This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
J/L, I'm glad you able to get your undies exchanged. I first wrote that I was glad you were able to get your undies changed, but that sounded like you just had dirty underwear. LOL I really need to buy some new underwear, too. Most of mine are so old the elastic is all stretched out and they barely stay up.
Barb Thanks for alerting me to a new blog. I remember when I was in kindergarten, running on the blacktop at recess and having my underwear slip down due to old, stretched out elastic. You don't want that to happen to you. LOL
Well, my body was in total revolt this week! Monday I felt the worst. Thankfully the ickies didn't settle in my chest. Been sneezing my fool head off, and I've gone thru a whole box of Kleenex. In between shifts this week, I just slept and slept.
Thursday I helped Alex move out of his and Dustin's apartment. I was scheduled for a shift leader meeting in the afternoon, but with the blessing of my District and Store Leaders, I was excused.
SLIN - Love the story you shared about you and your mother. Not sure I would have been that adventurous!! I just saw pics posted this morning of the entrance of the place we stayed in Kauai. A guy is full on paddle boarding down the street. Yikes!!
BARB - Now that I'm feeling better, it's good to be back in a routine. This is the first weekend that I've worked since July!!! I'm so thankful to have had all the time off I did in August. Enjoy the last few days with Chad!
I best go hoist and rinse. My new Asst Store Leader is doing books today, and we have a lot to review from when I was gone. Thank God for coffee!! lol!
HOdi I'm glad you're feeling better and that the cold didn't go to your chest. My chest is my vulnerable spot when I get sick. Of course, it was much worse when I smoked.
It must have been difficult and emotional to move Alex's stuff out of Dustin's apartment. You are a good friend to be there for Alex for the emotional part as well as the physical.
Part of what I find so funny about my mother and I hitchhiking is that she absolutely hated having the wind mess up her hair. Well, her hair was flying all over the place as we barreled along in the back of that pickup. When we first asked the young couple for a ride to find Oreos, they were walking out of a closed and dark shopping center. There were only a few cars in the lot. When they discussed it with each other and then said yes but we would have to sit in the back, we thought, fine. We had assumed they had a car, not a truck. LOL
JL, that is so funny about you and your mom. I can just picture it. Boy, the guys would have been worried if they ever knew. Fun memories!!
We're in a Grand Lake this weekend and having great weather. It's in the low 70's. Perfect. We saw a big bull moose walking right through the campgrounds. I enjoy spending time with Tammy and the girls. Kaylas boyfriend was here with his dad and step mom but he got in an argument with his dad so his mom drove all the way up here to get him...about three hours. He stayed on our couch last night. He has a very strange home life. I'm not nuts about him to be Kayla's boyfriend but no one is checking with me.
Jodi, I'm so glad you're feeling better. I'm glad you held off getting sick until u got home. Sleep is probably just what u needed. Sometimes routine is good. It's sad about Alex. You are sure a good friend. So are you having to train someone new again on books? Seems like you do that a lot. Go get your flu shot ...they are already out.
Mary, loved your pictures of the wedding. The video was beautiful. I'll bet you all had a great time. Aren't you glad you had that hotel for the night?
Barb, not many more days for Chad to be there. It's so nice that he was able to come spend all that time with you. You have a good son. Don't overdo when he leaves. Those kittens will keep you busy. No twisting.
Everyone's sound asleep here. I'm awake because I napped for a long time today. We went out to dinner last night and I had salmon and rice and got that in without breaking the bridge again. Tonight we brought Olive Garden ravioli for Louis and I and Tammy and her friends went to dinner. Tomorrow night we are having an Italian dinner. I should be good with it. I was assigned dessert and wine. We brought a carrot cake and Tammy got the wine for me.
Can't believe I have wifi up here. We usually don't. Ok, guess I'll go to sleep now.
DIANNE - Glad you are having a good time! We had trained Adam on books when he first started at my store, but I feel bad for the guy. He really didn't get enough time. Good thing I was there yesterday. It was horrible after our Store Leader Milissa had done them on Friday. I will be having a "come to Jesus" meeting with her on Monday! lol!!! Sleep well lady ♥
Dianne I'm glad you are enjoying yourself and that you have been able to eat. Keeping my fingers crossed that there are no teeth or bridge problems while you are there. I've never had ravioli at Olive Garden but I absolutely love their Zuppa Toscana.
It looks like it's going to be a beautiful day here today. Maybe I should put on my knee length shorts and try to get sun on my lower legs. I was wearing them the other day when I went and picked up some Mexican food for dinner. I'm surprised I didn't blind anybody with my whiteness.
HOdi It sounds like Melissa needs a whole lot more training, too. Does she ever do it right? Are there any written step-by-step instructions that they can refer to?
Barb Are you ready for tonight's drama on Bachelor in Paradise? Ha! These shows are better than any soap opera.
Did you ever clarify with your doctor about the whole permission to drive but you can't twist situation? Do you think just using your rear view and side mirrors would be enough?
J/L, I don't think just using the mirrors will be enough. I may try it again and see how it works. I hate being housebound and I get cabin fever easily! I did ask the doc about it but all I got was "as long as you don't twist."
Jodi, You are such a good friend to Alex. I know you were good friends with him and Dustin, so was it awkward helping Alex? It's too bad they couldn't work it out!
I'm home. Lots of traffic and we left at 10am. We went about 10mph for miles. I'm glad we left early as tonight will be a mess with everyone coming home. The colors are already starting to change. I think we might have an early winter...I sure hope not as I love fall.
It was a nice weekend with Tammy and the girls and the other couple. I love being around the kids. Now I'm finally getting around to doing the laundry and not leaving it for later. I had to take my nap when we got home.
What r u all up to today? Mary, r u all pooped out from the wedding?
JL, Olive Garden is having their buy one get one free right now.
DIANNE - Glad you got home safe. Tim was up in Marshfield with Uncle Mark for a horse show this weekend. They decided to not fight the traffic yesterday, especially pulling a horse trailer. I've seen a few trees turning color here. Today is going to be our last really warm day. We are going to be in the high 60's by Friday.
Hi, HOoters! It was a warm day here yesterday so I sat out in the sun for a while reading my book. Kindle, actually. Anyway, it doesn't take long for this white skin to grow bright pink. It has settled down now and I'm actually getting a little bait of a tan. I will be going to southern California in a couple of weeks and so I wanted to at least have a little color on me when I'm there. It will be hot and I will be showing off parts of my skin that don't normally see light of day here. LOL I guess that's a bit of an exaggeration but I do have to dress lighter when I'm there. It's supposed to be another warm day here today and by that I mean high 70's, maybe even 80.
Howdy all! I HAVE HAD WAY TOO MANY IRONS IN THE FIRE LATELY LOL! OK,I just noticed I had my caps on. I am NOT going to start over! LOL!
The wedding was wonderful! All went as planned. No one knew Raquel was going to sing. I mean no one but her Dad! Thus no one was prepared to record her! Luckily I quickly turned on my cell vid. Now she wants a copy, so does her Mom. Her friends, who are not my friends ,couldn't see it on her wall, so I had to "unlock" it and make it public. She really should have had one of her photographers video it professionally! They are on a cruise for their honeymoon. Not a good idea during typhoon season! I sure hope they have good weather!
My son and I went to pick out some new flooring for the hallway. Jim is not too hot on the idea. He likes carpet, but it is just too hard to keep up with it. I am begrudgingly keeping carpet in our bedroom! My next project is the carpeted stairway and bathroom floor, also need a new turlet :)
Next Monday we leave for Vegas.
JL,I chuckled when you said " I'm surprised I didn't blind anybody with my whiteness." A little "glow" will look good on you especially if you have a "full" tan kwim? ;-)
Dianne, I am glad you had a good time over the week end. Now get busy with that laundry!! :) I never put it off! The pile only gets bigger eh?
Jodi, You have been a busy gal too! You are one awesome Mamma to your kids and their friends. You will be doing much more of that as time goes on lol!
SacBarb, When I was a little girl I remember wearing underwear with holes! My Dad only took us shopping once a year, just before school. I remember my budget was $50. I think underwear was low on my list lol! I always envied the gals that wore matching pleated skirts, socks and mohair sweaters. When I was old enough to get a job in the summer, I bought my first bright red mohair sweater. Love that thing lol!!
Hi...laundry all done last night. Now I'm getting ready to spend some time in my office...briefly. Went to lunch and Walmart today. I wanted a new curling iron and found it. I did drop by Sonic for Louis's dinner as cheeseburgers were half price today and they are pretty good.
Btw, did you all hear McDonalds is going to start serving breakfast all day in October? I think that's a good idea to keep up with their competition. Also, I occasionally like a sausage mc muffin but never make the breakfast cutoff.
Mary, the wedding looked lovely. It is too bad the singing wasn't recorded. Good thing you were thinking so fast. I hope they a have a fun honeymoon. I was looking for your pretty picture at the wedding but didn't see it. Mary, any layover in Denver next week?
JL, sounds like you are going to be wearing some pretty skimpy clothes on your trip!! Your not going pole dancing again are you? When do you leave? All of you going on trips....I want to go on one. We don't have anything planned until May and that's much too long. I wish I could hop a cruise in November and come back in January. I then wouldn't have to worry about who Is where for holidays!!
Well Barb, I think today is the day Chad leaves. Hope you are feeling safe on your own. Glad you have those kittens to play with and keep you company. Remember....no twisting.
Jodi, looks like you have pretty toes and fingers. I do like the Bronco blue. Maybe you should have done the other hand green!!! I got the usual pink and white but had a little flower and jewel on a finger on each hand...please no, white and a tiny green...looks pretty.
Mary That was great that you got your cell phone out in time to record your niece singing. How very special. She looked very beautiful in that wedding dress.
I've ordered a new front door but it will be a few weeks until it is here. That needs to be put in before I have the house painted which I am stressing about getting done before the rainy season starts. That's hoping we actually have rains. Meanwhile, I will be going to So. Calif. on 9/20 an return the evening of 9/29. I will also go down there again in early November for my 50 year high school reunion. I'm just hoping to get the door in and the painting done somewhere in between.
Dianne No, I will not be wearing anything skimpy. Those days are long gone but I will be wearing knee length shorts and short sleeves. I expect it to be quite hot while I'm there as it always is at this time of year. Looks like I will be going to my brother's softball games every Thursday and Friday nights and his pool volleyball games on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons. I wish I was half as active as he is.
JL, sounds like you'll be getting a tan at your brothers activities. Take your sunscreen. I still think you should come see me when it snows so u can see how pretty it is...:)
Dianne I'm sure it's beautiful. I'm not much of a snow bunny. I was once in Denver for an hour or so for a layover. The only other time was when I was there with my husband-to-be for a Homicide Detective Association Conference. That was certainly interesting. Those guys and gals were real heavy drinkers and jokesters. One of the departments (probably Denver) brought a casket and paraded it through a fancy restaurant like a funeral procession with a cop in it popping up and asking, "Don't I look life-like?". They all thought that was hilarious. I did get to attend a couple of the serious training sessions and that was interesting.
Tina, That is the first time I have heard that song. It brought the tears, but thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteDianne, I hope your weekend goes without any more dental issues so you can enjoy the family.
ReplyDeleteJ/L, I'm glad you able to get your undies exchanged. I first wrote that I was glad you were able to get your undies changed, but that sounded like you just had dirty underwear. LOL I really need to buy some new underwear, too. Most of mine are so old the elastic is all stretched out and they barely stay up.

ReplyDeleteMARY - The wedding looked beautiful! I loved the video you posted of Raquel singing. She has a lovely voice!

ReplyDeleteSLIN - I really need to make said instructions. And for Milissa, well I better break it down in crayon drawings. Lol!!
ReplyDeleteBARB - Alex will always come first, so it was not awkward. He also gave me permission to "mother" Dustin if he asks.
ReplyDeleteI'm home. Lots of traffic and we left at 10am. We went about 10mph for miles. I'm glad we left early as tonight will be a mess with everyone coming home. The colors are already starting to change. I think we might have an early winter...I sure hope not as I love fall.
