My husband sent me an email saying he was concerned
that we have communication issues.
I immediately sent an Instant Message asking him to clarify.
He messaged me on Facebook saying not to worry but sometimes
we’re not as connected as he’d like.
I tweeted that I loved him more than anything.
He sent over
a text that said he loves me too.
So I leaned over and kissed him good night . . .
Upper-nester of the day! I better post before someone steps on me lol!!!
ReplyDeleteI bought some crock-pot liners today.I keep forgetting to get them!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried them, but wanted to sue them for the benefit tomorrow. I will
be taking my own crock-pot. I have had to wash many after functions! Not fun!
I am just wondering if they burn when food is over heated.
Today has been pretty quiet. It is still hot during the day, but very pleasant in the early morning & night.
Dam, I forget who brought up the cataract issue and I am too lazy to go back to area 51 lol!
Anywhooo, Thanks for the info. I will def. do both at the same time. Jim would be driving, so, best I don't see lol! I drove when he had his done (separately). It was in Jackson, quite a ways from home. I told my eye Dr to please keep us closer to home, or at least someplace familiar to us. He named a town about40 miles away. I know that are better.
Today is Jim's turn to cook, which means take out lol! No cooking today!! He usually picks pizza. I think he is getting fish baskets tonight.
Can you tell I am dyslectic? I tend to reverse letters and numbers. I don't want to "sue" the benefit lol, but "use them" at the benefit. Geesh!
ReplyDeleteMary Congrats on being #1 and you didn't even get stepped on. LOL
ReplyDeleteI believe Barb is the one having cataract surgery in October. I should get my eyes checked again at some point. I know I had the beginnings of cataracts and it doesn't seem like it's gotten worse. Maybe I am in denial as I am sure the change is so subtle as they worsen that you really don't notice it happening. I think I will wait a while as I feel I am done with doctors for now. Today I had a bone density test and earlier this month I had my annual physical and blood work.
Your rice sounds delish, by the way.
Barb I do believe you can find the crock pot liners near the Ziplocs and plastic wraps, etc. I don't know if they can be used with Insta-pots or not. I only have a crock pot and I very rarely use it, especially now that I live alone. Most things that I cook that might be in a larger quantity (like homemade soups) I end up just using a dutch oven on the stove top.
ReplyDeleteHow's the weather where you are? My son is in Merced and they were expecting 108* today. Way too hot for me. Too hot for him, too, actually.
Dianne Are you all ready for your 55 year reunion tomorrow? I hope that sore throat you had is all cleared up now.
ReplyDeleteI see that Tammy and James got on their ship today. Like you, I wish I was going. I love Alaska cruises. So beautiful! I need to get my darn credit card paid down before I start thinking of cruises again.
So you and Louis are going to New Mexico just for the purpose of seeing your Texas Tenors group? Boy, you really are a super fan now, aren't you. And a meet and greet, to boot! I bet you are more excited about that than you are about the high school reunion.
Mary, I am the one having cataract surgery in October. I also learned that there are three types of lenses they can use: Single focus lens where I will still wear glasses after; Toric lens which corrects astigmatism and will cost $1,500 per eye because insurance doesn’t cover it; and multi-focal lens which costs $2,500 per eye. I am definitely going to go with the single focus lens. I am used to wearing glasses and I will just continue to wear them after the surgery. That’s just way too much $$$.
ReplyDeleteJ/L, I think it was 105 here yesterday and today. Tomorrow’s forecast is 108.
ReplyDeleteThe Jennifers and I are going to see the movie Yesterday, tomorrow. We’ll be in a nice cool theater. We finished making the cards for Jen N. She joined us today. We ended up making six different designs and 12 cards of each design. Jen will use six cards of each design for her swap and Jen, Jenn, and I also have two cards of each design. We also celebrated Jen’s birthday at Season’s 52 Restaurant.
This is the last weekend of the State Fair and Chad was going to go last night, but decided it was too hot. He is not adjusting well to the heat after being in Seattle for almost 25 years.
Dianne, we will need a complete report on your reunion.
ReplyDeleteDianne,Like SacBarb said, we want the "rest of the story" about your Reunion!
ReplyDeleteSacBarb Well crap, I was hoping my BBS ins. would cover it! I may have to put it off a bit. I too wear glasses. I only have trouble seeing close up or driving in the rain at night.
JLin, After reading Barb's cataract surgery price I will hold off too. I too am tired of Drs. Unfortunately my yearly physical is due , so there is that lol! We just found out our family Dr is retiring. I really liked him. I now have to go to his partner. He is ok, I'm just not liking having to "break him in" lol!!
The benefit went very well and my rice went fast. Someone had made some. It didn't even look good! The made it with box mix, Rice a Roni. I saw the boxes there.
I have this pet peeve that drives me crazy! We were sitting at a big round table with a couple gals and 2 friends of ours. The two gals put their huge bag type purses in the middle 0f the table! Who knows where those purses have been! I am guessing they put them on the floor in the bathroom. I read somewhere that some put them on the floor in the airplane bathrooms eeeewwwww. I couldn't help but stare at the dam things and kept my plate and utensils far away from the center.
Rant over lol!
Mary Did you notice that the prices for cataract surgery that Barb was writing about were for "fancy" lenses, not just the regular single lens. Check with your insurance before you make a decision based on cost.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I like Rice A Roni Spanish Rice. LOL I'm sure yours is better but I think it's pretty tasty and easy.
Hi....well, I made it through the reunion. I was so nervous on our way there. We have name badges with our high school picture on it. My two friends weren’t there yet so we were on our own. Many people came right up to me hugging me, etc. I was comfortable right away. It ended up being a really fun night. We got home about 9. They did a group picture that I wasn't going to be in as I just can’t stand that long. They put a chair in front for me and for another guy on a cane. We had a cash bar and appetizers. Remember the group that wanted me to go in that limo on Friday? Well,, 8 of them went and they had fun but said it was really hard to crawl into limo and air not working so it was about 98 in there. Hmm, sorry I missed That...not! The women are pretty recognizable but the men sure aren't...it seems like they are kind of old..lol. They read the deceased names and did a little trivia. Anyway..it was suggested we have another one in two years when we all will be 75 rather than wait five more years. I think it sounds like a good idea. One guy told Louis he had a gem being married to me! Nice compliment.
ReplyDeleteBarb, glad to see you liked the movie. Barb and I really liked it too. Louis and I both had the cataract where we only wear reader glasses. It was a big change for Louis as he'd always worn glasses. I don’t remember what ins paid on it as it’s been awhile. Boy, you’re really having hot weather. We are in the mid 90’s with rain almost every afternoon. It’s hard to keep the car decent.
ReplyDeleteJL, yes...I’m a true fan of TTT. I’m lucky Louis likes them too. Yes, you were exactly right that I was more excited for New Mexico than the reunion. They sold out the concert the night we’re going so have added another night. I “casually” mentioned to Louis tonight that maybe we should go a day earlier. It didn't fly with him. Does your brother like that hot weather? I’m getting a lot of ads advertising Christmas in July things. I’m not ready for that holiday quite yet!
Mary, do check with your ins on the cataract thing. You may be pleasantly surprised. I’ll bet your rice was gone in a second and much better than the other one. I would have hidden my rice boxes if I made it that way. I wouldn’t be thrilled with the purses on the table either. Any plans this Week?
I went to lunch with my deceased husband’s daughter today. I love that we have kept in touch for 20:years. She told me today what a good stepmother I’ve been to them and the grandkids. It really made me feel good. We went to my favorite fried chicken place and I had a grilled chicken breast. That was a hard decision as I love their fried chicken. I met barb later for an ice tea to hear all about her family reunion. Kayla Even dropped by briefly this afternoon ...nice Surprise! It was a nice weekend
Hello....anyone home? I got to go to lunch with my middle grandson today. I hardly get to spend much time with the boys as they are in every sport, weight lifting, etc. I was lucky to find a couple of hours to spend with him. I totally enjoyed myself and got caught up and things with the kids. Our new insurance man came over this afternoon to go over somethings and questions we had and meet us. Tonight I fixed (heated) a ww smart ones pot roast. It was so bland and gross...Louis ate it but said not to get it again. Don’t worry....
ReplyDeleteWhat’s new with you dear friends?
Mary, Do check with your insurance about the cataract surgery. The single lens surgery won’t cost me anything and the others are an option if I want to pay for them, which I don’t.
ReplyDeleteI’m not surprised that your rice went fast. Everything you cook sounds so good I want to eat at your house.
I think I would have had to tell those women to please take their purses off the table. I won’t put mine on the floor anywhere. I put it over my knee at restaurants and if there is no place to hang it in a public bathroom, I hang it around my neck. But also, I won’t put my silverware on a table unless its on a napkin or placemat. I always ask for extra napkins so I can use one for my lap and one for the silverware. If there aren’t extra napkins, I will put them on the plate. I’m not a total germaphobe, but I am picky about that.
Dianne, I guess it was a good decision not to go with the girls in the limo! I wonder if they got a discount for not having a/c?
ReplyDeleteHow nice that your stepdaughter let you know how appreciated you are. Nice that you got to catch up with your grandson and Kayla, too.
J/L, so, the Bachelorette was interesting tonight. I’m interested in seeing how Hannah and Tyler work out, or if we even get updates.
ReplyDeleteChad and I went to Costco today and spent over $400. We got quite a bit of meat. That should do us for at least a month. Actually it will probably last much longer. We bought a bulk package of tri-tip that has 7 in it. We also got ribs, a pot roast, chicken and pork chops, and lots of other stuff. We were there for almost two hours. Good thing I was driving an electric cart! It’s the first time I have ever been there that we were able to walk right up to the cashier and there was no one in front of us. I guess that’s because it’s the day before payday for all the state workers. 😹
Barb, I didn’t realize you drive an electric cart sometimes too. Costco is too big to walk plus it all kills my back. Do you ever run into things? I do frequently especially at target and walmart...especially clothes racks. You should see me buzzing around on a cruise Ship! Boy, it sounds like you’ll have plenty of meat for awhile. You must have an extra freezer . Yes, thank goodness I didn’t go in the limo...i knew it was a bad idea from the start. Heck, I was sweating at the beginning of the reunion. I hate when my bangs look like I just got out of a swimming pool. I’m kind of picky s out my purse but not the silverware. I guess I should be more aware.
ReplyDeleteDianne I'm so glad you had such a good time at your reunion. The idea of going in a limo sounds good until you factor in that there was no A/C. That's really too bad for such a warm day and does not speak well for the limo rental company. I liked your group photo. It was considerate of them to think to put a chair out for you and the fellow with the cane.
ReplyDeleteSo, did you ever imagine you would be a Groupie at your age, traveling around the country just to see your favorite group? But, hey, why not? Maybe it will take you to places you've never been before. Sometimes going to see a performer you like is a really good excuse to take a trip. I wouldn't mind taking a trip to..........anywhere. Unfortunately, it costs quite a bit to have dog care while I'm gone so that expense has to be factored in, too.
Mary I can't even imagine why anyone would put their purse on the floor of a public restroom. Eeeeew!!! I'm not keen on putting my purse on the floor anywhere, actually. I don't know if the purses in the middle of the table would bother me or not. Apparently, they aren't keen on putting their purses on the floor, either. I don't think their purses would bother me unless they were crowding my space.
ReplyDeleteBarb Wow! That's a lot of meat you got there. I don't belong to Costco because I just don't buy in quantity like that, of any item, really. I used to go to Costco with my husband and we always spent a lot more than we thought we would. I can't imagine being there for 2 hours.
ReplyDeleteI ordered a couple of tops online a little while ago and they arrived the other day. I liked one but not the other so I returned it directly to the store today. While there I tried on some other tops but didn't find anything that I really liked enough to buy. Anyway, I hate trying on clothes and after trying on 5 different tops I was ready to get out of there. I'd never make it in Costco for two hours.
I was going to make a chicken dish for dinner tonight but I realized today that I forgot to get one of the main ingredients. I guess I'll be going back to the gross-ry store tomorrow. In the meantime, I've walked the dog and will be having the old stand by for dinner....grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup.
ReplyDeleteJL, what ingredient did you forget....the chicken? Lol. I’m making taco soup Monday. It’s a ww recipe but I’ve never tried it so hopefully good..of course in the crockpot. Crawling through a limo didn't sound great either. Yes, it was very nice to have a chair. My neighborhood friend got it automatically for me. I didn’t feel uncomfortable about either. It’s the first time I’ve ever been in the front row as I’m always one of the tall ones. We go to Costco for some prescriptions, vitamins, and our hot dog dinner. We try to stay out of the bakery, which doesn’t always work. We get the meatloaf dinner there too. I had a Taco Bell bean burrito for dinner but I had a bigger lunch.
ReplyDeleteWe are picking Tammy and James up from the airport at 10 tonight. Looks like they had a fun time. Barb and I were going to the movie tomorrow but can't really find one. I kind of wanted to see the Brad and Leo movie but she’s not interested so we will go to lunch and talk. I think I’m meeting Emilee for lunch on Sunday.
Hi barb and Mary
Dianne, yes I drive a cart around Costco and I haven’t run i to anything yet. It is way too big and Chad spends a lot of time checking out meat, etc. He is really picky about meat especially. Also, we don’t go that often, so we do buy a lot. I do have an separate freezer in the laundry room. It is very handy as I freeze a lot of stuff.
ReplyDeleteJ/L, The cost of boarding my cats is one reason I didn’t travel more and now that Mellie is taking meds, it may not change, since she won’t take her meds for Chad. I’m still going to try to get him to try giving it to her, but he isn’t that willing because she hisses at him. He doesn’t want to get scratched!
ReplyDeleteHi gals! We have been getting very high temps along with high humidity. Yesterday a short storm came through and cooled things off. Today we are back to highs!
ReplyDeleteJim's brother's are visiting. One is from Boston,Upper Peninsula, and the oldest is from Flint, a few hrs away, but they rarely visit each other. They have lost one brother and one sister, just like I have. There are 5 siblings left in both of our families.
We had dinner at my sister in laws last night, with the brother from Boston & his wife. Today the one from the U.P. will be here and the oldest will be at the family gathering/picnic on Wednesday. Another Taco bar lol This time I am bringing guacamole.
btw, they are NOT staying with us...whew!
The brother from Boston has his own Co. I am not exactly sure what he sells. I know he is the inventor of a few things, one was some kind of sensor that tests products freshness (like chips) without opening them. I Googled "Richard Syrjala" once and didn't understand much lol!
Jim's youngest brother Edsel, from the U.P. was adopted by his Aunt & Uncle Syrjala when he was an infant. They couldn't have children, so when Jim was 18 mo old and his baby brother was a few months old, their father died , they wanted the two youngest from Jim's Mom, who had 5 other mouths to feed. She would not consent to Jim going with them. It must have been so hard for her to make such choices. At least he ( baby Edsel) was able to keep the family name.
I have been worried about Jim. He has been having a hard time breathing with all the heat and humidity. He looked pale yesterday. He may have to go on oxygen soon. Dam cigs!
Matthew has not had a cig in 5 days. I am so proud of him! He has tried so many times. He is doing the "Vaping" withdrawal thing. Seems to be working for him. no chemicals or tar, just nicotine, until he is weaned off. He bought Jim the same tool, but he hasn't warmed up to it yet.
Enough om my novel......
SacBarb, thanks for the info on cataracts. I am sure my BCBS & or SS will pay for the simple lens. Jim wasn't given a choice. They just set him up for surgery and got a bill over $900. He may not have understood that he had choices. He said he doesn't notice much improvement.
ReplyDeleteDianne, Glad your reunion went well. I was nervous before our 50th.I survived lol!
LOL, @ JL forgetting the chicken!
JustLin, I like Rice-a-Roni. I have never tried the Spanish rice. I think I will stick to mine.
Aug. 2nd was my son Tony's 53rd birthday. Matthew will be 52 in Dec. Geesh I am old!
Jim & I went to Tony's home to take him his gift. He had a houseful of friends waiting on him. He is retired from the State of Mich., but got bored and took a part time job helping a friend in construction. He had worked out in hot temps. on his birthday!. He has always tanned very easily. Well, he looks like he just got in from months sunbathing in the Caribbean! His wife says his butt is still Irish/Mexi/white, lol!
Hi....tonight is a country CMA show, so I’ll be watching it in ten minutes. I went to lunch with Em and then emptied some of my closet shelves into a big box. I’m sorting during show for trash, homeless and me. I have so many trial size things. I get the hotel things and make up pkgs for the homeless so I’m sure these trial things will be used. Louis and I cleaned the Tupperware cabinet too the other day. I gave barb tons of it and only kept a few things. So, I went to lunch Friday with a friend and I had Louis’s car as he was getting mine serviced. His car is blue but he used to have a red one like mine. When we left I went to the red car on handicap thinking it was my car and could barely get my legs under the steering wheel. I thought it was Louis’s previous red car and couldn’t figure out why the seat was up and then almost spilled my tea in it....you guessed it..wrong car. Why the heck did someone leave their car unlocked. I had already put the seat all the way back and still didn’t notice until I saw the cup holder full of things! I jumped out fast and then almost got into the next red car when I FINALLY remembered Louis’s car was blue. Oh my gosh, how embarrassing. I left very fast. I think I’m losing it! I wonder what that other car person thought when they got in and their seat was all the way back.
ReplyDeleteMary, sounds like lots of fun busy things going on in your life. I’ll bet you’re glad no one is staying with you! I imagine your guacamole is yummy. Is it Spicy? I like mild guacamole. Yea for Matthew not smoking. Hope he keeps it up. Maybe it will inspire Jim to join him. I hope so. Has dr ever talked to Jim about full time oxygen? I have to use it with my cpap at night. I’ve been tested since I’m so short of breath but my oxygen level stays up. If it helped, I’d use it. What does Jim think about using it? I don’t think you can smoke on oxygen. Sounds like tony had a fun birthday. Tammy will be 51 this year and it does make me feel old too. Have fun at your picnic this week.
ReplyDeleteBarb, I think Costco is too huge to walk too. You must be a better driver than me. I think I get easily distracted. That’s too bad your trips will be less. Does Mellie have to be on meds forever or just for Awhile? Hope you’re doing good. How’s the back? My niece gets married Saturday and we are all very excited. It looks like my brother will be able to attend and a CNA is coming with him. Joanna will be very happy to have her dad there
JL...I think my taco soup can be done just on stovetop. Guess I’ll have to figure out how to turn that darn thing on..lol. This week is hair and nails and my Texas cousins arrive Thursday. Should be a fun week. Tammy and James had a great time on cruise. It was first one for James and second for Tammy. They enjoyed the excursions and the piano bar and are ready for another cruise.
My son passed the sergeants exam for the police department. It was the written one and now he has interviews and a lot more to test for but at least the written one is over. He finished 33 out of 200...so proud of him.
Well, time to sort junk and watch show.
Dianne I had to laugh at your "wrong car" episode. It's a shock when you suddenly realize you're in someone else's car, isn't it? This happened to my brother and I about 10 or 12 years ago when I was visiting him and my mother. We had been using my mother's car a lot so when he and I went shopping, went back to the car and got in. It wasn't until we were both in the car that we realized it belonged to someone else. We jumped out of there soooo fast. Not only was it the wrong car, but we hadn't even taken my mother's car that day. We had taken my brother's truck! We laughed so much about it. As a stocking stuffer at the next Christmas, my brother made me a refrigerator magnet that is like a small Wanted Poster with our photos on it that reads that we are wanted for auto theft. I still have that magnet on my fridge. Funny memory!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly looked like Tammy and James enjoyed their honeymoon cruise. I love Alaska. I've never hung out at a piano bar. It would take away from my casino time. LOL
It looks like you have fun family stuff coming up. I'm very glad Bruce will be able to attend his daughter's wedding. I'm sure it's really important to both of them that he's able to do so. Oh, and congratulations to your son on his sergeant's exam.
Mary I didn't forget to get the chicken, but I did forget to get a green pepper. As you know, a pepper adds a lot of flavor and the dish would definitely not be the same without it. So I went to the store the other day and got my pepper so I could make the dish that night. I went to bet my onion out and lo and behold, I didn't have one! Damn it! I was sure
ReplyDeleteI had one. I didn't want to go back to the store again so I just used my dried onion flakes. It worked okay but it would have been better with real pieces of onion. At least I already had the tomatoes, mushrooms, and black olives that I use in it, plus salt, pepper, and Italian seasonings. I serve the chicken breast and sauce over thin spaghetti. And I have leftovers! Yay!
I hope the vaping helps Matthew kick the cigarette habit. I used the lozenges and they also have nicotine in them and then you eventually ween yourself off of those, going longer and longer between lozenges. That's what worked for me. Boy, I sure wish Jim would do something to help himself get off the evil cigarettes. I use the term evil because the manufacturers have done everything they can to make cigarettes the most addictive and harmful as possible and they don't care what it's doing to people's health. Jim's not going to be able to light up if he's on oxygen. Way too dangerous.
Barb Well, our other guilty pleasure starts tonight; Bachelor in Paradise. It's like double the drama of the regular Bachelor shows. I wonder if we lose a brain cell every time we watch. LOL I wonder if there's a correlation between less clothing and more drama. LOL
ReplyDeleteMy dog is just now starting to get over the trauma of July 4. She doesn't trust going out the back door when it gets to be about dusk as she thinks the explosions are going to start up. It doesn't help that someone in the neighborhood sets off an explosion once a day. So stupid. I wish I knew who it was.
My son worked at a high end butcher shop for a while and he tells me that the Costco meat is the highest grade meat. I'm not big on thawing out meat so I tend to buy meat that I know I will use in the next day or two.
Hi...I made that taco soup tonight on the. stove and it turned out really good with leftovers. It’s really low in points too. Louis liked it a lot. Took longer to open cans than it did to cook..lol. Your poor dog being scared this long. I buy the onion that is all chopped up already before I make something. I’m totally lazy. Did you know you can buy a bag of frozen onions too over in the vegetable section? Then you can just use as needed. That’s funny about your car episode. You feel like a jerk when you are jumping out of the others person car....but then, I’ll say again...why is their car unlocked? We like the piano bar but the casino really calls our name. We try to do both each night. Tammy made all sorts of friends there. She makes friends everywhere! Thank for the congratulations for Todd. I hope he gets through the rest of the testing good. I think he will though.
ReplyDeleteLouis and I met his friends from the mountains for lunch but they had errands so came down here. They are a fun couple. Had a couple of errands to do and then home to be Betty Crocker.
Dianne I used to buy the frozen chopped up onions all the time but my grocery store isn't carrying it anymore. Boo hoo! I guess I could check around at other stores and stock up. It sure is handy. I'll have to look up that taco soup recipe. Sounds tasty.
ReplyDeleteDianne, I literally laughed out loud at your car story. I too wondered why someone would not have locked their car door. I have gone to the wrong car in the parking lot, but the key wouldn’t open the door. That’s when I realized I was at the wrong car. However, it was the same make and color of my car!
ReplyDeleteYay for your son passing his exam. I was an HR Manager at the Governor’s Office before I retired, and I sat on many oral exam panels for CHP. That was one of my favorite parts of my job. I bet he will do really well.
I used to make that taco soup a lot and I really like it. It makes quite a big batch, so I would freeze some in individual serving sizes. It was so nice when I came home from work and didn’t want to cook. I just defrosted it in the microwave and heated it up. Like you said, it almost takes longer to open all the cans than to cook the soup.
J/L, well, Paradise is going to have even more drama than in previous seasons, and it’s on two nights a week. Like you said, it’s better than a soap opera. I have DirecTV and they are in a dispute with CBS, so I am not able to watch any CBS shows on the TV. I have been missing The Young and the Restless, because I don’t like watching on my phone. So Paradise will give my my soap fix. LOL
ReplyDeleteSo sorry Ursula is having a hard time getting over the fireworks. If she is still hearing it, it’s no wonder she is still leery about going out back. Too bad you can’t figure out who is still setting them off.
Mary, Happy Birthday to your son, Tony. I am really feeling old. My oldest was 57 in December. My other two are 47 & 45. It seems like yesterday that I was taking them to elementary school and I was be-bopping between work, school and sports practices. Time really does fly!
ReplyDeleteDoes Jim read a lot? Everyone I know that has had cataract surgery has told me they have an easier time reading. Also, most colors are brighter, especially white. Maybe it’s not the same for everyone.
We went to my nieces wedding last night and my brother was able to be there and go down the aisle with his daughter. It was so great. We had a fun time and my niece was beautiful. My grandson asked me to dance a slow dance...I could not refuse. It melted my heart. My dil got so sweet to me as the night went on. She got me on the dance floor a couple of times. My back was hurting and I couldn’t breathe but I pushed on! I was pretty proud on myself. It was all In all a perfect night. I hope it lasts. My dil and ex sil even “buried the hatchet” as she worded it and I’m so glad. The kids are going to Florida on their honeymoon tomorrow. This morning when I got up I felt like I’d been working out at a gym yesterday! Good exercise and hopefully worked off that piece of cake I indulged in during the night.
ReplyDeleteBarb, I didn’t notice colors being brighter but I no longer where glasses for distance but I have readers in every room. Louis is the same and he wore glasses his whole life. That’s a good idea to freeze the soup. We just ate it all. I will be making it again.
Hey guys....can I freeze salsa? I can seldom eat it as it’s too hot but we got some from our mountain restaurant that I can eat. I don’t think we will eat it all before we leave town this week.
Mary, hows Matthew doing with the smoking? I hope he’s still holding out. I think we might drop by the casino Thursday when we are in New Mexico before we go to the Texas Tenors show on Friday.
JL, is Ursula doing better? I hope your neighbor has stopped with the fireworks. What did you do over the weekend ?
Hi Gals! We have been busy around. Jim's brothers are back home and we have all recovered from the reunion, dinners, visits pre and post cleanings etc.
ReplyDeleteDo any of you ever wonder if it could be the last time you see a family member at the reunion? My sil is getting pretty frail. She is about to turn 80. her now, 2nd hubby is 5 yrs younger. He takes good care of her, but he has health issues too, one being way overweight. The brother from Boston is a recent cancer survivor. He walks an hour every day. The brother that was adopted is by far the healthiest. He was raised by his hardworking Dad/Uncle. They at one time both worked in the copper mines. The Uncle and Aunt were t-boned by a police officer who was heading to what turned out to be a false alarm robbery. He didn't have his flashers on when the Uncle pulled out into the road. They (Aunt & Uncle) died instantly. Very sad. I hear there was some kind of settlement.
My niece Raquel is selling hemp products. I have the oil and lotion. The lotion is working great! I haven't had a Motrin in over a week, about the time I started using the lotion on my knee, shoulders and legs. I hope it continues. The stuff is not cheap, but if it works I may have to buy stock in it lol!
We leave for Vegas on Monday next week. Not my idea going to where it is over 100* lol. Jim wanted a short trip before Matthew goes back to driving bus and can watch the house and dogs. Oh well, It's nor Paris or Italy, but a trip non the less.
later, I have stuff to catch up on around here...as always.
Well, I have almost caught up on things around here. Seems like I finish one thing and 5 more things pop up lol! I have laundry to catch up on as well as packing.
ReplyDeleteI had a nice lunch with many old worker friends today. The UAW furnished a nice meal for all local retirees.. Tomorrow is my monthly lunch with some of same friends. It's at a new place. It's about a 45 minute drive. It's a bit out of the way. Hope my navigator doesn't steer me wrong!
Later...
Hello....we’ve been busy with my cousins from Texas being here. It’s been a lot of fun. We will see them again in November. We have so much fun with them. They went to the shooting range with Louis, James and my uncle. I Met my Wyoming friend for lunch today and am all packed to leave in the am. I did very good on packing this time and not too much extra with clothes.
ReplyDeleteMary, have fun in Vegas. How long will you be there? Tomorrow night we will be spending the night in Las Vegas, NEW MEXICO!! It’s a little less fun than your Las Vegas, Mary. We will get some good southwestern food though. It’s fun meeting old work friends for lunch. I enjoy seeing them too.
Well, time to go nudging.
NEW BLOG
ReplyDeleteHi Dianne. Thanks for the nudge. I meant to get here sooner, but I am easily distracted. There really isn’t much going on in my life. It’s been really hot in Sac - 109 on Wednesday and a cooler 106 yesterday. I didn’t know there was a Las Vegas in NM. I guess there really is something new to learn every day! LOL
