
ReplyDelete
