  2. I had posted this before work in Area 51, but it's worth repeating:

  3. SLIN - Hey pretty lady! Just got home from my in-laws. We had a lovely dinner. I was so proud of myself that I remembered to charge the battery for Sam's camera. BUT, totally forgot to make sure the memory card was in said camera. DOH!!! I guess we are shooting for Monday night. Paul and Tim had cut wood til 2 pm. Tim had brought an outfit to change into, but Paul hadn't. He had crossed past looking like a hot lumberjack to Grizzly Adams....OY!!! I guess maybe it's a good thing it wasn't meant to be ;)

  4. I think I won't have to eat for at LEAST a day. Lol!! Just put my jammies on and hunkered down under my flannel sheets.

Are any of you doing any Black Friday shopping?

  5. Hi..Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Hope everyone had a nice dAy and lots to eat.

Barb in Co..I hope your feeling better and were able to enjoy dinner.

JL..your dinner sounded good. Did you watch the parade this morning? I watch it every year. My dad took me to it when I was two and I sat on his shoulders and watched it. I always think of him when I watch it as he insisted as kids that we watch it.

Jodi...I think another picture day is in the making for you not today. I'm not doing any Black Friday shopping except maybe online. I went by Walmart tonight and the parking lot was packed!! TomORROW I'm taking my middle grandson to lunch for his July birthday. He wants to go to a crab place.

I went to my sons today. Louis is in Virginia until Monday. My daughter and kids were there and my brother and his family. It was a nice day.

I hope to get my Christmas cards done this weekend. I'd also like to clean my office but we shall see if I get both done. Cards are the priority. I even ordered my stamps online.

Tina..I too am thankful you keep our blog going.

Barb...hope you are having a nice day with your son today. How is he feeling?

Hi Mary...I'm sure you cooked tons of food. I saw a list on fb of all the goodies your were making. You are a busy lady cooking.

  6. DIANNE - I may go out a little later. Just made a purchase online. My favorite cardigan sweaters that I get at Target are 80% off. Mine have seen a better day and there is free shipping today. I would like to actually go to the store just to "check it out". I saw online that The Piano Guys have a holiday CD at Target. Love them!!

  7. Dianne Are you up yet? I HOPE I DON'T WAKE YOU! LOL

I'm up at the butt crack of dawn once again waiting for a tech from DISH Network. Every since I got the HD receiver I've been getting period intermittent interference on my local TV channels. It ought to be interesting trying to figure out what the problem is because it's very sporadic. It never happened even once yesterday.

  8. HOdi Now that's the way to do shopping! Isn't it great when you know you like the item, it's in your size, AND it's 80% off! Can't beat that!

  9. Just got back from dinner after visiting my MIL in the hospital. She went out to get the paper this morning and there was ice below the snow on the driveway. Went right down. Sprained her left wrist and cracked her head. My FIL took her to urgent care because her head was bleeding so bad. After giving her 8 stitches to the back of her head, they sent her for a CT scan. She is in the hospital for the night. The scan showed she had a couple of small brain bleeds. She will hopefully be able to go home tomorrow.

    Good night HOoters!

  10. Hi! Peeking in!! I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! And Black Friday! I managed to stay away from the stores today. I need to get back in here more often.

    ReplyDelete
  11. HOdi Yikes! I hope your MIL is okay and able to come home tomorrow. It's a good thing it doesn't snow here. I'd probably fall and break both shoulders.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Bevery Yes, you do need to pop in here more often. I did absolutely no shopping today, not even online. I definitely would not go out among the crowds. I hate shopping under normal circumstances and being with the crowds would really get on my last nerve. It's not worth the aggravation.

  13. BEVERLY!!! So good to see you here! I hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving, too!

    ReplyDelete
  14. SLIN - I don't mind the snow. The ice is what I fear! Have a good weekend pretty lady ♥

  15. The only thing I bought yesterday was diet cokes and excedrin at the CVS. I don't like shopping at all and especially not in the crowds!! Good to be back here. We had a fun day at the track today... didn't win but enjoyed the day with my oldest son and my mom.

  16. BEVERLY - Looks like you all had a good time!

  17. So not looking forward to work today. Praying it goes better than yesterday. We totally got screwed on the schedule, and no one was willing to own it. My Assistant Store Leader was telling me one thing, and my Store Leader was telling me another. Someone was lying to me and I don't think it was my ASL. Made me furious!!! If you've made a mistake, own it. Don't lie to me! What really sucks is that I've had Milissa's back all these months and this is how I get treated. I felt so bad for my team yesterday. It was a truck day, holiday weekend, pizza sale, and a big home game for the Badgers. I texted my old boss Alex and he told me to bring it up in our Leadership Meeting this week. He also reminded me that I would've let him have it. He said I need to let Milissa have it, too. Boy I miss him!!!

  18. Thanks for letting me vent. Time to get prettied up for work and remember to breathe!!!

  19. Jodi,
I hope your day gets better. Find the good in the day as best you can. I can't stand it when people lie either. That is a chicken shit move and no one wins because you won't trust the person again AND it always comes out what really was going on. Take care and have a good one as best you can!

  20. HOdi Everything that Beverly said.

  21. Beverly Maybe HOdi could borrow your "hatchet" to take to the Leadership meeting. That would certainly make an impression. LOL

  22. Jodi, I hope today went better at work. It's really tough when you can't rely on people to tell you the truth, especially when they are only trying to cover their a$$.

  23. J/L, How's the weather at your house? It has been raining here and everyone is very happy about it. We need so much more, though.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Jodi2, I meant to ask about your MIL. Is she still in the hospital?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Beverly, It's good to see you back in the nest.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Mary, Where are you? I bet you are eating Thanksgiving leftovers!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Barb It was raining last night and was raining very hard this morning. Loved laying in bed and just listening to it. It's cleared up now but I think we're supposed to get more soon.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thanks BEVERLY, SLIN & BARB! Yesterday went better, but we were just as thinly staffed! I work a short 4 hour shift today. Not looking forward to seeing Milissa.

    ReplyDelete
  29. BARB - My MIL came home from the hospital on Saturday. She will be fine. Thanks for asking :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. BEVERLY - Definitely found the best in my day. So thankful for Michelle. We worked both days and was equally as frustrated, but we managed to do it with a few laughs!!

  31. Helloooo!!
I was shopping this afternoon. Ugh! I forgot it gets dark early!! Next time I will leave earlier!

I had a VFW Ladies Auxiliary meeting tonight. Good thing I went!
Well, I got a big surprise! Someone asked what was going on New Years Eve, and Tammy, our Treas., said "we're having a band". I thought I heard her wrong so I asked her to repeat, yup, she denied ever asking me to keep that date open just for NYE! She got very defensive when someone else agreed with me. Not one other person said a word! They know how she can be! She has been caught in many lies! (She hated when I stepped down from the Treas. position and she got stuck with it!) I told her the next time I will ask for a deposit because we could have hired out somewhere else for a lot more money. I always did the VFW cheap.
Jodi, I know what you mean by "owning up to it! I think she was hoping I had forgotten since she asked me months ago! I was expecting a few of my Karaoke/DJ followers , so I am contacting them so they won't be disappointed. Oh well, My first NYE at home will be a nice change. We usually work until well over 2am. Bah humbug lol!!

  32. Hi....I've been done nag some shopping too but mostly online. Boy Mary and Jodi, you've been running into some fibbers, haven't you? I don't like those kind of people either!! It usually catches it up with them eventually.

Well, Louis came home tonight. He had fun and I've been one busy gal working around this house. I've been cleaning out things and sorting things. I had the trash outside full tonight and I haven even started my office. I feel so accomplished. I stayed home t night every night while he was gone...quite a surprise. I even have my cards all done..99 of them.

Jodi, I'm glad you MIL is doing better. Our games were sure good yesterday.

Bev..great seeing you in here again. Stay longer this time through.

Barb and JL..glad you are getting some rain. We are having chilly weather but no snow. It's been in the 40's. Itv as 72 on Saturday. JL, don't yell so loud in the AM. You wake me up sometimes and it makes me grouchy. Shhh

    ReplyDelete
  33. MARY - That is so wrong!! I'm sorry, but maybe you and Jim can just have a quiet NYE at home!

    ReplyDelete
  34. DIANNE - First off, yes....great games on Sunday!! GO PACKERS AND BRONCOS!! Secondly, it was slightly awkward when I got to work yesterday. Robert shared the text I sent him with Milissa saying that I thought someone was lying to me. She showed me the scheduling program and I guess we will just have to suck it up and do more with less people. She said her feelings were hurt because I said that I thought she was lying, but I showed her the text saying that I thought "someone" was lying. Clearly it didn't say it was her (even though that was my hunch). I told her my feelings on having her back since she joined our team. I'm just chalking it up to back communication. Our schedule that was in the book said Robert was scheduled 10 - 8. There was not a note saying that he would be working in Madison. I asked her to please make notes on any future shifts that won't be worked at our store. She agreed to this. I think we will be ok, and feel good that she understood where I was coming from.

  35. Good grief....BAD communication!!!

  36. Good Morning Everyone :-)

Looks like everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I was sick with a stomach bug right before, so I was feeling better, but could not eat much. Which is OK. I didn't need to gorge out anyway.

Jodi....Glad to hear your MIL is going to be alright. That could have been much worse for her.

Today I am meeting the lovely Miss Dianne for lunch! I had to cancel our lunch date last week because I was sick. Really looking forward to seeing you Dianne!

Waving a big HELLO to everyone!

  37. Looked in the last postings comments.

Jodi....Looks like I was coming down with something! I guess that is why I was so tired last Monday. It was that night that I started throwing up. I'm not as tired now.

JLin....Yes I do have a big tub. Love it! Thats funny about soaking in your big tub and then not being able to get out of it!

  38. It was raining cats and dogs all night. It's still raining now but not as hard as it was. I loved hearing it during the night and this morning while I was still in bed. It's supposed to get heavy again later. I'm going to Red Lobster for dinner tonight with a friend. I hope it isn't raining too hard during that time. Not fond of driving on the freeway during bad weather. Too many people don't drive appropriately for the conditions.

  39. HOdi I'm glad you were able to air things with Milissa and that she was receptive to your suggestions. Communication is so important to all types of relationships.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Mary Speaking of communication.....sounds like your new treasurer isn't good at it. I hate when people pull a fast one like that. On the bright side, maybe it will be a really crappy night to go out and you will be safe and snug as a bug at home.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Dianne Well, you sure have been a busy bee! That's probably why I had to yell to you. You must have been so busy that you didn't hear me. I worked a little bit more on my cards last night. I'm more than half way through now.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Barbara in COviaWA I'm sorry you weren't well for Thanksgiving. You were hosting, right? I hope you had plenty of help in the kitchen and especially for cleaning up.

My tub is just standard size but I am king size. That's part of the problem. At my age and size, it's not easy for me to get up off the floor, let alone out of a slippery tub. I did manage without assistance but it was very awkward.

    ReplyDelete
  43. JLin.....I hosted Thanksgiving for all of 2 people....me and hubby! We stayed home this year.

Had a great lunch with Dianne :-) Thanks for making time for me! I didn't have to drive all the way to Michaels or Target for the mini tree. Decided to swing by Home Depot and they had exactly what I needed! Now I need to decorate that one and the silver tree and I'm done!

    ReplyDelete
  44. BARB IN COviaWA - So sorry you weren't feeling well for Thanksgiving. At least we know your tired state is because you aren't preggers ;)

    ReplyDelete
  45. P.S. Love that you and DIANNE had lunch. Wish we all were closer to do exactly that!

  46. We had so much rain in a short time that it caused flooding all over town, plus trees toppled, some on houses or cars! It's feast or famine! It even caused a big sink hole in the middle of a San Francisco street. Mother Nature does not like us!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Barb We had a tree fall down on our main little boulevard here. It landed on a car. No one was hurt but the SUV is destroyed.

Oh, and my gardeners showed up today and worked in the rain. When the rain got super heavy for about 30 minutes, they waited in their truck. I sure wouldn't have wanted to be working outside today.
