  1. Hello.....where are you all ? I’m here. Went to ww today but didn’t weigh in just went to meeting. It hasn’t been pretty this last week ever since vacation...I just can’t get back on track. I’ve had so many bday lunches and dinners this week that I’m just not doing very good.

How are you all feeling? Barb and JL....are you still coughing? Hope it’s clearing up.

Mary, hows that knee doing? Still doing pt? My Ins approved me for three more sessions for my back. I’m glad as they denied me a few weeks ago.

Trying to get all my Christmas presents organized and wrapped. I got the ones out in the mail yesterday so there’s one thing done.

  2. I’m here Dianne! I am in bed. I had a long day. Got my hair did . It was a bit uncomfortable sitting
In the chair. Walked around a couple of times. My drive home was terrible ! The fog was so heavy you could barely see more than 2 Car lengths ahead!
My pain is getting a bit more manageable. Glad I have 3 days before my next PT.
Zoie gets her “paw De cure” tomorrow.
My last pkg came today. I have pile of gifts to wrap ! I only have 5 more cards to finish. I hope I didn’t
    Forget anyone!
For some reason my appetite is messed up. I have lost weight. Nothing tastes good.
    Nite all !!!

  3. Whew, I thought I lost my post! I don’t usually post here from my phone.

  4. Mary...glad your pain is easing up. How much PT do you have left? Go Thursday I think. Are you getting your bend better? ITV doesn’t seem like you had any down time with your knee recovery. You’re one tough gal! How’s Matthew doing? We have been sorting and wrapping all night. What a darn mess. I can’t remember who some of the presents go too. I have just some small things to wrap this weekend.

Barb and I are going to the movie tomorrow to see the new Clint Eastwood movie Mule. We’re going to breakfast and then movie. Bronco game is on tomorrow night.

Barb, getting those cards finished up? How are the cats all doing together now?

    JL....whats up?

  6. Dianne I had to laugh at your remark that you can't remember who some of the gifts go to. I do recall switching things around a couple of times in the past but that was usually with little stocking stuffer items. Speaking of which, I was looking for gift bags and a couple more stocking stuffers so I popped into the dollar store yesterday. While I was looking at stuff on a shelf, an older gentleman passed by me and stopped a few feet away to also look at the same shelf. He was dressed very nice, kind of like a old professor type. Anyway, he proceeded to fart....loud and repeatedly for quite some time. I almost wondered if I was on a new version of Candid Camera. He finally moved along, tooting all the way. Fortunately, there was no smell as I was worried someone else would come along and blame me for it. LOL

  7. Mary I hate driving in the fog. I'm glad you got home safely.

I'm also glad you were able to do something for yourself...get your hair done. The part that bothers me the most is when they wash the dye out of my hair. Even though they put towels at the behind my next for cushioning, I still find it really uncomfortable on my neck. Maybe I was guillotined in a past life. I one quarter French.....

I hope Matthew's hand is healing nicely. That reminds me.....Are you taking anything at night to help you sleep? If so, maybe that's what is throwing off your appetite. I wish I could say I'm losing weight but I'm not. At least I'm holding steady.

  8. Barb Today is a gray day. We're supposed to get a storm coming through tomorrow sometime. I am going to need more sugar and flour for what all I still have to bake so I guess I should get that done today so I can concentrate on just baking after that. I have cut down on the number of types of things I'm making this year. I got a late start, what with being sick and all. Do I say that every year? I suspect I do. So far I've just done one batch of peanut butter with Hershey Kiss cookies and a large pan of fudge. I will probably have to do one more of each of those. Today I will make Spritz cookies which have sentimental value to me and my brother. We always loved those the best along with the fudge. My grandkids like them but really just the ones that have a well of raspberry jam in them so I will make up a bunch of dough and use half just for that type for the kids and the half I will make the usual variety for my brother. My daughter is only interested in getting some fudge.

My daughter and I went to the Cirque Du Soleil show on Saturday and so that was fun. I was especially impressed by a woman who performs in the air hanging by her hair.

  9. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARY! Sounds like you started celebrating early with your new tv and treats from your sister. They looked yummy. I hope you’re not cooking today. Never cook on your birthday !! Any easy plans for the day? Hope you have a nice day. Btw, Cleveland beat us last night by one point in our stadium! There was a poll on tv and 73% of call ins said they’d rather lose our last three games if it meant getting rid of our coach! Pretty sad I wish my appetite wasn’t so big.

JL, glad you had fun with your daughter last weekend. Hanging by your hair does not sound like a hobby I’m taking up....especially with short hair...lol. I thought you were going to say the older man wanted your phone number not have gas! I’d be afraid people would think it was me just like you thought. Guess you didn’t ask him for his number either!

Barb, so glad to see you. Yes, it had been a long time. I hope I don’t annoy you all too much when I nudge. Sounds like you got your cards all done. How many do you make? Yes, it sounds like you’ve been busy. Are you feeling good now?

I’m going for a pedicure and then try and finish up my wrapping today....I’m planning that is....

  10. Mary Happy birthday! I agree with Dianne that you shouldn't have to cook today unless your favorite food is something only you cook. I wish I lived closer so I could take you out. We'd have to move your birthday to a different time of year if I was the one driving, though. I don't want to drive in fog or snow or rain storms. Speaking of rain storms, we have one on the way today. The wind is starting to kick up now. Anyway, I hope you have a good day whatever you do.

  11. Dianne I don't mind if you nudge me. Sometimes I need it as time gets away from me.

I did so much baking yesterday that my back hurts today. I made 12 dozen Spritz cookies with the cookie press and then made a whole other batch of the peanut butter with Hershey Kiss cookies. My plan has been to make some chocolate chip cookies today but we shall see how it goes. This is proof that cooking can be dangerous to your health.

  12. Barb How's it coming with those cards? I'm feeling stressed about getting stuff I need to get packaged up and mailed for Christmas. I go through this every year. Bah, Humbug!

Except for the possibility of making more cookies, I plan to stay in and take it easy today. The incoming storm will be my excuse. I'll be snug as a bug except for when the dog needs to go out and refuses due to weather. Then I'll have to venture outside with her.

A FB friend got contacted on Messenger by a someone with a phone in Nigeria using my photo and name. Grrrrr.... I'm not clear if they hacked my photo or if they were in her account and picked me out of her friends. Whatever.... I do recall in the news recently that FB said photos had be stolen by hackers.

  13. My good friend and her hubby called and asked us to go to dinner last night. They are the ones who were so good to me during Jim's hospital stay.
She brought me a nice crock of stew after my knee surgery. They were married a few years before Jim and I.
Barb, Dianne nags me too lol! Good hearing from you. It is a busy time a year. I know you didn't forget us, heaven forbid Dianne would prolly grab a jet plane and "nudge" you in person lol!

JustLin, Are you sure "fart guy" didn't smell? Maybe your sniffer is off lol!
I have been to a few cirque Du Soleils in Vegas. It always has me mesmerized!
What is in the recipe to the spritz cookies. They sound great!

Dianne, Ouch on wanting to lose the remaining games! We are having the same problem except we have no worries about winning any future games lol!
I made breakfast this morning. I didn't feel like eating much after that. Matthew and I had pizza leftovers. Jim decided he wanted a hamburger so I made him one. Woopie lol! Jim bought me a card and a few lottery tickets. Didn't win anything. Matthew spent over $100 dollars more than Jim lol, but that's not unusual for him.

Tomorrow is my next to the last PT. Yay!! I am sleeping better. I still wake up in the middle of the night, but can get back to sleep. My pain comes and goes. Sometimes I walk just fine, no cane or pain. Other times, like grocery shopping I need the cart to hold onto and have pain. Weird!

Raquel has invited us to her home on Christmas day. It's a long drive, but we need to deliver a lot of gifts and I miss my new little Niece, Myla :)
Where will you ladies be spending Christmas?

  14. Hi....Mary, I’m not nagging ....I’m nudging. It’s different. Hmm, I wonder if Louis would agree with me? Well, it sounds like you had a nice bday today and last night too. You didn’t tell us how Matthews hand is doing. Is he able to go back to work yet? We are spending Christmas afternoon and dinner at my sons. We are going to my friends house late Christmas morning. They have recently started raising their five year old grandson. We like to take a few gifts to him. Tammy and her family are leaving Saturday for the Dominion Republic for a week. We will celebrate Christmas when they come home. Doesn’t thrill me to wait until after Christmas but everyone’s so busy.

JL, I wish had energy to be baking. Of course, then I’d eat it too. Not good! Oh boy, you would hate driving here sometimes. We don’t usually get fog but snow and ice we snow sure do...

  15. Matthew's hand is coming along good. He wanted to go back to work, but Dr said, not until Jan. 9th. I an tell he is getting antsy!
I just happened to noticed on the main blog pg. that we have 43 followers.Kind of spooky lol!
I didn't do bad in PT today. Prolly because I took a pain pill. My appetite is still off. I didn't eat much today. I just had some lemon & ginger tea and 2 ginger snaps because I was feeling woozy after changing Jim's bedding. He keeps it hot in there and has a queen size bed. It was a lot of running back and forth . I feel better now. Heading to bed. Tomorrow I have to wrap gifts or I will be rushing around and getting dizzy again lol!
    Later....

  16. Helloooooo! I was afraid Dianne would come after me so I decided to check in lol! JK Dianne :)
I am so glad PT is over! I can do most exercises at home. One of my therapists Char, was in an accident on her way to work on my last day. I noticed she wasn't there. I heard the gals talking about an accident close, so I got nosy and asked. I guess Char's car was hit from behind pretty hard. Cars were stopped to allow another car to make a turn. The young gal behind Char was texting and didn't notice cars had stopped and plowed into Char, who then hit the car in front of her starting a chain reaction! Char's head rest flew through her back window, and her air bag didn't go off, which may have saved her baby who is due in a couple of months! I will have to stop by and see how she is.

I sure do tire easily! I need my perky ole self back!
    Time to wrap more gifts!

  17. Mary Hellooooo to you, too. It has been empty here lately. I guess everyone is involved in the last minute stress and rush to get everything done by Christmas.

That's terrible about Char's accident and rather concerning that her air bag didn't go off. I wonder why. What a scary accident. People are so stupid to be doing something on their cell phone while driving. That young lady could have killed somebody. Hopefully, this scared her enough to change her ways.

I hope you are starting to feel better and are getting your appetite back. Speaking of appetite, it's supposed to rain here tomorrow night and I'm thinking of making beef stew. That just sounds really good to me.

Oh, to answer your question..........Spritz cookies are just the little cookies you make using a cookie press. Recipes can be found in most cook books and certainly there are a lot of them online. I happened to use the one that came with my cookie press. There are small variations in the recipes but the few that I've tried all end up tasting the same.

  18. Dianne Well, I see that Tammy's family is off to the Dominican Republic for the holidays. That will be a change for you all. One of my high school friends and her family go to Costa Rica for the holidays. I guess that works for them. Someday I'd like to go to Limon, Costa Rica, to the sloth sanctuary. I think that would be interesting.

I can't remember if I told you that my daughter and I decided to definitely go on the 10 day Mexican cruise in late February. We've made our final payment so are committed now. It takes 10 days because it starts up here in San Francisco which is easy for us. We looked at the 7 day ones out of LA but when you add airfare and baggage charges, the 7 day one would cost the same as the great deal we got on the 10 day one. thank goodness for credit cards. LOL

  19. Barb Are we going to have to send out a search party for you? Sic Dianne on you? LOL

You must be very busy trying to get ready for Christmas. I was very relieved to get all my stuff done. I do actually have all the stuff I need to make a whole other batch of fudge but I don't know if I'll do it or why I would except to eat it all myself. LOL Maybe I'll make it for Valentine's day and send it out then.

A few nights ago I rented "Black Klansman" On Demand. It was a very good movie based on true events. What an interesting story and I find myself still thinking about things they brought up in the movie. Parts of it were funny but parts were deadly serious. I think on Christmas Eve, besides making beef stew, I will rent something light to watch such as "Crazy Rich Asians". I'm interested in seeing the movie "Vice". Maybe after the holidays I'll get to the theater for that one.

  20. Hi.....looks like you are all scared of me now..! Beware ..

JL, yes Tammy and group left last night. They invited us to go and Andy and Wendy wanted to pay for us..which was extremely nice. I just didn’t want to go as we will be leaving again in a couple of weeks, too hot for me and to be truthful the kids can drink at 18 there and I don’t care to watch my granddaughters go crazy! We will be going to Todd’s Christmas afternoon with his wife’s family ....many of them. We’re going an hour early to do their Christmas with them. We’re going to my dear friend Kathy and Norm’s about 11am to spend some time with them. They are raising their 5-1/2 year old grandson and I always get him a few things. It should be a nice day. Louis and I are going for Chinese dinner early tomorrow evening so we will be home for 6:15 kickoff to watch the Broncos to play the Raiders. I doubt it will be a very pretty game. Crazy Rich Asians is a really good and funny movie. I signed up for a month free trial of Netflix tonight so I could watch the movie Dumplin’ . It has Jennifer Aniston in it with Dolly Parton songs. It was very cute if you happen to have it. No, you didn’t tell us you decided for sure about your cruise. I’m glad you’re going. That’s how it was for us for Hawaii. We leave from LA and are at sea for five says which is fine with us. It would have cost us more to fly there and we’d rather be on the ship. It’s bad enough we have to pay to fly to LA. We’re going the day before and were able to get a package deal through Princess. It even includes flying first class. I’m looking forward to it but I don’t love the airports. All the transfers are included too. Yum, I wish I was by you..I’d come right over and get some cookies and fudge.

  21. Mary, I sure hope your pain is better. Are you enjoying that new tv? If you have a Netflix, look up that movie. What are you doing for Christmas? Cooking? How’s Matthew doing? It sure was great to see the dr released Jim. Wow, that accident your therapist was in sounds terrible. These cell phones drive me crazy in cars with the texting. It’s so dangerous and you see it all the time. I went to pt on Thursday for my back. The therapist gave me all new me all new exercises. She did an ultra sound thing on my back and it made it feel a lot better for a few minutes. My insurance gave me three visits but I’m pretty good doing the exercises at home. I’ll bet you’re glad to be graduated. Any idea of when next vegas trip will be for you both?

I have a really early dr appt tomorrow. My throat has been scratchy and a little cough so I just want to be sure it’s not going into anything. I worry about strep or bronchitis. I think I’m a whimp.

Barb, I see you were able to get your Christmas cards out this weekend. I’ll be that is a relief to you. It’s been a crazy year for you. I have a feeling your team is going to beat us tomorrow night. We are not good at all. I think (hope) our coach will be gone after this season. I’ve been watching the Chiefs and Seahawks tonight. Boy, those two teams are really good. Are you cooking for Christmas? How are you feeling?

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.
