~ Happy Valentine's Day ~

  1. Thanks JustLin. I knew that but wrote on the last blog anyway lol!
    Here it is.

    Happy Valentines Day!
Nothing exciting here. I gave Jim his favorite treat, long cherry licorice.
I am pretty sure he doesn't have a romantic bone in his body lol! He never gets me anything unless he gets an after Valentines day sale candy. Always been that way, so I stopped buying him stuff years ago.
I am watching "Withering Heights" for the 1000th time lol. I love Laurence Olivier!
    The end always kills me!!

Dianne, Matthew has been working right along.
I got my hair done 2 weeks ago. We are off schedule now lol! My next appt. is Marc 1. I am not crazy about my cut. Hardly any layers. She knows I don't like short layers. She must have been afraid to cut too much.

Today it's 15* I believe our high! It has been snowing on & off for days.
Can you say "cabin fever?". I take Zoie on short walks. He little paws get so cold, but she loves it out there so I have to carry her in.

  2. Happy Valentines Day dear Sweetheart Friends!! πŸ§‘πŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ’œ

Mary It's 15 degrees at your house?!?! I believe even I would be a bit cold LOL! I bet baby Zoie's little hands and feet are really frozen after she does her bouncing around in the snow. I still think it's so precious how she loves to do that.

Dianne Well I'm glad Louis can get his second shot and will just keep praying that this time he has no side effects. He got it taken care of the first time so the second will be a piece of cake 😊 Also hoping your PT starts helping. Is your leg still really bad? I have surfed since I was about 14 years old.....a hundred years ago Lol I even have a special brace that I can wear in the water and it works great. I'm so lucky and have no reason to complain about wearing them on my leg because hey--I can walk. Those of us that love the waves don't worry about sharks. I guess it's like anything else there are risks and it's either worth it or not. I've been lucky, only saw one once. The surfing in Hawaii is amazing and there are very few if any sharks. I think the whales keep them away πŸ€—

Well it's only 68 degrees here.....brrrrrrrr! So My Birthday Valentine Girl and I are going to go for another walk. Hope ya all have a good (romantic????) day and remember, you can eat allllll the candy you want today without gaining any calories at all!!
    πŸ˜˜πŸΆπŸ˜»πŸ’œπŸ§‘πŸ˜Ž XOXOXOXOXO πŸ₯°

  3. Posted from area 51. Thanks Linda for telling me I posted on the old blog. I don’t know how I missed the new one!

Hello all my beautiful Owls. I’m sorry I’ve been MIA, but I’m here now. I was going to post yesterday after Dianne nudged me, but I spent the whole day in bed, first watching CNN and the Senate vote and then just depressed. I respect that we all have different opinions and I don’t want to dredge up politics, but I just say that as an explanation of why I didn’t post yesterday.

So, Happy Valentine’s Day to you all. I was surprised by a knock at the door and a delivery of a pretty bouquet of flowers from Sakima Dog, Todd’s dog. I called to tell Todd thanks and he said Sakima must have gotten his own credit card! LOL

I will be getting my COVID vax on Friday. I was told to take all my regular meds and to drink plenty of water beforehand.

Chad set up my new computer yesterday only to discover that my monitor is not compatible. So after Chad researched monitors, I ordered a new and bigger one. It should be here Wednesday. I will be so happy to be able to post on the desktop computer instead of my phone.

Dianne, I hope you and Louis are feeling much better and you don’t get a reaction from your second vax, especially Louis.

Mary, you guys sure have a lot of snow. It’s funny that Zoie likes to walk in it. When Todd moved to Denver from San Diego, his dog would NOT go outside to do his business unless Todd shoveled a path for him. They were all happy to move back to S. D. after five years.

JL, what the heck is going on with the Bachelor? Tomorrow’s show has already been taped, so I wonder if there will be some kind of announcement or if it will just go on as usual? The internet was lit up with all kinds of theories and opinions yesterday!

Seaside, thank you for the sweet valentine card from you and Gidget. It was a very nice surprise.

  4. Barb! Good to have you back in the nest!
I hope your spirits are up today. Please don't let negativity rent a room in your beautiful brain :)
Yes, we have gotten a lot of snow! Jim was out today plowing getting prepared for the 6-8 inches we are supposed to get tonight! It was holding at 10* all day.
My poor Niece in Dallas has been out of power since last night. The whole state of Texas is under a winter weather advisory! So weird!!
I prefer my PC to my phone or tablet when it comes to postings. My son gave me his old fancy dancy PC and large, curved monitor. I love it! He even gave me his old keyboard.

  5. Hi everybody! 😊

Barb Good to see you lady and I hear ya about stuff on your phone. I just can't do it, way to small. I prefer the computer too. How precious that you got Valentine flowers from SAKIMA! That's really special and this must be a very special baby since he/she has their very own credit card. Lol I love it! I hear ya about the hearings, I watched very little mainly because I knew it wouldn't go anywhere. What upset me the most last week was there were FOUR days with no General Hospital!! How dare they! Lol I'm glad you'll be getting your shot this week and hope it all goes good. It's funny because so many people I know seem to be getting their vaccines this week. I have no idea when I'll get mine but I'm seriously not looking forward to it. I know my doctor will say the 'benefits out way' the risks. But I'm one of those ding-a-lings that carries an epi pen for anaphylaxis reactions. So the thought makes me very nervous. Sure I'll probably do it anyway πŸ™„

Mary 6-8 inches of snow! Now that's a lot of snow. My friend in Iowa has had below zero temps for 10 days straight and not sure when it will go above it. It amazes me. I hope your cabin fever doesn't last much longer.

Dianne Hoping to hear good news from you and Louis. Sending you both good thoughts.

JL Hope you're doing well also, at least we don't have to deal with the snow huh. I did see about a week or two ago that a huge chunk of Highway 101 collapsed. That's way scary! In all my years in California and going from one surfing spot to another, I never drove from SF to Santa Cruz/Monterey along 101. Driving along cliffs is NOT my idea of pretty! Me big chicken LOL!

Happy Taco Tuesday ya all....sending hugs 😎🐢

  6. Coming to you from my brand, spankin’ new computer and 28” monitor. I love it.

Mary, I have been praying for all the Texas people who are without power, even Ted Cruz! I had no idea most of TX was on their own grid! I wonder if they will make a change after this? I hope your niece and her family are OK. I think about how happy you must be that you got that generator. It’s a big worry off your mind.

Dianne, I hope your doc finds something to ease your tendonitis pain! I was lucky when I had it in my shoulder that the cortisone shot helped me. My arm is a little sore today from the vax, but I haven’t had any real side affects. My next appointment is March 12. I got the Pfizer. The group I was in wasn’t given a choice. I guess it doesn’t really matter!

Seaside, sharon hasn’t been able to schedule an appointment for the vax, either. I don’t know why, because she lives in Roseville and the Kaisers there got it before Sac. and she is 74. They were vaccinating people 65 and older. Her brother and sil got it and they are a year older. I have another friend who is in her 50s and has to carry an epi pen. She is apprehensive about getting the vax.

JL, we had no rain today. It’s been a little windy, but not bad. Chad has decided to research solar heating and ac. From what he’s found so far, it’s expensive and we would still have an electric bill. I wish I knew someone that has it. I have a million questions and I would like to ask someone who is living with it.
I’m still trying to get my sister to call her doctor about the vax. She said she left a message, but I’m not sure I believe her. I’ve been calling around to various pharmacies to see if I can get her an appointment. I put her on a couple of wait lists. I didn’t even tell her. She’ll forget anyway. I figure if they call me with an appointment, I’ll tell her then. We’ll have to take her because she forgot to renew her driver’s license. She shouldn’t be driving anyway. She also forgot to renew her registration for her car.

  7. SacBarb, good to see you posting :)
I asked my Niece in Texas if my sis in the assisted care facility was ok, she has dementia, She said they had power and back up just in case. I was glad to hear that! My Niece's power is still on thank goodness!
I put Ji8m & I in a new site because we weren't hearing a thing from the other one.My girlfriend suggested it. They were contacted pretty quick and got their first shots.

Dianne, I sure wish we could figure out how to get you back to our texting(so we can see you). Too strange. I am going to try to set up a new group for us and hope we can delete the other one. So far all it has deleted was the old conversations. Crazy phones/new tech! I may have to Google, that is if I know what to ask for lol!!

  8. Hi ya all!!!

Well I gave up on the texting. Couple nights ago I got a text from Dianne and she was commenting to Barb and then to Mary. I told her she sent it to just me because it was just her number. She said no she sent to all. Then yesterday it was happening again. I commented several times on the group but I don't think ya all saw me. I only see Barb and Mary in the group and only Dianne on her number.
Is this is a test?? I failed LOL!!

    Love ya all....... πŸ˜ŽπŸΆπŸ˜ΌπŸ¦πŸ°πŸΉπŸΎπŸΎπŸΎπŸΎπŸ•πŸˆπŸ¦ŒπŸπŸ’›

  9. Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii...............

I guess ya all are so busy trying to get the texting in order, no one has time to fly to the nest.
I'm missing everyone and hope all is good.
Happy HUMP Day LOL I don't think I've said that since we all seemed to say it 100 years ago on ROSS Blog.
And speaking of ROSS. Any of you hear he's engaged? It's so funny because his fiancee looks just like him. Well in the picture anyway. Ross was talking about it, then they showed a picture of the two of them and I was going----which one is Ross??? It was cute though, he's very excited and I'm so happy for him.

    Be safe....hugs 😎🐢

  10. Hi everyone. Seaside, I think we ...me...have the texting figured out. My phone didn’t have group texting turned on. It seems like it’s working now. I hope. We’re getting ready to have 2-8” of snow tonight. I hope it’s just the 2” so driving won’t be bad. I’ll probably end up canceling my lunch tmrw but Friday we r getting our taxes done. Louis will be driving then though. I always get nervous that we will have to pay. The only real deduction is all our medical.

It looks like Louis and I made it through the shots without any problems this time. My arm is a little sore but that’s it. I’m so happy Louis did well. He’s been in the recliner the last two nights with the walker right by him. He went out today for his pt. I have mine in an hour. I feel so thankful that we got both our shots and are done with this whole thing for now. Too stressful!

Mary, I hope I’m not sending you our snow. They say it might be the most for us this year. Yuck! The ice in front of driveway lasts forever. They clean our parking lot and sidewalks for anything over two inches.

Barb and j/l....I’ve been reading updates on bachelor. There is sure a lot of drama going on. I don’t like to watch it but I like to read it. Sometimes I’ll watch the last show. The voice will be starting soon and I do like that show.

Thanks everyone for helping me and putting up with me and the texting issue!

  11. Dianne Yay for finally getting the group texting fixed. That was frustrating, especially for you. I'm glad it only took a phone call to get the problem resolved. Phew!

I'm so glad you and Louis got your second shots and had no bad reactions. I'm thinking Louis's problems after first vaccine were just coincidental and had nothing to do with the actual vaccine. Anyway, isn't it a relief to have both vaccines on board? I know I have been more chipper lately and I think it's due to the relief I feel to know I have been fully vaccinated now. I was probably feeling more stress than I realized.

Yes, lots of drama going on with the Bachelor outside of the actual show. It's really a shame.

  12. Hi again LOL!!

Dianne I am so so so happy that both you and Louis had your second shots and all is GOOD! Something to celebrate for sure. I have no idea when I will be up for the vacine. It still makes me nervous thinking about it but sure would love to have it done. Hope your snow doesn't get to bad and you and Louis can safely go out. Please be careful. I'm ready for the Voice to start too. I really like it a lot. But American Idol drives me nuts. I usually watch the first couple because some are so bad it makes me laugh πŸ€— But I watched the first couple this season and I sat there watching the judges stand and get so excited for someone that I though was really horrible. I just don't get it. I haven't seen/heard one person I like yet. ??? JMO

Barb and JL How have you guys been liking the Bachelor this season? There sure has been a lot of poop going on huh. Sounds like maybe that host guy needs to go away for good. ?? I watched it the first couple years it was on (loooong time ago) but then just thought it was kind of silly and stopped. But to be honest it isn't any worse than some of the other reality shows I watch. Ya know like-----my Housewives of Atlanta/New Jersey and of course Big Brother! LOL Love the Masked Singer but the Masked Dancer was beyond dumb (I thought).

Mary How's my baby Zoie doing? I know she loves the snow but how does she do with the heat? I do hope you guys are doing well with your winter and staying safe. I can not believe what's going on in Texas. They sure have been through a lot and in the summer they all pass out from the heat! Can we all just have a happy medium for a while 😊

Today we've got 85 for the second day in a row! Seems every year I have to start buying bug juice earlier and earlier. ooooooh well....I don't do well with creepy crawlies πŸ˜–

    Sending more hugs πŸ˜ŽπŸΆπŸ’œ

  13. Seaside I did see the notice and photo of Ross's engagement. That's really lovely and I'm very happy for him. I don't think they look alike but what I did notice in the photo was that they were wearing the same style shoes, just in different colors. Anyway, I wish them all the best. Discovering Ross and the Ross blog helped me through some very difficult days after my husband died. I desperately needed to laugh and Ross always did that for me. Also, if it wasn't for Ross and his blog, I wouldn't have connected to the lovely ladies here on this blog and with others that I am friends with on and off of FB.

By the way, it was not 101 that collapsed, it was a section of Highway 1. That happened down by Big Sur. It is a beautiful drive down the coast. Our most dangerous section, Devil's Slide, is now avoided due to the tunnel. This is reminding me of a time when my mother was visiting and we decided to drive to Bodega Bay. I took the "scenic route" (Highway 1) and there was a section that was unbelievably winding, a lot of hairpin turns. At one point, I had to pull over so my mother could vomit. We laughed a lot about it later. We saw the school that was used in the movie, "The Birds". I remember at one point we were standing in the middle of a deserted street and just laughing and laughing. It was a fun weekend trip with a lot of laughs.

  14. Barb If Chris Harrison ends up leaving the show for good, things just won't be the same.

I had groceries delivered from Safeway yesterday. I did that because I wanted to avoid being in the store and mostly because I was ordering a case of bottled water and didn't want to have to carry it. Anyway, one of the things I ordered was a package of 80/20 ground beef in one of their approximately 1.35 pound packages. Apparently, they didn't have that so they substituted it with 6 lbs of 97/3. Yikes! That's a lot of ground beef. $24.00 worth. I took it to my local Safeway store because I thought that was where it came from but it hadn't. It came from their warehouse so the store couldn't take it back. I called the number they gave me and they gave me a complete refund for the meat. I still can't use that much meat and I don't like to freeze and then have to thaw out meat so I gave it to the neighbors next door. It's two men and their teenage son. I figure all those men could make use of it. I think these times have probably been hard for them financially as one is a decorator and the other is an event and convention planner. Not a lot of that going on in the past year.

  15. Mary Well, there was certainly nothing fancy going on here for Valentine's Day, either. I did make myself a nice dinner of steak, sauteed mushrooms, baked potato, and salad.

I'm so glad to hear that your Texas relatives are doing okay. What a horrible winter they are having! They really need to do something about their power grid. Children died because of this. My husband's youngest daughter is a retired police chief and lives in Texas. Where she is, they were having to boil water but she had plenty of bottled water so was doing okay.

I don't suppose Zoie would be willing to wear booties on her feet. I don't understand why dogs don't get frostbite on their paws.

That reminds me.....I saw something on the news about Finns running in the snow with nothing on their feet but two layers of wool socks. I was thinking about your Jim the whole time of the report. I don't suppose he'd do that, would he? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  16. JustLin, Jim has actually laid nekkid in a snow bank right after a sauna lol! What a site!
Zoie loves walking in the snow. Thank goodness our neighbor, the tree farmer, has kept a couple lanes open on his property that joins ours. It makes for great walks.

Seaside, I can't believe how high your temps are already! It was a balmy45` yesterday and today. Makes for a messy driveway. I usually don't walk Zoie when it is muddy, her being so close to the muddy ground lol. I will probably take her to town tomorrow an go on their walking trails.

Dianne, yay for connecting via texting! I was feeling so frustrated for you! Can you believe when I prayed last night for you and Louis, I added, "please fix Dianne's phone while you are at it" lol! Good news that Louis is getting around. You both needed something positive for a change!

Barb, I too had no idea about the grid business in Texas! What a mess! So sad people had to die! Our country has had enough sadness & misery to last a lifetime!!

I have been keeping pretty busy. Jim went to the Casino yesterday so I totally cleaned out his messy living room! It took me aver two hrs. I then attacked Queenie's outdoor kennel. The days a getting warm enough for her to be outside. She is in heat and you know what the involves! There was about 6" of ice and 3" of snow on her tarp roof. It looked like it was about to break apart. All that heavy ice would have collapsed her dog house in there. I took a ladder, ice pick a hoe and shovel and went like a mad woman lol! It took almost two hours to do it! It was a bit challenging with all the accumulated snow surrounding the Kennel.
I finished that project and made a taco dinner.
I am still eating one meal a day with an open eating window of about 3-4 hrs. I prefer 3. My tummy is slowly going down :)
